  • SQL query for getting count on same table using left outer join

    Hi all, I have a table from which i need to get the count grouped on two columns. the table has two columns one datetime column and another one is success value(-1,1,0) What i am looking for is something like this... count of success value for each month month----success-----count 11------- -1 ------- 50 11------- 1 --------- 50 11------- 0 ------- 50 12------- -1 ------- 50 12------- 1 ------- 50 12------- 0 ------- 50 if there is no success value for a month then the count should be null or zero. I have tried with left outer join as well but of no use it gives the count incorrectly. Thanks in advance Sasi

  • Hierarchical data table for JSF2 and RichFaces

    I'm using RichFaces on my JSF2 application, and I need a way to have something like a tree-column or tree-table. As far as I know, there's no support for such thing in RichFaces. Something's mentioned for RichFaces 4.0, but the priority of this in their plan isn't promising at all, and I don't think that it's going to be included in 4.0. I know there's a tree table available in IceFaces, but I'd rather not add another library to avoid conflicts and learning curve and ... So, I'm looking for the simplest way that I can achieve the same results with minimum efforts, maybe using sub-tables in RichFaces? Any ideas would be appreciated.

    I had the bright idea of using a custom error handler which led me down a rabbit hole. Following code gives (with and without custom error handler): Fatal error: Only variables can be passed by reference function foo(){ $b=array_pop(array("a","b","c")); return $b; } print_r(foo()); Following code gives (only with a custom error handler): (2048) Only variables should be passed by reference function foo(){ $a=explode( '/' , 'a/b/c'); $c=array_pop(array_slice($a,-2,1)); return $c; } print_r(foo()); The second one worries me since I have a lot of 'compact' code. So, I either ditch the bright idea of using a custom error handler (to improve my logging module) or expand all my code. Anyone with better ideas? Also, WTF?

    I have a database table. There is a field name "Sequence" that indicate sequence when user presents the rows in report or grid visually. When the rows are retrieved and presented in a grid, there are few UI gadget that allow user to reorder the rows arbitrary. The new sequence will be persist in database table when user commit the changes. Here are some UI operations: Move to first Move to last Move up 1 row Move down 1 row multi-select rows and move up or down multi-select rows and drag to new position For operation like "Move to first" or "Move to Last", it usually involve many rows and the sequence those rows would need to be updated accordingly. This may not be efficient enough at runtime. It is a common practice to use INTEGER as sequence's data type. Other solution is using "DOUBLE" or "FLOAT" that could overcome the mass update of row sequence but we will face problem if we reach the limit of precision.

    Hello, I cannot put jChceckBox to jTable cell. More likely I can put checkBox to table, but when I run module with that table, the cell where should be checkBox shows text "true" or "false". The behaviors of that cell are the same like checkbox, but it shows text value instead of checkbox. Here is the code.     Hi, Take this table: id name sub_id --------------------------- 1 A (null) 2 B (null) 3 A2 1 4 A3 1 The sub_id column is a relation to his owm table, to column ID. subid --- 0:1 --- id Now I have the problem to make a correctly SELECT query to show that the child rows (which sub_id is not null) directly selected under his parent row. So this must be a correctly order: 1 A (null) 3 A2 1 4 A3 1 2 B (null) A normal SELECT order the id. But how or which keyword help me to order this correctly? JOIN isn't possible I think because I want to get all the rows seperated. Because the rows will be displayed on a Gridview (ASP.Net) with EntityDataSource but the child rows must be displayed directly under his parent. Thank you.

Therefore TableA has a one-to-many relationship with TableB.   • iphone sdk: Table view not working in the first 5 tabs but in the more view

    Hi, I only started with sdk but this problem is bugging me now for a view days: I created a UITableView and added it to my Tabs. When this TableView is in the first 4 Tabs and u go look at it, it only shows the items on the table but when clicking on them nothing happens (it doesn't go to the next view). BUT when i put this same tab behind the 5th so it goes in the automatic MORE view everything works fine. I'm assuming this is because this more view is implementing some kind of table class. But i can't figure it out. I compared all the files with a working example but it seems to be all the same. ah ya my current project is a window based application. Though i copied most of the code from a navigation based application. Any ideas?

    I'm having a naming trouble with a function which returns parent prototype of specified object. It's being used like this: # Pseudo Code MyClass { super(MyClass,this).constructor.call(.... The problem is that I want to use a word which is as superior as "super", but "super" is reserved even it's undefined. Now I'm using "parent", but the window object has a property named parent. I hate Javascript. What should I name this function? Names have to start with lowercase and have to be short.

  • Walking a hierarchy table with Linq

    I have a table with two columns, GroupId and ParentId (both are GUIDS). The table forms a hierarchy so I can look for a value in the “GroupId” filed, when I have found it I can look at its ParentId. This ParentId will also appear in the GroupId of a different record. I can use this to walk up the hierarchy tree from any point to the root (root is an empty GUID). What I’d like to do is get a list of records when I know a GroupId. This would be the record with the GroupId and all the parents back to the root record. Is this possible with Linq and if so, can anyone provide a code snippet?

I would like to successfully run this query: CREATE VIEW Everything AS SELECT Suppliers.name as supplier, Parts.id, Parts.description, Types.typedesc as type FROM Suppliers JOIN (Parts JOIN Types ON Parts.type_id = Types.id) ON Suppliers.id = Parts.supplier_id; My DBMS (sqlite) complains that "there is not such a column (Parts.id)". I guess it forgets table names once the JOIN is done but then how can I refer to the column id that belongs to the table Parts?

I think the best way to do this is to use a pivot table, which I am no expert in. I realize I could produce theses results by using several SELECT commands instead. Given that any object can have N number of Components, how can I see which Component_Type(s) appear with other Component_Type(s)? Any help is appreciated. I've looked at cube and rollup, but didn't know how to apply to this situtation.

    I have an application in which I'm currently using a two column table in order to get accurate cell alignment of the left column labels/descriptions with the right column form fields. I'd like to convert it to css and use jQuery to expand/collapse specific sections. I've seen some jQuery libraries, the menu.js in particular. And they appear to all use list items for the markup. I'm OK with converting my table to UL/LI structure if that's what I need to do. Just looking for some advice.
