• Amazon EC2 and Named Virtual Hosts

  I am running ubuntu apache2 on an Amazon EC2 instance running behind an Amazon ELB (load balancer) I am trying to get multiple domain running pointing to different virtual hosts. The problem is I cannot get virtual hosts working with name - I can only get it working with I am trying to get www.domain1.com and www.domain2.com working When I setup my virtual hosts to it doesnt work Any ideas please??

  If I'm working within a single powershell console, and say I want to spawn another powershell console window. Is there a way to do this? If you type "powershell" at the prompt - it doesn't launch a new window, just starts a new powershell instance within the current console window. Any thoughts?

I'm not talking about remote management (like cfengine) but little tools which help to manage a small number of Linux servers.

  In readline(3) I should be able to map Control-Backspace to the same function as Control-W (unix-kill-rubout). Regardless of what I put in ~/.inputrc I'm unable to get this to be recognized. \C-\b: unix-kill-rubout ...for instance does not work. Can I map Control-Backspace to the unix-kill-rubout in readline?

  Development of the free application Putty Connection Manager that can display more than one Putty sessions stopped in 2009, and it sometimes triggers this error when I double-click on any host in the right hand-side list: PuTTY Connection Manager/An unexpected error occured : Object reference not set to an instance of an object.. When that happens, I have to reboot :-/ Does someone know of an alternative? Thank you.

  I have Chrome open most of the time in the lower right corner of my screen and work mostly with tabs. Sometimes I need a new Chrome window (instance) and hit cmd-n. Now the new window always opens up in the upper left and I have to center it. Is there a way to automatically center new chrome windows (or maybe maximize them..)?

The idea is to have one Firefox instance for various "Serious Business" things and the other for regular browsing with dozens of add-ons securely isolated.

  We are moving from EMC Celerra NS20 to Windows Storage Server 2008 R2. I would like to use deduplication feature in WSS (Single Instance Storage) for hosting data for our external FTP server.The idea is to use NFS server on WSS as datastore for Linux FTP server located in DMZ and CIFS services for servers in LAN. Using Celerra fileserver I was able to create multiple instances of fileservers with multiple virtual interfaces and separate filesystems so all data and networks would be separated. Would it be possible to do something similiar on WSS?

  Due to company restrictions where I currently work, My windows users folder %USERPROFILE% is space restricted. I get a warning that I must delete files before I can log off. Because of that, I have moved everything else out of my profile folder (maven repository, IntelliJ configuration & cache). I need to tell Firefox to put userprofiles somewhere else on my machine (like for instance C:\ff_profiles\ ). How do I do that?

• What would cause JBoss to take up 4 more GB of memory than what is allocated?

  Relevant part of the start up line: java -server -Xms10G -Xmx10G -XX:PermSize=1G -XX:MaxPermSize=1G This instance ended up taking up 16GB of memory and 10GB of swap before killing the server. Any ideas on what could cause that? This is the only major application running on a RedHat system with 16GB RAM and 10GB swap.

[368] AutoRestart: Unable to restart the MSSQLSERVER service (reason: Access is denied) Is there an authoritative place that describes what permissions should be assigned to a domain account that the SQL Server Agent runs as?
