  • How do I get a collision event from a KActor subclass?

    I have a subclass of KActor, and I want an event when it collides with things. event RigidBodyCollision seems to be what I want according to this http://wiki.beyondunreal.com/UE3:Actor_events_%28UDK%29#RigidBodyCollision Called when a PrimitiveComponent this Actor owns has: -bNotifyRigidBodyCollision set to true -ScriptRigidBodyCollisionThreshold greater than 0 -it is involved in a physics collision where the relative velocity exceeds ScriptRigidBodyCollisionThreshold As far as I can tell, I have these set up, and the event is not called for any collisions (KActor-KActor, KActor-world geometry, etc). Is there something else I need to do?

    I worked with JPA (Eclipselink implementation) and Hibernate. As I understand these two have great caching systems. I am interested in caching in a Web application and in order to better understand the process I'm trying to implement something on my own. Sadly, I cannot find any in depth documentation about this subject. I'm interested in things like high scalability, sharing memory on different machines and other important theoretical matters.   • How do I focus an "urgent" application?

    Sometimes applications will wiggle in the launcher and have a blue triangle. (See compiz config settings for Unity.) How can I set a keyboard command to bring that application to the front in Ubuntu 11.10? I had it set in 11.04, but I don't remember how. This is useful when programs open in the background or if you activate them from another app. (I have an alias to send files to a single gvim instance from Terminal instead of opening them in their own window. When gvim gets the file, it wiggles but doesn't gain focus.)

  • Android: Haptic feedback: onClick() event vs hapticFeedbackEnabled in the view

    If you want a button to provide haptic feedback (ie, the phone vibrates very briefly so you can feel that you really pushed the button), what's the standard way to do that? It seems you can either explicitly set an onClick() event and call the vibrate() function, giving a number of milliseconds to vibrate, or you can set hapticFeedbackEnabled in the view. The documentation seems to indicate that the latter only works for long-presses or virtual on-screen keys: http://developer.android.com/reference/android/view/View.html#performHapticFeedback(int) If that's right, then I need to either make my button a virtual on-screen key or manually set the onClick() event. What do you recommend? Also, if I want the vibrating to happen immediately when the user's finger touches the button, as opposed to when their finger "releases" the button, what's the best way to accomplish that?   • WPF, PreviewKeyDown event and underscore char

    Hi, I'm catching key hits with PreviewKeyDown event in my WPF component. I need to distinguish characters being typed: letters vs. numbers vs. underscore vs. anything else. Letters and numbers work fine (just convert the Key property of the KeyEventArgs object to string and work with character 0 of that string), but this won't work for underscore. It's ToString value depends on localized keyboard settings (it shows up as "OemMinus" on EN/US keyboard and "OemQuestion" on CZ/QWERTY keyboard). So how can I RELIABLY find out, if the typed char is underscore in the PreviewKeyDown event? Thanks for any help

  • FullCalendar/JSON event feed problem

    I am using a php/MySQL driven event feed to JSON. I am also trying to use greek html entities (i.e. &Gamma-with the semicolon) in the title for the event. Because FullCalendar will not let me see all the processies in firebug I can't see exactly what is going on but it will not render the Γ, etc. I have tried all the combinations I can think of in the php json_encode, the actual MySQL db field result. QTip which fullCalendar recommended on their site actually renders it correctly in the tip rendering. I am at a loss because this is something I really wish to use in the app if at all possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Slight Update I finally found that the JSON is being manipulated to make the & itself into &amp';' no matter what I do; so any relevant info on this could come in handy also. Thx

    I need a way to use the jquery .live() function to act on elements that are loaded via ajax. For instance a div is loaded via ajax .load() <div id="mydiv"></div> Normally I do .live() with a click event, but I need to know how to tell the dom that this new div has loaded without any explicit actions/events from the user. This code doesn't work, but I want to do something like this: mydiv = $("#mydiv"); mydiv.live("mydiv.length > 0", function() { // do something }); The "mydiv.length" being a substitue for the typical "click" or other event.

    I am trying to add an "KeyPress" event in a textbox (WinForm) this.textBox1.KeyPress += new System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventHandler(CheckKeys); and here's inside the 'CheckKeys': private void CheckKeys(object sender, System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventArgs e) { if (e.KeyChar == (char)13) { // Enter is pressed - do something } } The idea here is that once a textbox is in focus and the 'Enter' button was pressed, something will happen... However, my machine cannot find the 'KeyPress' event. Is there something wrong with my codes?   • App.Config Ignored After Pre-Build Event

    I have a solution with several projects and several developers, each with their own environment (of course). To manage connection strings between each environment, I have created several app.config files for each environment: app.config.dev, app.config.qa, etc. The pre-build event simply copies the app.config.$(ConfigurationName) to app.config. This pre-build event is done for each project in the solution, and the config string is included in each (including the test project). When I use the pre-build events to manage the app.config files, the connection string cannot be found. I can get the tests to run fine by 2 methods: 1. Do not use the pre-build events to manage the app.config file selection, and do it myself or 2. If I check out app.config and make it writable, then the pre-build events work just fine. We are using Visual Studio 2008. I'm down to my last grey hair here, any ideas? Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, I need to do something like this: public void Changed(Object obj, SelectionChangedEventArgs e) { // .... implement logic here } RelayCommand<Object, SelectionChangedEventArgs> _command; public ICommand ObjectSelectionChanged { get { if (_command == null) { _command = new RelayCommand<Object, SelectionChangedEventArgs>(Changed); } return _command; } } The problem is that RelayCommand class in the MVVM-Light framework doesn't support 2 generic parameters... Is there any solution or workaround for this case? How bind control event to the method with 2 parameters?

    Hi all, I'm using a DataGridView and I bind a List to the DataSource. I already have the right columns and I map exactly the fields. What I'm trying to do is handling a sort of RowAdded or RowDataBound (like in aspx GridView) event. The only event that I found is RowsAdded but no matter how many items I have, it is fired only 4 times the first time i bound, and twice the other times, with values e.RowCount:1 e.RowIndex:0 e.RowCount:[n-1] e.RowIndex:1 *where n is the number of my items is there a way I can get to a handle for each item?

    An answer to this question has led me to look into using "Event Tracing for Windows" for our tracing needs. I have come across NTrace, which seems to be a good way to produce ETW events from C# code (using the XP-compatible "classic provider" model). However, I am unable to find an easy way to consume these events - to see them in real-time and/or log them to a file. The only way I have found is that described in the NTrace documentation: using a tool which is only available as part of the Windows DDK. In the case of a complex problem in the field, we may need to ask the user to produce a file containing a trace. We can't ask users to download the DDK or carry out a number of complex operations in order to do this. Is there a straightforward, user-friendly way to log ETW events to a file? Also, is it possible for someone to consume ETW events on Windows Vista/7 if they are not running as administrator?

Two questions for the community: 1) How to update the "Application Page" status programmatically? I found the answer for a "Fan Page" here (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2097665/authorizing-a-facebook-fan-page-for-status-updates). Does anyone think it will work for an "Application Page" as well? 2) How to update the "Application Page" status through a third party service?
