    - by user1682566
    I want to create some charts using sql reporting services. But i am unable to use a lot of functions and operators in combination with my data-fields the following work(Stroke-data type is decimal): > =Fields!Stroke.Value > =Sum(Fields!Stroke.Value) > =First(Fields!Stroke.Value) > =Last(Fields!Stroke.Value) > =2+2394.12 the following dont work: > =Fields!Stroke.Value + 2 > =CStr(Fields!Stroke.Value) > =CDbl(Fields!Stroke.Value) > =Fields!Stroke.Value / Fields!Stroke.Value > =Sum(Fields!Stroke.Value) * 2 all other operators and functions(using Fields!Stroke.Value) dont work too

  • Problem showing selected value of combobox when it is bind to a List<T> using Linq to Entities

    - by Syed Mustehsan Ikram
    I have a combobox which is has itemtemplate applied on it and is bind to a List of entity return using linq. i m using mvvm. It is bind to it successfully but when i set the selected value of it from code at runtime to show the selected value coming from db it doesn't select it. For reference here is my combobox xaml. SelectedValue="{Binding Path=SelectedManufacturer}" Grid.Column="3" Grid.Row="2" Margin="20,9.25,68,7.75" ItemTemplate="{StaticResource ManufacturerDataTemplate}" TabIndex="6"/ Here is my part from code behind from viewModel. List currentManufacturers = new List(); tblManufacturer selectedManufacturer = null; public List CurrentManufacturers { get { return currentManufacturers; } set { currentManufacturers = value; NotifyPropertyChanged("CurrentManufacturers"); } } public tblManufacturer SelectedManufacturer { get { return selectedManufacturer; } set { selectedManufacturer = currentManufacturers.Where(mm => mm.ManufacturerID == Convert.ToInt32(selectedDevice.tblManufacturer.EntityKey.EntityKeyValues[0].Value)).First(); NotifyPropertyChanged("SelectedManufacturer"); } }

  • How to save value of an element selected by the array style in jQuery ?

    - by Devyn
    Let's say we have following this: <p class="first">This is paragraph 1.</p> <p class="second">This is paragraph 2.</p> <p id="third">This is paragraph 3.</p> <p>This is paragraph 4.</p> We can save the value of an element in value variable and show like this. var value = $('p').slice(3,4); value.text(); // result --> This is paragraph 4 Above way has no problem if we know the number of element but we'll get problem if we have a lot of elements and we want to do with looping. why I get error if I do like this? $('p')[3].text(); What should I do if I want to loop and get values?

  • What is the most effective way to create BigInteger instance from int value?

    - by Roman
    I have a method (in 3rd-party library) with BigInteger parameter: public void setValue (BigInteger value) { ... } I don't need 'all its power', I only need to work with integers. So, how can I pass integers to this method? My solution is to get string value from int value and then create BigInteger from string: int i = 123; setValue (new BigInteger ("" + i)); Are there any other (recommended) ways to do that?

  • Using Rails and Rspec, how do you test that the database is not touched by a method

    - by Will Tomlins
    So I'm writing a test for a method which for performance reasons should achieve what it needs to achieve without using SQL queries. I'm thinking all I need to know is what to stub: describe SomeModel do describe 'a_getter_method' do it 'should not touch the database' do thing = SomeModel.create something_inside_rails.should_not_receive(:a_method_querying_the_database) thing.a_getter_method end end end EDIT: to provide a more specific example: class Publication << ActiveRecord::Base end class Book << Publication end class Magazine << Publication end class Student << ActiveRecord::Base has_many :publications def publications_of_type(type) #this is the method I am trying to test. #The test should show that when I do the following, the database is queried. self.publications.find_all_by_type(type) end end describe Student do describe "publications_of_type" do it 'should not touch the database' do Student.create() student = Student.first(:include => :publications) #the publications relationship is already loaded, so no need to touch the DB lambda { student.publications_of_type(:magazine) }.should_not touch_the_database end end end So the test should fail in this example, because the rails 'find_all_by' method relies on SQL.

  • Can i have a negative value as constant expression in Scala?

    - by Klinke
    I have an Java-Annotation that return a double value: @Retention(RetentionPolicy.RUNTIME) @Target(ElementType.FIELD) public @interface DoubleValue { double value(); } When i try to attach the annotation to a field in a scala class and the value is negativ like here: class Test { @DoubleValue(-0.05) var a = _ } i get an compiler error with the message: "annotation argument needs to be a constant; found: 0.05.unary_-". I understood that i need a numerical literal and i looked into the Scala Language Specification and it seems, that the - sign is only used for the exponent but not for the mantissa. Does someone has an idea how i can have a negative value as runtime information using annotations? Thanks, Klinke

  • Using GetLineStartPosition to get the end of a line in WPF RichTextBox.

    - by Alan Spark
    A bit of background. I would like to be able to process text for the line that the caret is on in a WPF RichTextBox. Please see my earlier question about the TextPointer class: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3046162/how-to-keep-track-of-textpointer-in-wpf-richtextbox. I know how to get the TextPointer at the start of the current line by using GetLineStartPosition with 0 as the argument but would now like to get the TextPointer at the end of the line. It was suggested in my previous question that this is possible using the GetLineStartPosition method. I would appreciate it if someone can explain a bit about how the GetLineStartPosition works with regard to end of line pointers. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Unix - "xargs" - output "in the middle" (not at the end!)

    - by Petike
    Hello, example use of "xargs" application in Unix can be something like this: ls | xargs echo which is the same as (let's say I have "someFile" and "someDir/" in the working dir): echo someFile someDir so "xargs" take its "input" and place it "at the end" of the next command (here at the end of echo). But sometimes I want xargs to place its input somewhere "in the middle" of next command. For example: find . -type f -name "*.cpp" -print | xargs g++ -o outputFile so if I had in the current directory files "a.cpp" "b.cpp" "c.cpp" the output would be the same as with the command: g++ -o outputFile a.cpp b.cpp c.cpp but I want to have something like this: g++ a.cpp b.cpp c.cpp -o outputFile Is there a way to do it? P.S.: I need it in some cases, because e.g.: i586-mingw32msvc-g++ -o outputFile `pkg-config --cflags --libs gtkmm-2.4` a.cpp b.cpp c.cpp doesn't work but this one works fine: i586-mingw32msvc-g++ a.cpp b.cpp c.cpp -o outputFile `pkg-config --cflags --libs gtkmm-2.4` Thanks. • How to get a column value contained in SqlDataSource to a variable.

  • does the condition after && always get evaluated

    - by brett
    I have this if statement that tests for the 2 conditions below. The second one is a function `goodToGo() so I want to call it unless the first condition is already true $value = 2239; if ($value < 2000 && goodToGo($value)){ //do stuff } function goodToGo($value){ $ret = //some processing of the value return $ret; } My question is about the 2 if conditions $value < 2000 && goodToGo($value). Do they both get evaluated or does the second one only get evaluated when the first one is true? In other words, are the following 2 blocks the same? if($value < 2000 && goodToGo($value)) { //stuff to do } if($value < 2000) { if (goodToGo($value)){ //stuff to do } }

  • Can someone help with big O notation?

    - by Dann
    void printScientificNotation(double value, int powerOfTen) { if (value >= 1.0 && value < 10.0) { System.out.println(value + " x 10^" + powerOfTen); } else if (value < 1.0) { printScientificNotation(value * 10, powerOfTen - 1); } else // value >= 10.0 { printScientificNotation(value / 10, powerOfTen + 1); } } I understand how the method goes but I cannot figure out a way to represent the method. For example, if value was 0.00000009 or 9e-8, the method will call on printScientificNotation(value * 10, powerOfTen - 1); eight times and System.out.println(value + " x 10^" + powerOfTen); once. So the it is called recursively by the exponent for e. But how do I represent this by big O notation? Thanks!

  • How do I fix the alpha value after calling GDI text functions?

    - by Daniel Stutzbach
    I have a application that uses the Aero glass effect, so each pixel has an alpha value in addition to red, green, and blue values. I have one custom-draw control that has a solid white background (alpha = 255). I would like to draw solid text on the control using the GDI text functions. However, these functions set the alpha value to an arbitrary value, causing the text to translucently show whatever window is beneath my application's. After calling rendering the text, I would like to go through all of the pixels in the control and set their alpha value back to 255. What's the best way to do that? I haven't had any luck with the BitBlt, GetPixel, and SetPixel functions. They appear to be oblivious to the alpha value. Here are other solutions that I have considered and rejected: Draw to a bitmap, then copy the bitmap to the device: With this approach, the text rendering does not make use of the characteristics of the monitor (e.g., ClearText). Use GDI+ for text rendering: This application originally used GDI+ for text rendering (before I started working on Aero support). I switched to GDI because of difficulties I encountered trying to accurately measure strings with GDI+. I'd rather not switch back. Set the Aero region to avoid the control in question: My application's window is actually a child window of a different application running in a different process. I don't have direct control over the Aero settings on the top-level window. The application is written in C# using Windows Forms, though I'm not above using Interop to call Win32 API functions.

  • Triggering Quartz job from JSF (Any front end)- How to wait for the job execution to be over

    - by Maximus
    I am developing a front end to trigger a quartz job on the fly. I have a form in the JSF page whose click action will dynamically trigger a quartz job. The job is invoked by the following statement, the job is triggered and everything works fine. scheduler.triggerJob("Job1",Scheduler.DEFAULT_GROUP,jobDataMap); From what I understand the job seems to run in a separate thread and the execution of the calling function does not wait for the job to be over. Since I am invoking the job from front end, I would like to wait till the job is over before I navigate to a different JSF page. So I can display an error message if the job fails. I would also like to display a message to the user, "Processing job, please wait.." until the job is actually over. Any ideas on how to accomplish this will be appreciated. Thanks !

  • Can I prevent a user from using windows task manager to end a process?

    - by Russ
    I have a c# 4.0 application that I hear grumblings and rumors about problems with. Now, this application has a global unhandled exception handler that reports back to me with errors. I also know that it works because SOME people fill it in, and submit it. It seems though; that a large number of people do NOT fill it in, but instead, use the Windows Taskmanager to end the process. Is it possible to prevent a user from using the Windows Taskmanager to end a specific process? My goal would be that if the application crashes, the form that the user is presented with prevents the process from being ended. I'll also accept steps that would prevent the Windows Taskmanager from being launched. I know I have seen some processes come up with an "Access Denied" prompt when I try to kill it in TaskManager, however I suspect that the windows team has made this very difficult, if not impossible to achieve.

  • Access as a front-end to SQL Server - ADO vs DAO?

    - by webworm
    I have a project that will be using Access 2003 as the font-end and the data being stored in SQL Server. Access will connect to SQL Server via linked tables with all the database logic (stored procedures, views) within SQL Server. Given this setup, would it be better to use ADO or DAO within Access? Is it just a matter of preference or is one more suited to Access as a font-end and SQL Server as the data store? Especially when using linked tables. Thanks.

  • Encryption in PHP leaves unwanted characters

    - by MichaelH
    I have made an encryption function which encrypts a simple value and stores it in the database. Here is the code to encrypt and decrypt: public function encrypt($string){ $iv_size = mcrypt_get_iv_size(MCRYPT_RIJNDAEL_128, MCRYPT_MODE_ECB); $iv = mcrypt_create_iv($iv_size, MCRYPT_RAND); $value = mcrypt_encrypt(MCRYPT_RIJNDAEL_128, $this->key256, $string, MCRYPT_MODE_ECB, $iv); $value = base64_encode($value); return $value; } public function decrypt($string){ $value = base64_decode($string); $value = mcrypt_decrypt(MCRYPT_RIJNDAEL_128, $this->key256, $value, MCRYPT_MODE_ECB); return $value; } When I encrypt a simple value such as 'Michael' and decrypt again, I get the value: Michael????????? Is there a reason I get all those question marks or a way to get rid of them?

  • How to move value from the stack to ST(0)?

    - by George Edison
    I am having trouble believing the following code is the most efficient way to move a value from the stack to ST(0): .data var dd 4.2 tmp dd ? .code mov EAX, var push EAX ; top of stack now contains a value ; move it to ST(0) pop EAX mov tmp, EAX fld tmp Is the temporary variable really necessary? Further, is there an easier way to get a value from the stack to ST(0)?

  • x=["key" => "value"]. How does it work in Ruby?

    - by Earlz
    Ok, so I was comparing some stuff in my own DSL to Ruby. One construct they both support is this x=["key" => "value"] Knowing the difference between arrays and hashes, I would think this to be illegal, but the result in Ruby is [{"key" => "value"}] Why is this? And with this kinda syntax why can't you do x=("key" => "value") Why is an array a special case for implicitly created hashes?

  • Prevent <xsi:nil="true"> on Nullable Value Types when Serializing to XML.

    - by Nat Ryall
    I have added some nullable value types to my serializable class. I perform a serialization using XmlSerializer but when the value is set to null, I get an empty node with xsi:nil="true". This is the correct behaviour as I have found here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ybce7f69%28VS.80%29.aspx Is there a way to switch off this option so that nothing is output when the value type is null?
