  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 on Windows 7 print to network share gives error

    I've recently upgraded a client's workstations to brand new computers, with Windows 7 Professional. The server is still Windows Server 2003. The server has 2-3 file shares that get mapped to users' workstations as drives. The client has also upgraded from Acrobat 6.0 to 9.0 Pro. Since the upgrade, when the client tries to print to the Adobe PDF printer (aka convert something to PDF via the printer interface), it gives an error in the queue if the file is being saved on the network drive. If I instead provide a local path, the file "prints" fine. Additionally, if I change the Adobe PDF printer's settings to "don't spool, print directly to printer", it prints to the network share fine, but then it resets that setting every time. Things I've checked for: Permissions on the network share. The user and the computer has full access. We even gave the "Everyone" ibject full access. Reinstall Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 Run updates to upgrade to 9.3.4 Has anyone else bumped into such a problem? The support fellows from Adobe are just taking me around in circles. They don't seem to have a clue either.

  • Scanner Installation: Epson Perfection 3170 Photo, Windows 7 & Adobe Acrobat

    I installed the Driver v3.04A from Epson's Web site -- epson12180.exe that is supposedly for Windows 7. Now, the scanner works by itself, i.e. if I hit the scan button I get a dialog menu and can scan with one of the options there but not with Adobe Acrobat. What I need is to have it working from Adobe Acrobat when I go File - Create PDF - From Scanner - Custom Scan... The current state is that I see Scanner: "Please select a device" and no other available devices. I remember I used to see at least 2 other like "WIA Epson Perfection" and smth like "Epson Perfection". "WIA Epson Perfection" is the option that I am hoping to see to move on. Scanner: Epson Perfection 3170 Photo System: Windows 7, 64-bit Software: Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

  • Disable Save Changes dialoge in Adobe Reader X

    Yes, I've read and done the steps listed here with no results: Disable 'Save changes' dialog in Adobe Reader Basically what happens is with certain pdf documents, whenever I try to close them, it prompts me to save changes. This baffles me, as per their FAQ, Reader can't save anything, and I didn't make changes to the document in the first place. The one cause I could think of would be that the documents may not have been created with Adobe software, and as such may not write the pdfs in a way that makes Adobe happy.

    I am attempting to check for updates using the Adobe Application Manager on Windows 8 and I get this error: The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or the Internet or firewall settings may be incorrect. I have seen this error before on Windows 7 and remembered that I needed to disable the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter. I navigated to the correct place but the Miniport Adapter was not there. After a bit of searching across several forums I saw a recommendation to change <logLevel>2</logLevel> to <logLevel>10</logLevel>. I attempted that and again it still did not work. I have also tried disabling my anti-virus protection and disabling Windows Firewall. Neither worked. I am not sure what else to try or do at this point. Are there any other recommendations to solve this issue? Notes: I am running Windows 8 Pro using the Creative Cloud Version of CS6. I check for updates by choosing Help Updates from within any Adobe Application This issue was not present in Windows 7 before I upgraded to Windows 8 I originally posted this question on the Adobe Forums and received no help there.

    I'm interested in learning what resources there are for integrating Java and Adobe Professional, in general. If it helps, my projects already use the Spring Framework. My boss is particularly interested in being able to fill out a PDF form from within a Java webapp and have that data go directly to our database. She mentioned that .net had a lot of bridges to Adobe Professional. I would rather new projects be in Java so I am eager to find if there are any easy bridges between Java and Adobe Professional. I changed all the namespaces as suggested, but I cannot get anything from the fx: namespace using the Flex Builder code completion, as well as the spark List class.

    I use Adobe Illustrator extensively for mobile development. For example, for Android app, I have many illustrations with different densities and sizes. I use many effects such as outer glow, round corners and such. However, sometimes, when I close the .ai file and re-open it later, I found all my objects expanded. Effects are expanded. For example, the round corner effect is now expanded and I cannot re-size any object. I am using a MacBook Pro. I am suspecting both Time Machine and Dropbox. As much as I can recall, it also appears with CS6 version, not CS5.

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader don't zoom out the page enough in "one page" mode

    I'm using Adobe Acrobat Reader version 9.4 under Debian Lenny. I'm experiencing a problem: when I push the "Show one page at a time" button, I expect the page to zoom such that pressing PgUp/PgDn would turn to the next/previous page. However, the zoom seems to be not enough - very thin bottom portion of the page doesn't fit inside the reader window, and pressing PgUp/PgDn gives the jitter of the same page, and I have to push twice to get to the next page. It is even worse in continuous page mode - a roll of pages begin to be non-synced with window boundaries, ending up with page break right in the middle of the view after several turns of the pages. This behaviour doesn't occur on windows version - I have a page properly zoomed in single/continuous modes, so that turning the pages is performed as page-at-once, as intended. How to make the Acrobat Reader fit the page to window properly? Thats how it looks before pressing PgDn (notice the bottom edge of the "paper" hidden beneath the bottom window edge): Thats how it looks after pressing PgDn (notice the "paper" bottom edge emerged from beneath the window edge, while the "paper" upper edge hides behind the upper window edge, showing that the document window size is not enough to contain the whole page):

    So, I am new to Applescript editor and I am trying to write code to automatically update computers. For some odd reason I can not seem to get Adobe to update successfully. I tried using Accessibility Inspector, but nothing appeared like AXButton So is there even a way of writing code for Adobe when there is not an AXButton option?     We have three applications developed in Flex and all these use BlazeDS. These applications have their own authentication implementations (Database). Also they will be deployed in tomcat. Deploying all these applications in the same tomcat instance is acceptable for us. We want to bring the authentication credentials of all these applications into a single place and also provide SSO feature between these applications. We also want the authentication module to be configurable. Something like the system administrator can decide if the authentication should be done against a database or LDAP. Say, if the user successfully logs into app1, and when he access app2 in the same browser he should be automatically logged in. Same goes for logout as well. We have been exploring OpenAM, jGuard and JOSSO. I'm not sure if these require lot of customization to work with Flex. I would like to know how people are implementing SSO for Flex applications. Is there a common and simple SSO solution available for Flex based applications ?

    I am writing a flex application that involves modifying a textarea very frequently. I have encountered issues with the textarea sometimes not displaying my modifications. But, if you are typing into the textarea at the same time, you will notice the text the timer prints is distorted. I am really curious as to why this happens. The single-threaded nature of flex and disabling user input for the textarea when I make modifications should prevent this from happening, but for some reason this doesn't seem to be working. I must note too that, when running the timer at larger intervals (around 100ms) it seems to work perfectly, so I am tempted to think it's some kind of synchronization issue in the internals of the flex framework. Any ideas on what could be causing the problem?
