  • Nginx + PHP-FPM Too Many Resources

    - by user3393046
My Server has the following Specs CPU: 6 Cores Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2650 v2 @ 2.60GHz RAM: 32 GB I have a problem with nginx+php-fpm. They are taking too many resources for an unknown reason. Even if i restart the nginx + php-fpm the start up processes will use many resources. My nginx Config is the following: user nginx; worker_processes auto; error_log /var/log/nginx/error.log warn; pid /var/run/nginx.pid; worker_rlimit_nofile 300000; events { worker_connections 6000; use epoll; } http { include /etc/nginx/mime.types; default_type application/octet-stream; log_format main '$remote_addr - $remote_user [$time_local] "$request" ' '$status $body_bytes_sent "$http_referer" ' '"$http_user_agent" "$http_x_forwarded_for"'; access_log /var/log/nginx/access.log main; sendfile on; #tcp_nopush on; keepalive_timeout 65; #gzip on; include /etc/nginx/conf.d/*.conf; } My php-fpm pool config is the following [www] user = nginx group = nginx listen = /var/run/php5-fpm.sock listen.owner = nginx listen.group = nginx listen.allowed_clients = 127.0.0.1 pm = ondemand pm.max_children = 1500; pm.process_idle_timeout = 5; chdir = / security.limit_extensions = .php I'm using on pm.ondemand since my website has to support many concurrent connections at the same time and i was unable to to it with dynamic/static. I guess this isnt the problem because as i said earlier when i restart nginx+php-fpm at the same time, they are taking too much resources without any request. Here is the screenshot with the CPU Usage http://s28.postimg.org/v54q25zod/Untitled.png

  • Taking HRMS to the Cloud to Simplify Human Resources Management

    - by HCM-Oracle
By Anke Mogannam With human capital management (HCM) a top-of-mind issue for executives in every industry, human resources (HR) organizations are poised to have their day in the sun—proving not just their administrative worth but their strategic value as well.  To make good on that promise, however, HR must modernize. Indeed, if HR is to act as an agent of change—providing the swift reallocation of employees  and the rapid absorption of employee data required for enterprises to shift course on a dime—it must first deal with the disruptive change at its own front door. And increasingly, that means choosing the right technology and human resources management system (HRMS) for managing the entire employee lifecycle. Unfortunately, for most organizations, this task has proved easier said than done. This is because while much has been written about advances in HRMS technology, until recently, most of those advances took the form of disparate on-premises solutions designed to serve very specific purposes. Although this may have resulted in key competencies in certain areas, it also meant that processes for core HR functions like payroll and benefits were being carried out in separate systems from those used for talent management, workforce optimization, training, and so on. With no integration—and no single system of record—processes were disconnected, ease of use was impeded, user experience was diminished, and vital data was left untapped.  Today, however, that scenario has begun to change, and end-to-end cloud-based HCM solutions have moved from wished-for innovations to real-life solutions. Why, then, have HR organizations been so slow in adopting them? The answer—it would seem—is, “It’s complicated.” So complicated, in fact, that 45 percent of the respondents to PwC’s “Annual HR Technology Survey” (for 2013) reported having no formal HR software roadmap, and 40 percent stated that they “did not know” whether their organizations would be increasing their use of cloud or software as a service (SaaS) for HR.  Clearly, HR organizations need help sorting through the morass of HR software options confronting them. But just as clearly, there’s an enormous opportunity awaiting those that do. The trick will come in charting a course that allows HR to leverage existing technology while investing in the cloud-based solutions that will deliver the end-to-end processes, easy-to-understand analytics, and superior adaptability required to simplify—and add value to—every aspect of employee management. The Opportunity therefore is to cut costs, drive Innovation, and increase engagement by moving to cloud-based HCM.  Then you will benefit from one Interface, leverage many access points, and  gain at-a-glance insight across your entire workforce. With many legacy on-premises HR systems not being efficient anymore and cloud-based, integrated systems that span the range of HR functions finally reaching maturity, the time is ripe for moving core HR to the cloud. Indeed, for the first time ever there are more HRMS replacement initiatives than HRMS upgrade initiatives under way, and the majority of them involve moving to the cloud per Cedar Crestone’s 2013-2014 HRMS survey. To learn how you can launch your own cloud HCM initiative and begin using HR to power the enterprise, visit Oracle HRMS in the Cloud and Oracle’s new customer 2 cloud program. • Checking out systems programming, what should I learn, using what resources?

    - by Anto
I have done some hobby application development, but now I'm interested in checking out systems programming (mainly operating systems, Linux kernel etc.). I know low-level languages like C, and I know minimal amounts of x86 Assembly (should I improve on it?). What resources/books/websites/projects etc. do you recommend for one to get started with systems programming and what topics are important? Note that I know close to nothing about the subject, so whatever resources you suggest should be introductory resources. I still know what the subject is and what it includes etc., but I have not done systems programming before (but some application development, as previously noted, and I'm familiar with a bunch of programming languages as well as software engineering in general and algorithms, data structures etc.).

  • puppet duplicate resources and virtual resources

    - by user45097
Overview Hi just started using Puppet and have been unable to suss something. Problem Because of normalization when I add 2 classes to a node with packages that have the same dependencies it fails. In simple terms have duplicate resources - in this case the package libssl. Note: packages are being held to prevent latest packages being installed. QUestion What's the best practice way to get round this? class ssh { package { 'openssh-server': ensure = installed, require = libssl } package { 'libssl': ensure = installed, } } class apache { package { 'apache': ensure = installed, require = libssl, } package { 'libssl': ensure = installed, } } node server { include apache include openssl-server

  • android - using resources drawable in content provider

    - by Russ Wheeler
I am trying to pass back an image through a content provider in a separate app. I have two apps, one with the activity in (app a), the other with content provider (app b) I have app a reading an image off my SD card via app b using the following code. App a: public void but_update(View view) { ContentResolver resolver = getContentResolver(); Uri uri = Uri.parse("content://com.jash.cp_source_two.provider/note/1"); InputStream inStream = null; try { inStream = resolver.openInputStream(uri); Bitmap bitmap = BitmapFactory.decodeStream(inStream); image = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.imageView1); image.setImageBitmap(bitmap); } catch(FileNotFoundException e) { Toast.makeText(getBaseContext(), "error = "+e, Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); } finally { if (inStream != null) { try { inStream.close(); } catch (IOException e) { Log.e("test", "could not close stream", e); } } } }; App b: @Override public ParcelFileDescriptor openFile(Uri uri, String mode) throws FileNotFoundException { try { File path = new File(Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory().getAbsolutePath(),"pic2.png"); return ParcelFileDescriptor.open(path,ParcelFileDescriptor.MODE_READ_ONLY); } catch (FileNotFoundException e) { Log.i("r", "File not found"); throw new FileNotFoundException(); } } In app a I am able to display an image from app a's resources folder, using setImageURi and constructing a URI using the following code. int id = R.drawable.a2; Resources resources = getBaseContext().getResources(); Uri uri = Uri.parse(ContentResolver.SCHEME_ANDROID_RESOURCE + "://" + resources.getResourcePackageName(id) + '/' + resources.getResourceTypeName(id) + '/' + resources.getResourceEntryName(id) ); image = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.imageView1); image.setImageURI(uri); However, if I try to do the same in app b (read from app b's resources folder rather than the image on the SD card) it doesn't work, saying it can't find the file, even though I am creating the path of the file from the resource, so it is definitely there. Any ideas? Does it restrict sending resources over the content provider somehow? P.S. I also got an error when I tried to create the file with File path = new File(uri); saying 'there is no applicable constructor to '(android.net.Uri)' though http://developer.android.com/reference/java/io/File.html#File(java.net.URI) Seems to think it's possible...unless java.net.URI is different to android.net.URI, in which case can I convert them? Thanks Russ

  • Is it unprofessional to leave game resources to the open eye?

    - by ThePlan
I'm still having problems packing my resources, after going through complicated APIs and basically just zip files which are exhausting my brain, I thought I could also pack the game with the resources visible to the human eye, in a simple folder. Would that be unprofessional? Personally, I've never even seen games do that, it would basically mean that the player could just edit whatever he wants in the game, like go in map1.txt and add an X somewhere to create a wall, or change the player sprite to a pony in MS PAINT.

  • iphone: cross platform references and referencing external framework resources

    - by dan
hi there working on an iphone app and separate framework. the separate framework is for an API that i'm building for use in multiple future apps. this api now needs to reference resources (images). what i would like to do is keep the resources WITH the API framework as local set of resources. i followed the instructions from http://www.clintharris.net/2009/iphone-app-shared-libraries/ to setup my app's project to use the headers from the separate API framework. what i can't seem to figure out is how to automatically load the framework's resources into the app's xcode environment so they can be linked in at app compile time. sure, i can drag the resources across from the framework into the main app's set of resources. but that seems kinda ugly and another step that possibly can be automated (??) anyone know of a better way? it would be great if any changes from the framework would be automatically available in the main app (due to the project 'link-age'). thanks for any help/tips/suggestions...

  • Security Resources

    - by dr.pooter
What types of sites do you visit, on a regular basis, to stay current on information security issues? Some examples from my list include: http://isc.sans.org/ http://www.kaspersky.com/viruswatch3 http://www.schneier.com/blog/ http://blog.fireeye.com/research/ As well as following the security heavyweights on twitter. I'm curious to hear what resources you recommend for daily monitoring. Anything specific to particular operating systems or other software. Are mailing lists still considered valuable. My goal would be to trim the cruft of all the things I'm currently subscribed to and focus on the essentials.

  • Assigning resources to MS Project 2007

    - by adam
Hi, I'm planning a redesign of a site in Project 2007. I have three developers to hand, all with the same skills. There are about 80 templates to be rendered as part of the redesign, and each template has been added as a project task. Each of these tasks can be done by any of the 3 devs, and each will take a day (with a few exceptions). There is no order in which the tasks must be completed, so there are no predecessor rules. I'd like to be able to assign tasks to a 'Developer' resource group, and for Project to see that three tasks can be done at once (as the group has three resources members) and queue the tasks as such. Googling leads me to Team Assignment, but that appears to be part of Project Server. Surely I can do this in standalone Project? Thanks, Adam

  • Organize code in Chef: libraries, classes and resources

    - by ColOfAbRiX
I am new to both Chef and Ruby and I am implementing some scripts to learn them. Now I am facing the problem of how to organize my code: I have created a class in the library directory and I have used a custom namespace to maintain order. This is a simplified example of my file: # ~/chef-repo/cookbooks/mytest/libraries/MyTools.rb module Chef::Recipe::EP class MyTools def self.print_something( text ) puts "This is my text: #{text}" end def self.copy_file( dir, file ) cookbook_file "#{dir}/#{file}" do source "#{dir}/#{file}" end end end end From my recipe I call both methods: # ~/chef-repo/cookbooks/mytest/recipes/default.rb EP::MyTools.print_something "Hello World!" EP::MyTools.copy_file "/etc", "passwd" print_something works fine, but with copy_file I get this error: undefined method `cookbook_file' for Chef::Recipe::EP::FileTools:Class It's clear to me that I don't know how to create libraries in Chef or I don't know some basic assumptions. Can anyone help me, please? I am looking for a solution of this problem (organize my code, libraries, use resources in classes) or, better, a good Chef documentation as I find the documentation very deficient in clarity and disorganized so that research through it is a pain.

  • Terminal Server 2003 Login Issue - Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested ser

    - by LP
Afternoon. We have three identical terminal servers running Windows Server 2003 SP2, on these servers there are about 250 concurrent users logged on. We're running Roaming Profiles on a central server running Active Directory which cache the profiles locally on each terminal server as well. When one, and just that one, user tries to login she gets this error message (roughly translated from Swedish): "You could not be logged in becouse your principle could not be registered. Check that you're connected to the network or ask your administrator Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service." Anyone have an idea about this? I'm stumped ... Best Regards LP

  • Configuring the SOA Human Task Hostname by Antonis Antoniou

    - by JuergenKress
When a human task is opened in BPM Workspace, it will try by default to connect to either localhost or the server's alias. So if you try to access the BPM Workspace remotely (from a computer other than where Oracle SOA is running) you will get an http error (unable to connect). You can fix this issue at run-time using the Enterprise Manager (EM). Login to EM and from the farm navigator select your composite by expanding the "SOA", "soa-infra" and your partition node. • Enumerating .NET assembly resources at runtime

    - by Alex_P
I have a resource assembly with image files in it that are built using Resource or Content build action. This makes these files accessible using the Uris. However I cannot find the way to enumerate such resources. If I set the build action to Embedded Resource it becomes possible to enumerate the files with the following code: string[] resources = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetManifestResourceNames(); but it in turn makes these files inaccessible using Uris. The question is - how to enumerate resources that are compiled with either Resource or Content build action? NOTE: As Thomas Levesque pointed out it is possible to enumerate such resources by leveraging the AssemblyAssociatedContentFileAttribute, but it seems to only work for WPF Application assemblies and not for class library ones. So the question is still open.

  • WPF resource merged to Application.Resources but not resolved at runtime

    - by arconaut
I have a brush that is part of a ResourceDictionary that is merged to Application.Resources. But for some reason it's not resolved at runtime when a style is being applied to one of the controls. However, if I call Application.Current.FindResource("BrushName") from the Immediate Window at the time when exception is thrown, the resource is found. Am I missing something? Isn't WPF supposed to try to look for the resource in the app's resources? UPDATE The application is quite big, so I can't post all actual code but here's the way the resources are merged and used: Brushes.xaml <ResourceDictionary ...> <SolidColorBrush x:Key="BrushName" Color="#12345678" /> <\ResourceDictionary> SomeStyles.xaml <ResourceDictionary ...> <Style x:Key="SomeStyle"> <Setter Property="SomeProperty" Value="{StaticResource BrushName}" /> </Style> </ResourceDictionary> App.xaml <Application ...> <Application.Resources> <ResourceDictionary> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="Brushes.xaml" /> <ResourceDictionary Source="SomeStyles.xaml" /> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> </Application.Resources> </Application ...> And then some control might use the style using the resource like this: ... Style={StaticResource SomeStyle} ...

  • Rails "NoMethodError" with sub-resources

    - by Tchock
Hi. I'm a newbie Rails developer who is getting the following error when trying to access the 'new' action on my CityController: undefined method `cities_path' for #<#<Class:0x104608c18>:0x104606f08> Extracted source (around line #2): 1: <h1>New City</h1> 2: <%= form_for(@city) do |f| %> 3: <%= f.error_messages %> 4: 5: <div class="field"> As some background, I have a State model with many Cities. I'm getting this error after clicking on the following link coming from a State show page: <p>Add a city: <%= link_to "Add city", new_state_city_path(@state) %></p> When I run 'rake:routes' it says this is a legit route... For more background, here is the CityController 'new' action: def new @city = City.new respond_to do |format| format.html # new.html.erb format.xml { render :xml => @city } end end Here is the (complete) form in the view: <%= form_for(@city) do |f| %> <%= f.error_messages %> <div class="field"> <%= f.label :name %><br /> <%= f.text_field :name %> </div> <div class="actions"> <%= f.submit %> </div> <% end %> This initially made me think that it's a resources/routes issue since it came back with a mention of 'cities_path' (in fact, that's what another person posting to Stack Overflow had wrong (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/845315/rails-error-nomethoderror-my-first-ruby-app). However, that doesn't seem to be the case from what I can see. Here are how my resources look in my routes file: resources :states do resources :cities end I can get it working when they are not sub-resources, but I really need to keep them as sub-resources for my future plans with the app. Any help would be very much appreciated, since I've been racking my brains on this for more hours than I would care to admit... Thanks! (Not sure this matters at all, but I'm running the very latest version of Rails 3 beta2).

  • Resources access problem from JAR

    - by aeter
I have the following directory structure of a project: Folder "project" in Eclipse: --folder "src" --folder "resources" ----trayicon2.png --folder "db" ----test.db --folder "bin" I'm accessing the image with: Image image = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage("resources/trayicon2.png"); and from Eclipse that is not a problem. Then I generate an "executable jar file", and add the dirs, making a directory structure of: Folder "project" --folder "db" ----test.db --folder "resources" ----trayicon2.png --project.jar And now the image is no more accessible. Also, the database is no more accessible; while in Eclipse I used to access it with: Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:sqlite:db/test.db"); How can I access the resources (images and db) after generating the jar file "project.jar"?

  • asp.net global resources problem

    - by Bystrik Jurina
Hello. I have a weird problem with global resources in my asp.net mvc web application. I have some resources in separate project(not a web app project). Those resources have following settings: Build action: Embedded Resource, Copy To Output Directory: Do not copy, Custom Tool: ResXFileCodeGenerator. When I change an existing value in resource file, build solution in release mode and upload neccesary dll files back to server, the previous values in resources are still shown. However, when I add a new key into resource file, the value of this key is shown properly. I do not have this problem during debugging on localhost. Thanks

  • Displaying xaml resources dynamically?

    - by Robert
I used Mike Swanson's illustrator to xaml converter to convert some of my images to xaml. The convert creates a viewbox that contains the image. These viewboxes I made resource files in my program. The code below shows what I'm trying to do: I have a viewmodel that has an enum variable called PrimaryWinding of type Windings. The values PrimD and PrimY of the enum select the respective PrimD and PrimY xaml files in the resources. <UserControl.Resources> <DataTemplate x:Key="PrimTrafo" DataType="{x:Type l:Windings}"> <Frame Source="{Binding}" x:Name="PART_Image" NavigationUIVisibility="Hidden"> <Frame.LayoutTransform> <ScaleTransform ScaleX="0.5" ScaleY="0.5"/> </Frame.LayoutTransform> </Frame> <DataTemplate.Triggers> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding}" Value="PrimD"> <Setter TargetName="PART_Image" Property="Source" Value="Resources\PrimD.xaml" /> </DataTrigger> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding}" Value="PrimY"> <Setter TargetName="PART_Image" Property="Source" Value="Resources\PrimY.xaml" /> </DataTrigger> </DataTemplate.Triggers> </DataTemplate> </UserControl.Resources> <!--The contentcontrol that holds the datatemplate defined above--> <Grid > <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="2*"></ColumnDefinition> <ColumnDefinition Width="2*"></ColumnDefinition> <ColumnDefinition Width="1*"></ColumnDefinition> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ContentControl Grid.Column="0" Content="{Binding PrimaryWinding}" ContentTemplate="{StaticResource PrimTrafo}"/> </Grid> This code works. Only I can't resize the drawings to the size of the grid cell. I added the ScaleTransform class to resize the image. Is a Frame the wrong class to hold the drawings? Should I use the ScaleTransform class to resize the drawing to the size of the cell? And how can I do that dynamically?

  • book about psychology of decision and psychology of human

    - by boos
I'm a unix developer and i want to make career in project/people management as first step. I think sometimes is better to have good communication skill and in general more human skill to make career more fast. Almost in Italy, a lot of people made career development more fast for his human skill and not for his technical skill. Anyone have read some book about psychology to better manage how people and personality work and to exploit decision making situation in the right way? I have found some interesting book about people personality and psychology of decision, but i am in doubt about the usefulness about reading such book. anyone have some experience in this path ? Anyone have found useful to read similar book about how people work, to manage career development in a more fast way and handle people and decision in a more useful way? i have already read peopleware. The table of content of one of this book have: 1 - Judicment and decision 2 - Euristics and sistematics error 3 - Estimating probability and frequency prediction 4 - Risk and decision 5 - rappresentation and decision 6 - Memory, attention and decision. Etc. what do you think about ?

  • Manipulating Human Tasks (for testing) by Mark Nelson

    - by JuergenKress
A few months ago, while working on a BPM migration, I had the need to look at the status of human tasks, and to manipulate them – essentially to just have a single user take random actions on them at some interval, to help drive a set of processes that were being tested. To do this, I wrote a little utility called httool.  It reuses some of the core domain classes from my custom worklist sample (with minimal changes to make it a remote client instead of a local one). I have not got around to documenting it yet, but it is pretty simple and fairly self explanatory.  So I thought I would go ahead and share it with folks, in case anyone is interested in playing with it. You can get the code from my ci-samples repository on java.net: git clone git://java.net/ci4fmw~ci-samples It is in the httool directory. I do plan to get back to this “one day” and enhance it to be more intelligent – target particular task types, update the payload, follow a set of “rules” about what action to take – so that I can use it for more driving more interesting test scenarios.  If anyone is feeling generous with their time, and interested, please feel free to join the java.net project and hack away to your heart’s content. • The Oldest Big Data Problem: Parsing Human Language

    - by dan.mcclary
There's a new whitepaper up on Oracle Technology Network which details the use of Digital Reasoning Systems' Synthesys software on Oracle Big Data Appliance.  Digital Reasoning's approach is inherently "big data friendly," as it leverages multiple components of the Hadoop ecosystem.  Moreover, the paper addresses the oldest big data problem of them all: extracting knowledge from human text.   You can find the paper here.   From the Executive Summary: There is a wealth of information to be extracted from natural language, but that extraction is challenging. The volume of human language we generate constitutes a natural Big Data problem, while its complexity and nuance requires a particular expertise to model and mine. In this paper we illustrate the impressive combination of Oracle Big Data Appliance and Digital Reasoning Synthesys software. The combination of Synthesys and Big Data Appliance makes it possible to analyze tens of millions of documents in a matter of hours. Moreover, this powerful combination achieves four times greater throughput than conducting the equivalent analysis on a much larger cloud-deployed Hadoop cluster.
