  • creative way for implementing Data object with its corresponding business logic class in java

    I have a class that need to be serialized (for both persistentcy and client-server communication) for simplicity's sake let's call the classes Business a BusinessData and I prefix for their Interfaces. All the getter and setter are delegated from Business class to BusinessData class. I thought about implementing IBusinessData interface that will contain all the getter and setters and IBusiness interface that will extend it. I can either make Business extend BuisnessData so I will not need to implement all getter and setter delegates, or make some abstract class ForwardingBusinessData that will only delegate getter and setters. Any of the above option I lose my hierarchy freedom, do any of you have any creative solutions for this problem... I also reviewed DAO pattern: http://java.sun.com/blueprints/patterns/DAO.html

  • C# - Rollback SqlTransaction in catch block - Problem with object accessability

    Hi there. I've got a problem, and all articles or examples i found seem to not care about it. I want to do some database actions in a transaction. What i want to do is very similar to most examples: using (SqlConnection Conn = new SqlConnection(_ConnectionString)) { try { Conn.Open(); SqlTransaction Trans = Conn.BeginTransaction(); using (SqlCommand Com = new SqlCommand(ComText, Conn)) { /* DB work */ } } catch (Exception Ex) { Trans.Rollback(); return -1; } } But the problem is, that the SqlTransaction Trans is declared inside the try block. So it is not accessable in the catch() block. Most examples just do Conn.Open() and Conn.BeginTransaction() before the try block. But i think thats a bit risky, since both can throw multiple exceptions. Am I wrong, or do most people just ignore this risk? Whats the best solution to be able to rollback, if an exception happens.   • Strange issues with view switcher after object animator animations

    I have two LinearLayout views that contain a number of edit texts and checkboxes for entering user information (name, email address etc). When a validation fails on one of these fields a gone textview is displayed showing the validation error. I have enclosed the two layouts within a ViewSwitcher and I animate between the two views using the ObjectAnimator class. (Since the code needs to support older versions of Android I am actually using the nineoldandroids backwards compatibility library for this). The bulk of the work is performed in my switchToChild method. If I flip the views more than twice then I start to run into strange errors. Firstly although the correct child view of the view animator is displayed it seems that the other view has focus and I can click on the views beneath the current one. I resolved this issue by adding a viewSwitcher.bringChildToFront at the end of the first animation. When I do this however and perform a validation on the 2nd view the "gone" view that I have now set to visible is not displayed (as if the linearlayout is never being re-measured).     I am using a dynamic model found on the forum of sencha. function modelFactory(name, fields) { alert(fields); return Ext.define(name, { extend: 'Ext.data.Model', fields: fields }); } I placed the alert(fields) to check what happens with the field because it was not working. I get this: [object Object],[object Object],[object Object] How can i change this into a correct way to use it in the fields? Is there a way to check if the model has been created? With Firebug or something?     I'm designing a little CMS using PHP whilst putting OOP into practice. I've hit a problem though. I have a page class, whos constructor accepts a UID and a slug. This is then used to set the properties (unless the page don't exist in which case it would fail). Anyway, I wanted to implement a function to create a page, and I thought ... what's the best way to do this without overloading the constructor. What would the correct way, or more conventional method, of doing this be?     Hello, I've subclassed some UITextField and added some custom properties. In a UITableViewController, in the ViewDiDLoad I init them, and in the cellForRowAtIndexPath I add them to the cell with [cell.contentView addSubview:customTextField]; Each cell has a different customTextField as all of them are very different. Where I should call the [customTextField release] ? After I add them to the cell view ? If for example I call [self.tableView reloadData] my customTextField are going to be added again to the cell, so maybe I should change my approach in doing this ? thanks for the orientation ... regards, r.

When I change that ViewModel's CurrentForm attribute, who's property is implemented like this... public FormViewModel CurrentForm { get { return _currentForm; } set { _currentForm = value; if (!_currentForm.IsLoaded) { _currentSubreddit.Refresh.Execute(null); } RaisePropertyChanged("CurrentForm"); } } ... something really strange happens. The previous FormViewModel's CurrentSort property is changed to the new FormViewModel's current sort property. This happens as the RaisePropertyChanged event is called, through a managed-to-native transition, with native code invoking the setter of CurrentSort of the previous FormViewModel. Does that sound like a bug in Win8's data binding? Am I doing something wrong?

    I have a date controller which does various things. Once a calendar date is set, I want to pass the value from the date controller to another bean. The problem I have is that the setPropertyActionListener gets called before the user clicks on a date. Is there a way to get the date from the selectInputDate after selection and pass to a bean?   • Getting the download count of a specific S3 object

Since I'd like to bill my customers by usage, I wondered if there is any smart kind of way to get the number of times a given file has been downloaded? Alternatively, I suppose I could parse the log files provided by S3, but with 10m+ fetches per customer this might be bit of a task. Any ideas?

  • Associative Array / Object can't be read in functions

    At the very beginning of the javascript file, I have: var lbp = {}; lbp.defaults = { minLength: 40 }; I can successfully alert it afterwards, with: alert(lbp.defaults.minLength); But as soon as I put it inside a function, when I alert, I get "Undefined". What gives, and how do I avoid this? Is it absolutely necessary to pass this variable into each function, for example, by doing: function(lbp) { alert(lbp.defaults.minLength); } I would have thought that defining it first, it would attain global scope and not be required to be passed in? Thanks in advance for enlightening me :) ==================================== EDIT: The problem seems like it might be my initialize function is itself defined within lbp.   • SQL Invalid Object Name 'AddressType'

    I am getting the above error in my VS 2008 C# method when I try to invoke the SQL getColumnNames stored procedure from VS. This SP accepts one input parameter, the table name, and works successfully from SSMS. Currently I am selecting the AdventureWorks AddressType table for it to pull the column names from this table. I can see teh AdventureWorks table available in VS from my Server Explorer / Data Connection. And I see both the AddressType table and getColumnNames SP showing in Server Explorer. But I am still getting this error listed above.   • Python Importing object that originates in one module from a different module into a third module

    I was reading the sourcode for a python project and came across the following line: from couchexport.export import Format (source: https://github.com/wbnigeria/couchexport/blob/master/couchexport/views.py#L1 ) I went over to couchexport/export.py to see what Format was (Class? Dict? something else?). Unfortunately Format isn't in that file. export.py does however import a Format from couchexport.models where there is a Format class (source: https://github.com/wbnigeria/couchexport/blob/master/couchexport/models.py#L11). When I open up the original file in my IDE and have it look up the declaration, in line I mentioned at the start of this question, it leads directly to models.py. What's going on? How can an import from one file (export.py) actually be an import from another file (models.py) without being explicitly stated?
