  • How can I obtain the IP address of my server program?

    Hello! This question is related to another question I just posted. I'm prepping for a simple work project and am trying to familiarize myself with the basics of socket programming in a Unix dev environment. At this point, I have some basic server side code and client side code setup to communicate. Currently, my client code successfully connects to the server code and the server code sends it a test message, then both quit out. Perfect! That's exactly what I wanted to accomplish. Now I'm playing around with the functions used to obtain info about the two environments (server and client). I'd like to obtain my server program's IP address.   • Cisco PIX 8.0.4, static address mapping not working?

    upgrading a working Pix running 5.3.1 to 8.0.4. The memory/IOS upgrade went fine, but the 8.0.4 configuration is not quite working 100%. The 5.3.1 config on which it was based is working fine. Basically, I have three networks (inside, outside, dmz) with some addresses on the dmz statically mapped to outside addresses. The problem seems to be that those addresses can't send or receive traffic from the outside (Internet.) Stuff on the DMZ that does not have a static mapping seems to work fine. So, basically: Inside - outside: works Inside - DMZ: works DMZ - inside: works, where the rules allow it DMZ (non-static) - outside: works But: DMZ (static) - outside: fails Outside - DMZ: fails (So, say, udp 1194 traffic to .102, http to .104) I suspect there's something I'm missing with the nat/global section of the config, but can't for the life of me figure out what.   • WebBrowser Control in ATL window. How to free up memory on window unload? I'm stuck.

    Hello there. I have a Win32 C++ Application. There is the _tWinMain(...) Method with GetMessage(...) in a while loop at the end. Before GetMessage(...) I create the main window with HWND m_MainHwnd = CreateWindowExW(WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW | WS_EX_LAYERED, CAxWindow::GetWndClassName(), _TEXT("http://www.-website-.com"), WS_POPUP, 0, 0, 1024, 768, NULL, NULL, m_Instance, NULL); ShowWindow(m_MainHwnd) If I do not create the main window, my application needs about 150K in memory. But with creating the main window with the WebBrowser Control inside, the memory usage increases to 8500K. But, I want to dynamically unload the main window. My _tWinMain(...) keeps running! Im unloading with DestroyWindow(m_MainHwnd) But the WebBrowser control won't unload and free up it's memory used! Application memory used is still 8500K! I can also get the WebBrowser Instance or with some additional code the WebBrowser HWND IWebBrowser2* m_pWebBrowser2; CAxWindow wnd = (CAxWindow)m_MainHwnd; HRESULT hRet = wnd.QueryControl(IID_IWebBrowser2, (void**)&m_pWebBrowser2); So I tried to free up the memory used by main window and WebBrowser control with (let's say it's experimental): if(m_pWebBrowser2) m_pWebBrowser2->Release(); DestroyWindow(m_hwndWebBrowser); //<-- just analogous OleUninitialize(); No success at all. I also created a wrapper class which creates the main window. I created a pointer and freed it up with delete: Wrapper* wrapper = new Wrapper(); //wrapper creates main window inside and shows it //...do some stuff delete(wrapper); No success. Still 8500K. So please, how can I get rid of the main window and it's WebBrowser control and free up the memory, returning to about 150K. Later I will recreate the window.     I have a Table called Address. I have a Trigger for insert on that table that does some spacial calculations on the address that determines what neighborhood boundaries it is in. address = new Address { Street = this.Street, City = this.City, State = this.State, ZipCode = this.ZipCode, latitude = this.Latitude, longitude = this.Longitude, YearBuilt = this.YearBuilt, LotSize = this.LotSize, FinishedSize = this.FinishedSize, Bedrooms = this.Bedrooms, Bathrooms = this.Bathrooms, UseCode = this.UseCode, HOA = this.HOA, UpdateDate = DateTime.Now }; db.AddToAddresses(address); db.SaveChanges(); In the database i can clearly see that the Trigger ran and updated the neighborhoodID in the address table for the row. I tried to just reload that record to get the assigned id like this: address = (from a in db.Addresses where a.AddressID == address.AddressID select a).First(); In the debugger i can clearly see that the address.AddressID is correct, entity doesn't update in memory. Is there any work around for this?

    Let's say I want to look for <Address> <Street>Windsor</Street> </Address> and I do not want to return <Address> <Number>15</Number> <Street>Windsor</Street> </Address> i.e. I am looking for addresses where the Address node does not contain a number tag. I tried things like <Address>(?!Number)</Address> or <Address>.*?(?!Number).*?</Address> but can't quite figure it out :-( Any ideas? TIA eddiec :-)

  • How common (or uncommon) is using full email address for email login?

    I was hoping you fine folks could comment on your experiences with using a full email address as a login name for an email service vs. using the username (everything before the @domain.tld). I ask because I have inherited a legacy email system in which usernames are completely unique, and users can log in via that username (to other services besides email as well) and I do not want to ask tens of thousands of users to have to update their email settings to support virtual domain hosting without good reason.

  • JVM throws OutOfMemory during gc though there are plenty memory left...

    I have my java application configured to use 5G memory. I got an OutOfMemory out of blue. I inspected the gc log and found plenty of memory left: young generation occupies 4% allocated space, tenure generation occupancy is 5% and perm generation is 43%. I am puzzled why JVM throws an OutOfMemory at the gc time. Does anyone know why this is happening? Your help is greatly appreciated.     Hi, I am looking for a fast way to move records from a MEMORY table to MYISAM table. MEMORY table has around 0.5 million records. Both tables have exactly the same structure (same number of columns, data types etc.). But the MYISAM table is indexed (B-TREE) on a few columns. There are around 25 columns most of which are unsigned integers. I have already tried using "INSERT INTO SELECT * FROM " query. But is there any faster way to do this? Appreciate your help. Prashant

    Hi, I need a portable C++ library for doing IPC. I used fork() and SysV shared memory until now but this limits me to Linux/Unix. I found out that there are 3 major C++ libraries that offer a portable solution (including Windows and Mac OS X). I really like Boost, and would like to use it but I need processes and it seems like that this is only an experimental branch until now!? I have never heard of ACE or POCO before and thus I am stuck I do not know which one to choose. I need fork(), sleep() (usleep() would be great) and shared memory of course. Performance and documentation are also important criteria. Thanks, for your Help!
