• PySide using Style Sheets to change QtoolBox

  I'm Wondering if somebody knows a better reference than the QT one for style sheets. I try to change the background of the content from a QToolBox but background-color only changes the header of the toolbox and the background of the content it reveals is left in a standard color. I then tried to change the bg of QWidget which worked but left me with problems now at Radiobuttons and Checkboxes, i also think changing QWidget isn't a good solution. • "possible loss of precision" is Java going crazy or I'm missing something?

  I'm getting a "loss of precision" error when there should be none, AFAIK. this is an instance variable: byte move=0; this happens in a method of this class: this.move=(this.move<<4)|(byte)(Guy.moven.indexOf("left")&0xF); move is a byte, move is still a byte, and the rest is being cast to a byte. I get this error: [javac] /Users/looris/Sviluppo/dumdedum/client/src/net/looris/android/toutry/Guy.java:245: possible loss of precision [javac] found : int [javac] required: byte [javac] this.move=(this.move<<4)|(byte)(Guy.moven.indexOf("left")&0xF); [javac] ^ I've tried many variations but I still get the same error. I'm now clueless.

• WPF layout with several fixed height parts and certain parts relative to window size

  Hello, At moment my main layout consists of vertically oriented stack panel and it looks like this: Root StackPanel StackPanel - fixed Height 150 (horizontal orientation) StackPanel - relative Height must be behalf of free space left on screen (but at least 150 px). Used by Telerik GridView Control, if I don't specify Height or MaxHeight Telerik GridView Height becomes very large and does not fit my window. StackPanel - fixed Height 100 (horizontal orientation) StackPanel - relative Height must be half of free space left on screen (but at least 150 px). Used by Telerik GridView Control, if I don't specify Height or MaxHeight Telerik GridView Height becomes very large and does not fit my window. StackPanel - fixed Height 100 (horizontal orientation) The view must totally fit available screen size. The problem is that I don't understand how to make certain areas of my view resize depending on available screen size. Is there is easy way to solve it, or should I be binding to Window height property and doing math? Thank You very much!

I want to start learning mobile device development, but I am someone that gets much more motivated when there is some goal to reach. Because of that, I would like to join a competition. I know about Microsoft Imagine Cup, which is a very nice competition. Does anyone knows another mobile development competition with a deadline in the next 6~8 months? • How can you centre an image within the image control in SQL Server Reporting Services 2008?

  I have got an image in an image control on a report in SSRS 2008. The image is coming from an external source, and varies in width. I would like to centre the image within the control, but the image control does not have an equivalent of the text box's TextAlign property to allow right/left/center alignment to be done automatically. I have seen methods to dynamically calculate the amount of left padding as a hack to solve this, http://blogs.msdn.com/chrishays/archive/2004/10/27/CenteredImages.aspx, but the solution gives an error in SSRS 2008, perhaps not surprising given the age of the article. Has anybody got a solution to this for SSRS 2008?

• ubuntu 12.04.3 - Reverse DNS issue - slow ping interval but normal ping value

  i'm running ubuntu 12.04.3 x86 desktop in my corporation environment. I join the corp domain by Likewise open. But when I ping another pc, say hostname is pc-test, "ping pc-test" or "ping pc-test.domain.name" returns slow interval (about 5 seconds) but the ping value is below 1 ms. When I use "ping -n pc-test", everything works well. So I conclude this is about reverse DNS issue. how to fix this issue? many thanks! Edit: In my understanding, reverse DNS issue is related to DNS server or Wins server, not only an ubuntu issue, is this right? if I wanna fix this issue as much as possible on ubuntu but not on network servers, what to do?

  I create some dynamic report. by default, create a table with all available field and hidden by expression, therefore column hide when user want (by checkbox in aspx page) problem: my report is "right to left" therefore when hiding some column, report must shown from right, but as you know, when report render, it create table column from left, my question is how to render report from right ???? for solving this problem i create some column without data and set hidden expression != main column hidden state, therefore my problem solved but found another problem, report width!!! because page width really must 8.5in but when hiding some column, page Width not decrease and remain 15in!!! how to solve this problem ??? This works very well for most cases, but when there are too many images for the grid and it has to scroll, I run into issues. I can still drag/drop into most items in that div, but when I scroll down and then try to drag onto an item in the bottom of the list, it drops on the row that was at the bottom before I scrolled the div. Even if I set the scroll attribute when creating the Draggable items, it will scroll the grid div, but not use the proper Droppable item. Is there any way to make the Draggable items drop onto the proper Droppable element regardless of if the containing div is scrolled or not?

• Optimizing graphics for an iOS flash game

  A friend of mine and myself are working on a flash developed iOS (and later Android) puzzle board game. He's a developer and I'm a designer/developer so (no surprise) we have different points of view. His method: make small tiles (100x100px) in Photoshop join them into the board and then in flash apply effects to the board to avoid repetition (80's not in the good way). My method: precompose the whole board (960x640px+bleed) in Photoshop and than mask active and inactive areas in flash. What do you think?

• Python or C server hosting for indie development

  I've written a lot of the game, but it's singleplayer. Now we want to join up and play together. I want to host it like an MMO, but haven't got any personal ability to host (no static IPs or direct access to a reasonable router that will allow me to port forward) so I wondered if there were any free / very cheap hosting solutions for people developing games that need to develop their MMO side. In my case it's a world server for a 2D game where the world map can be changed by the players. So, GAE sounds expensive, as there would be quite a few updates per second (I heard they bill for data updates but not for download, but can't find refernce to billing anywhere on the FAQs) I'd prefer to be able to write the server in python as that's what the game is written in (with pygame), but C is fine, and maybe even better as it might prompt me to write some more performant world generator code ;)
