Server 2008 R2 .Net 4 Programs running from Network share won't work

we have several .Net Apps stored on a Network share on our old Server (Windows Server 2003). These Apps get called by Windows 7 32bit Clients and work perfectly fine. We recently wanted to upgrade our Server to Windows Server 2008 R2 and moved the Apps from the old share to our new share on the new Server. The problem started right afterwards since all of our .Net Programs won't start anymore from the new share (2008 R2). The Error that comes up is: "This application could not be started." and with a link to Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2715633 (This Error also shows up when i start a simple console HelloWorld from the server share created in VS2012) Does anyone have any Idea why this is not working anymore on the new Servershare? We've been searching for two days now with no result at all. Any Tips / Help / Questions appreciated :) Greetings Lim

Upgrade Mysql to 5.5 with cPanel

I have a cPanel installed on a CentOS server and it includes an old version of Mysql. Has anyone tried upgrading Mysql to 5.5 on a cPanel managed server? If so, I would really like some guidance. I read, on the cPanel forum, that it's not supported and one user complained, after manually upgrading his version of Mysql, cPanel automatically removed it, but that was a long time ago. Also, I'm a newbie to Linux, so please forgive any dumb questions. Help... Thanks.

How do I recover lost data from sd card? I already tried using: Photorec Recuva Tune up undelete Pareto data recovery chkdsk x: /F from here: http://superuser.com/questions/128259/how-to-recover-images-from-memory-card But none of them worked. I think I've only lost the data yesterday. And I haven't used the camera. So there's a possibility that it is still there. But the question is how I can recover the images? I think its lost when I tried to connect the digicam with the computer. But the camera froze so I tried to remove the batteries then try again.

How can I send a Wake on Wireless LAN (WoWLAN) / Wake on Demand request manually?

The question is, how do I do whatever the AirPort Basestation will do? All I can find so far is that supposedly I need to send something with Wireless Multimedia Extensions (WMM): Basically, I want to be able to wake up my Mac Mini remotely, probably using my Linux laptop. Does anyone know of a tool to do this? Basic Wake on LAN tools do not seem to be the right thing. I don't need the Sleep Proxy Service bit, because I already know the MAC address of the system I want to wake up.

Can Foswiki be used as a distributed Redmine replacement? [closed]

I am quite familiar with and love using git, among other reasons due to its distributed nature. Now I'd like to set up some similarly distributed (FOSS) Project Management software with features similar to what Redmine offers, such as Issue & time tracking, milestones Gantt charts, calendar git integration, maybe some automatic linking of commits and issues Wiki (preferably with Mathjax support) Forum, news, notifications Multiple Projects However, I am looking for a solution that does not require a permanently accesible server, i.e. like in git, each user should have their own copy which can be easily synchronized with others. However it should be possible to not have a copy of every Project on every machine. Since trac uses multiple instances for multiple projects anyway, I was considering using that, but I neither know how well it adapts to simply giting the database itself (which would be be easiest way to handle the distribution due to git being used anyway), nor does it include all of Redmine's feature. After checking http://www.wikimatrix.org for Wikis with integrated tracking system and RCS support, and filtering out seemingly stale project, the choices basically boil down to Foswiki, TWiki and Ikiwiki. The latter doesn't seem to offer as many usability features, and in the TWiki vs Foswiki issue I tend to the latter. Finally, there is Fossil, which starts from the other end by attempting to replace git entirely and tracking itself. I am however not too comfortable with the thought of replacing git, and Fossil's non-SCM features don't seem to be as developed. Now before I invest too much time when someone else might already have tried this, I basically have two questions: Are there crucial features of Project Management software like Redmine that Foswiki does not provide even with all the extensions available? How to set Foswiki up to use git instead of the perl RcsLite?

Dependencies lib32asound2 [duplicate]

This question already has an answer here: 'teamviewer depends on (…)' while trying to install TeamViewer 4 answers I was trying to install Teamviewer, but i was getting a dependencies error. I tried to install them but with no luck.. I think Mod's are not reading the questions trough when they mark as duplicate I'm getting this Error: Unpacking teamviewer (from teamviewer_linux_x64.deb) ... dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of teamviewer: teamviewer depends on lib32asound2; however: Package lib32asound2 is not installed. teamviewer depends on lib32z1; however: Package lib32z1 is not installed. teamviewer depends on ia32-libs; however: Package ia32-libs is not installed. dpkg: error processing teamviewer (--install): dependency problems - leaving unconfigured Errors were encountered while processing: teamviewer I tried sudo apt-get -f install but getting Package ia32-libs is not available, but is referred to by another package. Finding the normals of an oriented bounding box?

Here is my problem. I'm working on the physics for my 2D game. All objects are oriented bounding boxes (OBB) based on the separate axis theorem. In order to do collision resolution, I need to be able to get an object out out of the object it is penetrating. To do this I need to find the normal of the face(s) that the other OBB is touching. Example: The small red OBB is a car lets say, and the big OBB is a static building. I need to determine the unit vector that is the normal of the building edge(s) the car is penetrating to get the car out of there. Here are my questions: How do I determine which edges the car is penetrating. I know how to determine the normal of an edge, but how do I know if I need (-dy, dx) or (dy, -dx)? In the case I'm demonstrating the car is penetrating 2 edges, which edge(s) do I use to get it out? Answers or help with any or all of these is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Running CRON job on Ubuntu server for SugarCRM

I am pretty inexperienced in Linux, so be descriptive on your answer. My environment: Local Linux server 12.04 hosting Sugar CRM 6.5.2. There is area in sugar CRM called scheduler. I can configured some predefined jobs here. in my case i am trying to run email reminders (ever min/hour/day/month). For this scheduler to be effective, i read some where i need to setup CRON job. So I did some research & finally put following lines in CRONTAB for the root user, as per instructions given in sugarCRM. * * * * * cd /var/www/crm; php -f cron.php > /dev/null 2>&1 Well I am creating contracts in my sugarCRM (AOS module) & I want email reminders to be sent for these contracts to the concern person. Now my sugarCRM email is configured correctly & I can send test emails using it. But the CRON + scheduler not giving any result. I can't receive any emails. Then I tried to read /var/log/syslog & it is showing entry for following line each minute. Oct 27 15:03:01 unicomm CRON[28182]: (root) CMD (cd /var/www/crm; php -f cron.php /dev/null 2&1) I've few questions: what does the CRON job line i've added in crontab mean? cd /var/www/crm; php -f cron.php > /dev/null 2>&1 is not making any sense to me. How am i suppose to get this thing work? I've searched a lot (including SugarCRM forum), but no luck.

Connection timeout when accessing Github

I have exactly the same problem as described here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12849986/connection-timeout-when-accessing-github So I'll just copy & paste: I have some weird problems. When I try to log in my Github account, I get a "net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE" error. I tried with Chrome, Firefox and Opera. In Firefox, if a clean the cache and offline data, it works for a while. Then I can log in, but I still can't create a Github repository, even if I clear the cache again. My friend, in the same network, with Windows, can do whatever he wants on Github's web site, but I can't. I tried many DNS servers, I tried not to set it (my friend doesn't), but it's still not working. My OS: Ubuntu x64 12.04 Ideas, please. And thanks. Also, I can clone any repo but I can't push. I had to change to https://codeplane.com/ due to this problem, but I want to understand why it happens. Impossible installing Ubuntu 13.04 in UEFI mode with Windows 8 preinstalled

I know this is a dejavu but let me please explain my problem. When booting 13.04 installation media EFI mode get to a black screen with Grub version 2.00-l3ubuntu3 version appears after selecting "install" or "try Ubuntu", there appear error messages: - failure reading sector ... from 'cd0' - you need to load the kernel first I have a Dell Vostro 3560 with Windows 8. I have downloaded and burned ubuntu-13.04-desktop-amd64.iso. Hashes checked. I've booted from the dvd with Secure Boot enabled. The same happens when Secure Boot is disable. When booting with Legacy BIOS, installation starts. I tried Ubuntu without installing and looks OK. BUT, I did not follow the installation because in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEFI#Converting_Ubuntu_into_EFI_mode there appears "if the other systems (Windows Vista/7/8, GNU/Linux...) of your computer are installed in EFI mode, then you must install Ubuntu in EFI mode too.", which is the case in my computer. I have read many similar questions and the corresponding answers from people in this forum, but till now I haven't found a solution. Could someone help me on this subject? Thanks in advance!

Will my laptop be ok with this different laptop charger?

So the original laptop charger broke and I switched to a charger from a laptop that I no longer use. The specifications from each are: Original Input:AC 100-240V 1.5A 50-60Hz Output: DC 19V 3.42A Other Charger Input: AC 100-240V 1.5A 50-60Hz Output: 20V 3.25A Yes, the polarity is the same. Also, the wattage has a difference of .02 from what I understand. Is wattage ever important, and more specifically, a wattage difference of that size. Feel free to ask me any other questions about the chargers and I'll answer them to the best of my ability.

High-Level Application Architecture Question

So I'm really wanting to improve how I architect the software I code. I want to focus on maintainability and clean code. As you might guess, I've been reading a lot of resources on this topic and all it's doing is making it harder for me to settle on an architecture because I can never tell if my design is the one that the more experienced programmer would've chosen. So I have these requirements: I should connect to one vendor and download form submissions from their API. We'll call them the CompanyA. I should then map those submissions to a schema fit for submitting to another vendor for integration with the email service provider. We'll call them the CompanyB. I should then submit those responses to the ESP (CompanyB) and then instruct the ESP to send that submitter an email. So basically, I'm copying data from one web service to another and then performing an action at the latter web service. I've identified a couple high-level services: The service that downloads data from CompanyA. I called this the CompanyAIntegrator. The service that submits the data to CompanyB. I called this CompanyBIntegrator. So my questions are these: Is this a good design? I've tried to separate the concerns and am planning to use the facade pattern to make the integrators interchangeable if the vendors change in the future. Are my naming conventions accurate and meaningful to you (who knows nothing specific of the project)? Now that I have these services, where should I do the work of taking output from the CompanyAIntegrator and getting it in the format for input to the CompanyBIntegrator? Is this OK to be done in main()? Do you have any general pointers on how you'd code something like this? I imagine this scenario is common to us engineers---especially those working in agencies. Thanks for any help you can give. Learning how to architect well is really mind-cluttering.

Decal implementation

I had issues finding information about decals, so maybe this question will help others. The implementation is for a forward renderer. Could somebody confirm if i got decal implementation right? You define a cube of any dimension that'll define the projection volume in common space. You check for triangle intersection with the defined cube to recieve triangles that the projection will affect. You clip these triangles and save them. You then use matrix tricks to calculate UV coordinates for the saved triangles that'll reference the texture you're projecting. To do this you take the vectors representing height, width and depth of the cube in common space, so that f.e. the bottom left corner is the origin. You put that in a matrix as the i, j, k unit vectors, set the translation for the cube, then you inverse this matrix. You multiply the vertices of the saved triangles by this matrix, that way you get their coordinates inside of a 0 to 1 size cube that you use as the UV coordinates. This way you have the original triangles you're projecting onto and you have UV coordinates for them (the UV coordinates are referencing the texture you're projecting). Then you rerender the saved triangles onto the scene and they overwrite the area of projection with the projected image. Now the questions that i couldn't find answers for. Is the last point right? I've never done software clipping, but it seems error prone enough, due to limited precision, that the'll be some z fighting occuring for the projected texture. Also is the way of getting UV coordinates correct?

How to get search engines to properly index an ajax driven search page

I have an ajax-driven search page that will allow users to search through a large collection of records. Each search result points to index.php?id=xyz (where xyz is the id of the record). The initial view does not have any records listed, and there is no interface that allows you to browse through all records. You can only conduct a search. How do I build the page so that spiders can crawl each record? Or is there another way (outside of this specific search page) that will allow me to point spiders to a list of all records. FYI, the collection is rather large, so dumping links to every record in a single request is not a workable solution. Outputting the records must be done in multiple requests. Each record can be viewed via a single page (eg "record.php?id=xyz"). I would like all the records indexed without anything indexed from the sitemap that shows where the records exist, for example: <a href="/result.php?id=record1">Record 1</a> <a href="/result.php?id=record2">Record 2</a> <a href="/result.php?id=record3">Record 3</a> <a href="/seo.php?page=2">next</a> Assuming this is the correct approach, I have these questions: How would the search engines find the crawl page? Is it possible to prevent the search engines from indexing the words "Record 1", etc. and "next"? Can I output only the links? Or maybe something like:

Using XML in a Flex Website to Improve SEO

Hi, I've got a Flex 3 site called www.brainpinata.com that's a trivia game. Basically, everything in the site is pulled from a database-- the questions, choices, and answers. So, unfortunately, Google doesn't index my content. So, I'm trying to think of ways to improve the situation: A) If I took my database data and put it in an XML file which was in the website's root directory, would this work? Would it violate any Google policy? (The info would be the same as in the db-- so nothing shady.) Would I have to "wire" the XML into my site or would it be enough to just have the XML sitting in the root directory? B) Another idea is to use the noscript tag and load the XML content there. As I understand it Google indexes content that people who have Javascript turned off would see. I know Flex/Actionscript 3, and unfortunately, I don't know how to load XML content with HTML. Does anyone know of an example where a Flex site uses XML for the noscript content? Thank you. -Laxmidi

R28 is a major release (as indicated by the careless omissions of "minor" and "revision" numbers. The formal name would be R28.0.0). Our customers expect grand new features and innovation from major releases, and "Ropsten" will not disappoint. One of the biggest challenges for IT systems is after the fact diagnostics. That is - Once something has gone wrong, the act of trying to figure out why it went wrong. Monitoring a system and keeping track of system health once it is running is considered a hard problem (one that we to some extent help our customers solve already with JRockit Mission Control), but doing it after something occurred is close to impossible. The most common solution is to set up heavy logging (and sacrificing system performance to do the logging) and hope that the problem occurs again. No one really thinks that this is a good solution, but it's the best there is. Until now. Inspired by the "Black box" in airplanes, JRockit R28 introduces the Flight Recorder. Flight Recorder can be seen as an extremely detailed log, but one that is always on and that comes without a cost to system performance. ubuntu: sending mail with postfix?

i've got some questions about how it works: so ubuntu server comes with postfix installed. if i want my php script to send a mail to lets say [email protected], how does it work? do i have to specify any ip to another MTA (my ISP's MTA?) in postfix's configuration file? and if someone sends back, will it get to my ip? is it postfix that receives it? or has it to do with fetchmail?

Proffesional video editor that can handle FLV?

I tried Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and was not able to open my file (unsupported format). Media player can open it thanks to ffdshow (tryouts IIRC). Premiere doesnt seem to want to use ffdshow. I tried renaming it to AVI and hoped Premiere would open it via ffdshow but it didnt and i checked and disabled the dont use ffdshow option in ffdshow video decoder option. What is a good proffesional video editor that can handle FLV? All ffmpeg based editors died on it and virtualdub got close but had a bad framerate. Probably bc it didnt know it was a streaming vid and the start is 26mins of 31min video. Carbonite has taken over my iMac

I used Carbonite to back up 75GB on my iMac. I also created a folder on my iMac to copy files to, from an external hard drive and then use Carbonite to back up from there. And THEN thinking I had everything safely backed up and, in order to make room on my hard drive I DELETED some of those files, and instead of increasing disk space..my disk space has shrunk to 2GB... I know, I know..you can't use Carbonite like that, but now I have two questions. 1) What is the explanation for the decrease in disk space even though I have deleted about 20GB of those backed up files from my hard drive? It must have something to do with the way Carbonite references backed up files, And 2) Is there a way to extricate myself from this situation?

Carbonite has taken over my iMac

I used Carbonite to back up 75GB on my iMac. I also created a folder on my iMac to copy files to, from an external hard drive and then use Carbonite to back up from there. And THEN thinking I had everything safely backed up and, in order to make room on my hard drive I DELETED some of those files, and instead of increasing disk space..my disk space has shrunk to 2GB... I know, I know..you can't use Carbonite like that, but now I have two questions. 1) What is the explanation for the decrease in disk space even though I have deleted about 20GB of those backed up files from my hard drive? It must have something to do with the way Carbonite references backed up files, And 2) Is there a way to extricate myself from this situation?
