PHP exec() and system() functions always return false in IIS

Hi there, I'm trying to use the PHP exec() or system() (or any other similar function) to run a batch file, but I can't seem to get these to return anything. The simplest example I've seen is this, which outputs nothing: <?php echo system('dir'); ?> The script is running on a windows XP machine on IIS with PHP installed and I've also tried it on my shared hosting account running windows 2003 server/IIS. Can anyone suggest what I need to do to get this working, or provide any commands I can use for troubleshooting? Cheers, Tom

I can give them new values and I try to save them back to base, but in phpmyadmin i can see still old values for these option attributes. Content-type not working in PHP

Hi everyone, I have some issues with a PHP file that is not working properly. The Content-type does not get recieved by any browser at all. Firebug interprets the file as text/html instead of css. Here's the file : <?php header('Content-Type: text/css; charset=UTF-8'); error_reporting(E_ALL | E_STRICT); ini_set('display_errors', 'On'); /* CSS goes on from here */ I tested to put a row with echo 'TEST'; before the header line, and was expecting to see the classic "headers already sent" error, but nothing appears! I'm trying to retrieve data from a php file named return that contains <?php echo 'here is a string'; ?>. I'm doing this through an html file containing ` div { color:blue; } span { color:red; } var x; $.get("return.php", function(data){ x = data; }) function showAlert() {alert(x);} $(document).ready(function(){ alert(x); }); ` When the button is clicked it retrieves and displays the code fine, but on the page loading, it displays "undefined" instead of the data in return.php. I'm trying to create a file that has a list of directories that have a specific file name in them. Let's say I'm trying to find directories that have a file named *.joe in them. I initially tried just a simple dir /ad *.joe > dir_list.txt , but it searches the directory names for *.joe, so no go. Then I concluded that a for loop was probably my best bet. I started with for /d /r %a in ('dir *.joe /b') do @echo %a >> dir_list.txt and it looked like it wasn't executing the dir command. I added the "usebackq", but that seems to only work for the /F command extension. Ideas?

How can I get rid of that from the url?

When I call a pdo query connection within a function and the connection is included outside the function, the connection becomes undefined. Anyone know what I am doing wrong here? Returned JSON is seemingly mixed up when using jQuery Ajax

Magento 1.4 Default Product Details image size is 265x265. All of our product images will be probably 2x taller than wide, and even if we pad them to make them square 265 will be too small to see detail in the image, so we'd like to make the image taller. I found the media.phtml file How would we go about modifying this file/Magento so that the product details page image is 265W x 530H. Action "foo/foobar" does not exist error in Symfony

I am saving pictures under my web folder in the folder: web/media/photo In the template that displays the photo, I have the following snippet: <?php echo link_to(image_tag('media/photo/filename.jpg', '@some_url); ?> When I display the view, although the photo is displayed correctly and the link works, I get the following error in my php_errors.log file: Action "media/photo" does not exist. Why is symfony trying to parse the path to the image as a url? Does anyone know how to fix this?
