     How to clone a VirtualBox DiskCopying the image of Virtual Disk (.vdi file) is a convenient way to duplicate the disk, in cases you want to avoid re-installing an operating system from scratch. However, simply copying the .vdi file into another location will make a verbatim copy of the virtual disk, including the UUID of the disk.   • Ubuntu server on VM outgoing network(ping google.com) working, incoming(127.0.0.1:8080) is not. Was working previusly

    I have recently installed Ubuntu server with LAMP,OpenSSH and mail on Oracle's VM, it's incoming networking was recently working, apache's default message could be seen when opening 127.0.0.1:8080. But now it's not! :( Could you give me any tips? I couldn't google anything that helped me. :( I'm running windows 7 with such settings http://www.bildites.lv/images/3d91ikwtraw0ld7lhv.png I recently used apt-get --purge remove phpmyadmin.   • How to port animation from one skeleton to another?

    While I need to do this in a Blender3D modeler script, the math should be similar for other modelers or realtime engines. Blender3D specific terminology: Armature = skeleton EditBone = rest pose bone (stores the rest pose matrix) PoseBone = can store a different pose (animation matrix) for each frame of your animation I need to share animations (Blender Actions) between Armatures which have EditBones with same names and which have the same positions, but can have different (rest pose) angles and scales. Plus the Armatures might have different bone hierarchy (bone parenting/ no bone parenting). Why I need this: I've made an importer/exporter for a 3d format for a game. The format doesn't store enough info to connect/parent the bones, which makes posing/animating character models in a 3d modeller nearly impossible (original model files for the 3d modeler don't exist, this is for modding). As there are only 2 character skeleton types in the game, I decided to optionally allow to generate the bone from a hardcoded data in the model importer and undo that in the exporter. This allows to easily pose the model for checking weights, easily create weights, makes it easier for Blender to generate automatic weights and of course makes animating possible. This worked perfectly: the importer optionally generated the Armature itself and the exporter removed those changes, so the exported model works with existing animations in the game. But now I'm writing an importer and exporter for the game's animation format and here come the problems of: Trying to make original animations work in Blender with my "custom" (modified) Armature Trying to make animations created by using the "custom" (modified) Armature work with the original models in the game (and Blender). Constraints or bone snapping inside Blender won't work as they don't care that the bones have different angles in the rest pose, they will still face the same direction. It seems I just need to get the "difference" between the EditBone matrices of all EditBones for the two Armatures somehow and apply that difference to PoseBone matrices of all PoseBones, for all frames of my animation. I need to know how to get that difference and how to apply it. BTW, PoseBone matrices are relative to rest pose, they are by default [1.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000](matrix [row 0]) [0.000000, 1.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000](matrix [row 1]) [0.000000, 0.000000, 1.000000, 0.000000](matrix [row 2]) [0.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 1.000000](matrix [row 3]) So the question is: How to get the difference between two bone (EditBone) matrices to apply that difference to the animation matrices (PoseBone matrices)? Please be easy on the matrix math.

    I am hosting a webshop with OpenCart and its current URL is e.g. http://mydomain.com/shop/ I have created two subdomains ( http://pg.mydomain.com/ and http://shop.mydomain.com/ ) and both subdomains are already working as they should. However, can I restrict direct access to mydomain.com/shop/ while leaving all the files (index.php, etc.) there? Since both subdomains are pointing to http://mydomain.com/shop/, I thought this would restrict all access. So in the end, I would like my two shops to be accessable through http://pg.mydomain.com/ and http://shop.mydomain.com/, but not http://mydomain.com/shop/ while leaving all the files in http://mydomain.com/shop/.

  • can't ping from virtualbox ubuntu server --nat connection

    i set up an ubuntu server in virtual box following these and these instructions.My connection worked,also ssh . Then, i signed up in dyndns.com ,i configured the router ,but in the port forward i changed the 2222 port to 80 because it couldn’t forward from 2222.My port is open and accepting connections but i don’t have any more connection from the server in the virtual box. From virtual box settings-network-port forwarding , i use: Host IP :127.0.0.1 , Host port :80 , Guest Port :22 ,Guest IP : its empty. I am not sure if i am using right the address in /etc/network/interfaces , i use 192.168.0.2 and also this address i use for the firewall rules in the router. Also,in the server /etc/resolv.conf i put that address and in /etc/mysql/my.cnf. I can ping that address but nothing more.(of course neither ssh works) Thank you

  • Primary domain in vps has been deactivated

    This is my scenario: I have a vps with two domains (example1.com, example2.com). When I started with this vps I set example1.com as primary domain and the nameserver were configured with the pattern ns1.example.com, ns2.example1.com. The domains were brought in name.com. Across the time, I usually only work whit the domain example2.com, for that reason I stopped to pay example1.com anual registration and just keep the example2.com. But, today my vps is unreacheable because the main domain was deactivated last ago 23th. I never imagined that it could affect my server. So, I am so worried because I don't know if rebuild the vps is the solution here because I could lost my data. Can you take me to the right direction in order to recover my vps?

  • SSL issue and redirects from https to http

    I have a site www.example.com for which i purchased SSL cert and installed. And it was working fine, I also have a subdomain with app.example.com which was not on SSL. Both www.example.com and app.example.com are on same IP address. At later we decided to put SSL only on app.frostbox.com and then i configured SSL with app.frostbox.com and it worked fine, Now the issue is that Google is indexing my site as https://www.example.com/ and when users hits the web , Invalid security warning is issued and when user allow security issue they are shown my app.example.com contents. Note: I have my SSL configuration files in /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf The contents of the ssl.conf are below. http://pastebin.com/GCWhpQJq NOTE: I tried solutions in .httaccess but none of those worked.   • How do I stop Google indexing my main page as https [duplicate]

    This question already has an answer here: https:// search results appearing on Google for purely http:// site 2 answers Due to historic reasons, we have things set up so that "www.mydomain.com" redirects to "store.mydomain.com". This has worked perfectly fine until recently, when Google appears to be sending visitors to "https:// www.mydomain.com" which doesn't have an SSL-certificate (and never has). Strangely, its only the first link that goes to "https:// www.mydomain.com", all other links point correctly to "http:// store.mydomain.com". Because there is no certificate on the "www" version, users are getting an error message. How do I make Google revert to pointing the main link at "http:// store.mydomain.com" (or even "http:// www.mydomain.com.") If I remove "https:// www.mydomain.com" from Google webmaster tools, will this also remove the redirected page ("http:// store.mydomain.com)? Thanks.

  • Weird issue with iptables redirection

    I am trying to redirect all incoming traffic on UDP port 5060 to port 56790, and all outgoing traffic from 5060 to the port 56789. I used these iptables rules: iptables -t nat -I PREROUTING -p udp ! -s localhost --dport 5060 -j REDIRECT --to-port 56790 iptables -t nat -I OUTPUT -p udp ! -s localhost --sport 5060 -j REDIRECT --to-port 56789 I listen on both ports using RAW SOCKETS after setting the interface to PROMISCUOUS mode using ioctl. I see packets ONLY on 56789 i.e.SENDING side, and I do not see any packets on 56790, while wireshark shows that many packets are delivered to port 5060. Why would this happen? Any ideas? Do you think it's a problem with iptables rules or something to do with raw sockets? [This is ubuntu 10.04 and iptables v1.4.4]

Then my concern is about seo friendliness. say the main domain of my account is maindomain.com on which I have added an addon domain say domain2.com. That means cpanel will generate domain2.maindomain.com and the contents of domain2.com will be practically stored into a subfolder in maindomain.com. Now, assume both maindomain.com and domain2.com have same structure both optimized for seo same way. My question is that would maindomain.com links be more seo friendly due to that fact that maindomain.com is the mani domain of my account?

    I recently bought a new VPS , and i was trying to set private nameservers in my domain cpanel. I went ahead and added 4 A records ns1.mydomain.com - points to my ip ns2.mydomain.com - points to my ip www.mydomain.com - points to my ip mydomain.com - points to my ip and changed the nameservers to ns1 & ns2.mydomain.com the problem is that now while typing www.ns1.mydomain.com and www.ns2.mydomain.com in browser it points to the correct IP address but the www.mydomain.com is saying an Error The webpage at http://demiracles.com/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. Error 137 (net::ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED): Unknown error. Error message in chrome is above. Please help me.

    Well if you use outlook OWA in Chrome on Ubuntu (or any Linux distro), you will get a stripped down version of it basically. You can get around it by faking your user agent, to appear that you are using FireFox. So my question is.. Is there some legitimate reason Microsoft does that, or are they just being a****s??? I mean once you have the user agent faked, it works perfectly. PS. More information. The problem is that I have a very large code base, in which this type of code is used very often. I understand that it is wrong when looking at the standard. However it is very convenient not having to write this-> or Base<T>:: in front of every use of Value. Even writing using Base<T>::Value; at the start of the derived class is problematic when you use ~20 members of the base class. So my question is: are there compilers for Linux that allow this kind of code (with or without extra compiler switches)? Or are there small modifications that will allow this code to compile on Linux?

What am I missing? IS there a universal way to do this thing in ubuntu? I remember in fedora I just need to edit a text file and make it happen.
