  Is it possible to use networkx or pymatplotlib without an xserver running? • What permissions do I need to move a folder?

  In the root of my drive there exists a folder called SourceControl that contains all the working copies of all my programming projects. I would like to move the folder to my user directory (\Users\Me), but something about the permissions on the folder forbids me. I don't remember how I created the folder. When I execute the move command: MOVE \SourceControl \Users\Me I receive the following error: Access is denied. I have resolved a similar problem in the past using the Takeown utility to assign ownership of the file to me, so I tried this command next: TAKEOWN /F \SourceControl It returns the following error: ERROR: The current logged on user does not have ownership privileges on the file (or folder) "C:\SourceControl". I've just learned about the Icacls utility, which can inspect and modify file permissions. I used this command to inspect the permissions on the folder: ICACLS \SourceControl It produced this list: \SourceControl BUILTIN\Administrators:(I)(F) BUILTIN\Administrators:(I)(OI)(CI)(IO)(F) NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM:(I)(F) NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM:(I)(OI)(CI)(IO)(F) BUILTIN\Users:(I)(OI)(CI)(RX) NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users:(I)(M) NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users:(I)(OI)(CI)(IO)(M) I think this means that normal user accounts, like mine, have permission only to read and execute (RX) here, while administrator accounts have full control (F).   I hope someone of you know this powerfull Pref Panel to remap the keyboard.. Since i'm using a PC Keyboard, i wanted to make Screenshot a bit easy to do.. I managed to get working: -Command+Shift+3 to Stamp (full screen screenshot) -Command+Shift+4 to Control+Stamp (Selection Cursor Screenshot) Now i want to remap Shift+Stamp to Command+Shift+4+Space to get Windows Screenshot.. i tried but nothing was working.. • Statsd, Graphite and graphs

  I've setup Graphite and statsd and both are running well. I'm using the example-client.py from graphite/examples to measure load values and it's OK. I started doing tests with statsd and at first it seemed ok because it generated some graphs but now it doesn't look quite well. First, this is my storage-schema.conf: pattern = .* retentions = 10:2160,60:10080,600:262974 I'm using this command to send data to statsd: echo 'ssh.invalid_users:1|c'| nc -w 1 -u localhost 8126 it executes, I click Update Graph in the Graphite web interface, it generates a line, hit again Update and the line disappears. If I execute the previous command 5 times, the graph line will reach 2 and it will actually save it. Again running the same command two times, graph line reaches 2 and disappears. I can't find what I have misconfigured. The intended use is this: tail -n 0 -f /var/log/auth.log|grep --line-buffered "Invalid user" | while read line; do echo "ssh.invalid_users:1|c" | nc -w 1 -u localhost 8126; done

• Write stderror to a file using PowerShell

  How do I capture error messages from a PowerShell-launched command in a text file? I searched the Internet for a while and found that supposedly, I should be able to do something like cmd /c "big blob of text >C:\output.txt 2>c:\errors.txt" to direct the output to output.txt and the errors to errors.txt but when I try to run the command, I get the following error: cmd.exe : The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. At C:\Users\Zian\Desktop\Untitled1.ps1:27 char:4 + cmd <<<< /c $command + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (The filename, d...x is incorrect.:String) [], RemoteException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : NativeCommandError Furthermore, if I try to run the command without everything starting at "2", then the command executes correctly and output.txt catches the right output. I looked at Redirect stderr to variable in powershell but it wasn't helpful because the answer to that question suggests capturing the entire output and filtering it in memory. In my case, I am backing up every database on a computer and since the databases won't fit in my laptop's RAM, I cannot use the question's solution. I also found tantalizing suggestions about using $err = @(command goes here) but with no information on what to do other than simply inserting that line of text. I tried to utilize the search function on Serverfault with the string "@()", but it did not return any results. What can I do to get the error messages into errors.txt?

• Is it possible to use different zsh menu selection behaviour for different commands?

  I'm using the menu select behaviour in zsh, which invokes a menu below the cursor where you can see the various possibilities. The .zshrc option i have set for this is zstyle ':completion:*' menu select=2 By default, pressing Return to select a possibility in this menu only completes the word — it does not actually send the command. For example, I might get a menu like this ~ % cd de<TAB> completing directory: [Desktop/] Development/ Pressing Return here will result in ~ % cd Desktop/ I then have to press Return a second time to actually send the command. I can modify this behaviour to make it so that pressing Return both selects the completion and sends the command by doing this bindkey -M menuselect '^M' .accept-line However, there's a problem with this: sometimes I need to complete a file or directory without sending the command. For example, I might need to do ln -s Desktop Desktop2 — with this bindkey behaviour, trying to complete Desktop will result in ln -s Desktop/ being sent as the command, and obviously I don't want that. I'm aware that just pressing space will let me get on with the command, but it's now a habit. Given this, is there a way to make it so that only some commands let you press Return once (like cd), but all other commands require pressing it twice?

• seg fault caused by malloc and sscanf in a function

  Hi, I want to open a text file (see below), read the first int in every line and store it in an array, but I get an segmentation fault. I got rid of all gcc warnings, I read through several tutorials I found on the net and searched stackoverflow for solutions, but I could't make out, what I am doing wrong. It works when I have everything in the main function (see example 1), but not when I transfer it to second function (see example 2 further down). In example 2 I get, when I interpret gdb correctly a seg fault at sscanf (line,"%i",classes[i]);. I'm afraid, it could be something trivial, but I already wasted one day on it. Thanks in advance. This was working fine, but it doesn't seem to able to match over multiple lines any more. For example the pattern 31 31 32 32 33 31 runs over multiple lines, and the regular expression doesn't seem to catch it. I tried using /m /s pattern modifiers to ignore new lines but they didn't match it either.   I am new in Linux. I was trying to install wine and after /i followed instructions from a youtube video i got to the point where I needed to install wine from Ubuntu Software Center. • Python HTTPS requests (urllib2) fails on Ubuntu 12.04 without proxy

  I have an little app I wrote in Python and it used to work... until yesterday, when it suddenly started giving me an error in a HTTPS connection. I don't remember if there was an update, but both Python 2.7.3rc2 and Python 3.2 are failing just the same. I googled it and found out that this happens when people are behind a proxy, but I'm not (and nothing have changed in my network since the last time it worked). • Win32 strange exception

  When creating 2500 objects, I get a strange windows exception. It says the operation copmleted successfully at my constructor line. The program doesn't run or anything. I'm assuming it has something to do with memory. Each object has 32 indices and 8 vertices, so that 640,000 bytes or whatever vertices and indices are stored as. Any idea on how to fix this?   please someone help me.... (Sorry for my english) Hi, I have a Pc with 2 Hd (1Tb each) on Raid0. I had a Windows 7 64bits working for several months. When I installed the Windows I let a 100Gb partition empty to install Ubuntu someday. I was using Linux on a Virtualbox, but this week I tried to install Ubuntu 12.04 in this 100Gb partition. I used the Ubuntu alternate cd, because the 'normal' cd was giving me trouble with the Raid0. The grub installation always reported a error. After a lot of work I found that I nedded to install grub on partition /dev/mapper/isw_chjbfeec_DougRaid1 (see Bootinfo below). The Windows installation created a 100Mb boot partition, so I needed to install grub in this partition. Now I have the Ubuntu working 100% ok. The problem is, the Windows is not booting! The windows option is present on the grub menu, but when I choose the windows option there is a black screen and after that the grub is reloaded.   Hello. I am following along a book in which Insight debugger is required. I didn't find it on my Maverick. I googled and I found that it's not supported in debian anymore but I really need to install it. I tried to compile the source and it installed but keep telling me that tk is missing whenever i start it. I installed tk with sudo aptitude install tk then tried to run again it's the same. I compiled it one more time and nothing really changes. So please how can I install that ?   I downloaded the official tutorial from:CustomModelAnimationSample It works fine but when I try to replicate it in my project, it fails to load the Tag property in my model. Is found that the probelm is in the line: skinnedModel = Content.Load<Model>("DudeWalk"); This line loads the model from the DudeWalk.fbx file and with the custom SkinnedModelProcessor. It loads the animations data in the model. After the line the Tag property is full. I stepped into the method and it went to the custom ModelData class. I copied everything from the projects CustomModelAnimationWindows and CustomModelAnimationPipeline to my solution and set all the references. I tried the same line of code and couldn't step in the method. It called the default method or model constructor and after the line the model's Tag propetry was null. I have to load the model through my custom SkinnedModelProcessor class, but how I tell the game to use this class? In the tutroail CustomModelClass the line is changed to: model = Content.Load<CustomModel>("tank"); So I assumed that I have to set the generic type to a custom model class, but the first example works without it. If anyone has some useful advice or some other helpful link, I'll be happy to try it.

  I'm hoping that someone has a solution for what I'm trying to accomplish. I'm working on a travel agency web site and there's a "Overview" section for each cruise line. These overviews are located on the index page for each cruise line. Here's my issue: The company is creating a search engine that includes details on each cruise line. Their write-ups on each cruise line are great, so I'd like to include the overview they created for each cruise line, rather than having to create all new ones. However, I don't want duplicating their content to negatively affect the SEO scores of the pages they originally put this content on. It's gong to duplicate, since each page that's dynamically generated by their search engine is going to include a section about the cruise line (where I'd want to place the overview). Question: Is there any way that I can include these overviews (ideally, copying the exact HTML that they've already implemented) without the search engines indexing those particular code sections? I'd want the rest of the search result pages to be indexed...just not the section of each page that contains this duplicate code. I saw something about using a span class named robots-nocontent in Yahoo (not sure if this also applies to Bing) and googleon / googleoff tags in Google. Is this the best solution? I'm open to any suggestions, thanks!

• DVD ROM is not working

  (note: I don't know in which StackExchange site to put this question, I'll thank the moderator that will move it to a more appropriate place, if there is a S.E. available for my question). I have a DVD RW drive that is well listed in the bios, and if no CD is in, it is also present in the "My Computer" of my Fedora 16. But when I put a disc on it, the icon disapear from "My Computer", and I can not do anything with this ! (Like erasing a RW disc). I'd like to boot a Fedora 17 Live CD image. I burned it on an other computer but when I try to run it in bios, nothing is done and I'm redirected to Grub of my HD. (line 6) to DRIVER_SENSE (line 11) are repeating a lot. I then changed my DVD player with an other spare one I had, and the disc didn't boot neither. I then changed the IDE cable, but still no success. What can I do to make it work? Thanks for your help.
