  so i install ms communication server 2007 r2 and ms office communicator 2007 r2 for three user. so it is possible now to send video call from one person to another. you can use it so way: you choose a person from your contact list and from context menu choose 'send video call'. but when i choose several persons which I want to talk by video this option doesn't exist. (but it should be - http://www.useto.ru/images/01/image015.jpg). what is the problem and how can i tune up communication server or communicator for ability to send video call to several persons?

• Why is this PHP loop rendering every row twice?

  I'm working on a real frankensite here not of my own design. There's a rudimentary CMS and one of the pages shows customer records from a MySQL DB. For some reason, it has no probs picking up the data from the DB - there's no duplicate records - but it renders each row twice. The page PHP is viewable at http://christopher.pastebin.com/DQkjjG3s (attempted to include in this post but it was horribly mangled, think it's important to have it all in context). I'm not the world's best PHP expert but I think I can see an error in a for loop when there is one... But everything looks ok to me. You'll notice that the customer name is clickable; clicking takes you to another page where you can view their full info as held in the DB - and for both rows, the customer ID is identical, and manually checking the DB shows there's no duplicate entries. The code is definitely rendering each row twice, but for what reason I have no idea. All pointers / advice appreciated.

  A FTP Server that is built in with AIX (we are using version 6.1) returns this error message as a response code - "A system call received a parameter that is not valid" I am unable to see why the FTP Server returns such a value as response code. My search does not yield any results and am a bit dumbstuck on why this is happening. I can see some related responses which says the AIX server might return this strange looking message when some Concurrent I/O occurs but i can't see anything in the context of the inbuilt FTP Server. Looking for assistance.

• SCCM Client Push FAIL - Win2000 box

  Hello, When trying to install the SCCM client onto a Windows 2000 box, the install fails. The install script is run through a batch file (CONTENTS: \mdop\SCCM_client\ccmsetup.exe /mp:MDOP /logon smssitecode=MID smsslp=MDOP) hosted on a public area of the network. This script has worked for all machines (mostly Win2003 Server). I've tried enabling all the common services it requires (BITS, IIS Admin, Windows Installer), but it still only runs for a second or two then quits. Here's the piece of the log file where it errors out: [LOG[Couldn't get directory list for directory 'http://MDOP/CCM_Client/ClientPatch'. • gparted installed on OpenSuse shows all file system types as greyed out except for hfs

  I have had this problem before and fixed it, but I don't recall how I did it and I did not record it (sadness :( ) I have all the requisite commands installed on OpenSuse to support gparted's efforts in creating any of the supported file systems. I recall that the problem was that gparted could not find the commands, in any event all the file systems are greyed out in the context menu except for the legacy hfs partition which only supports < 2gb. Even extfs2-extfs4 are greyed out. How do I fix this?

• Runas Windows Explorer in Windows 7

  Hi All, Having a strange issue with Windows Explorer on Windows 7 Professional. When I try to open it up under different user credentials, I get the following error message: Results are the same whether I try it from the context menu or by using runas /user:DOMAIN\User explorer.exe However, if I open up a command prompt (using runas.exe) the behavior is a bit different: typing in just explorer or explorer.exe results in the same error. typing in explorer C: or explorer /E,... doesn't run anything. I'm dropped right back to the prompt. explorer process doesn't start. Has anyone seen this behavior before? If so, how can I go about changing it. Thanks.

• Asterisk - Trying to use call files to create a conference call between two dynamic numbers

  I'm trying to setup an Asterisk system that will allow me to create a conference call between two dynamic numbers. It seems I can use 'call files' to make Asterisk initiate the call without needing an incoming call - http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk+auto-dial+out This example seems to be what I'd need: Channel: SIP/mytrunk/12345678 MaxRetries: 2 RetryTime: 60 WaitTime: 30 Context: callme Extension: 800 Priority: 2 I can generate this file with some scripting language and then place it into the Asterisk Call File folder. The problem I'm having is: How do I call out to two numbers and join them in a conference call? The MeetMe plugin/extension seems to be what I need in terms of conference calling, I'm just unsure as to how I'd use the two together and join them. Also, is it possible to have multiple 2-person conference calls at the same time? Is setting this up as simple as setting aside X amount of 'channels' in the meetme.conf?

• ERROR 0x8007007A when trying to schedule a task

  I am getting the error "The data area passed to a system call is too small. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007A)" when trying to create a scheduled task on a particular windows machine. The problem description is identical to that described in this Microsoft KB article I followed their steps to resolve: Stopped the task scheduler service (right-clicked "Task Scheduler" in the Services window from Control Panel and selected "Stop"). Restarted the task scheduler service Waited 15 minutes tried to schedule the task. But the error is persisting. To give more context of how we are creating these scheduled tasks, they are actually generated automatically from a configuration script (we run the script each time we wish to make a change). Each time this happens, it deletes all of the existing tasks and creates new ones. I don't know what else to try.... but surely there is some way to "reset" the task scheduler... How can I stop this error from happening.

  In order to assess performance monitoring accuracy on virtualization platforms, the CPU steal time has become an increasingly relevant metric - see EC2 monitoring: the case of stolen CPU for an instructive summary in the context of Amazon EC2 and IBM's paper on CPU time accounting for a more in-depth technical explanation (including illustrations) of the concept: Steal time is the percentage of time a virtual CPU waits for a real CPU while the hypervisor is servicing another virtual processor. Accordingly, it is exposed in most related Unix/Linux monitoring tools nowadays - see e.g. columns %steal or st in sar or top: st -- Steal Time The amount of CPU 'stolen' from this virtual machine by the hypervisor for other tasks (such as running another virtual machine). I've been unable to figure out how to capture the same metric on Windows though, is this possible already? (Ideally for the Windows 2008 Server R2 AMIs on EC2 and via a respective Windows Performance Counters of course.)

• Tomcat cookies not working via my ProxyPass VirtualHost

  Hi there. I'm having some issues with getting cookies to work when using a ProxyPass to redirect traffic on port 80 to a web-application hosted via Tomcat. My motivation for enabling cookies is to get rid of the "jsessionid=" parameter that is appended to the URLs. I've enabled cookies in my context.xml in META-INF/ for my web application. When I access the webapplication via http://url:8080/webapp it works as expected, the jsessionid parameter is not visible in the URL, instead it's stored in a cookie. When accessing my website via an apache2 virtualhost the cookies doesn't seem to work because now "jsessionid" is being appended to the URLs. How can I solve this issue?   Hi, I'd like to simplify the URL's to access a Glassfish V3 application by removing file extensions and otherwise shortening URL's. I've already set my application as the default application, so that there is no need to include the context root in the URL. I'd like to: * Remove file extensions * Shorten the URL to files deep in the folder structure I'd like to do this using pattern matching rather than on a per file basis (Site is small at the moment but will change frequently and grow).   I'm trying to set up a folder in my home directory that will be shared with another user but for some reason it is not working this is what I've done, I have tried two different ways using ACL's and chown/chgrp etc I set up a group called say: sharedgroup and added both my user (john) and fred to it so when I run groups john john wheel sharedgroup groups fred sharedgroup fred mkdir /home/john/shared vim /home/john/shared/hello.txt (typed in some text saved it) chown -R :sharedgroup shared chmod -R o=-rwx shared ll drwxrwx--- 2 john sharedgroup 4096 Sep 9 21:14 shared ll shared -rw-rw-r-- 1 john sharedgroup 7 Sep 9 21:14 hello.txt (I also tried adding in the s permissions but that didn't help either) then when I log out of the server and log back in as fred and try these commands they fail vim /home/john/shared/hello.txt (won't allow me to write opens a blank file) cd /home/john/shared -bash: cd: /home/john/cis: Permission Denied ls /home/john/shared -ls: /home/john/shared: Permission Denied ls -lad /home/john/shared -ls: /home/john/shared: Permission Denied id fred uid=500(fred) gid=502(sharedgroup) groups=502(sharedgroup),500(fred) context=user_u:system_r:unconfined_t Any idea what I'm doing wrong??

• Copy-paste stops working on Windows 7

  Copy-paste functionality stops working after about an hour after each reboot on a Windows 7 64-bit system. Running Google Chrome (with gmail and few other tabs open like Calendar, Reader), MS Outlook (which I don't think has anything to do with the problem — I saw it when outlook was off as well), iTunes (9.1.1.12 if it matters). Would appreciate hints where and what for to look in a registry, and ideas for possible fix. That is not an Internet Explorer problem (I don't even run it) — it happens in all applications. Neither Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V nor context menu right-click Copy-Paste (actually, nothing happens on Copy, so there is nothing in a clipboard to Paste) are working. Drag-and-Drop (where supported) continues working though.

• IIS - Forwarding requests to a folder to another port

  Context I currently installed Glassfish 3 in a server that currently holds ASP and PHP inside Internet Information Server 7 so we can start moving to a new system architecture (the information system is being remade). Obviously, Glassfish uses another port and without too much configuration (all I had to do is to install it) it worked. If I write www.domain.com:8080, the person will be redirected to the Glassfish server. Issue Obviously I don't want the person to write the port! I also believe it might also hold some security issues. Requirement I need the server to take an address of the form www.domain.com/gf or new.domain.com or something alike, and when it receives such a request, "redirect" (masking the URL) the user to the Glassfish website (www.domain.com:8080). • Win 7 Privilege Level (Run as administrator) via GP or command line

  Is there a way to set the Privilege Level for legacy software via group policy or on the command line? I have some legacy software, which we unfortunately cannot move away from. This software requires administrator access. I know I can go into the Properties dialog and check "Run this program as an administrator" on every single instance on every single one of my workstations, but that gets old after the 30th install. If I had my way, we would dump this software, find some software that did what we needed, was fully compliant with Win7 security best-practices and give everyone limited user accounts... However, I am not the boss, so everyone gets administrator accounts. Given that, I suppose I could just tell everyone to open the context menu and choose "Run as administrator", but we have some very, very, VERY low-tech users, and half of them might just choose "Delete" instead. Anyone know of a way to set this option on the command line? or better yet, through Group Policy?

• How to modify PATH variable for X11 during log-in?

Decided to revise my question, based on what I learned there: Essentially, my problem is that I am working on some lab computers (read: no administrative rights) that, if I log in, I need to change the PATH variable as X11 starts. The reason is that I need to change the PATH variable at this time, as opposed to later, is that the Print Screen command seems to "bind" during login (forgive my bad explanation of this). You can see in the work-around I listed in the previous question, that I can make it work by starting a new X, but I was wondering if it is possible to change upon login. If this seems a poor explanation, you can check out the original link for my context and reasoning behind what I'm doing. Any ideas? • Can't delete some directories as Admin

  I am unable to delete the following directory in Windows 7 C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\iTunes The error message that is displayed when I try is: "You need permission to perform this action. You require permission from the computer's administrator to make changes to this folder." I am an Administrator and have UAC set to "Never Notify". iTunes is not running either (it's been uninstalled). I have tried running cmd.exe using "Run as administrator" from the right click context menu, then executing rmdir "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" but it just returns "Access is denied." Any ideas why I can't delete this dir? Thanks!

  I'm trying to set up postfix to allow relaying under a limited set of conditions: The destination domain is one of a pre-defined list -or- The client successfully logs in Here's the relevant bits o' config: smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=yes relay_domains=example.com smtpd_recipient_restrictions=permit_auth_destination,reject_unauth_destination smtpd_client_restrictions=permit_sasl_authenticated,reject The problem is that it requires that BOTH restrictions be satisfied, rather than either-or. Which is to say, it only allows relaying if the client is authenticated AND the recipient domain is @example.com. Instead, I need it to allow relaying if either one of the requirements is satisfied. How do I do this without resorting to running SMTP on two separate ports with different rules? Note: The context is an outbound-use-only (bound to 127.0.0.1) MTA on a shared web server which all site owners are allowed to relay mail to one of the "owned" domains (not server-local, though), and for which a limited set of "trusted" site owners are allowed to relay mail without restriction provided they have a valid SMTP login.

  Hi, I'm trying to grant read-only access (in other words: select queries only) to a user account on my SQL Server 2008 R2 database. Which rights do I have to grant to the user to make this work? I've tried several kinds of combinations of permissions on the server and the database itself, but in all cases the user could still run update queries or he could not run any queries (not even select) at all. • UAC-account-users can't see their mounted network-drives

  I wrote a few login batches in the Group Policy Management which mount specified devices to specified usergroups. The batches work as they should as long UAC is disabled. My problem is that the UAC-account-users can't see their mounted network-drives because the login scripts run in elevated context. I tried to fix the problem with PsExec (-l) so that the network-folders are mapped with limited user rigths. But it seems that this won't work. (PsExec is already installed on all computers so it can work local.) Has anyone an idea how to fix that problem? I spended a long time in trying to fix the problem but I did not find any solutions about THIS problem.

• "Manual threading" in Thunderbird?

  I use Thunderbird's threaded view of email messages to group emails together which are related. However, sometimes people will reply to messages using some mail program which does not properly set the headers to tell it's a reply, or will even write a new mail instead of replying. In these cases I would like to manually assign or "dock" a mail to an existing thread. Is there some way / addon to do this in Thunderbird? I'm thinking along the lines of a context menu "attach mail to thread XXX". The mail would then become part of that thread (maybe with a special marker explaining that it was manually grouped).

• Configure Mouse Buttons for "Administrator"/Elevated privileges

  I am, for better or worse, an administrator on my Windows 7 machine. However, even then, I still need to run certain programs "as Administrator" - for example, Visual Studio 2008 when working with local IIS sites. I also like to have the extra buttons on my IntelliMouse Optical doing non-standard things, like representing Ctrl and Shift. However, when in VS running as administrator, these settings aren't picked up, just like my mapped drives aren't picked up - I would understand this if I was logging in as a different user, supplying credentials, etc, but I'm not, I'm just pressing "Yes" at the UAC prompt. Normally, I'd just right click the item in the start menu and select "Run as administrator", but that's not an option on the context menu for either the Microsoft IntelliPoint Mouse application that appears under "Programs", nor the "Mouse" control panel item. Running the control panel as administrator also doesn't seem to help. So has any one got any suggestions on how I can configure my mouse buttons for the elevated version of me that Visual Studio is running as?
