  • wx Menu disappears from frame when shown as a popup

    - by Adam Fraser
    I'm trying to create a wx.Menu that will be shared between a popup (called on right-click), and a sub menu accessible from the frame menubar. The following code demonstrates the problem. If you open the "MENUsubmenu" from the menubar the item "asdf" is visible. If you right click on the frame content area, "asdf" will be visible from there as well... however, returning to the menubar, you will find that "MENUsubmenu" is vacant. Why is this happening and how can I fix it? import wx app = wx.PySimpleApp() m = wx.Menu() m.Append(-1, 'asdf') def show_popup(evt): ''' R-click callback ''' f.PopupMenu(m, (evt.X, evt.Y)) f = wx.Frame(None) f.SetMenuBar(wx.MenuBar()) frame_menu = wx.Menu() f.MenuBar.Append(frame_menu, 'MENU') frame_menu.AppendMenu(-1,'submenu', m) f.Show() f.Bind(wx.EVT_RIGHT_DOWN, show_popup) app.MainLoop() Interestingly, appending the menu to MenuBar works, but is not the behavior I want: import wx app = wx.PySimpleApp() m = wx.Menu() m.Append(-1, 'asdf') def show_popup(evt): f.PopupMenu(m, (evt.X, evt.Y)) f = wx.Frame(None) f.SetMenuBar(wx.MenuBar()) f.MenuBar.Append(m, 'MENU') f.Show() f.Bind(wx.EVT_RIGHT_DOWN, show_popup) app.MainLoop()

  • Grails UrlMappings with .html

    - by Glennn
    I'm developing a Grails web application (mainly as a learning exercise). I have previously written some standard Grails apps, but in this case I wanted to try creating a controller that would intercept all requests (including static html) of the form: <a href="/testApp/testJsp.jsp">test 1</a> <a href="/testApp/testGsp.gsp">test 2</a> <a href="/testApp/testHtm.htm">test 3</a> <a href="/testApp/testHtml.html">test 4</a> The intent is to do some simple business logic (auditing) each time a user clicks a link. I know I could do this using a Filter (or a range of other methods), however I thought this should work too and wanted to do this using a Grails framework. I set up the Grail UrlMappings.groovy file to map all URLs of that form (/$myPathParam?) to a single controller: class UrlMappings { static mappings = { "/$controller/$action?/$id?"{ constraints { } } "/$path?" (controller: 'auditRecord', action: 'showPage') "500"(view:'/error') } } In that controller (in the appropriate "showPage" action) I've been printing out the path information, for example: def showPage = { println "params.path = " + params.path ... render(view: resultingView) } The results of the println in the showPage action for each of my four links are testJsp.jsp testGsp.gsp testHtm.htm testHtml Why is the last one "testHtml", not "testHtml.html"? In a previous (Stack Overflow query) Olexandr encountered this issue and was advised to simply concatenate the value of request.format - which, indeed, does return "html". However request.format also returns "html" for all four links. I'm interested in gaining an understanding of what Grails is doing and why. Is there some way to configure Grails so the params.path variable in the controller shows "testHtml.html" rather than stripping off the "html" extension? It doesn't seem to remove the extension for any other file type (including .htm). Is there a good reason it's doing this? I know that it is a bit unusual to use a controller for static html, but still would like to understand what's going on.

  • PHP: Coding long-running scripts when servers impose an execution time limit

    - by thomasrutter
    FastCGI servers, for example, impose an execution time limit on PHP scripts which cannot be altered using set_time_limit() in PHP. IIS does this too I believe. I wrote an import script for a PHP application that works well under mod_php but fails under FastCGI (mod_fcgid) because the script is killed after a certain number of seconds. I don't yet know of a way of detecting what your time limit is in this case, and haven't decided how I'm going to get around it. Doing it in small chunks with redirects seems like one kludge, but how? What techniques would you use when coding a long-running task such as an import or export task, where an individual PHP script may be terminated by the server after a certain number of seconds? Please assume you're creating a portable script, so you don't necessarily know whether PHP will eventually be run under mod_php, FastCGI or IIS or whether a maximum execution time is enforced at the server level.

  • A question on delegates and method parameters

    - by Srinivas Reddy Thatiparthy
    public class Program { delegate void Srini(string param); static void Main(string[] args) { Srini sr = new Srini(PrintHello1); sr += new Srini(PrintHello2); //case 2: sr += new Srini(delegate(string o) { Console.WriteLine(o); }); sr += new Srini(delegate(object o) { Console.WriteLine(o.ToString()); }); //case 4: sr += new Srini(delegate { Console.WriteLine(“This line is accepted,though the method signature is not Comp”); });//case 5 sr("Hello World"); Console.Read(); } static void PrintHello1(string param) { Console.WriteLine(param); } static void PrintHello2(object param) { Console.WriteLine(param); } } Compiler doesn't complain about the case 2(see the comment),well,the reason is straight forward since string inherits from object. ,along the same lines ,Why is it complaining for anonymous method types(see the comment //case 4:) that “Cannot convert anonymous method to delegate type 'DelegateTest.Program.Srini' because the parameter types do not match the delegate parameter types” where as in case of normal method it doesn't ?or am i comparing apples with oranges? Another case is why is it accepting anonymous method without parameters?

  • search & replace on 3000 row, 25 column spreadsheet

    - by Deca
    I'm attempting to clean up data in this (old) spreadsheet and need to remove things like single and double quotes, HTML tags and so on. Trouble is, it's a 3000 row file with 25 columns and every spreadsheet app I've tried (NeoOffice, MS Excel, Apple Numbers) chokes on it. Hard. Any ideas on how else I can clean this thing up for import to MySQL? Clearly I could go through each record manually, row by row, but would like to avoid that if at all possible. Likewise, I could write a PHP script to handle it on import, but don't want to put the server into a death spiral either.

  • How to refactor these generic methods?

    - by Steve Crane
    I have written two nearly identical generic extension methods and am trying to figure out how I might refactor them into a single method. They differ only in that one operates on List and the other on List, and the properties I'm interested in are AssetID for AssetDocument and PersonID for PersonDocument. Although AssetDocument and PersonDocument have the same base class the properties are defined in each class so I don't think that helps. I have tried public static string ToCSVList<T>(this T list) where T : List<PersonDocument>, List<AssetDocument> thinking I might then be able to test the type and act accordingly but this results in the syntax error Type parameter 'T' inherits conflicting constraints These are the methods that I would like to refactor into a single method but perhaps I am simply going overboard and they would besat be left as they are. I'd like to hear what you think. public static string ToCSVList<T>(this T list) where T : List<AssetDocument> { var sb = new StringBuilder(list.Count * 36 + list.Count); string delimiter = String.Empty; foreach (var document in list) { sb.Append(delimiter + document.AssetID.ToString()); delimiter = ","; } return sb.ToString(); } public static string ToCSVList<T>(this T list) where T : List<PersonDocument> { var sb = new StringBuilder(list.Count * 36 + list.Count); string delimiter = String.Empty; foreach (var document in list) { sb.Append(delimiter + document.PersonID.ToString()); delimiter = ","; } return sb.ToString(); }

  • Android - Start service on boot

    - by Gady
    From everything I've seen on Stack Exchange and elsewhere, I have everything set up correctly to start an IntentService when Android OS boots. Unfortunately it is not starting on boot, and I'm not getting any errors. Maybe the experts can help... Manifest: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.phx.batterylogger" android:versionCode="1" android:versionName="1.0" android:installLocation="internalOnly"> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="8" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.BATTERY_STATS" /> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name"> <service android:name=".BatteryLogger"/> <receiver android:name=".StartupIntentReceiver"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.BOOT_COMPLETED" /> </intent-filter> </receiver> </application> </manifest> BroadcastReceiver for Startup: package com.phx.batterylogger; import android.content.BroadcastReceiver; import android.content.Context; import android.content.Intent; public class StartupIntentReceiver extends BroadcastReceiver { @Override public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { Intent serviceIntent = new Intent(context, BatteryLogger.class); context.startService(serviceIntent); } } UPDATE: I tried just about all of the suggestions below, and I added logging such as Log.v("BatteryLogger", "Got to onReceive, about to start service"); to the onReceive handler of the StartupIntentReceiver, and nothing is ever logged. So it isn't even making it to the BroadcastReceiver. I think I'm deploying the APK and testing correctly, just running Debug in Eclipse and the console says it successfully installs it to my Xoom tablet at \BatteryLogger\bin\BatteryLogger.apk. Then to test, I reboot the tablet and then look at the logs in DDMS and check the Running Services in the OS settings. Does this all sound correct, or am I missing something? Again, any help is much appreciated.

  • Reading numeric Excel data as text using xlrd in Python

    - by Brian
    Hi guys, I am trying to read in an Excel file using xlrd, and I am wondering if there is a way to ignore the cell formatting used in Excel file, and just import all data as text? Here is the code I am using for far: import xlrd xls_file = 'xltest.xls' xls_workbook = xlrd.open_workbook(xls_file) xls_sheet = xls_workbook.sheet_by_index(0) raw_data = [['']*xls_sheet.ncols for _ in range(xls_sheet.nrows)] raw_str = '' feild_delim = ',' text_delim = '"' for rnum in range(xls_sheet.nrows): for cnum in range(xls_sheet.ncols): raw_data[rnum][cnum] = str(xls_sheet.cell(rnum,cnum).value) for rnum in range(len(raw_data)): for cnum in range(len(raw_data[rnum])): if (cnum == len(raw_data[rnum]) - 1): feild_delim = '\n' else: feild_delim = ',' raw_str += text_delim + raw_data[rnum][cnum] + text_delim + feild_delim final_csv = open('FINAL.csv', 'w') final_csv.write(raw_str) final_csv.close() This code is functional, but there are certain fields, such as a zip code, that are imported as numbers, so they have the decimal zero suffix. For example, is there is a zip code of '79854' in the Excel file, it will be imported as '79854.0'. I have tried finding a solution in this xlrd spec, but was unsuccessful.

  • How to properly close a process with NppExec?

    - by Sam the Great
    I'm not sure what's going on here, but the following code continues running even after I end the process in the NppExec console with Ctrl-C (during the execution of the while loop). I restarted my computer to stop the Ctrl key sends. However, if I run the script in Window's cmd prompt, Ctrl-C ends the script just fine. import time import win32com.client shell = win32com.client.Dispatch("WScript.Shell") time.sleep(2) while True: shell.SendKeys('^') # Ctrl key time.sleep(0.5) The NppExec run command I used was: cmd /C python -u "$(FULL_CURRENT_PATH)" Let me know if there is any more information I can provide. Thanks.

  • load a pickle file from a zipfile

    - by eric.frederich
    For some reason I cannot get cPickle.load to work on the file-type object returned by ZipFile.open(). If I call read() on the file-type object returned by ZipFile.open() I can use cPickle.loads though. Example .... import zipfile import cPickle # the data we want to store some_data = {1: 'one', 2: 'two', 3: 'three'} # # create a zipped pickle file # zf = zipfile.ZipFile('zipped_pickle.zip', 'w', zipfile.ZIP_DEFLATED) zf.writestr('data.pkl', cPickle.dumps(some_data)) zf.close() # # cPickle.loads works # zf = zipfile.ZipFile('zipped_pickle.zip', 'r') sd1 = cPickle.loads(zf.open('data.pkl').read()) zf.close() # # cPickle.load doesn't work # zf = zipfile.ZipFile('zipped_pickle.zip', 'r') sd2 = cPickle.load(zf.open('data.pkl')) zf.close() Note: I don't want to zip just the pickle file but many files of other types. This is just an example.

  • error: expected constructor, destructor, or type conversion before '(' token

    - by jonathanasdf
    include/TestBullet.h:12: error: expected constructor, destructor, or type conver sion before '(' token I hate C++ error messages... lol ^^ Basically, I'm following what was written in this post to try to create a factory class for bullets so they can be instantiated from a string, which will be parsed from an xml file, because I don't want to have a function with a switch for all of the classes because that looks ugly. Here is my TestBullet.h: #pragma once #include "Bullet.h" #include "BulletFactory.h" class TestBullet : public Bullet { public: void init(BulletData& bulletData); void update(); }; REGISTER_BULLET(TestBullet); <-- line 12 And my BulletFactory.h: #pragma once #include <string> #include <map> #include "Bullet.h" #define REGISTER_BULLET(NAME) BulletFactory::reg<NAME>(#NAME) #define REGISTER_BULLET_ALT(NAME, CLASS) BulletFactory::reg<CLASS>(NAME) template<typename T> Bullet * create() { return new T; } struct BulletFactory { typedef std::map<std::string, Bullet*(*)()> bulletMapType; static bulletMapType map; static Bullet * createInstance(char* s) { std::string str(s); bulletMapType::iterator it = map.find(str); if(it == map.end()) return 0; return it->second(); } template<typename T> static void reg(std::string& s) { map.insert(std::make_pair(s, &create<T>)); } }; Thanks in advance.

  • org.apache.http.impl.cookie.BasicClientCookie not serializable???

    - by Misha Koshelev
    Dear All: I am quite confused... I am reading here and BasicClientCookie clearly implements Serializable per JavaDoc: http://hc.apache.org/httpcomponents-client/httpclient/apidocs/org/apache/http/impl/cookie/BasicClientCookie.html However, my simple Groovy script: #!/usr/bin/env groovy @Grapes( @Grab(group='org.apache.httpcomponents', module='httpclient', version='4.0.1') ) import org.apache.http.impl.cookie.BasicClientCookie import java.io.File def cookie=new BasicClientCookie("name","value") println cookie instanceof Serializable def f=new File("/tmp/test") f.withObjectOutputStream() { oos-> oos.writeObject(cookie) } outputs: false Caught: java.io.NotSerializableException: org.apache.http.impl.cookie.BasicClientCookie at t$_run_closure1.doCall(t.groovy:12) at t.run(t.groovy:11) I have checked and I have no other versions of HttpClient anywhere in classpath (if I take Grapes statement out it cannot find file). Thank you! Misha Koshelev

  • XCode project complains about missing files if a linked framework contains private headers

    - by darklight
    My Problem is this: My framework contains public and private headers - the public headers import private headers in the framework My app that links against this framework imports public headers Now when I compile it, XCode complains about missing files (the private headers that are indirectly imported via the frameworks public headers). I read somewhere on stackoverflow that I should do this: "In the public header file use @class to include other interfaces and use #import in the implementation file (.m)." I find this solution pretty unsatisfying - you have to use it for circular dependencies, too. Is there any better way to keep my headers private?

  • dreamweaver sites

    - by ngreenwood6
    Hello, We have over 500 sites that we host. All of there ftp information is in a database. Whenever one of our programmers have to add a site they have to get all the info and set it up. However, I found that you can export them and it has all the info except for one problem. The password is encrypted. I am not trying to hack anything, I want to know how to encrypt our passwords so that we can import them using dreamweavers import feature. Can anyone tell me what encryption they use or a link on how to encrypt. I am not interested in decrypting at all because we already have all of them so it would not do me any good. Thanks for any help

  • Is this a correct porting of java.util.Random in objectiveC

    I have ported the code inside java.util.Random class in objectivec. I want to have an identical random number generator so that it synchs with the server app running on java. Now is this a safe porting and if not is there a way to mimic AtomicLong as it is found in java? • multiline gtk.Label ignores xalign=0.5

    - by thomas
    A gtk.Label can't be aligned in center when line-wrap is turned on. Example code: import pygtk pygtk.require('2.0') import gtk class testwin(gtk.Window): def __init__(self): gtk.Window.__init__(self) width,height = 300,300 self.set_size_request(width,height) self.set_position(gtk.WIN_POS_CENTER) self.set_title("test window") label = gtk.Label("test text") label.set_line_wrap(True) label.set_justify(gtk.JUSTIFY_CENTER) label.set_alignment(0.5,0.5) label.connect("size-allocate",lambda l,s: l.set_size_request(s.width-1, -1)) self.add(label) self.connect("destroy", gtk.main_quit) self.show_all() testwin() gtk.main() It looks like this, that means, it's aligned left: http://m45.img-up.net/?up=pic122x97.png If you comment out line 14 (set_line_wrap) everything is perfectly fine: http://o54.img-up.net/?up=pic2y00p9.png Please note that yalign works fine. So it seems like the first argument in the gtk.Misc.set_alignment-function has no effect when line wrap is turned on. Using Fedora 16, 64bit, gtk 3.2.4, pygtk 2.24.0, python 2.7.2 Question: Is this intended or a bug? How is it supposed to be made or is a workaround available?

  • How to organize asp.net mvc project (using entity framework) and a corresponding database project?

    - by Bernie
    I recently switched to vs2010 and am experimenting with asp.net MVC2. I am building a simple website and use the entity framework to design the data model. From the .edmx file, I generate the database tables. After a few iterations, I decided that it would be nice to have version control of the database schema as well, and therefore I added a database project into which I imported the script that is generated from the datamodel. As a result, I have to generate the sql every time that I change the model and redo the import. The database project automatically updates the database. Although the manual steps to generate the sql and the import are annoying, this works pretty well, until I wanted to add the standard tables for user accounts/authorization etc. I can use the framework tools to add the necessary tables, views etc. to the database, but as I do not want to have them in the .edmx model I end up with a third manual step. Is anybody facing similar issues?
