• How to avoid last character truncation in editor

  Hi I am using WYSIWYG - jQuery plugin 0.4 for tinymce editor. whenever i am loading the editor, IFrame tag is created which is displayed is getting with textarea tag which is hidden. The problem here is the last character is getting truncated whatever we typed in the editor. I am seeing that hidden tag textarea is getting the value from the second character which is keyed from editor. Please let me know how to resolve this issue. Thanks Srinivas

• Should I host my site on my own hardware for streaming media site?

  Hi, We are developing a new movie review site, more or less similar to RottenTomatoes. Now since there will be a lot of streaming of movie trailers and we are expecting medium traffic, do you think 3rd party web hosting will cost a lot? Should we rather go for our own hardware server software? We expect around 10GB of streaming to happen per month from 2 - 6 months of web site launch. Less before and more after that period.   Hi I have a requirement to develop custom reports where we already have some reoprts developed using JasperReports using iReport tool. Now the requirement is to modify those reports design at run time. I should use those existing jrxml files and save as to new report then change the design at run time. Also I should see those newly created reports whenever I want. I have gone through the Jasper API and Dynamic Reports where we can create the reports dynamically at run time but we can't save the design (like JRXML). I am looking for any other JRXML design API to create and modify and save the Jasper Reports at run time. I appreciate if any one can help me. Thanks in Advance Srinivas

• xcode loading the images in background process, it leads to crash the application when i scroll the

  Hi, I have developed an application which has retrieved the information from remote location...so i put those in UITableView's Section.In response, i will be getting images also..for this i put the background process(only for images..because the app will take more time to retrieve images than text based information..).It is working fine...But if i scroll the tableview while loading the images..it is going to be crashed.... crash Log: Tried to obtain the web lock from a thread other than the main thread or the web thread. This may be a result of calling to UIKit from a secondary thread. Crashing now... could anyone has the solution for this..please let me know..how to resolve this crash...Even i used NSThread class for this.. but i didn't get the solution... Thanks, Srinivas G

  I've added the am-monkeyd PPA and upgraded my system. Yet, there's no sign of elementary in my fresh Maverick RC install. Have I done anything wrong? The PPA upgrades the default nautilus package and there is no separate "nautilus-elementary" package as of now. Now, there are three versions listed in the package properties: 1:2.32.0-0ubuntu1-ppa1 (maverick); 1:2.32.0-0ubuntu5~ppa5 (maverick); 1:2.32.0-0ubuntu1 (maverick); Anything you can make out from this?

  Hi, Lets say, I have a reader-writer system where reader and writer are concurrently running. 'a' and 'b' are two shared variables, which are related to each other, so modification to them needs to be an atomic operation. A reader-writer system can be of the following types: rr ww r-w r-ww rr-w rr-ww where [ r : single reader rr: multiple reader w : single writer ww: multiple writer ] Now, We can have a read method for a reader and a write method for a writer as follows. I have written them system type wise. rr read_method { read a; read b; } ww write_method { lock(m); write a; write b; unlock(m); } r-w r-ww rr-w rr-ww read_method { lock(m); read a; read b; unlock(m); } write_method { lock(m); write a; write b; unlock(m); } For multiple reader system, shared variable access doesn't need to be atomic. For multiple writer system, shared variable access need to be atomic, so locked with 'm'. But, for system types 3 to 6, is my read_method and write_method correct? How can I improve? • No GUI, only CLI is working

  Right now I'm working on I.MX53 Quick Start Board for which has provided me the eu-boot kernel image with it and Android rootfs. It is working fine. The problem is when I am trying to change the rootfs with Ubuntu, I am able to use CLI with all 6 terminals working but no GUI is working. I tried many versions of rootfs like Ubuntu 11.10, 12.04 and core etc. Everything with the same result. Please help me.

  Hello Experts, I have a 2D image and I want to create a anaglyph image for this single 2D image. To do this I need to create Left and Right views. I will considar my 2D image as Left view and I want to create Right View now. I came to know that the perspective rotation (about Y axis) and perspective skews will give the right image. • Changing value of a Numeric Stepper

  Hi, I am a newbie to Flex and programming. I am trying something where I have 2 Numeric Steppers. One numeric stepper holds values from 0-230 and the other from 0.00-0.99. My question is how to change the value of the first numeric stepper when the second numeric stepper goes from 0.99 to 0.00. Suppose the first numeric stepper has a value 10 and the second numeric stepper is being incremented continuously. As it reaches 0.99 and on mouse up on the up arrow, 10 should change to 11 and this numeric stepper goes to 0.00. Could anyone help me out with some code or suggestion? Thanks is advance, REDDY

• In ASP.NET, Can I Delete a row in GridView while the primary key of that table is not loaded into the gridview?

  Hi, I have a table with primary key whose importance is technically high and none business wise. So, when I display the table data to user, I would like not to show him the primary key. Even if I load it in sqldatasource and dont show (I did this by removing the cloumn in "Columns" tag of GridView), I am not able to update or delete row using the built-in UpdateCommand & DeleteCommand. I have created the delete paramters but it does nothing when I hit the delete button. How to get around it? Thanks R S Reddy

• Fairness: Where can it be better handled?

  Hi, I would like to share one of my practical experience with multiprogramming here. Yesterday I had written a multiprogram. Modifications to sharable resources were put under critical sections protected by P(mutex) and V(mutex) and those critical section code were put in a common library. The library will be used by concurrent applications (of my own). I had three applications that will use the common code from library and do their stuff independently. my library --------- work_on_shared_resource { P(mutex) get_shared_resource work_with_it V(mutex) } --------- my application ----------- application1 { *[ work_on_shared_resource do_something_else_non_ctitical ] } application2 { *[ work_on_shared_resource do_something_else_non_ctitical ] } application3 { *[ work_on_shared_resource ] } *[...] denote a loop. ------------ I had to run the applications on Linux OS. I had a thought in my mind, hanging over years, that, OS shall schedule all the processes running under him with all fairness. In other words, it will give all the processes, their pie of resource-usage equally well. When first two applications were put to work, they run perfectly well without deadlock. But when the third application started running, always the third one got the resources, but since it is not doing anything in its non-critical region, it gets the shared resource more often when other tasks are doing something else. So the other two applications were found almost totally halted. When the third application got terminated forcefully, the previous two applications resumed their work as before. I think, this is a case of starvation, first two applications had to starve. Now how can we ensure fairness? Now I started believing that OS scheduler is innocent and blind. It depends upon who won the race; he got the largest pie of CPU and resource. Shall we attempt to ensure fairness of resource users in the critical-section code in library? Or shall we leave it up to the applications to ensure fairness by being liberal, not greedy? To my knowledge, adding code to ensure fairness to the common library shall be an overwhelming task. On the other hand, believing on the applications will also never ensure 100% fairness. The application which does a very little task after working with shared resources shall win the race where as the application which does heavy processing after their work with shared resources shall always starve. What is the best practice in this case? Where we ensure fairness and how? Sincerely, Srinivas Nayak

• Google Webmaster Tools is showing duplicate URLs based on page title differences

  I have 700+ title tag duplicates showing in WMT. Every first link in that picture is as duplicate link of second one. I don't know from where the first link got indexed by Google when that link doesn't exist in the site. It's showing the title of every page as link. Original link: http://www.sitename.com/job/407/Swedish-plus-Any-other-Nordic-Language-Customer-Service-Representative-Dublin-Ireland. Duplicate link: http://www.sitename.com/job/407/Swedish-plus-Any-other-Nordic-Language-Customer-Service-Representative-Dublin-Ireland-Ireland. How can this happen? I have checked entire site I didn't find where the second version is linked. I have no images linked to with duplicated version of URL.

• Can't I just use all static methods?

  What's the difference between the two UpdateSubject methods below? I felt using static methods is better if you just want to operate on the entities. • What's the best way to manage list item sort order with Drag & Drop UI?

  I have a list of Students that I should display to user on a web page in tabular format. The items are stored in DB along with SortOrder information. On the web page, user can rearrange the list order by dragging and dropping the items to their desired sort order, similar to this post. Below is a screenshot of my test page. In the above example, each row has sort order info attached to it. When I drop John Doe (Student Id 10) above the Student Id 1 row, the list order should now be: 2, 10, 1, 8, 11. What's the optimistic (less resource hungry) way to store and update Sort Order information? My only idea for now is, for every change in the list's sort order, every object's SortOrder value should be updated, which in my opinion is very resource hungry. Just FYI: I might have at most 25 rows in my table.

• Drawing a random x,y grid of objects within a prespective

  I'm wrapping my head around OpenGL ES 2.0 and I think I'm trying to do something very simple, but I think the math may be eluding me. I created a simple, flat-ish cylinder in Blender that is 2 units in diameter. I want to create an arbitrary grid of these edge to edge (think of a checker board). I'm using a 3D perspective with GLKit: CGSize size = [[self view] bounds].size; _projectionMatrix = GLKMatrix4MakePerspective(GLKMathDegreesToRadians(45.0f), size.width/size.height, 0.1f, 100.0f); So, I managed to manually get all of these cylinders drawn on the screen just fine. However, I would like to understand how I can programmatically "fit" all of these cylinders on the screen at the same time given the camera location, screen size, cylinder diameter, and the number of rows/columns. So the net effect is that for small grids (i.e., 5x5) the objects are closer to the camera, but for large grids (i.e., 30x30) the objects are farther away. In either case, all of the cylinders are visible.

• iPhone 3d Model format: .h file, .obj, or some other?

  I'm beginning to write an iPhone game using OpenGL-ES and I've come across a problem with deciding what format my 3D models should be in. I've read (link escapes me at the moment) that some developers prefer the models compiled in Objective-C .h files. Still, others prefer having .obj as these are more portable (i.e., for deployment on non-iPhone platforms). Various 3D game engines seem to support many(?) formats, but I'm not going to use any of these engines as I would like to actually learn OpenGL-ES. Am I putting myself at a disadvantage here by not using a packaged engine? Thanks!

Some client code may get a reference of type A, others one of type B, etc. each actually the same Foo object but the interface exposing only a narrow subset of the functionality. Another case is why is it accepting anonymous method without parameters?
