exist for the emailaddress dont update data else create a user and update its profilexml from data fecthed from gedcom. for this i think i need some soln by which i can do only one roundtrip to database and can update all user's xml. or i can execute one sp to get userid from all users where i'll check if user exist then return userid else insert basic data and return inserted userid then for every user make xml from data and update it. please provide be suggestion what is best practice to do this kind of development. if need any more details please write me

• RPXNow user mapping

  I am looking into solutions for providing multiple login methods to my site. I found rpxnow.com and they map user accounts from all the different networks. My question is how do they know that I am user1 on twitter and bigdude2 on facebook? I'm hoping it goes beyond email lookups. The end result I want is a unique user in my database no matter what account they sign in with, dupes are a no-no, but most likely inevitable I am guessing.

  I'd like to accept JSON on an REST endpoint and convert it to the correct type for immediate validation. The endpoint looks like this: @POST public Response createCar(@Valid Car car) { // persist to DB // ... } But there are many subclasses of Car, e.g. Van, SelfDrivingCar, RaceCar, etc. How could I accept the different JSON representations on the endpoint, while keeping the validation code in the Resource as concise as something like @Valid Car car? Again: I send in JSON like (here, it's the representation of a subclass of Car, namely SelfDrivingCar): { "id" : "t1", // every Car has an Id "kind" : "selfdriving", // every Car has a type-hint "max_speed" : "200 mph", // some attribute "ai_provider" : "fastcarsai ltd." // this is SelfDrivingCar-specific } and I'd like the validation machinery look into the kind attribute, create an instance of the appropriate subclass, here e.g. SelfDrivingCar and perform validation. I know I could create different endpoints for all kind of cars, but thats does not seem DRY. And I know that I could use a real Validator instead of the annotation and do it by hand, so I'm just asking if there's some elegant shortcut for this problem.

  I have a class that I am using to model my data in MVC. I have added some DataAnotations to mark fields that are required and I am using regular expressions to check valid Email Addresses. Everything works fine if the object is posted back to MVC and I have the ModelState property that I can check to confirm that the class is valid but how do I check to see if the class is valid outside of MVC using the same class and Data Anotations that I have already set up?

  I am attempting to understand the world of WIF in context of a WCF Data Service / REST / OData server. I have a hacked up version of SelfSTS that is running inside a unit test project. When the unit tests start, it kicks off a WCF service, which generates my SAML token. I note that later in my code, when I need to check my identity, Thread.CurrentPrincipal.Identity is an instance of Microsoft.IdentityModel.Claims.ClaimsIdentity, which has a claim for all the attributes, plus a nameidentifier claim with the value in my NameIdentifier element in saml:Subject. It also has a property NameClaimType, which points to "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/name". It would make more sense if NameClaimType mapped to nameidentifier, wouldn't it? How do I make that happen? Or am I expecting the wrong thing of the name claim? Thanks!

  Hi all, Im currently working on a "proper" URI validator and currently it all comes down to hostname validation, the rest isnt that tricky. Im stuck at IDN hostname labels (e.g. containing unicode; possible punycode encoded strings have been decoded at this point). My first idea was basicly a regex for TLD's not supporting IDN and one for those who do (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/tld-idn-policy-list.html (?)). Respectively; ^[a-zA-Z0-9-]+$ and ^[a-zA-Z0-9-\p{L}]+$ However this is not an ideal situation, since every IDN registrar can decide which characters to allow and which not. What im looking for is a proper, consistent, up2date data table of unicode characters allowed in various TLD's; im getting this idea i have to find all the data myself at russian and chinese registry sites (which is quite difficult). So before spitting down the web.. i wondered is there such a list? Or are there better approaches, best/common practices etc? (I want the validation to be as strict as possible.)   I have a console application in Visual studio. i have log4net stuff with smtp appender in my app.config file. I have set environment variable in my code (i.e. my email address) and trying to reference this environment variable to send email. However log4net doesn't seem to read this value when the application is run.   I'm trying to design a database to record game histories for a game I'm working on. I have 3 different tables: users, gamehistories, and gamescores. Columns for tables: users: uid, displayname, email gamehistories: gid, pubID, start (datetime), end (datetime) gamescores: gid, uid, score I am trying to produce the following result set given a userID (uid): Opponent's displayname, my score, opponent's score, duration Any ideas? Is my design ok? How can I query these tables to get game histories for a given uid?

• Disable "mobile phone" and "fax" from joomla contact information

  Hi I have a joomla installation with a contacts form. Specifically, there are two contacts with position, email, name, phone. However, joomla seems to insist on having two empty columns "Mobile phone" and "Fax" that I can't seem to get rid of. • Localizing DataAnnotations Custom Validation Attribute

  Hello SO, I'm currently working in an MVC 2 app which has to have everything localized in n-languages (currently 2, none of them english btw). I validate my model classes with DataAnnotations but when I wanted to validate a DateTime field found out that the DataTypeAttribute returns always true, no matter it was a valid date or not (that's because when I enter a random string "foo", the IsValid() method checks against "01/01/0001 ", dont know why). Decided to write my own validator extending ValidationAtribute class: public class DateTimeAttribute : ValidationAttribute { public override bool IsValid(object value) { DateTime result; if (value.ToString().Equals("01/01/0001 0:00:00")) { return false; } return DateTime.TryParse(value.ToString(), out result); } } Now it checks OK when is valid and when it's not, but my problem starts when I try to localize it: [Required(ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(MSG), ErrorMessageResourceName = "INS_DATA_Required")] [CustomValidation.DateTime(ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(MSG), ErrorMessageResourceName = "INS_DATA_DataType")] public DateTime INS_DATA { get; set; } If I put nothing in the field I get a localized MSG (MSG being my resource class) for the key=INS_DATA_Required but if I put a bad-formatted date I get the "The value 'foo' is not valid for INS_DATA" default message and not the localized MSG.   I'm developing a pure JavaEE6 application with JSF 2.0 and Glassfish. My JSF implementation is Primefaces (beside Mojarra provided by Glassfish). I want to verify if the values of 2 password fields in a JSF form are equal. With Seam, there is the neat component <s:validateEquality for="pw1"/>. I want do to the same without Seam, just using JSF (or maybe a component of a JSF library). Until now i only saw examples which validate the form with a custom validator. But i would like to compare the fields without writing Java code or Javascript code. Is that possible? I want to have a progress hud displayed before the synchronous request and then dismissed after the request has finished. I want the SVProgressHUB to be displayed during this hang time, how can I do this?
