• Wierd Results A/B Test in Google Website Optimizer

  I set up a test in Google Website Optimizer that has a 3 variations - original (A), B, and C. In order to further validate the results of the test, I added a variation C that is exactly the same as the original. And thats where the results get weird. 6 days in to the test, the best performing variation is C. It outperforms the original by 18.4%! How is that possible? Do I now discount the results of this test entirely?

  Why do we still moan on wallhackers in multiplayer first-person shooters ? Isn't it possible to perform occlusion culling for all players server-side ? For example, send player xyz information to client only when the player is visible in client's frustum and not occluded by any object ? Even if the collision-geometry is very simplified, most of the time cheater won't receive tactical information. Why not do this ?

  As described in the title I experience a half a second delay when playing audio over Bluetooth with A2DP. This makes watching movies not possible as the sound is not synchronised with the video. I'm not sure if the delay is caused by the Bluetooth connection, the A2PD protocol, or the A2DP implementation on my Ubuntu 12.04. Anyways, is this a normal lag? Is there a way to play audio over Bluetooth without any latency?

  The only thing stopping me from making ubuntu 12.04 my main os is that a lot of programs I use on windows 7 and mac aren't available for download on ubuntu. Why don't popular software programs like photoshop or world of warcraft support linux? Also - Would a company have to create the program (ex photoshop) for every possible distro(gentoo, arch linux, ubuntu, etc...), or would they just have to make one binary and it would work across all distros?

  In Minecraft, the sunset looks really beautiful and I've always wanted to know how they do it. Do they use several skyboxes rendered over eachother? That is, one for the sky (which can turn dark and light depending on the time of the day), one for the sun and moon, and one for the orange horizon effect? I was hoping someone could enlighten me... I'm looking for an algorithm for pathfinding which will allow me to show an opaque shape representing all of the possible max-distance pixels that a mob can move to, knowing the mob's max pixel distance. Any thoughts on this, or do I just need to write a good pathfinding algorithm and use it to find the cutoff points for any direction in which an obstacle exists?

  Hello, I'm wondering if it's possible to get UFW to list the configured firewall rules even when it's not enabled. I only have ssh access to the server at this time, and I don't want to enable UFW if there's not a rule configured allowing ssh. However, since UFW is currently not enabled, I just get an "inactive" message when I run "ufw status". Is there a special flag I can use or even some config file I can look at to see what rules are configured even when the firewall is disabled?

Is it possible to install GRUB2 at /dev/sda1 partition? Is Ubuntu installer ready for that? Is there some configuration for GRUB2 to setup boot path for Windows 7 (HDD) and Ubuntu 12.04 (SSD)?

I am familiar with making changes to Web.Config but not sure about making IIS7 changes. What makes it more difficult is that I am using Windows Azure where new images are created every time I publish.   I have been trying to install Ubuntu on my step-son's netbook and I checked and his hard disk seems to be failing and i keep getting an error message that Ubuntu is unable to install due to hard disk failure. I was wondering how and if it is possible to install Ubuntu on this hard disk without it giving me an error message. I have tried the alternate install disk image and the regular desktop image and get basically the same error message. Is there a way to somehow override this and get it installed
