• Android ViewFlipper + Gesture Detector

  I am using gesture detector to catch "flings" and using a view flipper to change the screen when this happens. Some of my child views contain list views. The the gesture detector wont recognize a swipe if you swipe on the list view. But it will recognize it if it is onTop of TextView's or ImageView's. Is there a way to implement it so that it will recognize the swipes even if they are on top of another view that has a ClickListener?

• Date/Time formatting in .NET (Devexpress Gantt charts to show time rather than date)

  I have some data about a day's events that I'm trying to visualise as a Gantt chart using Devexpress XtraCharts. Devexpress's example here shows the chart being populated by date. However, I'd like it to be populated by time to compare the events throughout one day. My X-axis is displaying correctly - done like so: ganttDiagram.AxisY.DateTimeMeasureUnit = DateTimeMeasurementUnit.Minute I have data with the correct time, however, the label on each series is showing the date (which are all the same, because it's all the same day!) Thus, instead of being a bar, all of them are just single points, with the label showing 31/03/2010 - 31/03/2010. Each series is created with the code below: s.Points.Add(New SeriesPoint("Machine", New DateTime() {ev.StartTime, ev.EndTime}))

I am currently doing it by binding this XML when generated the WSDL stubs: <jaxws:bindings xmlns:jaxws="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/jaxws"> <jws:handler-chains xmlns:jws="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee"> <jws:handler-chain> <jws:handler> <jws:handler-name>ServiceRequestServiceClientHandler</jws:handler-name> <jws:handler-class>blah.ServiceRequestServiceClientHandler</jws:handler-class> </jws:handler> </jws:handler-chain> </jws:handler-chains> </jaxws:bindings> I was looking that the ServiceRequestService_Service object, and it seems like this could be done programmatically (easier in my opinion - less configuration files). new ServiceRequestService_Service().getHandlerResolver().getHandlerChain(PORTINFO).add(HANDLER); But, I do not know what the PortInfo object is, or how to obtain it in relation to the specific service. Has anyone done this?

If Bouncycastle is shipped along with SDK, what should i do to avoid these errors? I am using Android 1.6, eclipse-V3.4.0 on winXP . Thanks in advance

• WCF app Deployed on Win7 Machine and get connection refused error

  I have created a Sync Framework application based on the following sample from microsoft and deployed it to a new Windows 7 machine for testing. The app runs ok but when I attempt to communicate I get the following error: Could not connect to http://localhost:8000/RelationalSyncContract/SqlSyncService/. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8000. I am wondering if there is something I am missing. This is my first experience using WCF and followed microsoft sample code. I have disabled the firewall and opened port 8000 for both TCP and UDP. Not sure what to look at next. • Parsing a JSON Response from a .Net webservice

  Just to get this out in the open I am new to JAVA, KSOAP, and JSON. So I'll try to explain this the best I can. A while ago I created a webservice to be consumed by Blackberry Apps that we're built using the plug in for Visual Studio. Now the project I am working on, I want to consume the same webservice for Android devices. For the most part I have the base code for the Android app done and working. Here's my problem: I can successfully call the webservice and get a response. I know from creating the webservice that it sends a JSON response. My problem is trying to parse through the JSON response. I have found a few examples that I have been suiting to my needs however I am hung up on one thing. In the JSON each element is preceeded by "anyType" which is forcing my code to return no results (Ultimately I am binding the data to an ArrayList) Here's what I get if I "getProperty(0).toString()... anyType{Artist=anyType{TrackName=Champagne Supernova;}; Here is the code I am using to parse the JSON Object.... • "invalid label" Firebug error with jQuery getJSON

  Hi all, I'm making a jQuery getJSON request to another domain, so am making sure that my GET URI ends with "callback=?" (i.e. using JSONP). The NET panel shows that I am receiving the data as expected, but for some reason the Console logs the following error: "invalid label". The JSON validates with JSONLint so I doubt that there is anything truly wrong with the structure of the data. Any ideas why I might be receiving this error?

• Multiple calls to different page methods in same web page are not running in parallel (JQuery/Ajax/A

  I have several page methods defined in the code behind of an aspx page. I have several JS calls (see example below), one after the other, in the ready() method of JQuery to call these page methods. I noticed the javascript calls run asynchronously but the .NET page methods do not run in parallel. Page method 1 finishes first before page method 2 runs. Is there a way to get all the page methods to run all at the same time?   I have a ASP.NET 1.1 application running on IIS 6 / Windows Server 2003. It's our application, but we're trying to specifically replicate a customer's installation so the app folder has been copied entirely from their production server onto our test machine, and then we've created the Virtual Directory and Web Application for IIS manually. The problem I have is that when we access the app, we get the standard IIS security error message: The page cannot be displayed You have attempted to execute a CGI, ISAPI, or other executable program from a directory that does not allow programs to be executed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please try the following: •Contact the Web site administrator if you believe this directory should allow execute access. HTTP Error 403.1 - Forbidden: Execute access is denied. Internet Information Services (IIS) Now this is pretty standard, except as far as I can see it's not anything so simple. I have checked: IIS user has read access to the directory IIS user and Network Service users have read/write access to the Temporary ASP.NET Files folder Virtual directory is set to the correct version of ASP.NET ASP.NET 1.1 Web Service Extension is allowed Virtual directory has the correct mappings of file extensions and all verbs to the aspnet 1.1 DLL Virtual directory properties allow Scripts and Executables to be run Anonymous access is turned on and the username and password is correct What am I missing?

• Using Joda DateTime as a Jersey parameter?

  I'd like to use Joda's DateTime for query parameters in Jersey, but this isn't supported by Jersey out-of-the-box. I'm assuming that implementing an InjectableProvider is the proper way to add DateTime support. Can someone point me to a good implementation of an InjectableProvider for DateTime? Or is there an alternative approach worth recommending? (I'm aware I can convert from Date or String in my code, but this seems like a lesser solution). Thanks.   I'm trying to create an icon/widget (1 cell x 1 cell) that can be placed on the home screen of android. The widget will look and act exactly like the other standard shortcuts in android. It will have an icon and under that a label, it will be selectable with the trackball (highlight able) it will be highlighted when it is selected/clicked. How do I go about creating this home screen widget? Do I have to create the widget myself using code/xml or is there some standard xml, style, theme, code that I can use to ensure that the widget will have the same style/theme as the other home screen widgets? • .Net Crystal Report printing application running on termianal service connection errors when session

  I have created a .Net application to run on an App Server that gets requests for a report and prints out the requested report. The C# application uses Crystal Reports to load the report and subsequently print it out. The application is run on Server which is connected to via a Remote Desktop connection under a particular user account (required for old apps). When I disconnect from the Remote Session the application starts raising exceptions such as: Message: CrystalDecisions.Shared.CrystalReportsException: Load report failed This type of error is never raised when the Remote Session is active. The server running the app is running Windows Server 2003, my box which creates the connection is Windows XP. I appreciate this is fairly weird, however I cannot see any problem with the application deployment I have created. Does anyone know what could be cause this issue? EDIT: I bit the bullet and created the application as a windows service, obviously this doesn't take long I just wasn't convinced it would solve the problem. Anyway it doesn't!!! I have also tried removing the multi-thread code that was calling the print function asynchronously. I did this in order to simply the app and narrow down the reason it could fail. Anyway, this didn't improve the situation either! EDIT: The two errors I get are: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80000201): Invalid printer specified. at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.PrintOutputControllerClass.ModifyPrinterName(String newVal) at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.PrintOptions.set_PrinterName(String value) at Dsa.PrintServer.Service.Service.PrintCrystalReport(Report report) The printer isn't invalid, this is confirmed when 60 seconds later the time ticks and the report is printed successfully. • Can't run MonoTouch App

  Hi guys, This is not a really Programming Question, but please bear with me as it's related to the IDE that we use to develop and I'm really Stuck! :( Every time I create a project (can be an empty project) I get the message above when pressing Run or Debug. I have no Web Servers running the Web Share is off, the Zend Server as well MAMP is Off, the app itself does nothing as it's a blank project and if I run it on the iPhone/iPad Simulator, the app just opens and closes automatically :-/ I'm all new to monoTouch, but I wonder, does anyone has this problem and know what should I do? Yes, I can read the file by creating an instance of Excel, but I rather not.. • AndroMDA maven code generation and JPA Annotations

  I am using the AndroMDA plugin for maven to generate code from an uml diagram made in MagicDraw. When the code is generated, AndroMDA desings the JPA annotation for the persitence layer. I think that at the compilation process AndroMDA uses Naming Strategies to determine the Table and Column names for the DataBase. I want to determine how AndroMDA desings this JPA annotations, because I need to display this DataBase names based on the UML entity and atributtes names. I was regarding if there is an API of AndroMDA that I could use to do this by giving it the uml diagram. Or at least, to know the Naming Strategies used by AndroMDA to achive that. AndroMDA at the compilation process design the JPA annotations for the Entities, Attributes, etc that are written in my java classes under a series of rules that exist within the EJB3 cartridge of AndroMDA. (The further Database is created using those JPA annotations). I want to create a program that returns me the same Table and Attributes names wrote on the JPA annotations, by giving it the .xml file of the uml diagram of a project. I was hoping that I could take advantage of the EJB3 cartridge to generate those Tables and Attribute names with my program. One way could be using an API of AndroMDA that do this(if it exits), or at least, by implementing the same rules used by the EJB3 cartridge for that matter. To be more illustrative, For example: If in my uml model I have an Entity called “CompanyGroup”, AndroMDA would generate the following code for the class definition: @javax.persistence.Entity @javax.persistence.Table(name = "COMPANY_GR") Public class CompanyGroup implements java.io.Serializable, Comparable< CompanyGroup This is just an example (not a real case), but nevertheless, the way how AndroMDA do the translation from “CompanyGroup” to “COMPANY_GR” has to be specified somewhere. • SoapHttpClientProtocol disable ssl certificate validation

  I need to tell my C# soap web service consumer to not validate the certificate and just accept it. Is this possible? Why: we publish a https-only web service. A client needs to consume it but has some kind of firewall/proxy (WebSense?) which does something to the certificate to make it fail validation. At this point I don't even know the details of what it does, but the customer appears to be ok with forfeiting the benefits of SSL, so I'm looking for a workaround.
