• Very strange form behaviour

  I can't work this out. One minute it was working fine and now it's not and I can't see what's changed!! My problem is simply submitting a username and password for a login function. The form method is set to "post" but for some reason no data is getting through. If I dump $_REQUEST or $_POST they return empty. I know the form is submitting because if I change the method to "get" I receive the data as expected. Can anyone think of any reason why "get" would work when "post" isn't?!?!? If it's relevant, I'm using the codeigniter framework.

• Strange menu issue

  Just started out with Orchard and trying to just make pages and menus. I'm running into an issue where on my home page my menu shows: Home, Fruit, Vegetable, Carrot. I want it to show just Home, Fruit, Vegetable and when I click the respective item it adds the proper tabs. It DOES do it with Banana. ie: When I click Fruit, it shows Banana in the menu. But it always shows Carrot for some reason! I have the following setup. Navigation -Main Menu --Home --Fruit --Vegetable -Fruit Menu --Banana -Vegetable Menu --Carrot Widgits > Navigation > Main Menu, Fruit Menu, Vegetable Menu (Fruit and Vegetable Menus are in their own respective layers.) Path Examples: /Fruit, /Fruit/Banana, /Vegetable, /Vegetable/Carrot Thanks in advance.

  Stuck on the below for a day! Any insight would be greatly appreciated. The constant in the first block match0 behaves as expected. • Strange FileNotFoundException occuring on production server in console application

  Hi I have an application that works fine in my dev enviroment, but throws weird errors in the production enviroment, I checked the version of .net on my dev machine aswell as the production server , they both run 3.5.30729.01.   I have a question about the values returned by getPosition. Below is my code. This is what the MATLAB documentation says, but since the image is 576*120 (as displayed in the window) this is not logical. It seemed to me like, somehow, getPosition returns the y coordinate first. I need some clarification on this. Thanks for help

  I have custom SiteMapProvider and RoleProvider that works together properly: IsAccessibleToUser returns false if current user's role isn't mentioned in SiteMapNode.Roles for page requested. So breadcrumbs or menu doesn't show an item. But user still can type now showed URL directly and open a page. How can I block such behavior?   I'm getting different behavior from a regular expression in JavaScript depending on whether or not I declare it using literal syntax. Using a extremely simple test HTML file: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> var s = '3'; var regex1 = /\d/; var regex2 = new RegExp('\d'); alert(s.search(regex1)); // 0 (matches) alert(s.search(regex2)); // -1 (does not match) </script> </head> <body></body> </html> The regular expression declared with literal syntax (/\d/) works correctly, while the other (new RegExp('\d')) does not. Why on earth is this happening? I'm using Google Chrome 5.0.375.70 on Windows Vista Home Premium, if that's at all helpful.

• strange run time error message from CIImage initWithContentsOfURL

  When executing the following code I receive a run time error when the code executes the second line of code. The error (which shows up in the debugger) says: [NSButton initWithContentsOfURL:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x100418e10. I don't understand this message, because it looks to me (based on my source code) like the initWithContentsOfURL message is being sent to the myImage instance (of the CIImage class) ... not NSButton. Any idea what is going on? If it matters ... this code is in the Application Controller class module of an Xcode project (a Cocoa application) -- within a method that is called when I click on a button on the application window. • Strange centering problem in Firefox and IE8

  The navigation bar on my site http://hungryathome.net doesn't center properly on Firefox and IE8 Standards mode. It centers properly in IE7 Compatability mode and in Chrome. What's odd is that setting a Margin on the div (id="navlinks") to 4px or more will make it center properly. Any less will result in it being slightly off-center. I changed the values back and forth in Firebug and it's confusing the heck out of me. Any explanation for why that's happening?

  I have an input field where name='id' <input type='hidden' name="id" /> While jquery lib works fine in Chrome, it fails in IE. It works when I change from id to idfield - but our server code breaks since it expects the form with element key id. Is there a work around for this?   When I type a command $ grep \\h junk then shell should interpret \\h as \h as two pairs of \ become \ each, and grep in turn, should interpret \h as \h as \ becomes \, so grep should search for a pattern \h in junk, which it is doing successfully. But it's not working for \\$. Please explain why ?

  I am a little bit confused. Here is an small web page. There are two main div-s: top and mainBlock. First contain image. The problem is that firebug shows that div#top's height is equal to 0 and because of that the next div mainBlock moves up. If I would delete this peace of code: div#logo{ float: left; } everything will start working fine and div#mainBlock will be below the div#top. Could you, please, explain me how it works and how to avoid this in proper way? Anyway the animation android uses to open this activity is different from standard activity. It seems that two types of animation run concurrently: the usual fade animation and the right to left one. And the implementation section conforms to the NSCoding protocol as expected. HOWEVER, when I add a new class which inherits from this class, i.e. #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> #import "SelectableObject.h" @interface Pet : SelectableObject <NSCoding> { } @end I suddenly get the following compiler error in the Selectable object class! SelectableObject.h:16: error: expected '=', ',', ';', 'asm' or '__attribute__' before 'interface' This makes no sense to me. Why is the interface declaration for the SelectableObject class suddenly broken? I also import it in a couple of other classes I've written... Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks! • Very strange Application.ThreadException behaviour.

  I'm using the Application.ThreadException event to handle and log unexpected exceptions in my winforms application. Now, somewhere in my application, I've got the following code (or rather something equivalent, but this dummy code is enough to reproduce my issue) : try { throw new NullReferenceException("test"); } catch (Exception ex) { throw new Exception("test2", ex); } I'm clearly expecting my Application_ThreadException handler to be passed the "test2" exception, but this is not always the case. Typically, if another thread marshals my code to the UI, my handler receives the "test" exception, exactly as if I hadn't caught "test" at all. Here is a short sample reproducing this behavior. • Strange Sql Server 2005 behavior

  Background: I have a site built in ASP.NET with Sql Server 2005 as it's database. The site is the only site on a Windows Server 2003 box sitting in my clients server room. The client is a local school district, so for data security reasons there is no remote desktop access and no remote Sql Server connection, so if I have to service the database I have to be at the terminal. I do have FTP access to update ASP code. Problem: I was contacted yesterday about an issue with the system. When I looked in to it, it seems a bug that I had solved nearly a year ago had returned. I have a stored procedure that used to take an int as a parameter but a year ago we changed the structure of the system and updated the stored procedure to take an nvarchar(10). The stored procedure somehow changed back to taking an int instead of an nvarchar. There is an external hard drive connected to the server that copies data periodically and has the ability to restore the server in case of failure. I would have assumed that somehow an older version of the database had been restored, but data that I know was inserted 7 days and 1 day before the bug occurred is still in the database. Question: Is there anyway that the structure of a Sql Server 2005 database can revert to a previous version or be restored to a previous version without touching the actual data? No one else should have access to the server so I'm going a little insane trying to figure out how this even happened. Any ideas?

  I'm constructing an XElement with a couple attributes that have different namespaces. The code looks like this: var element = new XElement("SynchronousCommand", new XAttribute("{wcm}action", "add"), new XAttribute("{ns}id", Guid.NewGuid()), new XElement... ); The XML that is generated looks like this: <unattend xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend"> <SynchronousCommand d5p1:action="add" d5p2:id="c0f5fc6d-d407-4d3d-8a05-d84236cca2fb" xmlns:d5p2="ns" xmlns:d5p1="wcm"> ... </SynchronousCommand> </unattend> I'm just wondering if the auto-generated d5p2 is valid and why it is doing this. According to the XML standards here it seems like it would be valid. • Strange problem with PHP and sessions

  So the basis of this page is I set a session value when the page loads, and clear it on any other page they visit. Then the page can make an ajax call to download a file. If the session value matches the value I pass through the URL I allow them to download the file. If not I return a 404 error. I was having some weird issues, so I removed the 404 and set it to echo out the values instead to see what I was getting. Any ideas?

• Request attributes in jsf / icefaces behaves strange (survive request end)

  I have the following code in a listener method: FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequestMap().put("time", new Date()); When a button is clicked the following code is executed System.out.println(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequestMap().get("time")); One could except that "time" is null when the listener was not executed while processing the current request, but: it seems like the "time" object survives the request processing. So when "time" has been set sometimes in the past it stays there... can anybody explain this? Thanks.
