I'm soon to write a web based Twitter client which I plan to allow users to login with OAuth. My question is; can, once a user has logged in once already, my app login later and 'background' process their feed for them? I.E. does the user have to 'be there'?
I am looking for mobile development blogs that you can recommend. Specifically, I would to know about blogs on mobile application development (like Android, iPhone, BlackBerry, J2ME etc) and also blogs about mobile web development. Hi,
I've a cxf webservice with multiple endpoint. I've succesfully deploy it. The problem is all endpoint's WSDL appear in the same servlet URL.
Can i have 2 org.apache.cxf.transport.servlet.CXFServlet servlet in the same web.xml and each servlet serve one endpoint so that i have endpoint1 at http:/locahost/app/endpoint1 and endpoint2 at http:/locahost/app/endpoint2 .
Thank you.
Is it ok if everythingis looking ok but html and css are not valid , for CMS's Admin/control panel?

If you have a web page served from https://mydumbwebsite.com, and it has an iframe in it that serves from https://subdomain.mydumbwebsite.com, should I expect a significant number of browsers (like 1% of the current browsers in use) to show a security warning?
Please don't guess at this. I would like an answer based on real-world experience, if possible.
I wanted to know if there was a way I can get my python script located on a shared web hosting provider to read the contents of a folder on my desktop and list out the contents?
Can this be done using tempfiles?
I want to get the current weather conditions from the NOAA. I know they have a SOAP web service that can be used to get weather forecasts and XML files for current weather conditions for each of their weather stations. I could just use the XML file for the weather station nearest to where I want, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to search for the proper xml file by zipcode. Is there a simple way to get current weather conditions by zipcode from the NOAA?
Hi,
I just deployed a web application on JBOSS 4.2. It can be accessed locally only (http://localhost:8080/myApp).
I cant access it from remote computer by typing its domain: (www.hostname.com:8080/myApp).
I added Port 8080 as Exception in Windows Firewall.
Note that the host (www.hostname.com) is reachable from remote computers via IIS on port 80.
Thanks,
Rod
Hi all,
I did developed a custom SharePoint Web Service . It is working fine when using http. But when we configure SSL(https) , it is not working and throwing the below error.
Request for the permission
of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Security.SharePointPermission,
Microsoft.SharePoint.Security, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral,
PublicKeyToken=71e9bcee11233hj' failed.
Does anyone came accross a similar situation or any ideas on why this is happening?
Thanks
Carol
I have been using Dreamweaver for my web development and would like to try out eclipse. I would like to keep the source files where they are now. What do I need to set for my workspace and then how do I set it to look at my existing files?
In one of the Stackoverflow podcasts, I remember Jeff Atwood saying that there was a configuration option in SQL Server 2008 which cuts down on locking, and was kind of an alternative to using "with (nolock)" in all your queries. Does anybody know how to enable the feature he was talking about, possibly even Jeff himself. I'm looking at deploying SQL Server 2008, and want to see if using a feature like this would help out my web application.
Building an iPhone OS application that will allow users to anonymously post information to a web application (in my particular case it will be a Rails based site) ... and I want to ensure that I only accept posts that originate from a specific application running on an iPhone/iTouch.
How is this best accomplished?
(btw, if your answer applies to Android please feel free to post it here as well as I'm curious to know if the techniques are the same or vary).
Thanks
I've seen some questions where people have trouble with accessing .NET SOAP web services from PHP and there appears to be an issue with namespaces when using a distributed WSDL.
Are there any other problems with the inbuilt SOAP support in PHP 5.3?
I'm building a web app with custom components. I need a way to route requests to class / methods, is there any standalone java library that can achieve that (in a sexy manner [1]) ?

Let's say you're away from your computer and all you've got is a web browser. You'd still like to run a piece of code (e.g. to check an answer on SO). What are your options?
Let's create a list of on-line interpreters of various programming languages. Here are some examples:

I'm working on a web application and I'm using the img tag (<img...>).
When the src property is empty, it shows the red x figure indicating that there is no image.
Is there any way to hide that red X icon?
I'm editing a Visual Studio 2010 web application.
When saving changes to a code-behind file, the file becomes read only in the editor for 1-2 minutes. Closing and re-opening the file makes it editable again.
As I save quite frequently, this can be a pain.
Has anyone else run into this issue, and know any work-arounds?

Hi I am writing a web app (mainly iphone targeted) where the user has to enter their dob as part of the log in, I need this to be <input type = 'password'however I also want to enable the numeric section of the keyboard. I would usually change the type attr to 'number' however as this needs to be hidden I wondered if there was another way to activate the numeric pad
Cheers!

Hi,
I have a flex application that makes use of the autocomplete control. And I use a web service to download the data after successful login. My problem is that the data in Mb is about 4Mb and it takes quite a while to decompress in the application (after downloading it every time). Is there a way to make use of the browser cache to store that data from flex to save time on downloading that data each time?

Hello everybody.
Public web-site provides list of employees to Internet visitors. Contact information is hidden but visitor can send email via popup email-form.
What do you think about automated-scripts/viruses/bot spam activity? Is Capture a "must" for this functionality and what kind of precautions can you suggest also?
Thank you in advance
Hey, I've been developing an application in the windows console with Java, and want to put it online in all of its console-graphics-glory.
Is there a simple web applet API I can use to port my app over?
I'm just using basic System.out and System.in functionality, but I'm happy to rebuild my I/O wrappers.
I think something along these lines would be a great asset to any beginning Java developers who want to put their work online.
