    Hello, I have a field in my DB that holds value separated by commas like; $tmp_list = "COB,ISJ,NSJ," Now when I fetch that the row, I would like to have them in an array. I have used array($tmp_list) but I get the values in one line only like: [0] => 'COB,ISJ,NSJ,' instead of [0] => 'COB', [1] => 'ISJ', [2] => 'NSJ' All help is appriciated.

    I want to show a user the recent uploads from their friends. I have the users friends id's in an array: $friends A user could have, potentially, thousands of friends. I can select the uploads from 1 of a users friends with: $row = $mysqli->query("SELECT * FROM photos WHERE uploader_id = ".$friend." ORDER BY date_uploaded DESC LIMIT ".$page.", 25"); But I need to find all of a users friends uploads. I thought about doing this in a loop iterating over the $friends array, but then I'd be potentially running thousands of mysql queries. How can I do this most efficiently? so to clarify: search a 'photos' table for photos which are uploaded by specific users(friends), held in $friends variable, sort by date_uploaded and limit to x results so I can have pages 1, 2, 3 etc.

  • PHP imap_search not detecting all messages in gmail inbox

    When I run a very simple imap_search on my GMail inbox, the search returns less messages than it should. Here is the script that anyone with a GMail account can run. $host = '{imap.gmail.com:993/imap/ssl}'; $user = 'foo'; $pass = 'bar'; $imapStream = imap_open($host,$user,$pass) or die(imap_last_error()); $messages = imap_search($imapStream,"ALL"); echo count($messages); imap_close($imapStream); This returns 39 messages. But, I've got 100 messages in my inbox, some in conversations, some forwarded from another account (SquirrelMail, FWIW). Can anyone duplicate these results, and/or tell me what's going on?     Hi, I'm trying to get the users full activity throughout the website. I need to Join many tables throughout the database, with that condition that it is one user. What I currently have written is: SELECT * FROM comments AS c JOIN rphotos AS r ON c.userID = r.userID AND c.userID = '$defineUserID'; But What it is returning is everything about the user, but it repeats rows. For instance, for one user he has 6 photos and 5 comments So I expect the join to return 11 rows. Instead it returns 30 results like so: PhotoID = 1; CommentID = 1; PhotoID = 1; CommentID = 2; PhotoID = 1; CommentID = 3; and so on... What am i doing wrong?

I've almost no friends that are experienced (or more experienced than me) programmers to learn from, so I am looking for the next best thing - learning from the work of strangers. Can anyone recommend a real world finished and working application written well and OOP-centered. I'd like to take and analyze its source. Bonus if it's based on Zend Framework. What I am interested most in is objects that unlike desktop applications, have only one real operation done to them (or to their representation in DB or session) during their lifetime (or pageload), like user-logIn(). I'm interested in optimal and reusable design patterns and their real life implementations.

    I have a list of items that the user can select. I want it to be more user friendly than standard checkboxes so I have seperate div's each with a unique id. When user clicks an item, I use javascript to display a tick on top of that item and change the style to show that it is highlighted. Im trying to work out how I can pass the list of id's when the form is submitted. Remember, if the user unticks an item, it should be removed from the list, I was thinking of using comma seperated values in a hidden text field but couldnt work out how to remove items from the start of the list if they were deselected

    Hello I'm getting a bunch of weird html output in users messages e.g. \u0644\u064a\u0646\u0643 \u0627\u0644 \u0639\u0627\u0645\u0644 I assume their aribic characters decoded? How can I perhaps preg replace all these codes with something a little more useful? because search results are filled with pages and pages of this stuff Perhaps even display them as they're supposed to be? Any advice what to do with such strings and how to implement them appreciated.. Please keep in mind this stuff is mixed in been common language letters / numbers many thanks

    I have a site that uses cURL to access some pages, stores the returned results in variables, and then uses these variables within its own page. The script works well except where the target cURL page has a header('Location: ...') command inside it. It seems to just ignore this header command. The cURL command is as follows... //Load result page into variable so portions can be allocated to correct variables $ch = curl_init(); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $url); # URL to post to curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1 ); # return into a variable curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, 0); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $postfields); $loaded_result = curl_exec( $ch ); # run! curl_close($ch); I've tried changing the CURLOPT_HEADER to 1 but it doesn't do anything. So how can I allow script redirection within the target urls using cURL to grab the results? By the way, the pages work fine if accessed other than via cURL but iFrames are not an option in this instance.
