    When i complete gzip with IIS, and i restart the server the problem came: that the "web service extension" the point to "c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\gzip.dll" has been auto deleted! so awesome, but why? Or is there a way to wake it up (or a way to program it to wake up) by pushing the buttons on the front, rather than using the power button?     Hi there, I have a model Follow that defines a user_id and a followed_user_id. If you've used Twitter, this should make sense. I'm trying to make followed_user_id point to a User model, so I can access the user that is being followed through f.followed_user (in the same way that if I have an Entry with belongs_to :user and a user_id column I can use entry.user to get the user.) How can I do this? Thanks!

    I have richTextBox1, and here is the contents: line one from my textbox is this, and i want this to be normal, arial, 8 point non-bold font line two, i want everything after the | to be bolded... | this is bold line three: everything in brackets i (want) to be the color (Red) line 4 is "this line is going to be /slanted/ or with italics and so on, basically if I know how to do what I mentioned above, I'll know everything I need to know to complete my project.     Say I have http://www.mysite.com/I-Like-Cheeseburgers and I want that to point to Item with id 3. Sometime later, I change the name of the item, and now its http://www.mysite.com/I-Like-Hamburgers (and perhaps many more times). I want all these URLs to remain pointing to Item 3. Is it efficient to simply keep a table of [strings,item_ids] and do a lookup on this? Is there a better way?

    I can achieve this by gcc : gcc -mwindows -o simple simple.c But only find this in cmake: add_executable(simple WIN32 simple.c) But it's not exactly the same as -mwindows, this will require the entry point to be WinMain, while gcc -mwindows doesn't require this(can be main). How should I do it properly?

    I realize that, generally speaking, there are performance implications of using reflection. (I myself am not a fan of reflection at all, actually; this is a purely academic question.) Suppose there exists some class that looks like this: public class MyClass { public string GetName() { return "My Name"; } } Bear with me here. I know that if I have an instance of MyClass called x, I can call x.GetName(). Furthermore, I could set a Func<string> variable to x.GetName. Now here's my question. Let's say I don't know the above class is called MyClass; I've got some object, x, but I have no idea what it is. I could check to see if that object has a GetName method by doing this: MethodInfo getName = x.GetType().GetMethod("GetName"); Suppose getName is not null. Then couldn't I furthermore check if getName.ReturnType == typeof(string) and getName.GetParameters().Length == 0, and at this point, wouldn't I be quite certain that the method represented by my getName object could definitely be cast to a Func<string>, somehow? I realize there's a MethodInfo.Invoke, and I also realize I could always create a Func<string> like: Func<string> getNameFunc = () => getName.Invoke(x, null); I guess what I'm asking is if there's any way to go from a MethodInfo object to the actual method it represents, incurring the performance cost of reflection in the process, but after that point being able to call the method directly (via, e.g., a Func<string> or something similar) without a performance penalty. What I'm envisioning might look something like this: // obviously this would throw an exception if GetActualInstanceMethod returned // something that couldn't be cast to a Func<string> Func<string> getNameFunc = (Func<string>)getName.GetActualInstanceMethod(x); (I realize that doesn't exist; I'm wondering if there's anything like it.) If what I'm asking doesn't make sense, or if I'm being unclear, I'll be happy to attempt to clarify.

    I'm trying to write a ruby script which automatically downloads some files from some server ever 30-45 minutes (to prevent overload) as long as my computer is turned on. It's possible that my computer might be turned off at some point, but the download should resume (probably re-download the current file). I already have the file list but I can't figure out how to make such a script to run autonomously. What are some ways I can do this?
