They are both wordpress 2.8.6 (so they have exactly the same source code, plugins apart) but they are located on two different hosting platform (hostmonster.com and aruba.it). To explain my problem I've dumped with SmartSniff a session with each one of the sites. The content is generated so the post author can't deliberately insert a BOM and I've verified the template to be BOM free too.   • Rails / ActiveRecord Modeling Help

    I’m trying to model a relationship in ActiveRecord and I think it’s a little beyond my skill level. Here’s the background. This is a horse racing project and I’m trying to model a horses Connections over time. Connections are defined as the Horse’s Current: Owner, Trainer and Jockey. Over time, a horse’s connections can change for a lot of different reasons: The owner sells the horse in a private sale The horse is claimed (purchase in a public sale) The Trainer switches jockeys The owner switches trainers In my first attempt at modeling this, I created the following tables: Horses, Owners, Trainers, Jockeys and Connections. Essentially, the Connections table was the has-many-through join table and was structured as follows: Connections Table 1 Id Horse_id Owner_id Trainer_id Jockey_id Status_Code Status_Date Change_Code The Horse, Owner, Trainer and Jockey foreign keys are self explanatory. The status code is 1 or 0 (1 active, 0 inactive) and the status date is the date the status changed. Change_code is and integer or string value that represent the reason for the change (private sale, claim, jockey change, etc) The key benefit of this approach is that the Connection is represented as one record in the connections table. The downside is that I have to have a table for Owner (1), Trainer (2) and Jockey (3) when one table could due. In my second attempt at modeling this I created the following tables: Horses, Connections, Entities The Entities tables has the following structure Entities Table id First_name Last_name Role where Role represents if the entity is a Owner, Trainer or Jockey. Under this approach, my Connections table has the following structure Connections Table 2 id Horse_id Entity_id Role Status_Code Status_Date Change_Code 1 1 1 1 1 1/1/2010 2 1 4 2 1 1/1/2010 3 1 10 3 1 1/1/2010 This approach has the benefit of eliminating two tables, but on the other hand the Connection is now comprised of three different records as opposed to one in the first approach. What believe I’m looking for is an approach that allows me to capture the Connection in one record, but also uses an Entities table with roles instead of the Owner, Trainer and Jockey tables. I’m new to ActiveRecord and rails so any and all input would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps there are other ways that would even be better. Thanks!

    Hello, I'm trying to execute a shell command from a java application, on the GNU/Linux platform. The problem is that the script, that calls another java application, never ends, although it runs successfully from bash. I tried to debug it: (gdb) bt #0 0xb773d422 in __kernel_vsyscall () #1 0xb7709b5d in pthread_join (threadid=3063909232, thread_return=0xbf9cb678) at pthread_join.c:89 #2 0x0804dd78 in ContinueInNewThread () #3 0x080497f6 in main () I tried with: ProcessBuilder(); and Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd); Looks like it waits for something to finish.     To test, you'd have to log in to the example page here: http://www.avaline.com /Drinkware/Sport-Water-Bottles/Monterey-DAB20 From there, the Color drop-down swaps out the right color images in IE8, FF3.6(the latest), Chrome4.1(up to date), but not in IE7. I don't get it...but I'm plugging along trying to debug it with visual studio.

  • how to run phantomjs on heroku?

    I am trying to run phantomjs on the heroku cedar stack. I am using a phantomjs buildpack for heroku https://github.com/stomita/heroku-buildpack-phantomjs. However I followed the instructions but still cannot make it work. When I run the command heroku run bash and type phantomjs --version it says phantomjs: command not found I read things about LD_LIBRARY_PATH that needs to be set to "/usr/local/lib:/usr/lib:/lib:/app/vendor/phantomjs/lib", this is what i did but without success. Is there something that i am missing ? Where does the buildpack install the phantomjs binary exactly ? Is there a way to know the path where the binary is ? I am using ruby 1.9.2 Thanks a lot for your help. EDIT: To be more precise, i want to combine ruby and phantomjs, so i am using this custom buildpack: https://github.com/ddollar/heroku-buildpack-multi, but when i push to heroku i get "Heroku push rejected, failed to compile Multipack app"

My question: Should I send ctrl+c (SIGINT) to the input NSPipe for my NSTask? inputPipe = [NSPipe pipe]; taskInput = [inputPipe fileHandleForWriting]; NSString dataString = @"\cC"; [taskInput writeData:[dataString dataUsingEncoding: [NSString defaultCStringEncoding]]]; Alternatively, I was thinking about using kill( pid, SIGINT ); but it would be much more complicated since the process ID has to be determined via a detour ([task processIdentifier] does not help here) - the original NSTask calls: /bin/bash -c sudo -S | mypassword .... That's not nice, I know but it is only called once and the sudo password has been entered in that case already. thanks for any suggestions/opinions/etc. Ron

    I am currently watching the 80 minute ASP.NET MVC introduction. Automatically generating views from a model is pretty neat, but it seems to me that that the automatically generated views could be much better. For a start, instead of inputing dates with text boxes, there could be a date control. Additionally, number inputs could be verified client side. There are probably other improvements that could be made as well. Is it possible to automatically generate better views?

    Hi, I am trying to get somehow all the revision log that were made to a particular file, but I seem to stupid to do that :( To checkout a module I do the following CVSROOT="/home/projects/stuff/" cvs co myworkingdir within myworkingdir I have a testfile called paper.tex and from this I wanna try to get the revisions but I tried the following but nothing works ... CVSROOT="/home/projects/stuff/" cvs log paper.tex cvs log: cannot open CVS/Entries for reading: No such file or directory cvs log: nothing known about paper.tex -bash-3.2$ CVSROOT="/home/projects/stuff/" cvs log myworkingdir/paper.tex cvs [log aborted]: no such directory `myworkingdir' Anyone an idea how I could get the log of the revisions of the paper.tex file in the myworkingdir module?     I've googled this and could'nt find anything new and useful for Apple's new OS SnowLeopard. I wonder if this is my mistake or I do need to do something? this is what I did: Downloaded from mysql site: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/5.1.html#macosx-dmg I choose : Mac OS X 10.5 (x86_64) I run all the packages and installed all of them. So now I certainly have mysql in /usr/local/mysql/ But when trying to start it from preferences panel, it is always STOPPED. When I try to do (in the terminal): /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql I got : -bash: /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql: Bad CPU type in executable What is wrong here? Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks

I want to update the Articles to contain a denormalized field sort_name from the most recent Revision's name field. What SQL command can I issue to fill in each Article's sort_name field with its most recent Revision's name field? For what it's worth, I'm on PostgreSQL.
