  • Headers on the second row in FasterCSV?

    G'day guys, I'm currently using fasterCSV to parse a CSV file in ruby, and wondering how to get rid of the initial row of data on a CSV (The initial row contains the time/date information generated by another software package) I tried using fasterCSV.table and then deleting row(0) then converting it to a CSV document then parsing it but the row was still present in the document. Any other ideas? fTable = FasterCSV.table("sto.csv", :headers => true) fTable.delete(0)

  • Expression Too Complex In Access 2007

    When I try to run this query in Access through the ODBC interface into a MySQL database I get an "Expression too complex in query expression" error. The essential thing I'm trying to do is translate abbreviated names of languages into their full body English counterparts. I was curious if there was some way to "trick" access into thinking the expression is smaller with sub queries, or if someone else had a better idea of how to solve this problem. I thought about making a temporary table and doing a join on it, but that's not supported in Access SQL. Just as an FYI, the query worked fine until I added the big long IFF chain. I tested the query on a smaller IFF chain for three languages, and that wasn't an issue, so the problem definitely stems from the huge IFF chain (It's 26 deep). Also, I might be able to drop some of the options (like combining the different forms of Chinese or Portuguese) As a test, I was able to get the SQL query to work after paring it down to 14 IFF() statements, but that's a far cry from the 26 languages I'd like to represent. The list of languages should have been a table in the database and the login.lang should have been a FK into that table. Unfortunately this isn't how the database was written, and it's not really mine to modify. The languages are placed into the login.lang field by the PHP running on top of the database.

  • When are response headers created in ASP.NET web forms?

    I read somewhere the you can't remove response headers once they've been added. Given that, I'm wondering where in a standard ASP.NET web forms application do response headers get added initially. For example, these: Date Fri, 23 Apr 2010 16:25:56 GMT Server Microsoft-IIS/6.0 X-Powered-By ASP.NET Cache-Control private And can I stop it from happening? Do subsequent headers override old headers? Does my question even make sense? Thanks.

  • dynamiclly schedule a lead sales agent

    I have a website that I'm trying to migrate from classic asp to asp.net. It had a lead schedule, where each sales agent would be featured for the current day, or part of the day.The next day a new agent would be scheduled. It was driven off a database table that had a row for each day in it. So to figure out if a sales agent would show on a day, it was easy, just find today's date in the table. Problem was it ran out rows, and you had to run a script to update the lead days 6 months at a time. Plus if there was ever any change to the schedule, you had to delete all the rows and re-run the script. So I'm trying to code it where sql server figures that out for me, and no script has to be ran. I have a table like so CREATE TABLE [dbo].[LeadSchedule]( [leadid] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [userid] [int] NOT NULL, [sunday] [bit] NOT NULL, [monday] [bit] NOT NULL, [tuesday] [bit] NOT NULL, [wednesday] [bit] NOT NULL, [thursday] [bit] NOT NULL, [friday] [bit] NOT NULL, [saturday] [bit] NOT NULL, [StartDate] [smalldatetime] NULL, [EndDate] [smalldatetime] NULL, [StartTime] [time](0) NULL, [EndTime] [time](0) NULL, [order] [int] NULL, So the user can schedule a sales agent depending on their work schedule. Also if they wanted to they could split certain days, or sales agents by time, So from Midnight to 4 it was one agent, from 4-midnight it was another. So far I've tried using a numbers table, row numbers, goofy date math, and I'm at a loss. Any suggestions on how to handle this purely from sql code? If it helps, the table should always be small, like less than 20 never over 100. update After a few hours all I've managed to come up with is the below.     There are lots of questions that ask this or a similar question. They all give the command that has to be executed, what I don't understand is where do I write this command. I want to permanently increase the heap space for my tomcat apps. I read this page http://javahowto.blogspot.com/2006/06/6-common-errors-in-setting-java-heap.html and it says under the Tomcat section Stop Tomcat server, set environment variable CATALINA_OPTS, and then restart Tomcat. Look at the file tomcat-install/bin/catalina.sh or catalina.bat for how this variable is used. For example, set CATALINA_OPTS=-Xms512m -Xmx512m (Windows, no "" around the value) export CATALINA_OPTS="-Xms512m -Xmx512m" (ksh/bash, "" around the value) setenv CATALINA_OPTS "-Xms512m -Xmx512m" (tcsh/csh, "" around the value) So I replaced the line set CATALINA_OPTS= with set CATALINA_OPTS=-Xms512m -Xmx512m But I still get the error.

  • RVM Ruby 1.9.1 troubles

    Trying to get Ruby 1.9.1 up and running with RVM on a fresh install(fedora). So after doing rvm install 1.9.1, the rubygems error logs show that zlib can't be located no such file to load -- zlib (LoadError) However both the zlib runtime and development libraries are installed and up-to-date, So I'm kinda stumped on this one at the moment. Any suggestions?

  • Correct way to (re)launch a Java application with hardware-dependent VM parameters?

    EDIT I don't want to use Java Web Start I've got a Java application that I'd like to run with different VM parameters depending on the amount of memory the system it is launched on has. For example if the machine has 1 GB of memory or less I'd like to pass "-Xmx200m" and "-Xmx400m" if it has 2 GB and "-Xmx800m" if it has 8 GB (these are just examples). Is there a portable way to do this? I've tried having a first tiny Java app (hence portable) that determines the amount of memory available and then launches a new Java app but I don't think this is very clean. As of now I've written Bash shell scripts that invoke the Java app with the correct parameters depending on the config but it only works on Linux on OS X. What is the correct way to solve this? Would application packager package ;) help ?

    Hello, I have a datetime.datetime property var. I would like to know if it is less than one hour of the current time. Something like var.hour<datetime.datetime.today().hour - 1 Problem with the above syntax is that datetime.datetime.today().hour returns a number such as "10" and it is not really a date comparation but more of a numbers comparation.
