I would like to know the following very important points: Do I need an Ubuntu certification to certified my students afterwards that they know Ubuntu. • Custom Themes Introduced in Gmail

  As we all know, Google Team introduced a number of HD themes last November. Now they are giving us an option of customizing our own background. We can put in our own images, select from our Google+ photos or just paste any image URL. Or we can browse the Featured Photos section to find the image that we like. They are introducing custom themes with two options, Light and Dark. In the Featured tab, we can simply search for specific kind of pictures like “hdr scenery” or “bokeh wallpaper” and so on. We can easily maintain our personal or work accounts with different background images that suites the best. The company announced this information in their blog today.

• Getting a TV Capture Card working

  I'm new to Linux, and am trying to get my Capture Card working on 11.04. The only command that I know to run to find out any information is lspci, which tells me that I have 02:00.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant Systems, Inc. CX23885 PCI Video and Audio Decoder (rev 04) I've looked at using Me TV, but haven't worked out how to configure it for my card, or what I need to do to get it running. I'm not fussed on what software I use to run the Capture Card, but I've currently got only Me TV installed. Edit: When I run tvtime, I get the following errors: videoinput: Cannot open capture device /dev/video0: No such file or directory mixer: find error: Success mixer: Can't open mixer default, mixer volume and mute unavailable. mixer: Can't open device default/Line, mixer volume and mute unavailable. • Can I download & Install the wallpapers from Quantal 12.10 on Precise 12.04.1?

  I was googling regarding Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal); pretty much liked the wallpapers. Just out of curiosity, can I install the wallpapers from a higher release (12.10) on a previous release Precise (12.04.1) without upgrading to 12.10.   Hi There is this weird problem going on with putting ssl on the server I keep on getting this error in the terminal after I already created the .key and .crt files but it keeps on saying I placed the files in the conf.d directory and I already configured the thing so there is something that I did wrong there I also used openssl to create a .key and the .crt files thanks for the help if anyone can service apache2 reload Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/apache2/conf.d/www.domainname.crt Invalid command '-----BEGIN', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration Action 'conftest' failed. • Obtaining In game Warcraft III data to program standalone AI

  I am implementing common purpose behavioral algorithm and would like to test it under my lovely Warcraft III game and watch how it will fight against real players. The problem is how to obtain information about in game state (units, structures, environment, etc. ). Algorithm needs access to hard drive and possibly distributed computing, that's why JASS (WC3 Editor language) usage doesn't solve the issue. Direct 3D hooking is an approach, but it wasn't done for WC3 yet and significant drawback is inability to watch online at how AI performs since it uses the viewport to issue commands. How in game data can be obtained to a different process in a fastest and easiest way? Thank you.

• Buying a parked domain if the contact email bounces

  I'm trying to buy a domain which is parked, but the contact email address listed on the page itself bounces. I looked up the WHOIS data and there are no email addresses or phone numbers listed. There are way too many hits on facebook / linkedin to try just searching for the name. What recourses do I have to try to get into contact with the owner? UPDATE: Hosted on the same IP are 206 identical "parked" pages, whose sole difference is the domain and the email address (always "info@[domain].it"): http://www.bing.com/search?q=ip%3A151.1.48.220 Whois info shows contact information for none (that I sampled) but all with different names o_O

• 12.04 Random sounds sometimes after startup

  I'm not quite sure what the sound is, but it has only started happening in the last two days. The only way I can describe it would be that it sounds like a wooden xylophone being tapped lightly. It will play at random intervals ranging between 1 second to a couple minutes for up to a half hour (from what I have noticed) after startup. If anybody has any ideas as to what is causing this or how to fix it I would appreciate it. • Not able to connect huawei ec1561

  I have a huawei ec1561 broadband data card, ISP-MTS India. I am not able to connect internet through it. while connecting it via network manager it says "You are registered with home network" and again "Modem network disconnected" . i think it is detected as a modem but not connecting properly. Any help please? I'm hitting this rock with my head more than a month... when I tried installing the driver that came with the device it finally says "Installing NDIS driver failed". • How important are SEO Friendly URLs [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: Is a URL with a query string better or worse for SEO then one without one? Currently, my URLs look something like http://mydomain.ext/question/5 where question is the Controller and 5 is the ID of the object or article retrieved. In theory I could spend some development time and some server resources to have URLs that would contain more information about the page loaded. However, seeing how websites like Youtube or many others just keep simple URLs with just an ID, I am asking, does it matter? It is worth it??

• Securing data inside Azure SQL? Any good libraries or DIY?

  Azure SQL doesn't support many of the encryption features found in SQL Server (Table and Column encryption). We need to store some sensitive information that needs to be encrypted and we've rolled our own using AesCryptoServiceProvider to encrypt/decrypt data to/from the database. This solves the immediate issue (no cleartext in db) but poses other problems like Key rotation (we have to roll our own code for this, walking through the db converting old cipher text into new cipher text) metadata mapping of which tables and which columns are encrypted. This is simple with it's a few but quickly gets out of hand ... So are there any libraries out there that do this well? Any other resources or design patterns I can be pointed to?

  Coming from the joys and new features the SDK 1.3 version gave us back in November/December, we are now again at the doors of another update, Version 1.4 To get it, go to the Windows Azure website, the click on the Develop Menu option.  Once there, Click on the Get Tools & SDK button. This will start the download to activate the Web Platform Installer, when you review the information on it, you get this. Click Install. And Accept the EULA. Installation starts at this point.   I would like to develop an application for a group of people to use. I have decided to develop using python, but I am thinking of using python 2.X or python 3.X. If I use python 2.X, I need to upgrade it for the future... But it is more mature, and has many tools and libraries. If I develop using 3.X, I don't need to think of future integration, but currenttly it doesn't have many libraries, even a python to executable is not ready for all platforms. Also, one of the considerations is that it is a brand new application, so I don't have the history burden to maintain the old libraries. Any recommendation on this dilemma? • A testing feedback/report tool?

  I'm thinking of developing a pluggable test and assessment module. This tool will be used especially for desktop application projects to report and log errors, bugs, missing features and suggestions from testers. The tool will be plugged to the application by putting a small icon to the application itself. When pressed the tool will be visible where user can create entries about the application. Is there already a tool like that? I am not speaking about UI testing btw. For example, this tool might have a form consisting of Page name Environment information Entry type (can be bug, feature request, suggestion) Message User Info (name, contact etc) Date I think such a tool can greatly help testers prepare reports. Developers can understand the issue better and track all the reports.

One big problem though is that we don't really know of a way to test some of our error handling. For instance, we need to test that whenever there is an uncaught exception, a message is sent to our server with exception information. The big problem with this is that we strive to never have an uncaught exception(and instead have descriptive error messages). So, how do we test something what we never want to actually happen?

Agony and Spite facets on Hipmunk.com Vice facet on Hipmunk for Mobile Seems like a reasonable balance given that all you can do with business travel sometimes is just laugh about it! I first came to hipmunk.com through a paper presented by Oracle Fusion User Experience Advocate (or FXA) Sten Vesterli (@stenvesterli) at an Oracle Usability Advisory Board meeting in Geneva earlier in 2012. Nice! And there are lots of other powerful and edgy UX features in the solution too (Gmail calendar integration, contextual actions dialog box, and so on).
