• eclipse wont include/identify user .h files and .o files

  i'm new to eclipse CDT, and try to use an existing .o file that was supplied with the proper .h file. eclipse just wont include it in the compilation process. i tryed drag&drop to the eclipse project browser, and the files did show there, but no use, still "No such file: No such file or directory". i tryed defining the .o file in the: project properties tool settings MinGW C Linker Miscellaneous other objects. didn't work either. as for the header file, i did try a workaround: created a new file in the project and named it after the file i want to include as header, then copied the content. and yet, the compiler/linker didn't recognize the object file. perhaps you can help?thank you

• .NET Web Service Proxy is adding special characters in XML

  My web service proxy seems to be adding special characters like "*" and "#" etc. within the xml nodes. My proxy created lists using arrays of objects. I am trying to create a generic list and then doing list.ToArray() to set the proxy MyProxyObject[] object. Is this the cause of the problem I am having? I plan on running fiddler on the request later but it is over SSL and I do not have access to the URL at the moment.   Can a user be a member of multiple Organization Units (OU) in Active Directory ? Also, is there a standard format mentioned by Microsoft on how an OU should be created and what its attributes are ? I found this in Wikipedia "However, Organizational Units are just an abstraction for the administrator, and do not function as true containers; the underlying domain operates as if objects were all created in a simple flat-file structure, without any OUs. It is not possible for example to create two user accounts with an identical username in two separate OUs, such as "fred.staff-ou.domain" and "fred.student-ou.domain"."

  Hi all. In an n-tier architecture, the best place to put an object-relational mapping (OR/M) code is in the data access layer. For example, database queries and updates can be delegated to a tool like NHibernate. Yet, I'd like to keep all references to NHibernate within the data access layer and abstract dependencies away from the layers below or above it. That way, I can swap or plug in another OR/M tool (e.g. Entity Framework) or some approach (e.g. plain vanilla stored procedure calls, mock objects) without causing compile-time errors or a major overhaul of the entire application. Testability is an added bonus. Could someone please suggest a wrapper (i.e. an interface or base class) or approach that would keep OR/M loosely coupled and contained in 1 layer? Or point me to resources that would help? Thanks.

  I've got a custom TObjectList descendant in Delphi 2009, and I'd like to play with its enumerator a bit and add some filtering functionality to the MoveNext method, to cause it to skip certain objects. MoveNext is called by DoMoveNext, which is a virtual method, so this shouldn't be difficult to override... except for one thing. The TEnumerator for TObjectList isn't its own class; it's declared as a nested type within the TObjectList declaration. Is there any simple way to override TEnumerator.DoMoveNext in my descendant class, or do I have to reimplement the whole TEnumerator? It's not a very big class, but I'd prefer to keep redundancies to a minimum if I can...

  Hi all, I am writing a spring 2.5 application and in my jsp I'm writing my own tags. It's about a list of objects...when I change the number of rows that list shows(a combobox), I am doing a submit on my form returning back to the view(obviosly with the new number of rows returned). When listing with my own tags I need to get the properties from my command object. I have access to the pageContext object but I can't figure where the command object is stored. • Hibernate object equality checking

  As far as I understand(correct me if I am wrong) Hibernate uses object reference to check the object equality. When Hibernate identifies that there are more than one objects attached to same DB record, it throws following exception. "a different object with the same identifier value was already associated with the session" My question is, does Hibernate use equal() method to check the object equality (The default equal method uses object reference)? If it is true, will overridden equal() method change the Hibernate behavior? Note: My question is not about the issues of implementing equal() or hashCode() methods in a Hibernate persisted object. It seems that the R warning message raises a python error. # enable use of python objects in rpy2 import rpy2.robjects.numpy2ri import numpy as np from rpy2.robjects import r # create an example array a = np.array([[5,2,5],[3,7,8]]) # this line leads to a warning message, which in turn raises an # error message if run within a script. result = r['chisq.test'](a) Running that code example in ipython works, however, running it inside a script raises the errorTypeError: 'module' object is unsubscriptable. I assume this is due to the warning message. What is the best way to avoid this problem? Thanks in advance!

• Coldfusion CFC creation taking a variable amout of time to execute.

  I've been doing some logging of object creation times in our open account process in production. Periodically, initializing an object would take way longer than expected. By initializing I mean calling it's init() and passing a couple of arguments that may be simple variables or objects. e.g. <cfset validateObj = createObject("component", "compExample").init( productionMode = VARIABLES.productionMode, ipWhiteListed = isWhiteListed, ipLocatorObj = VARIABLES.ipLocatorObj ) /> Thats all that happens in init() methods. Generally the execution time would be 0ms, but at random times I might get 3 or 3.5 seconds. This is not specific to one particular server or to our generally busy period. It appears to be quite random. One thought was that these templates were being evicted from our template cache as they are not especially frequently used, although I checked cfstat on a number of servers and the max CP/Sec is -1. Running CF 8,0,1 Has anybody else ever come across this?

  In my project I have it set up so that all the tables in the DB has the property "id" and then I have the entity objects inherit from the EntityBase class using a repository pattern. I then set the inheritance modifier for "id" property in the dbml file o/r designer to "overrides" Public MustInherit Class EntityBase MustOverride Property id() As Integer End Class Public MustInherit Class RepositoryBase(Of T As EntityBase) Protected _Db As New DataClasses1DataContext Public Function GetById(ByVal Id As Integer) As T Return (From a In _Db.GetTable(Of T)() Where a.id = Id).SingleOrDefault End Function End Class Partial Public Class Entity1 Inherits EntityBase End Class Public Class TestRepository Inherits RepositoryBase(Of Entity1) End Class the line Return (From a In _Db.GetTable(Of T)() Where a.id = Id).SingleOrDefault however produces the error "Class member EntityBase.id is unmapped" when i use VS 2010 using the 4.0 framework but I never received that error with the old one.   From the java.text.ChoiceFormat API: setChoices(double[] limits, String[] formats): Set the choices to be used in formatting. Parameters: limits - contains [...] formats - are the formats you want to use for each limit. They can be either Format objects or Strings. When formatting with object Y, if the object is a NumberFormat, then ((NumberFormat) Y).format(X) is called. Otherwise Y.toString() is called. I'm having difficulties understanding the documentation for the formats parameter: how can you possibly pass a Format/NumberFormat object to setChoices if it's declared String[] formats? Note that interestingly, the getters counterpart of setChoices are declared as follows: double[] getLimits() Object[] getFormats() -- not String[]!!! Is this a bug in the API? Should the setter have been declared setChoices(double[], Object[]) instead, or am I not understanding how to use setChoices correctly?

  My UI is not updating when I expect it to. The application displays "projects" using a view similar to iTunes -- a source list on the left lets you filter a list (NSTableView) on the right. My filters update properly when they are examining any simple field (like name, a string), but not for arrays (like tags). I'm removing a tag from one of my objects (from an NSMutableArray field called "tags") and I expect it to disappear from the list because it no longer matches the predicate that is bound to my table's NSArrayController.   Hi, I'm writing a hockey database/manager. So I have the following models: class Team(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=60) class Game(models.Model): home_team = models.ForeignKey(Team,related_name='home_team') away_team = models.ForeignKey(Team,related_name='away_team') class SeasonStats(models.Model): team = models.ForeignKey(Team) Ok, so my problem is the following. There are a lot of teams, but Stats are just managed for my Club. So if I use "list_display" in the admin backend, I'd like to modify/overwrite the queryset which builds the sidebar for filtering, to just display our home teams as a filter option. Is this somehow possible in Django? I already made a custom form like this class SeasonPlayerStatsAdminForm(forms.ModelForm): team = forms.ModelChoiceField(Team.objects.filter(club__home=True)) So now just the filtering is missing. Any ideas?

• "lock request time out period exceeded" Error When Trying to See DB Hierarchies

  I have a DB that I can run basic queries (albeit much slower than normal) off of. When I try to see the hierarchy trees for tables, views, or procedures in SSMS Object Explorer, I get the "lock request time out period exceeded". My Report Server reports that run off of objects in this DB are no longer completing. Jobs associated with procedures stored on this DB also do not run. I tried using sp_who2 to find and kill all connections on the DB. This has not solved the problem. What is going on here? How can I resolve this?

• Is a new thread in a Visual Studio test project aborted when the test ends?

  Hi, i have to do some message exchange with a 3rd party (in a website). When the client posts a page, i start the message exchange. When that doesn't succeed for some reason, i report this to the client by rendering the page with a message. On the background, in a separate thread, i start a process to send abort messages to the 3rd party. I can't do this while the user is waiting for the page to come back, because it might take a few minutes. But in a test project, the test ends when the message to the 3rd party is sent, and after the new thread is started. But it seems that the new thread also ends, when the test is done. Is that normal behaviour? I do start the thread in a new class with a reference to 2 objects from the class which tries to send the message in the first place, may that be a problem?

  hi. im currently creating a tile based game, where elements of the games are placed in four different vectors (since there are multiple game objects with different properties, hence stored in different vectors). these game elements themselves contain x and y coordinates similar to how they are stored in a two dimensional array. i was wondering if there was a way to access these vector elements similar to two dimensional array access (currently i am implementing an for loop to cycle the elements while comparing its coordinates). this kinda sucks when i need to refresh my display at every game cycle (since the large number of comparisons and loops). im implementing this in java btw.

  Lets say I have a WPF application that shows a ListBox with an ArrayList -populated with objects of arbitrary types- as a source, and this application is hosted in an assembly 'A'. By default the ListBox will display the custom object 'ToString' method return value. If a data template for that object type is found, the ListBox will use it for rendering. Imagine that theres another assembly 'B' that references of 'A' and seeks to extend it by providing custom data templates for certain types, to be used in that ListBox. Is there some way to do that without 'A'being aware of B?

Then a bit later on they say: It is important to always be paranoid about security when accepting any user input, and this is also true when binding objects to form input. You should be careful to always HTML encode any user-entered values to avoid HTML and JavaScript injection attacks Huh? MVC is managing the data binding for us. Where/how are you supposed to do the HTML encoding?

  I need to document a MS-Access application that was created, developed and maintained completely by a power-user over 10 years. This is an interesting situation because what they want is a manual so that a future developer can come in without prior domain knowledge and make changes to the frontend or the backend in a timely manner. There are a few questions on my mind for this little project: What is a good manual design creating application? Microsoft Word doesn't quite cut it. What kind of things would you, the developer, need to know in order to make changes to things like forms, reports, tables or other Access objects? Anything else I missed? Any pitfalls?

• C# dependency injection - how to you inject a dependency without source?

  Hi, I am trying to get started with some simple dependency injection using C# and i've run up against an issue that I can't seem to come up with an answer for. I have a class that was written by another department for which I don't have the source in my project. I wanted to inject an object of this type though a constructor using an interface, but of course, i can't change the injected objects implementation to implement the interface to achieve polymorphism when casting the object to the interface type. Every academic example I have ever seen of this technique has the classes uses classes which are declared in the project itself. How would I go about injecting my dependency without the source being available in the project? I hope that makes sense, thanks.

  I've got a class that wraps around an NSMutableSet object, and I have an instance method that adds objects (using the addObject: method) to the NSMutableSet. This works well, but I'm smelling a performance hitch because inside the method i'm explicitly calling containsObject: before adding the object to the set. Three part question: Do I need to be calling containsObject: before I add an object to the set? If so, then what actual method should I be using, containsObject or containsObjectIdenticalTo:? If that is not so, what contains method gets invoked under the hood of addObject:? This is important to me because if I pass an object to containsObject: it would return true, but if I pass it to containsObjectIdenticalTo: it would return false.

• Injecting relationships in DBIx::Class

  I have a handful of DBIx::Class::Core objects that model various database tables. For some of those models (those that have a 'queue' column), I have another class inject subs (basically, to 'move' the model object along it's queue states). I'd like to also have that class inject has_many relationships ala class($name)->has_many('queue_history','MySchema::Result::QueueHistory', { 'foreign.record_id'=>'self.id' }, { where => { type => $name }} ); but I can't seem to get the relationships to register properly (keep getting "No Such Relationship" errors - however, when calling the relationship method on the sources provides back the relationship). Any clues as to what's wrong?

  I have a District class that looks like this: public class District { public int Id { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public District Parent { get; set; } public IEnumerable<District> Ancestors { get { /* what goes here? */ } } } I would like to be able to get a list of each District's ancestors. So if District "1.1.1" is a child of District "1.1", which is a child of District "1", getting Ancestors on District "1.1.1" would return a list that contains the District objects whose names are "1.1" and "1". Does this involve the yield return statement (I never totally understood that)? Can it be done in one line?

• Error Instantiating an Inner Class in Parent's Constructor...

  In my application's main class (subclass of Application), I have a public inner class that simply contains 3 public string objects. In the parent class I declare an object of that inner class. public class MainApplication extends Application { public class Data { public String x; public String y; public String z; } private Data data; MainApplication() { data = new Data() data.x = "String"; } } After I instantiate the object in the constructor, I get a runtime error when I try to assign any of the inner class object's variables. Any idea what's up here??
