• objc[989] objc_exception_throw failed.

  I was just adding some more CCSprites to a CCLayer and it just starts crashing giving me the error: objc[989] objc_exception_throw failed. Is there like a limit to the amount of CCSprites you can have on a screen or something? I added the CCSprites doing the following with the CCSprites already declared at interface: L1Circle1 = [CCSprite spriteWithFile:@"LaserCircle.png"]; [L1Circle1 setPosition:ccp(180,180)]; [self addChild:L1Circle1]; What am I doing wrong?

  Hi everyone, I would like to create an effect to a cell of a UITableView. The effect is: duplicate the cell and move the duplicated cell (the original stays at its place). My problem is to duplicate the cell... • Subclass not seeing superclass' instance variable

  I have a situation where my subclass is not seeing the superclass' instance variable x. The ivar is obviously @protected by default, so why do I get a compiler error "x undeclared"? If I make this ivar a property then I can access it by self.x. What's worse is sometimes the error disappears, so something in my code is obviously causing this error but I cannot figure it out.

  I need to count words in a string using PHP or Javascript (preferably PHP). The problem is that the counting needs to be the same as it works in Microsoft Word, because that is where the people assemble their original texts in so that is their reference frame. PHP has a word counting function (http://php.net/manual/en/function.str-word-count.php) but that is not 100% the same as far as I know. Any pointers?

• Compile/use unrar C++ source for iphone app?

  Writing an app that will include the ability to decompress zip and rar files. I think I'm OK on how to handle the .zips but .rars seem a little more trouble. I noticed that rarlabs has source available but it's C++. Is there a way to compile, wrap or otherwise use this code within an iPhone app?   I recently built a site using Asp.Net. The way I chose to implement user login is through a base 'UserAwareController' class, that all controllers extend. It contained a reference to the UserRepository, and exposed a protected GetCurrentUser() method that concrete controllers could query. The whole process felt a bit wishy-washy to me. Is Action Filters a good alternative? What are its benefits? Is there something else I might be missing?

• UIDisplayLink stops updating when UIScrollView scrolled

  Title is quite self explanatory, but I have some animation being done in a loop triggered by UIDisplayLink. However, as soon as I scroll a UIScrollView I have added to my view hierarchy, the animation stops immediately, only to return again when scrolling has completely stopped and come to a standstill.... Anyway to cancel this behaviour?
