  • Web-serving a file : Firefix truncates name

    I'm serving a file from Lighttpd whose name contains space-characters. I'm using mimetype "application/octet-stream" When I download this in Chrome, it works perfectly. But when I download in Firefox, the filename is truncated at the first space. Is this to do with the mimetype? With some other lightty config? Or maybe something to do with the kind of space-character I'm using?

  • Hiding user interface parts in WSS 3.0 webpart - how?

    Hi, I have a webpart with asp.net control within. I would like to hide some parts of that control, some asp:net panels etc. regarding one of the TextBox's value. The issue is that I don't know to change the visibility of asp:panel wrapper without any postback, and how to refresh page to see the changes on the UI. I was trying to implement TextChanged event but it dosen't work. Can anybody help me, please?

    I'm trying to retrieve data from a php file named return that contains <?php echo 'here is a string'; ?>. I'm doing this through an html file containing ` div { color:blue; } span { color:red; } var x; $.get("return.php", function(data){ x = data; }) function showAlert() {alert(x);} $(document).ready(function(){ alert(x); }); ` When the button is clicked it retrieves and displays the code fine, but on the page loading, it displays "undefined" instead of the data in return.php. Any solutions?

  • Real time embeddable http server library required

    Having looked at several available http server libraries I have not yet found what I am looking for and am sure I can't be the first to have this set of requirements. I need a library which presents an API which is 'pipelined'. Pipelining is used to describe an HTTP feature where multiple HTTP requests can be sent across a TCP link at a time without waiting for a response. I want a similar feature on the library API where my application can receive all of those request without having to send a response (I will respond but want the ability to process multiple requests at a time to reduce the impact of internal latency). So the web server library will need to support the following flow 1) HTTP Client transmits http request 1 2) HTTP Client transmits http request 2 ... 3) Web Server Library receives request 1 and passes it to My Web Server App 4) My Web Server App receives request 1 and dispatches it to My System 5) Web Server receives request 2 and passes it to My Web Server App 6) My Web Server App receives request 2 and dispatches it to My System 7) My Web Server App receives response to request 1 from My System and passes it to Web Server 8) Web Server transmits HTTP response 1 to HTTP Client 9) My Web Server App receives response to request 2 from My System and passes it to Web Server 10) Web Server transmits HTTP response 2 to HTTP Client Hopefully this illustrates my requirement. There are two key points to recognise. Responses to the Web Server Library are asynchronous and there may be several HTTP requests passed to My Web Server App with responses outstanding. Additional requirements are Embeddable into an existing 'C' application Small footprint; I don't need all the functionality available in Apache etc. Efficient; will need to support thousands of requests a second Allows asynchronous responses to requests; their is a small latency to responses and given the required request throughput a synchronous architecture is not going to work for me. Support persistent TCP connections Support use with Server-Push Comet connections Open Source / GPL support for HTTPS Portable across linux, windows; preferably more.   • Managing important runtime business logic with regard to a codebase

    I'm working on a project which will end up have a lot of application information stored in the form of records in a database. In this case, it's the configuration of data views: which grid columns to show/hide default filters to apply to each grid view column titles sorting subtotaling ... This information is a big part of the value of the application and is essential to it's function. The data will be altered by admins a fair amount, so it's not static and it wouldn't be appropriate to have to deploy a new version of the app every time the data changes. The question is, Where should this data be stored? It will definitely live in the database because that's how it's accessed, but I feel like it needs to also be kept with the version controlled codebase because it's an integral part of functioning of the application. Has anyone dealt with an issue like this before? What did you end up doing?

    Hi there, I know this is a weird question to ask, but I would like to know if there is any documentation/blog-article out there that explains the architecture of a Website content management system? More particularly, I am interested to learn more about how "widgets" are implemented. I can't remember which system it was that I've seen tis one, but in the "Page Layout view" it had the ability to allow the end user to select a widget (thumbnail gallery, contact form, etc) from a list, and drag and drop it onto custom areas of the page. I know that this is not directly a programming question, but please could I seek advice/feedback on this. Thanks!

  • Loading...Please wait for UIWebView - iPhone

    Hi guys, In Safari and other browsers, there is a bar that would indicate the percentage of the loading progress, and I, myself, trying to implement something similiar on iPhone, when loading some content in UIWebView, I would like the app to indicate the percentage of the page being loaded. I tried some google search and realize we could use NSURLConnection to read only the header and get the Content-Length ( but don't know how to, I read the Apple's NSURLConnection docs but probably I missed something ... ). And the size ( kb ) which UIWebView had loaded, seem like UIWebView don't support it for the public API... I hope this would be complete in some other ways than I thought, so if you have any ideas, please throw it out, thanks for your patient reading. P.S : I could just show an Activities Indicator for users with the long loading progress actions of the UIWebView but I just want to go further with the loading percentage bar :). Regards.

I use my jar and a few more as libraries and all of them are signed this way, still, when I open the browser I get the warning that there is signed and unsigned code.     I recently encountered a printing issue in Firefox that eventually turned out to be a problem with the fieldset tag we wrapped the entire page in. (Bugzilla: Bug 471015) All browsers have their own rendering quirks and issues, but it can be very hard to know what's causing different behaviors. Sure, you can Google, but that's often taking a shot in the dark about what you think is causing the problem. It also doesn't stop you from having to sort through multiple complains about the same behavior before you find someone who has the issue your looking for. Are there any websites out there that let you search for rendering behavior issues by browser version, browser function, css tag, or html tag? I've seen this SO Question, Wanted: Resource for documented Cross-Browser differences, but I'd like to find something more detailed that includes browser bugs.

  • Using RDL files in Web ReportViewer

    I want to use a rdl file with the query information stored in it. I don't want to have to convert it to a rdlc file. I have an ASP.NET app that I want to show the report. I thought I would use a ReportViewer on my page and then have it use the rdl file. However, I get an error and in researching it appears that I have to convert the file to an rdlc file. I don't want to strip out the data contained in the report. How can I show the report to the user by running the rdl report?

    Here is a for loop written by Javascript. It is trying to apply queries for websql. for (var i = 0; i < 10; i++){ db.transaction(function (tx){ tx.executeSql('INSERT INTO ProjSetsT (ProjID) VALUES (?);', [i]); }); } The attempt is obvious, I tried to add values "0, 1, 2, ... 9" into column ProjID in table ProjSetsT. It does not work. I only got the last element, i.e. "9" inserted, but not the first eight numbers. Is there any syntax mistakes?

  • Separation of static and dynamic content in Java EE applications

    We work with IBM products and we typically use IBM Http Servers (read Apache) as a reverse proxy for our application servers. For performance reasons we serve static content (.gif, .jpg, .css, .html etc.) from our http servers, to ease the burden a bit from the application server. So far, we have to distribute files to http server and configure it manually (writing custom scripts at best.) The problem is the effort needed to keep everything in synch, especially when you need to update the app. Does any Java EE product support this “out of the box”? Is there a way to have application server do this automatically, like in cluster configuration for example, where master node is in charge of distributing the application to other nodes and for keeping everything in synch.
