  • Fluid images - portrait/landscape

    - by Richard
    I have a simple slideshow (list items) but a combination of portrait and landscape images. I'm working on a fluid grid so everything is, essentially, 100% of itself. I'm wondering if there's a way for all the images to remain the same height, but the widths stay true to their proportions. All the images have the same height - 2000px - when uploaded. See the site here: http://goo.gl/BdFUj See here for the desired output: http://d.pr/i/HJUH Thanks, R

  • Combine Related Resources With TastyPie

    - by Aaron Ng
    How can I combine multiple Resources in TastyPie? I have 3 models I'd like to combine: users, profiles and posts. Ideally I'd like profiles nested within user. I'm not sure where to go from here. class UserResource(ModelResource): class Meta: queryset = User.objects.all() resource_name = 'user' fields = ['username','id','date_joined'] #Improper Auth authorization = Authorization() class UserProfileResource(ModelResource): class Meta: queryset = UserProfile.objects.all() resource_name = 'profile' class UserPostResource(ModelResource): user = fields.ForeignKey(UserResource,'user', full=True) class Meta: queryset = UserPost.objects.all() resource_name = 'userpost' #Improper Auth authorization = Authorization()

  • Why does document.evaluate succeed in Firebug but fail in Selenium?

    - by anil
    browser.getEval function in selenium makes iterateNext return null ..Otherwise in firebug it returns a value(same script) document.evaluate("//button[text()='Save']", document, null, XPathResult.ANY_TYPE, null) .iterateNext() .disabled; returns true But browser.getEval("document.evaluate(\"//button[text()='Save']\", document, null, XPathResult.ANY_TYPE, null) .iterateNext() .disabled;"); returns that error as : "com.thoughtworks.selenium.SeleniumException: ERROR: Threw an exception: res.iterateNext() is null "

  • Javascript problem with a global external link confirmation alert

    - by OverDrive
    Below is the code from a plugin for Joomla. It works on it's own and it's purpose is to detect external links on the page and force them into new browser windows using _blank. I've tried for about an hour (I don't know javascript well) but I can't seem to figure out how to get an onclick function working. End result, I want to add to this script the ability of a confirmation dialog, shown in the 2nd code section. An external link, when clicked, will pop up the confirmation dialog, and if it says yes, they will be able to get to the external URL, opening in a new window. Otherwise, it cancels, and does nothing. When I create a link with onclick="return ExitNotice(this.href);" within it it works perfectly, but since my website has multiple people submitting input, I'd like the confirmation box global. this.blankwin = function(){ var hostname = window.location.hostname; hostname = hostname.replace("www.","").toLowerCase(); var a = document.getElementsByTagName("a"); this.check = function(obj){ var href = obj.href.toLowerCase(); return (href.indexOf("http://")!=-1 && href.indexOf(hostname)==-1) ? true : false; }; this.set = function(obj){ obj.target = "_blank"; obj.className = "blank"; }; for (var i=0;i<a.length;i++){ if(check(a[i])) set(a[i]); }; }; this.addEvent = function(obj,type,fn){ if(obj.attachEvent){ obj['e'+type+fn] = fn; obj[type+fn] = function(){obj['e'+type+fn](window.event );} obj.attachEvent('on'+type, obj[type+fn]); } else { obj.addEventListener(type,fn,false); }; }; addEvent(window,"load",blankwin); Second Part /* ---------- OnClick External Link Notice ---------- */ function ExitNotice(link,site,ltext) { if(confirm("-----------------------------------------------------------------------\n\n" + "You're leaving the HelpingTeens.org website. HelpingTeens.org\ndoes not " + "control this site and its privacy policies may differ\nfrom our own. " + "Thank you for using our site.\n\nYou will now access the following link:\n" + "\n" + link + "\n\nPress \'OK\' to proceed, or press \'Cancel\' to remain here." + "\n\n-----------------------------------------------------------------------")) { return true; } history.go(0); return false; } A) Can anyone help me fix this problem? or B) Is there a better solution?

  • Run-Time Check Failure #2 - Stack around the variable 'indices' was corrupted.

    - by numerical25
    well I think I know what the problem is. I am just having a hard time debugging it. I am working with the directx api and I am trying to generate a plane along the x and z axis according to a book I have. The problem is when I am creating my indices. I think I am setting values out of the bounds of the indices array. I am just having a hard time figuring out what I did wrong. I am unfamiliar with the this method of generating a plane. so its a little difficult for me. below is my code. • Validating using stripes causes bound values to delete

    - by Davoink
    I'm using Stripes and I am validating the values of a drop down box to ensure the user selects an option. On initial load all data is present, but once the validation kicks in the form loses the data that was set up in the action bean on load. This includes the original list I am validating against. I'm simply using in the jsp, and annotating the field in the action bean as @Validate(required=true). Am I missing something simple? Cheers

  • How do i convert from milliseconds to seconds units to be shown in a Label?

    - by Doron Muzar
    I have this code: private void Form1_MouseWheel(object sender, MouseEventArgs e) { if (leave == true) { if (e.Delta > 0) { if (timer1.Interval < 5000) { timer1.Interval += 1000; label2.Text = (timer1.Interval/1000).ToString(); } } else { if (timer1.Interval == 1000) { timer1.Interval -= 100; label2.Text = (timer1.Interval / 1000).ToString(); } } } } The original timer1 interval in the designer is set to 1000 milliseconds. In the mouse wheel event i did that it will show in the label2 the untis in seconds. And indeed when i move the mouse wheel up its slowing the timer and show it in seconds 1 2 3 4 5 The problem is with the second part i wanted that when its getting to 1 second or 1000 milliseconds if i will keep wheel it down it will show the units in 100 and change the timer1.interval in 100 units. So in label2 if it was on 1 second so now i will see 900 800 700 600 500 un till 100. And also the timer1 interval should be change to 900 milliseconds 800 700 600 untill 100. When its get to 100 just stop there dont keep getting under 100. The problem is with this part: if (timer1.Interval == 1000) { timer1.Interval -= 100; label2.Text = (timer1.Interval / 1000).ToString(); } Its not working at all. EDIT** My code now: if (leave == true) { if (e.Delta > 0) { if (timer1.Interval < 5000) { timer1.Interval += 1000; label2.Text = (timer1.Interval / 1000).ToString(); } } else { if (timer1.Interval > 1000) { timer1.Interval -= 1000; label2.Text = (timer1.Interval / 1000).ToString(); } else if (timer1.Interval <= 1000 && timer1.Interval > 100) { timer1.Interval -= 100; label2.Text = (timer1.Interval / (double)1000).ToString(); } } } But now if i was at 5 seconds(5000 milliseconds) now i move the wheel back down its counting 5 4 3 2 1 0 and stop on 0 It dosent show under 1 ...0.9 0.8 0.7 as it did before.

  • Approaching Java from a Ruby perspective

    - by Travis
    There are plenty of resources available to a Java developer for getting a jump-start into Ruby/Rails development. The reverse doesn't appear to be true. What resources would you suggest for getting up-to-date on the current state of java technologies? How about learning how to approach DRY (don't repeat yourself) without the use of metaprogramming? Or how to approach various scenarios where a ruby developer is used to passing in a function (proc/lambda/block) as an argument (callbacks, etc)?

  • How do I create a loop based off this array?

    - by dmanexe
    I'm trying to process this array, first testing for the presence of a check, then extrapolating the data from quantity to return a valid price. Here's the input for fixed amounts of items, with no variable quantity. <input type="checkbox" name="measure[<?=$item->id?>][checked]" value="<?=$item->id?>"> <input type="hidden" name="measure[<?=$item->id?>][quantity]" value="1" /> Here's the inputs for variable amounts of items. <input type="checkbox" name="measure[<?=$item->id?>][checked]" value="<?=$item->id?>"> <input class="item_mult" value="0" type="text" name="measure[<?=$item->id?>][quantity]" /> So, the resulting array is multidimensional. Here's an output: Array ( [1] => Array ( [quantity] => 1 ) [2] => Array ( [quantity] => 1 ) [3] => Array ( [quantity] => 1 ) ... [14] => Array ( [checked] => 14 [quantity] => 999 ) ) Here's the loop I'm using to take this array and process items checked off the form in the first place. I guess the question essentially boils down to how do I structure my conditional statement to incorporate the multi-dimensional array? foreach($field as $value): if ($value['checked'] == TRUE) { $query = $this->db->get_where('items', array('id' => $value['checked']))->row(); #Test to see if quantity input is present if ($value['quantity'] == TRUE) { $newprice = $value['quantity'] * $query->price; $totals[] = $newprice; } #Just return the base value if not else { $newprice = $query->price; $totals[] = $newprice; } } else { } ?> <p><?=$query->name?> - <?=money_format('%(#10n', $newprice)?></p> <? endforeach; ?>

  • Distinguishing between failure and end of file in read loop

    - by celtschk
    The idiomatic loop to read from an istream is while (thestream >> value) { // do something with value } Now this loop has one problem: It will not distinguish if the loop terminated due to end of file, or due to an error. For example, take the following test program: #include <iostream> #include <sstream> void readbools(std::istream& is) { bool b; while (is >> b) { std::cout << (b ? "T" : "F"); } std::cout << " - " << is.good() << is.eof() << is.fail() << is.bad() << "\n"; } void testread(std::string s) { std::istringstream is(s); is >> std::boolalpha; readbools(is); } int main() { testread("true false"); testread("true false tr"); } The first call to testread contains two valid bools, and therefore is not an error. The second call ends with a third, incomplete bool, and therefore is an error. Nevertheless, the behaviour of both is the same. In the first case, reading the boolean value fails because there is none, while in the second case it fails because it is incomplete, and in both cases EOF is hit. Indeed, the program above outputs twice the same line: TF - 0110 TF - 0110 To solve this problem, I thought of the following solution: while (thestream >> std::ws && !thestream.eof() && thestream >> value) { // do something with value } The idea is to detect regular EOF before actually trying to extract the value. Because there might be whitespace at the end of the file (which would not be an error, but cause read of the last item to not hit EOF), I first discard any whitespace (which cannot fail) and then test for EOF. Only if I'm not at the end of file, I try to read the value. For my example program, it indeed seems to work, and I get TF - 0100 TF - 0110 So in the first case (correct input), fail() returns false. Now my question: Is this solution guaranteed to work, or was I just (un-)lucky that it happened to give the desired result? Also: Is there a simpler (or, if my solution is wrong, a correct) way to get the desired result?

  • Why is the Objective-C Boolean data type defined as a signed char?

    - by EddieCatflap
    Something that has piqued my interest is Objective-C's BOOL type definition. Why is it defined as a signed char (which could cause unexpected behaviour if a value greater than 1 byte in length is assigned to it) rather than as an int, as C does (much less margin for error: a zero value is false, a non-zero value is true)? The only reason I can think of is the Objective-C designers micro-optimising storage because the char will use less memory than the int. Please can someone enlighten me?

    Hi all, I have a fairly simple question: In Javascript how can I return the boolean (if its found in the JSON) rather than the actual value? Example: var myJSON = { "foo" : "bar", "bar" : "foo" }; var keyToLookFor = "foo"; var found = myJSON[keyToLookFor]; if (found) { // I know I can test if the string exists in the if } // but is there a way I could just return something like: return found; // instead of testing found in the if statement and then returning true?

  • Prototype set selected option based on other select

    - by xain
    Hi, how can I "copy" the selected option between two s that have the same options using prototype ? I tried getting the selected option from the "master" combo using function getSelectedArea() { $$('#areacont1 option').find(function(ele){return !!ele.selected}) } which returns null And setting the second combo using var c2ROptions = $$('select#areacont2 option') c2ROptions[getSelectedArea()].selected = true That obviously doesn't work because the function returns null. Any hints? Thanks.
