  • $this->headLink() includes duplicated script

    Hi, Just like I did before, I used the following code for my new project. <?=$this->headLink()->appendStylesheet('/Layouts/admin/css/button.css');?> <?=$this->headLink()->appendStylesheet('/Layouts/admin/css/inputText.css');?> <?=$this->headLink()->appendStylesheet('/Layouts/admin/css/fancyTable.class.css');?> when I open the website and view source, there are duplicated css link tags. <link href="/Layouts/admin/css/button.css" media="screen" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" ><link href="/Layouts/admin/css/button.css" media="screen" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" > <link href="/Layouts/admin/css/inputText.css" media="screen" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" ><link href="/Layouts/admin/css/button.css" media="screen" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" > <link href="/Layouts/admin/css/inputText.css" media="screen" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" > <link href="/Layouts/admin/css/fancyTable.class.css" media="screen" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" > <link href="/Layouts/admin/css/button.css" media="screen" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" > <link href="/Layouts/admin/css/inputText.css" media="screen" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" > <link href="/Layouts/admin/css/fancyTable.class.css" media="screen" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" > <link href="/Layouts/admin/css/divine.css" media="screen" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" > What is going on with my code??

  • Eclipse CSS plugin support css imports

    - by Alex Ivasyuv
Hi, Is there any CSS plugin for Eclipse, which supports import CSS files to profile, e.g. like Spket IDE makes it for JavaScript files. In result, I want to get the following functionality: In any html/css file, where defined css class/id, I perform clicking on it, and it dispatches me to appropriate css file which responsables for that style, or shows me in left side panel it styles. Does anyone know such plugin for CSS Eclipse? Thanks,

  • Conditional CSS file doesn't override regular CSS

    - by dmr
I am using conditional comments to link to a css file (let's call it "IEonly.css") if the IE version is less than 8. I am trying to override some properties in the regular css file. Strangely enough, IEonly.css will set new css properties correctly, but it won't override the properties in the regular CSS file! (I am trying to make this work for IE7). Help!

  • Floats in CSS - Gap/space left on top when floated to the right?

    - by bobthabuilda
This is a little difficult to describe, but basically there is undesired space left by a floated div on my page. Here are pictures describing the problem. The black boxes are divs. Before floating: After floating: Desired effect: And I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I also have an empty div with "clear: both" placed immediately after the floated div. How can I achieve this?

  • smart page resizing

    - by Anton
Suppose I have an HTML page with three blocks of fixed width (their height can vary if that's important), like shown on picture: I would like to make it behave as shown on next picture: when browser screen width is reduced so it can't fit all three blocks in one line, first block goes down. Is it possible to achieve such behavior? Preferably with CSS only but any working solution would be great.

  • PHP calling and displaying CSS in different browser.

    - by user147685
I'm having problem with CSS where, when I run on Mozilla Firefox the CSS is doing fine. But when I run inside Internet Explorer, the CSS is not working. When I try to change the code in the CSS file, it works otherwise. Mozilla is OK, but Internet Explorer is not. I have an idea calling 2 different CSS. For example, style_IE.css and style_moz.css. Both CSS files will be called from header.html. How can I fix this problem? Is there some code that can distinguish between browsers? Whenever the user is running in Internet Explorer, then style_IE is called if not it otherwise.

  • for big website's CSS what we should use IE conditional sheets or CSS hacks, in multiple people envi

    - by metal-gear-solid
for big website's CSS what we should use IE condition sheets ( IE6, IE7, IE8 if needed) or CSS hacks in multiple people environment? and CSS will be handled by multiple people. I'm thinking to use hacks with proper comments because there are chanceh to forgot for other to make any changes in both css. For example : #ab { width:200px} in main css and #ab { width:210px} in IE css. Need your view on this. Thanks in advance.

  • CSS Caching and User-CUstomized CSS - Any Suggestions?

    - by Joe
I'm just trying to figure out the best approach here... my consideration is that I'd like my users to be able to customize the colors of certain elements on the page. These are not pre-made css they can choose from, but rather styles that can be edited using javascript to change the style, so they cannot be "pre-made" into separate style sheets. I am also generating the css into a cache directory since I am generating the css through a PHP script. I am thinking that, perhaps I should: 1) If cached css file doesn't exist, create css file using the website default style settings. 2) If cached css file does exist, check if user has custom settings, if so, edit the cache file before displaying it. Btw, when I refer to "cached file" I mean the PHP generated css document. My goal is to prevent the need to have PHP re-generate the css file each time, whilst still allowing users, when logged in, to have their customized css settings applied. I will store these settings in a database most likely so when they return it is saved for them when they login.

  • letting absoltuely positioned area grow

    - by JCHASE11
Please see this page for reference: test page I am designing a site that has a sidebar that contains an accordion style vertical nav bar. The sidebar which contains this accordion is absolutely positioned, relative to the container that holds it. I did this so the sidebar would stay sticky to the top, bottom, and side. When you click the products button, the accordion expands well past the container, overflowing into the footer. If I floated the sidebar to the left, it would grow to accommodate the entire sidebar, but it wouldn't be sticky to the bottom of the container by default. I need a solution that allows the sidebar to be absolutely positioned, and allow growth if the accordion expands. Any Ideas? Jquery solution perhaps?

  • CSS to specify positions over a scanned document

    - by itsols
I'm trying to write the CSS rules to position text over a scanned document. Reason: The document is a pre-printed form. I am trying to position the text on-screen so that it relates to the 'spaces' on the actual form. Issue: Although I position the values using centimeters, they don't seem to get aligned with the ones on the actual page. I can see this misalignment since my scanned image is in the background of the page. What I've tried: I used a ruler to physically measure the locations and specify them with CSS. But on-screen, it doesn't tally. I used the scanned image to position the CSS values. Then the printout is not correct. I even scaled the scanned page using Inkscape to the exact dimensions in centimeters and took into account all margins, etc... What I need: I am trying to correctly show the output values on-screen AND have them print in the correct manner as well. I know that using two CSS sheets (one for print) is an option. But I'm developing this program away from where the actual printing is to be done. So is there a convenient way of matching the exact screen locations with those on the actual/final prinout? Thanks!

  • Reset.css and then a Set.css

    - by Sixfoot Studio
I have, for a while now been using a reset.css file to reset everything before I start laying out my html designs. The reset is great in that it allows one to better control attributes such as margins, padding, line-height etc for all browsers. In essence the flatliner of css files. Now to get the heart beating again, I need a "set.css" file. So what I have done is created an Html file with all the possible elements on the page to then go and set the padding, margins etc of the h1, h2, p, td etc. I need some help with this as I am not sure what the defaults normally are. I had a look at the Firefox default css file that's used to generate all these attributes on a raw html file but it doesn't cover all the scenarios I could come up with when developing a site. Here's an example of the set.html file (a work in progress) which can be used as a lorem ipsum filler to add to your first page in a cms and then to style with a "set.css" file http://www.sixfoot.co.za/labs/Html-Css/set.html I'd appreciate it if someone knows if something like a set.css file exists or if someone could tell me what the general padding and margins are in cases like this when you have reset the css. Cheers, James

  • How to reset parent child relationship between nested div

    - by Shantanu Gupta
    I am new to CSS designing and not aware of most of the properties of CSS. I am creating a layout for a web page. I am using div in my layout. My structure is somewhat like this <div id="content1_bg"> <div> <div class="content1_title_img_div"></div> <div class="content1_title_txt_div"></div> <div class="content1_dvider_div"></div> <div class="content1_content_div"></div> </div> <div></div> <div></div> </div> For this my CSS is #content1_bg div{width:250px;height:220px;float:left;border:3px solid blue; margin:20px;} .content1_title_img_div{width:50px;height:100px;} .content1_title_txt_div{width:150px;height:100px;} .content1_dvider_div{width:100%;height:10%;clear:both;} .content1_content_div{width:100%;height:50%;clear:both;} For this layout i was expecting my design to be like ---------------- |BOX1 BOX2 | ---------------- | BOX 3 | ---------------- | BOX 4 | ---------------- But on using my css layout is somewhat like this -------------------- | | | | | |BOX1| | BOX2| | | | | | | -------------------- | | |BOX3| | | -------------------- | | |BOX4| | | Basically i want my inner div's not to inherit the properties of outer div. • Enable real fixed positioning on Samsung Android browsers

    - by Mr. Shiny and New ??
The Android browser, since 2.2, supports fixed positioning, at least under certain circumstances such as when scaling is turned off. I have a simple HTML file with no JS, but the fixed positioning on three Samsung phones I've tried is simply wrong. Instead of true fixed positioning, the header scrolls out of view then pops back into place after the scrolling is done. This doesn't happen on the Android SDK emulator for any configuration I've tested (2.2, 2.3, 2.3 x86, 4.0.4). It also doesn't happen when using the WebView in an app on the Samsung phones: in those cases the positioning works as expected. Is there a way to make the Samsung Android "stock" browser use real fixed positioning? I've tested: 1. Samsung Galaxy 551, Android 2.2 2. Samsung Galaxy S, Android 2.3 3. Samsung Galaxy S II, Android 2.3 Sample code: <html> <head> <meta name="viewport" content="initial-scale=1.0,maximum-scale=1.0,user-scalable=no,width=device-width,height=device-height"> <style> h1 { position: fixed; top: 0; left: 0; height: 32px; background-color: #CDCDCD; color: black; font-size: 32px; line-height: 32px; padding: 2px; width: 100%; margin: 0;} p { margin-top: 36px; } </style> </head> <body> <h1>Header</h1> <p>Long text goes here</p> </body> </html> The expected behaviour is that the grey header fills the top of the screen and stays put no matter how much you scroll. On Samsung Android browsers it seems to scroll out of view then pop back into place once the scrolling is done, as if the fixed-positioning is being simulated using Javascript, which it isn't. Edit Judging by the comments and "answers" it seems that maybe I wasn't clear on what I need. I am looking for a meta tag or css rule/hack or javascript toggle which turns off Samsung's broken fixed-positioning and turns on the Android browser's working fixed-positioning. I am not looking for a Javascript solution that adds broken fixed-positioning to a browser that has no support whatsoever; the Samsung fixed-positioning does that already, it just looks stupid.

  • Right-Align and Vertical Align label with checkbox/radio button CSS

    - by Jon
Hi Everyone, I'm very close and have this working in Safari, Firefox and IE8, however IE7 the labels and radio buttons do not align vertically. My HTML is: <div id="master-container"> <fieldset id="test"> <legend>This is a test of my CSS</legend> <ul class="inputlist"> <li> <label for="test1">Test 1</label> <input name="test1" id="test1" type="checkbox" disabled="disabled"/> </li> <li> <label for="test2">Test 2</label> <input name="test2" id="test2" type="checkbox" disabled="disabled"/> </li> </ul> </fieldset> </div> My CSS Is: html{font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;} #master-container{width:615px;font-size:12px;} ul.inputlist{list-style-type:none;} ul.inputlist li{width:100%;margin-bottom:5px;} ul.inputlist li label{width:30px; text-align:right; margin-right:7px;float:left;} Any suggestions? Thanks! EDIT: Based on the suggestion to check the rest of my html and css. I updated the code above and now it accurately demonstrates the problem. If I take font-size out of #master-container it lines up but then it is not the proper font-size. I tried to add a font-size to ul.inputlist li input but that didn't help. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help everyone!

  • CSS and jQuery slider height/positioning question

    - by wilwaldon
TEST SITE If you look at the example above the slider on the right has 2 images. The first one is smaller than the second. The second is around 500px high. What I'm looking to do is expand the slider vertically depending on the height of the images inside. I believe the js is setting the height of the image when it is called from the server and I can't find a way to override it with the CSS. Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you!

I am experimenting with a couple of CSS settings and got acceptable results but I am not sure if my CSS will work across browsers. I am wondering if some one can tell me a bullet proof and tested CSS solution to achieve something like this:

  • Javascript or CSS hover not working in Safari and Chrome

    - by PAZtech
I have a problem with a script for a image gallery. The problem seems to only occur on Safari and Chrome, but if I refresh the page I get it to work correctly - weird! Correct function: The gallery has a top bar, which if you hover over it, it will display a caption. Below sits the main image. At the bottom there is another bar that is a reversal of the top bar. When you hover over it, it will display thumbnails of the gallery. The problem: In Safari and Chrome, the thumbnail holder will not display. In fact, it doesn't even show it as an active item (or a rollover). But oddly enough, if you manually refresh the page it begins to work correctly for the rest of the time you view the page. Once you have left the page and return the same error occurs again and you have to go through the same process. Here's one of the pages to look at: link text Here's the CSS: #ThumbsGutter { background: url(../Images/1x1.gif); background: url(/Images/1x1.gif); height: 105px; left: 0px; position: absolute; top: 0px; width: 754px; z-index: 2; } #ThumbsHolder { display: none; } #ThumbsTable { left: 1px; } #Thumbs { background-color: #000; width: 703px; } #Thumbs ul { list-style: none; margin: 0; padding: 0; } #Thumbs ul li { display: inline; • Help me choose a CSS framework: 960 vs Blueprint vs ???

    - by Christian Perry
I've been looking at different CSS frameworks. The two major players seem to be 960.gs and Blueprint. My question is simple: what are the pros and cons to each, and which do you recommend? And are there other frameworks that I should consider instead? Putting my question into context, I'm the designer on a site that's similar to StackOverflow, but with a general audience focus, rather than a specific technical one.

  • CSS Position Absolute constant top margin

    - by Brian
This question sounds simple but I'm an expert with CSS and I'm thinking it's impossible (a RARE thing). Is it possible to use CSS to give a a page a constant top margin if that div has no background (e.g. you can see through it)? Basically, I want the background image to be visible in the top 100px of a site, so that even when scrolling down, that top-margin remains in place. You can look at some live code here: http://cl.ly/40oY Here's a little infographic of what I'm attempting to do: http://cl.ly/40xt Thanks!

  • CSS - margin and float property

    - by David Casillas
1.- We have a div with static positioning. Inside we have a parragraph with a margin. The heigth of the div will be the parragraph without the margin 2.- We have a div with float:left. Inside we have a parragraph with a margin. The heigth of the div will be the parragraph plus its margin. What is the explanation of this? Here is the html code and the CSS code. • Switching CSS to use asset pipeline in Rails?

    - by John
I have a lot of legacy CSS files from what was a Rails 2.x app that got upgraded to Rails 3.2.8, and I want to switch over to using the Rails asset pipeline for stylesheets. The issue is, the CSS stuff is messy in terms of huge lines of code, duplicate file names, and unorganized folder structure. After looking through individual pages, and trying to add individual stylesheets and folders into the asset pipeline and spending some cycles debugging, I realized there's probably a better approach. Is there a way to test to make sure the old CSS matches up with the asset pipeline CSS? What are some good tools for testing and debugging CSS?
