  • Adobe AIR canvas dimensions messed up

    - by Nikhil
    I'm messing about with Canvas in Adobe Air. But their seems to be some issue with the mouse coordinates. The more I click towards the right, the difference between the draw position and actual click increases. My code is Wb.canvas.fillRect(evt.clientX-canvasTag.clientX, evt.clientY-canvasTag.clientY, 50, 50);

  • How to customize preferences screen theme to look like that ?

    - by Alex
    Ok, I have a Preferences activity set with an XML layout. Here I have a couple of Preferences that open some dialogs. On these preferences I want to have an arrow on the right of them like in the screenshot. How I do this, is something related to the theme ? First screenshot is how I want to look, second is what I have now. http://img545.imageshack.us/i/screenshot1zlk.png/ http://img405.imageshack.us/i/tsc3.png/

Surely its just two right? one for the server one for the client, but this seems to obvious. My mates thinks TCP uses two ports at the server end for for data in and one for data out. thanks in advance

  • How to tell Ruby not to serialize an attribute or how to overload marshal_dump properly?

    - by GregMoreno
    I have an attribute in my AR:B that is not serializeable. o = Discussion.find(6) Marshal.dump(o) TypeError: no marshal_dump is defined for class Proc from (irb):10:in `dump' I know the culprit and what I want is to set this variable to nil before any serialization takes place. I can do this but I'm stuck with the proper way to override marshal_dump def marshal_dump @problem = nil # what is the right return here? end Or is there is way to tell Ruby or AR not to serialize an object?

  • Is this technically thread safe despite being mutable?

    - by Finbarr
    Yes, the private member variable bar should be final right? But actually, in this instance, it is an atomic operation to simply read the value of an int. So is this technically thread safe? class foo { private int bar; public foo(int bar) { this.bar = bar; } public int getBar() { return bar; } } // assume infinite number of threads repeatedly calling getBar on the same instance of foo.

  • How to use Devicemotion/Gyroscope to move a dot from center to 8 directions of iphone screen

    - by iSeeker
    I am trying to move a dot at center to 8 directions of iphone screen using Devicemotion such that it moves faster when tilted at a faster rate. Rough sketch is below: I could find a similar implementation in an app called Gyrododge in appstore, i cant figure out how to make it work... Update: This is what i have done so far, but the response is not smooth, and is very jittery.. xdiff and ydiff are the change of device attitude in x and y directions, derived from quatenion implementation. if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x < -2) { NSLog(@"To Top"); if (195+800*ydiff >=193 && 195+800*ydiff <= 197) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (195+800*ydiff >=390 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 390, 20, 20)]; }else if (195+800*ydiff <= 0){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 0, 20, 20)]; }else if(195+800*ydiff < 194){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195+800*ydiff, 20, 20)]; }else if(195+800*ydiff > 196){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195+800*ydiff, 20, 20)]; } } }else if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x > 2){ NSLog(@"To Bottom"); if (195+800*ydiff >=193 && 195+800*ydiff <= 197) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (195+800*ydiff >=390 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 390, 20, 20)]; }else if (195+800*ydiff <= 0){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 0, 20, 20)]; }else if(195+800*ydiff < 194){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195+800*ydiff, 20, 20)]; }else if(195+800*ydiff > 196){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195+800*ydiff, 20, 20)]; } } }else if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y < -2){ NSLog(@"To Left"); if (150+500*xdiff >= 148 && 150+500*xdiff <=152) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (150+500*xdiff >= 300 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(300, 195, 20, 20)]; }else if (150+500*xdiff <= 0){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 195, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+500*xdiff < 148){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+500*xdiff, 195, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+500*xdiff > 152){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+500*xdiff, 195, 20, 20)]; } } }else if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y > 2){ NSLog(@"To Right"); if (150+500*xdiff >= 148 && 150+500*xdiff <=152) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (150+500*xdiff >= 300 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(300, 195, 20, 20)]; }else if (150+500*xdiff <= 0){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 195, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+500*xdiff < 148){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+500*xdiff, 195, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+500*xdiff > 152){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+500*xdiff, 195, 20, 20)]; } } }else if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x < -0.20 && currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y > 0.20 ){ NSLog(@"To Diagonal Right Top"); if (150+650*xdiff >= 148 && 150+650*xdiff <=152) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (150+650*xdiff >= 300 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(300, 0, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+650*xdiff > 152){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+650*xdiff, 195-1.3*650*xdiff, 20, 20)]; } } }else if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x > 0.20 && currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y < -0.20 ){ NSLog(@"To Diagonal Left Bottom"); if (150+650*xdiff >= 148 && 150+650*xdiff <=152) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (150+650*xdiff <= 0 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 390, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+650*xdiff < 148){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+650*xdiff, 195-1.3*650*xdiff, 20, 20)]; } } }else if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x < -0.20 && currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y < -0.20 ){ NSLog(@"To Diagonal Left Top and xdiff is %f",xdiff); if (150+650*xdiff >= 148 && 150+650*xdiff <=152) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (150+650*xdiff <= 0 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+650*xdiff < 148){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+650*xdiff, 195+1.3*650*xdiff, 20, 20)]; } } }else if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x > 0.20 && currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y > 0.20 ){ NSLog(@"To Diagonal Right Bottom"); if (150+650*xdiff >= 148 && 150+650*xdiff <=152) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (150+650*xdiff >= 300 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(300, 390, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+650*xdiff > 152){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+650*xdiff, 195+1.3*650*xdiff, 20, 20)]; } } }else if((currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x < 0.20 && currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x < -0.20) ||(currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y < 0.20 && currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y < -0.20) ||(currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.z < 0.20 && currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.z < -0.20)){ [self.rollDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; } It could be great if i could make it move like the application i have stated above, called Gyrododge This link also addresses a similar question:Link. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated... Thanks.

  • Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: utcDate

    - by Rob
    Our logs show hundreds of these errors after our deployment if users are on the site. Anyone know what this means and how to fix it? Notes: We are using msdeploy, IIS 6 I recently noticed that our web server's time is about 10 minutes behind the real time, I think that may have something to do with it. If I log into our site, seems like any file that depends on a WebResource or ScriptResource type file doesn't look right. Seems to fix itself after an IIS reset

  • Is learning ed worth it to boost my speed in VIM?

    - by Ksiresh
    I've learned the basic/intermediate levels of VIM ( it's to vast to list ). I often find that I slip back to my old ways and start using the mouse, holding down keys to get somewhere, and doing other stupid things that could be spead up. Would it be worth spending time to learn ed to break the habits learned from years in Windoze? Does using ed cultivate the right type of thinking that will transfer to VIM???

  • Getting the System tick count with basic C++?

    - by Donal Rafferty
    I essentially want to reconstruct the getTickCount() windows function so I can use it in basic C++ without any non standard libraries or even the STL. (So it complies with the libraries supplied with the Android NDK) I have looked at clock() localtime time But I'm still unsure whether it is possible to replicate the getTickCount windows function with the time library. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to do this or even if its possible?

  • How do I force git to use LF under windows?

    - by Sorin Sbarnea
    I want to force git to checkout files under Windows using just LF not CR+LF. I checked the two configuration options but I was not able to find the right combination of settings. I want it to convert all files to LF and keep the LF on the files. Remark: I used autocrlf = input but this just repairs the files when you commit them. I want to force it to get them using 'LF'.

  • User control events not getting to their handlers

    - by PhrkOnLsh
    I am trying to create a user control to wrap around the Membership API (A set of custom Gridviews to display the data better) and, while the code and the controls worked fine in the page, when I moved them to an .ascx, the events stopped firing to it. <%@ Control Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="CustomMembership.ascx.cs" Inherits="CCGlink.CustomMembership" %> <asp:Panel ID="mainPnl" runat="server"> <asp:Label id="lblError" ForeColor="Red" Font-Bold="true" runat="server" /> <asp:GridView id="grdUsers" HeaderStyle-cssclass="<%# _headercss %>" RowStyle-cssclass="<%# _rowcss %>" AlternatingRowStyle-cssclass="<%# _alternatingcss %>" OnRowUpdating="grdUsers_RowUpdating" OnRowDeleting="grdUsers_RowDeleting" OnRowCancelingEdit="grdUsers_cancelEdit" autogeneratecolumns="false" allowsorting="true" AllowPaging="true" EmptyDataText="No users..." pagesize="<%# PageSizeForBoth %>" runat="server"> <!-- ...columns... --> </asp:GridView> <asp:Button id="btnAllDetails" onclick="btnAllDetails_clicked" text="Full Info" runat="server" /> <asp:GridView DataKeyNames="UserName" HeaderStyle-cssclass="<%# _headercss %>" RowStyle-cssclass="<%# _rowcss %>" AlternatingRowStyle-cssclass="<%# _alternatingcss %>" id="grdAllDetails" visible="false" allowsorting="true" EmptyDataText="No users in DB." pagesize="<%# PageSizeForBoth %>" runat="server" /> <asp:Button id="btnDoneAllDetails" onclick="btnAllDetails_clicked" text="Done." Visible="false" runat="server" /> </asp:Panel> However, none of the events in the first two controls (the gridview grdUsers and the button btnAllDetails) simply do NOT occur, I have verified this in the debugger. If they occured just fine in the aspx page, why do they die on moving to the ascx? My code in the aspx now is: <div class="admin-right"> <asp:ScriptManager ID="sm1" runat="server" /> <h1>User Management</h1> <div class="admin-right-users"> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="up1" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <cm1:CustomMembership id="showUsers" PageSizeForBoth="9" AlternatingRowStylecssclass="alternating" RowStylecssclass="row" DataSource="srcUsers" HeaderStylecssclass="header" runat="server" /> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> </div> Thanks.

    - by acidzombie24
    I have two parts to my site. The main body and the sidebar. The body is 6in and sidebar will probably be 200px. How do i center my page? So there is equal space on the left and right side? It should center no matter the resolution. Using XHTML 1.0 Strict. Should work on all major browsers or at least Firefox and chrome.

  • Am I supposed to store hashes for passwords?

    - by Doug
    User System and Passwords: I was looking through MD5 stuff, and I am wondering what is the normal/good practice for passwords. Right now, I think people super encrypt the passwords and store the hashes. If so, how does password checking work? I just have the input password go through the encryption process again and then check the hash with the stored one, correct? This question may contradict the above, but should my salt ever be a randomly generated value?

  • Editing code in Visual Studio 2008 in debug mode

    - by user279521
    I am curious to know if there is a way to edit code in VS 2008 right when it has hit a breakpoint and I am walking thru the code... can I modify the code (such as the value in a variable or if my stepthrough line is about to hit an if statement ... can I modify the if statement....etc)? So far, I have to stop running VS, modify the code, then hit F5 and wait till the breakpoint is hit again.
