• Problem running java code through command line

• jQuery Tools alert works once (but only once)

  I'm trying to build a simple alert mechanism with jQuery Tools -- in response to a bit of Javascript code, pop up an overlay with a message and an OK button that, when clicked, makes the overlay go away. Trivial, or it should be. I've been slavishly following http://flowplayer.org/tools/demos/overlay/trigger.html, and have something that works fine the first time it's invoked, but only that time. If I repeat the JS action that should expose the overlay, it doesn't. But if I cause showOverlayDialog() to run again, without reloading the page, nothing happens. If I reload the page, then the pattern repeats -- the first invocation brings up the overlay, but the second one doesn't. I'm obviously missing something -- any advice out there? Thanks!

  You can add a property to a class using a getter and a setter (in a simplistic case): class<X>("X") .add_property("foo", &X::get_foo, &X::set_foo); But how to add a property to a module itself (not a class)? There is scope().attr("globalAttr") = ??? something ??? and def("globalAttr", ??? something ???); I can add global functions and objects of my class using the above two ways, but can't seem to add properties the same way as in classes.

• Getting the first result from a LINQ query - why does ElementAt<T>(0) fails when First<T>() succeeds

  I have a method AddStudent() which looks for a student with the same name and returns an existing student from the database if there is a student with the same name, otherwise it creates a new student and adds it to the database. I'm curious why se = students.First<StudentEntity>(); succeeds when se = students.ElementAt<StudentEntity>(0); fails when I try to get the first result from the LINQ query. Aren't the two methods the same?   Hello, I just used Resharper in one application and it made me feel as if i don't know how to code at all in C# :(. On every line it gave me it's suggestions :- Few of Resharper's favorite suggestions are :- 1) SomObject o = new SomeObject(); Resharper will convert to : var o = new SomeObject() 2) this.Loaded += new RoutedEventHandler(MainPage_Loaded); to this.Loaded += MainPage_Loaded; 3) convert my variables and putting _ in front of all instance variables. 4) Removing class parent's name. I tested this on Silverlight. public partial class MainPage : UserControl to public partial class MainPage EDIT :- 5) replace instance variable this.variable = somevalue to variable = somevalue Are all of these really necessary? Is it really going to affect the efficiency of my program? I mean what good is it going to do by replacing my class names with var keyword. After all var is also replaced with class name at compile time. Is it doing because it has been programmed to do or do these things really affect in some or another way? Thanks in advance :)

  In my app ive got a non-activity object which it's role is being a manager class. many times i need to pass "source activity" to methods as parameter to that manager class in order to make some operations on that activity. for exaple let's assume we have MyActivity which gotta do some toast. so i have this manager class called MyManager, and i have this method in it raiseToast(Activity sourceActivity) { Toast.makeText(sourceActivity, demo, Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); } and from Myactivity class we calling that method this way: MyManager manager=new MyManager(); manager.raitetoast(MyActivity.this); it works fine. what I'm asking here, is this a proper way to pass an Activity as parameter to a non-activity object? • Django admin causes high load for one model...

  In my Django admin, when I try to view/edit objects from one particular model class the memory usage and CPU rockets up and I have to restart the server. I can view the list of objects fine, but the problem comes when I click on one of the objects. Other models are fine. Working with the object in code (i.e. creating and displaying) is ok, the problem only arises when I try to view an object with the admin interface. The class isn't even particularly exotic: class Comment(models.Model): user = models.ForeignKey(User) thing = models.ForeignKey(Thing) date = models.DateTimeField(auto_now_add=True) content = models.TextField(blank=True, null=True) approved = models.BooleanField(default=True) class Meta: ordering = ['-date'] Any ideas? I'm stumped. The only reason I could think of might be that the thing is quite a large object (a few kb), but as I understand it, it wouldn't get loaded until it was needed (correct?).

• Another IKImageView Question: copying a region

  I'm trying to use the select and copy feature of the IKImageView. If all you want to do is have an app with an image, select a portion and copy it to the clipboard, it's easy. You set the copy menu pick to the first responder's copy:(id) method and magically everything works. However, if you want something more complicated, like you want to copy as part of some other operation, I can't seem to find the method to do this. IKImageView doesn't seem to have a copy method, it doesn't seem to have a method that will even tell you the selected rectangle! I have gone through Hillegass' book, so I understand how the clipboard works, just not how to get the portion of the image out of the view... Now, I'm starting to think that I made a mistake in basing my project on IKImageView, but it's what Preview is built on (or so I've read), so I figured it had to be stable... and anyway, now it's too late, I'm too deep in this to start over... So, other than not using IKImageView, any suggestions on how to copy the select region to the clipboard manually? EDIT actually, I have found the copy(id) method, but when I call it, I get <Error>: CGBitmapContextCreate: unsupported parameter combination: 8 integer bits/component; 16 bits/pixel; 1-component color space; kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedLast; 2624 bytes/row. Which obviously doesn't happen when I do a normal copy through the first-responder... I understand the error message, but I'm not sure where it's getting those parameters from... Is there any way to trace through this and see how this is happening? A debugger won't help for obvious reasons, as well as the fact that I'm doing this in Mozilla, so a debugger isn't an option anyway... EDIT 2 It occurs to me that the copy:(id) method I found may be copying the VIEW rather than copying a chunk of the image to the clipboard, which is what I need. The reason I thought it was the clipboard copy is that in another project, where I'm copying from an IKImageView to the clipboard straight from the edit menu, it just sends a copy:(id) to the firstResponder, but I'm not actually sure what the firstresponder does with it...

• Adding a generic image field onto a ModelForm in django

  I have two models, Room and Image. Image is a generic model that can tack onto any other model. I want to give users a form to upload an image when they post information about a room. I've written code that works, but I'm afraid I've done it the hard way, and specifically in a way that violates DRY. Was hoping someone who's a little more familiar with django forms could point out where I've gone wrong. Update: I've tried to clarify why I chose this design in comments to the current answers. To summarize: I didn't simply put an ImageField on the Room model because I wanted more than one image associated with the Room model. I chose a generic Image model because I wanted to add images to several different models. The alternatives I considered were were multiple foreign keys on a single Image class, which seemed messy, or multiple Image classes, which I thought would clutter my schema. I didn't make this clear in my first post, so sorry about that. • Django: Inherit Permssions from abstract models?

  Is it possible to inherit permissions from an abstract model in Django? I can not really find anything about that. For me this doesn't work! class PublishBase(models.Model): class Meta: abstract = True get_latest_by = 'created' permissions = (('change_foreign_items', "Can change other user's items"),) EDIT: Not working means it fails silently. Permission is not created, as it wouldn't exist on the models inheriting from this class.

  Hi, I have an object as follows Public Class Bin Public Property Id As Integer Public Property Name As String Public Property Store As Store End Class Public Class Store Public Property Id As Integer Public Property Bins As IEnumerable(Of Bin) End Class I have a unique constraint in the database on Bin.Name and BinStoreID to ensure unique names within stores. However, when NHibernate persists the store, it first inserts the Bin records with a null StoreID before performing an update later to set the correct StoreID. This violates the Unique Key If I persist two stores with a Bin of the same name because The Name columns are the same and the StoreID is null for both. Is there something I can add to the mapping to ensure that the correct StoreID is included in the INSERT rather than performing an update later? We are using HiLo identity generation so we are not relying on DB generated identity columns Thanks James

• Jboss logging issue

  I'm Working as deployer and server administrator. We use Jboss 4.0x AS to deploy our applications. The issue I'm facing is, Whenever we redeploy/restart the server, server.log is getting created but after sometime the logging goes off. Yes it is not at all updating the server.log file. Due to this, we could not trace the other critical issues we have. Actually we have two separate nodes and we do deploy/restarting the server separately on two nodes. We are facing the issue in both of our test and production environment. I could not trace out where exactly the issue is. Could you please help me in resolving the issue? If we have any other issues, we can check the log files. If log itself is not getting updated/logged, how can we move further in analyzing the issues without the recent/updated logs? • Recursion in Unity and Dispose pattern implementation

  My class is inherited from UnityContainer (from Unity 2.0), here is source code: public class UnityManager : UnityContainer { private UnityManager() { _context = new MyDataClassesDataContext(); // ... } protected override void Dispose(bool disposing) { if ( disposing ) { _context.Dispose(); } base.Dispose(disposing); } private readonly CMCoreDataClassesDataContext _context; } When Dispose method is called for the instance of UnityManager class it drop into recursion... Why? As far as I know base.Dispose should call the Dispose method of base class only... isn't it? Who call back the Dispose(bool) of UnityManager? How to prevent that? Thanks.

• Strange php behaviour on a gd function

  Hi, i met a very strange PHP behaviour, i don't understand why it behaves like this. I'm using the imagesetbrush function in this way: class foo { function setbrush($image) { //$this->_resource contains the main image resource imagesetbrush($this->_resource, $image); } } ... $res=imagecreatefrompng("image.png"); $class->setbrush($res); in this way it works, but if i change the code like this: class foo { function setbrush($image) { $res=imagecreatefrompng($image); imagesetbrush($this->_resource, $res); } } ... $class->setbrush("image.png"); it doesn't work anymore. Do you see some error? It doesn't show me any message it simply doesn't execute the function.

What I'm having a problem with is actually implementing it in my controller. My controller looks something like this. End Class however on the line that says Public Sub New(ByVal service As Data.IUserService) I'm getting an error 'service' cannot expose type 'Data.IUserService' outside the project through class 'UsersController' So my question is TWO PARTS How can I properly implement a Service Layer in my application using the concepts from that article? Should there be any content within my IUserService.vb?
