  • jQuery,Input buttons work in markup, but not when prepended?

    - by thatryan
    I have to buttons, image input that work fine when in the markup like this, <input type="image" class="play" src="images/play.png" /> <input type="image" class="pause" src="images/pause.png" /> But as soon as I try to prepend() it to a generated they still appear, but the click function does not work anymore. $('.gallery-nav').prepend('<input type="image" class="play" src="images/play.png" /><input type="image" class="pause" src="images/pause.png" />'); Any idea why? Thank you.

  • How to read Windows.UI.XAML.Style properties in C#

    - by Igor Kulman
    I am writing a class that will convert a HTML document to a list of Paragrpahs that can be used with RichTextBlock in Windows 8 apps. I want to be able to give the class a list of Styles defined in XAML and the class will read useful properties from the style and apply them. If I have a Windows.UI.XAML.Style style how do I read a property from it? I tried var fontWeight = style.GetValue(TextElement.FontWeightProperty) for a style defined in XAML with TargetProperty="TextBlock" but this fails with and exception

  • Issue in achartengine jar file

    - by Anshuman
    Actually i have created an app in which i have used achartengine to contruct graph. It was running ok, but today i saw an update for android SDK to r17. Once i upadated the sdk the app i had build started crash. In the logcat i show the following error report. Why this happen, is it because the jar file i have used is deprecated. 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: [Lorg.achartengine.chart.PointStyle; 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at in.com.example.ChartEngineActivity.onCreate(ChartEngineActivity.java:58) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.app.Instrumentation.callActivityOnCreate(Instrumentation.java:1047) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.app.ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:1611) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.app.ActivityThread.handleLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:1663) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.app.ActivityThread.access$1500(ActivityThread.java:117) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.app.ActivityThread$H.handleMessage(ActivityThread.java:931) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:130) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:3683) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:507) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:839) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:597) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method)

  • NHibernate: how to handle entity-based validation using session-per-request pattern, without control

    - by Seth Petry-Johnson
    What is the best way to do entity-based validation (each entity class has an IsValid() method that validates its internal members) in ASP.NET MVC, with a "session-per-request" model, where the controller has zero (or limited) knowledge of the ISession? Here's the pattern I'm using: Get an entity by ID, using an IFooRepository that wraps the current NH session. This returns a connected entity instance. Load the entity with potentially invalid data, coming from the form post. Validate the entity by callings its IsValid() method. If valid, call IFooRepository.Save(entity). Otherwise, display error message. The session is currently opened when the request begins and flushed when the request ends. Since my entity is connected to a session, flushing the session attempts to save the changes even if the object is invalid. What's the best way to keep validation logic in the entity class, limit controller knowledge of NH, and avoid saving invalid changes at the end of a request? Option 1: Explicitly evict on validation failure, implicitly flush: if the validation fails, I could manually evict the invalid object in the action method. If successful, I do nothing and the session is automatically flushed. Con: error prone and counter-intuitive ("I didn't call .Save(), why are my invalid changes being saved anyways?") Option 2: Explicitly flush, do nothing by default: By default I can dispose of the session on request end, only flushing if the controller indicates success. I'd probably create a SaveChanges() method in my base controller that sets a flag indicating success, and then query this flag when closing the session at request end. Pro: More intuitive to troubleshoot if dev forgets this step [relative to option 1] Con: I have to call IRepository.Save(entity)' and SaveChanges(). Option 3: Always work with disconnected objects: I could modify my repositories to return disconnected/transient objects, and modify the Repo.Save() method to re-attach them. Pro: Most intuitive, given that controllers don't know about NH. Con: Does this defeat many of the benefits I'd get from NH?

  • Error : The Type Initializer of Deamon.Global threw an exception in c#

    - by srk
    I am using the below class file, where some variables are declared to use in the entire application. Now i used that variable [BlockLogOut] in another class file to make the value True. I just put this below line and getting error in it.. "TypeInitializationException" Global.BlockLogOut = True; The wired thing is, it was working fine for many months and i am getting this error now on the above line. Of course i was modifying some other stuffs in the application, but surely not this class file. What would have been the problem ? namespace Daemon { class Global { public static bool BlockLogOut = false; } }

  • ASP.NET how to implement IServiceLayer

    - by rockinthesixstring
    I'm trying to follow the tutorial found here to implement a service layer in my MVC application. What I can't figure out is how to wire it all up. here's what I have so far. IUserRepository.vb Namespace Data Public Interface IUserRepository Sub AddUser(ByVal openid As String) Sub UpdateUser(ByVal id As Integer, ByVal about As String, ByVal birthdate As DateTime, ByVal openid As String, ByVal regionid As Integer, ByVal username As String, ByVal website As String) Sub UpdateUserReputation(ByVal id As Integer, ByVal AmountOfReputation As Integer) Sub DeleteUser(ByVal id As Integer) Function GetAllUsers() As IList(Of User) Function GetUserByID(ByVal id As Integer) As User Function GetUserByOpenID(ByVal openid As String) As User End Interface End Namespace UserRepository.vb Namespace Data Public Class UserRepository : Implements IUserRepository Private dc As DataDataContext Public Sub New() dc = New DataDataContext End Sub #Region "IUserRepository Members" Public Sub AddUser(ByVal openid As String) Implements IUserRepository.AddUser Dim user = New User user.LastSeen = DateTime.Now user.MemberSince = DateTime.Now user.OpenID = openid user.Reputation = 0 user.UserName = String.Empty dc.Users.InsertOnSubmit(user) dc.SubmitChanges() End Sub Public Sub UpdateUser(ByVal id As Integer, ByVal about As String, ByVal birthdate As Date, ByVal openid As String, ByVal regionid As Integer, ByVal username As String, ByVal website As String) Implements IUserRepository.UpdateUser Dim user = (From u In dc.Users Where u.ID = id Select u).Single user.About = about user.BirthDate = birthdate user.LastSeen = DateTime.Now user.OpenID = openid user.RegionID = regionid user.UserName = username user.WebSite = website dc.SubmitChanges() End Sub Public Sub UpdateUserReputation(ByVal id As Integer, ByVal AmountOfReputation As Integer) Implements IUserRepository.UpdateUserReputation Dim user = (From u In dc.Users Where u.ID = id Select u).FirstOrDefault ''# Simply take the current reputation from the select statement ''# and add the proper "AmountOfReputation" user.Reputation = user.Reputation + AmountOfReputation dc.SubmitChanges() End Sub Public Sub DeleteUser(ByVal id As Integer) Implements IUserRepository.DeleteUser Dim user = (From u In dc.Users Where u.ID = id Select u).FirstOrDefault dc.Users.DeleteOnSubmit(user) dc.SubmitChanges() End Sub Public Function GetAllUsers() As System.Collections.Generic.IList(Of User) Implements IUserRepository.GetAllUsers Dim users = From u In dc.Users Select u Return users.ToList End Function Public Function GetUserByID(ByVal id As Integer) As User Implements IUserRepository.GetUserByID Dim user = (From u In dc.Users Where u.ID = id Select u).FirstOrDefault Return user End Function Public Function GetUserByOpenID(ByVal openid As String) As User Implements IUserRepository.GetUserByOpenID Dim user = (From u In dc.Users Where u.OpenID = openid Select u).FirstOrDefault Return user End Function #End Region End Class End Namespace IUserService.vb Namespace Data Interface IUserService End Interface End Namespace UserService.vb Namespace Data Public Class UserService : Implements IUserService Private _ValidationDictionary As IValidationDictionary Private _repository As IUserRepository Public Sub New(ByVal validationDictionary As IValidationDictionary, ByVal repository As IUserRepository) _ValidationDictionary = validationDictionary _repository = repository End Sub Protected Function ValidateUser(ByVal UserToValidate As User) As Boolean Dim isValid As Boolean = True If UserToValidate.OpenID.Trim().Length = 0 Then _ValidationDictionary.AddError("OpenID", "OpenID is Required") isValid = False End If If UserToValidate.MemberSince = Nothing Then _ValidationDictionary.AddError("MemberSince", "MemberSince is Required") isValid = False End If If UserToValidate.LastSeen = Nothing Then _ValidationDictionary.AddError("LastSeen", "LastSeen is Required") isValid = False End If If UserToValidate.Reputation = Nothing Then _ValidationDictionary.AddError("Reputation", "Reputation is Required") isValid = False End If Return isValid End Function End Class End Namespace I have also wired up the IValidationDictionary.vb and the ModelStateWrapper.vb as described in the article above. What I'm having a problem with is actually implementing it in my controller. My controller looks something like this. Public Class UsersController : Inherits BaseController Private UserService As Data.IUserService Public Sub New() UserService = New Data.UserService(New Data.ModelStateWrapper(Me.ModelState), New Data.UserRepository) End Sub Public Sub New(ByVal service As Data.IUserService) UserService = service End Sub .... End Class however on the line that says Public Sub New(ByVal service As Data.IUserService) I'm getting an error 'service' cannot expose type 'Data.IUserService' outside the project through class 'UsersController' So my question is TWO PARTS How can I properly implement a Service Layer in my application using the concepts from that article? Should there be any content within my IUserService.vb?

  • LINQDataSource and private columns

    - by fyjham
    Hey, I was trying to use a ListView bound to a LinqDataSource to insert to a table where I had a few columns private to the table class (Specifically password columns - only access I want to give outside the class is methods that generate the salt and encrypt the password to store it in 1 go). I gave this a few shots, but I didn't come up with anything I really liked... was wondering if anyone has a better way to do this. The methods I've found: Use the LinqDataSource inserting event and make the appropriate calls on e.NewObject. I don't really like this because it's so far removed from the actual input and there's no simple way to hold the password in the meantime other than a class variable set during the ListView's inserting event (Which works, but seems a little dodgy). Open up these properties and just ask everyone to use the appropriate static methods for encoding the passwords they pass in. I don't really like this cause I'd prefer that class to enforce data integrity rather than relying on all calling code doing it properly... I'm currently going with option #1, but I don't really like passing values between events using class variables like that (It just seems unstructured... even though I can guarantee the events will happen in the right order). Does anyone know a better way, or alternatively am I being too pedantic and one of the methods above is actually the right way to go? Thanks

  • BoundsChecker shows incorrect memory leak message

    - by Prabhu
    Hello All, I'm using BoundsChecker9.1 with visual c++. I have a class class Sample{ public: vector(AnotherClass) x; }. When I run my program the BoundsChecker tool reports all push_back() calls such as S.x.push_back(AnotherClass()) as memory leak.. Wouldn't all the elements in vector x will always be deallocated when the Sample class goes out of scope? If so, any idea about why BoundsChecker is showing them as memory leak?

  • How do I debug this javascript -- I don't get an error in Firebug but it's not working as expected.

    - by Angela
    I installed the plugin better-edit-in-place (http://github.com/nakajima/better-edit-in-place) but I dont' seem to be able to make it work. The plugin creates javascript, and also automatically creates a rel and class. The expected behavior is to make an edit-in-place, but it currently is not. Nothing happens when I mouse over. When I use firebug, it is rendering the value to be edited correctly: <span rel="/emails/1" id="email_1_days" class="editable">7</span> And it is showing the full javascript which should work on class editable. I didn't copy everything, just the chunks that seemed should be operationable if I have a class name in the DOM. // Editable: Better in-place-editing // http://github.com/nakajima/nakatype/wikis/better-edit-in-place-editable-js var Editable = Class.create({ initialize: function(element, options) { this.element = $(element); Object.extend(this, options); // Set default values for options this.editField = this.editField || {}; this.editField.type = this.editField.type || 'input'; this.onLoading = this.onLoading || Prototype.emptyFunction; this.onComplete = this.onComplete || Prototype.emptyFunction; this.field = this.parseField(); this.value = this.element.innerHTML; this.setupForm(); this.setupBehaviors(); }, // In order to parse the field correctly, it's necessary that the element // you want to edit in place for have an id of (model_name)_(id)_(field_name). // For example, if you want to edit the "caption" field in a "Photo" model, // your id should be something like "photo_#{@photo.id}_caption". // If you want to edit the "comment_body" field in a "MemberBlogPost" model, // it would be: "member_blog_post_#{@member_blog_post.id}_comment_body" parseField: function() { var matches = this.element.id.match(/(.*)_\d*_(.*)/); this.modelName = matches[1]; this.fieldName = matches[2]; if (this.editField.foreignKey) this.fieldName += '_id'; return this.modelName + '[' + this.fieldName + ']'; }, // Create the editing form for the editable and inserts it after the element. // If window._token is defined, then we add a hidden element that contains the // authenticity_token for the AJAX request. setupForm: function() { this.editForm = new Element('form', { 'action': this.element.readAttribute('rel'), 'style':'display:none', 'class':'in-place-editor' }); this.setupInputElement(); if (this.editField.tag != 'select') { this.saveInput = new Element('input', { type:'submit', value: Editable.options.saveText }); if (this.submitButtonClass) this.saveInput.addClassName(this.submitButtonClass); this.cancelLink = new Element('a', { href:'#' }).update(Editable.options.cancelText); if (this.cancelButtonClass) this.cancelLink.addClassName(this.cancelButtonClass); } var methodInput = new Element('input', { type:'hidden', value:'put', name:'_method' }); if (typeof(window._token) != 'undefined') { this.editForm.insert(new Element('input', { type: 'hidden', value: window._token, name: 'authenticity_token' })); } this.editForm.insert(this.editField.element); if (this.editField.type != 'select') { this.editForm.insert(this.saveInput); this.editForm.insert(this.cancelLink); } this.editForm.insert(methodInput); this.element.insert({ after: this.editForm }); }, // Create input element - text input, text area or select box. setupInputElement: function() { this.editField.element = new Element(this.editField.type, { 'name':this.field, 'id':('edit_' + this.element.id) }); if(this.editField['class']) this.editField.element.addClassName(this.editField['class']); if(this.editField.type == 'select') { // Create options var options = this.editField.options.map(function(option) { return new Option(option[0], option[1]); }); // And assign them to select element options.each(function(option, index) { this.editField.element.options[index] = options[index]; }.bind(this)); // Set selected option try { this.editField.element.selectedIndex = $A(this.editField.element.options).find(function(option) { return option.text == this.element.innerHTML; }.bind(this)).index; } catch(e) { this.editField.element.selectedIndex = 0; } // Set event handlers to automaticall submit form when option is changed this.editField.element.observe('blur', this.cancel.bind(this)); this.editField.element.observe('change', this.save.bind(this)); } else { // Copy value of the element to the input this.editField.element.value = this.element.innerHTML; } }, // Sets up event handles for editable. setupBehaviors: function() { this.element.observe('click', this.edit.bindAsEventListener(this)); if (this.saveInput) this.editForm.observe('submit', this.save.bindAsEventListener(this)); if (this.cancelLink) this.cancelLink.observe('click', this.cancel.bindAsEventListener(this)); }, // Event Handler that activates form and hides element. edit: function(event) { this.element.hide(); this.editForm.show(); this.editField.element.activate ?   • jqgrid and django models

I know the fields are available in the object in my view as I can print them but they are not built into the json structure. Does anyone know how to overcome this? Thanks Andrew

  • Change a UIButton View's background upon press

    - by Michael
    This should be easy but its got me stumped. I've got a button on each row of a table cell. The button is to delete the file associated with that row. I have an image that indicates if the file is present on the iPhone or not present. When the user presses the button, the target action method (showDeleteSheet) then calls a UIActionSheet with a variable to give it the indexPath of the row pressed. Then the user presses delete on the action sheet and the action sheet's clickedButtonAtIndex method deletes the file. Now, I need to update the button's background image property to change the image in the appropriate table cell to the not downloaded image. This can be done in either the button's target action method or the action sheet's clickedButtonAtIndex method. Here is some code: In the table's cellForRowAtIndexPath method I create the button: UIButton *deleteButton = [[UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom] retain]; [deleteButton addTarget:self action:@selector(showDeleteSheet:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchDown]; deleteButton.frame = CGRectMake(246, 26, 30, 30); if (![AppData isDownloaded:[dets objectForKey:@"fileName"]]) { [deleteButton setBackgroundImage:notdownloadedImage forState:UIControlStateNormal]; } else { [deleteButton setBackgroundImage:notdownloadedImage forState:UIControlStateNormal]; } In the button's target method: -(void)showDeleteSheet:(id)sender { //get the cell row that the button is in NSIndexPath *indexPath = [table indexPathForCell:(UITableViewCell *)[[sender superview] superview]]; NSInteger currentSection = indexPath.section; NSInteger currentIndexRow = indexPath.row; NSLog(@"section = %i row = %i", currentSection, currentIndexRow); UIButton *deleteButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom]; [table reloadData]; //if deleteButton is declared in .h then the other instances of deleteButton show 'local declaration hides instance variable' [deleteButton setBackgroundImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"not-downloaded.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; UIActionSheet *actionSheet = [[UIActionSheet alloc] initWithTitle:@"Delete this file?" delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:@"Cancel" destructiveButtonTitle:@"Delete" otherButtonTitles:nil]; actionSheet.tag = currentIndexRow; actionSheet.actionSheetStyle = UIActionSheetStyleDefault; [actionSheet showInView:self.view]; [actionSheet release]; } Perhaps the issue is that the call to [deleteButton setBackgroundImage...]; doesn't know which cell's button should be updated. If so I don't know how to tell it which. Because I test if the file is downloaded when the button is made and the background image is set, when I scroll down so the cell in question is de-queued then scroll back up it show's the correct image. I've tried to force the table to reload but [table reloadData]; is doing nothing. I've tried reloadRowsAtIndexPaths and still no good. Any one care to educate me on how this is done?

  • Java - Custom PropertyEditorSupport to display units

    - by I82Much
    All, I'm trying to make the properties of my node have Units associated with the measure. ( I am using the JScience.org implementation of JSR 275) So for instance, public class Robot extends AbstractNode { // in kg float vehicleMass; @Override public Sheet createSheet() { Sheet s = Sheet.createDefault(); Sheet.Set set = s.createPropertiesSet(); try { PropertySupport.Reflection vehicleMassField = new PropertySupport.Reflection(this, float.class, "vehicleMass"); vehicleMassField.setValue("units", SI.KILOGRAMS); vehicleMassField.setName("vehicleMass"); set.put(vehicleMassField); PropertyEditorManager.registerEditor(float.class, UnitInPlaceEditor.class); } catch (NoSuchMethodException ex) { Exceptions.printStackTrace(ex); } s.put(set); return s; } } I want my UnitInPlaceEditor to append the units to the end of the string representation of the number, and when the field is clicked (enters edit mode) for the units to disappear and just the number becomes selected for editing. I can make the units appear, but I cannot get the units to disappear when the field enters editing mode. public class UnitsInplaceEditor extends PropertyEditorSupport implements ExPropertyEditor { private PropertyEnv pe; @Override public String getAsText() { // Append the unit by retrieving the stored value } @Override public void setAsText(String s) { // strip off the unit, parse out the number } public void attachEnv(PropertyEnv pe) { this.pe = pe; } } Here's a screenshot of the display - I like it like this.. but here's the value being edited; note the unit stays there. Basically I want one value (string) to be displayed in the field when the field is NOT being edited, and a different to be displayed when user starts editing the field. Barring that, I'd like to put a constant jlabel for the units (uneditable) to the right of the text field. Anyone know how to do this?

  • Observer pattern used with decorator pattern

    - by icelated
    I want to make a program that does an order entry system for beverages. ( i will probably do description, cost) I want to use the Decorator pattern and the observer pattern. I made a UML drawing and saved it as a pic for easy viewing. This site wont let me upload as a word doc so i have to upload a pic - i hope its easily viewable.... I need to know if i am doing the UML / design patterns correctly before moving on to the coding part. Beverage is my abstract component class. Espresso, houseblend, darkroast are my concrete subject classes.. I also have a condiment decorator class milk,mocha,soy,whip. would be my observer? because they would be interested in data changes to cost? Now, would the espresso,houseblend etc, be my SUBJECT and the condiments be my observer? My theory is that Cost is a changes and that the condiments need to know the changes? So, subject = esspresso,houseblend,darkroast,etc.. // they hold cost() Observer = milk,mocha,soy,whip? // they hold cost() would be the concrete components and the milk,mocha,soy,whip? would be the decorator! So, following good software engineering practices "design to an interface and not implementation" or "identify things that change from those that dont" would i need a costbehavior interface? If you look at the UML you will see where i am going with this and see if i am implementing observer + Decorator pattern correctly? I think the decorator is correct. since, the pic is not very viewable i will detail the classes here: Beverage class(register observer, remove observer, notify observer, description) these classes are the concrete beverage classes espresso, houseblend,darkroast, decaf(cost,getdescription,setcost,costchanged) interface observer class(update) // cost? interface costbehavior class(cost) // since this changes? condiment decorator class( getdescription) concrete classes that are linked to the 2 interface s and decorator are: milk,mocha,soy,whip(cost,getdescription,update) these are my decorator/ wrapper classes. Thank you.. Is there a way to make this picture bigger?

    Hello, So i am stuck, i am creating a gwt web application, i will be using a tree(gwt Tree and TreeItems) structure to show a list of folders(class Folder) and files(class FileLocation), the folder and filelocation class will all implement a Hierarchy interface basing the classes on the composite pattern. but i am using hibernate to store my data , and i am using annotations for the mapping of the data to the database. my trouble is i do not know how to annotate my interface. have any of you guys used the composite pattern while persisting the data with hibernate public interface Hierarchy(){ // a few abstract methods that will be implemented by the sub classes } @Entity @Table() public class Folder extends Hierarchy implements Serializable { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) @Column(name = "folder_id", updatable = false, nullable = false) private int id; @OneToMany(cascade = CascadeType.ALL,fetch = FetchType.EAGER) @JoinTable(name = "FOLDER_FILELOCATION", joinColumns = { @JoinColumn(name = "folder_id") }, inverseJoinColumns = { @JoinColumn(name = "file_information_id") }) private List<Hierarchy> children = new ArrayList<Hierarchy>() ; @Column(name = "folder_name") private String folderName; @Column(name = "tree_item") private TreeItem item; @Column (name = "parent") private Hierarchy parent; @Entity @Table(name = "FILE_INFORMATION_TABLE") public class FileInformation extends Hierarchy implements Serializable { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) @Column(name = "file_information_id", updatable = false, nullable = false) private int fiId; @Column (name = "location") private String location; @Column(name = "tree_item") private TreeItem item; @Column (name = "parent") private Hierarchy parent;

  • how to deal a constructor with an array in Perl

    - by superstar
    whats the difference between these two 'new' constructors in perl? 1) sub new { my $class = shift; my $self = {}; $self->{firstName} = undef; $self->{lastName} = undef; $self->{PEERS} = []; bless ($self, $class); return $self; } 2) sub new { my $class = shift; my $self = { _firstName => shift, _lastName => shift, _ssn => shift, }; bless $self, $class; return $self; } I am using the 2nd one so far, but i need to implement the arrays in perl? can you suggest a way to do it with the 2nd 'new' constructor and how can we use get and set methods on those array variables?

  • Grails pattern to reuse template on error

    - by bsreekanth
    Hello, I have a gsp template, where the data for create view is passed through the controller. def create = { def bookInstance = new Book() bookInstance .properties = params def map = getDefaultValues() render(template: "create", model: [bookInstance : bookInstance , title: map.title, somelist: somelist ....]) the gsp template <g:select optionKey="id" from="${somelist}" name="somelist.id" value="${bookInstance ?.somelist?.id}" noSelection="['null': '']"></g:select> now, in the save method, if there is an error, it returns currently populated and validated instance (default scaffold implementation) render(template: "create", model: [bookInstance : bookInstance ]) But the fields in the gsp (error page rendered from save action) is empty. I could see the reason as it looks the value in "${somelist}" , but it is not used in save method. Do i just need to check for null in the gsp and use whichever map is available, or any better method (passing all the map in the save method is not an option) .. thanks in advance..

  • Java declarations (ordering)

    - by incrediman
    In Java, what's generally the most accepted way to organize a class in terms of the order in which declared data members and methods should be listed in the class file, keeping in mind the following and anything else you can think of for each one: its visibility whether it's a constructor, method, or member if it's a method, does it overload, or override other method(s)?

  • Rails named_scope across multiple tables

    - by wakiki
    I'm trying to tidy up my code by using named_scopes in Rails 2.3.x but where I'm struggling with the has_many :through associations. I'm wondering if I'm putting the scopes in the wrong place... Here's some pseudo code below. The problem is that the :accepted named scope is replicated twice... I could of course call :accepted something different but these are the statuses on the table and it seems wrong to call them something different. Can anyone shed light on whether I'm doing the following correctly or not? I know Rails 3 is out but it's still in beta and it's a big project I'm doing so I can't use it in production yet. class Person < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :connections has_many :contacts, :through => :connections named_scope :accepted, :conditions => ["connections.status = ?", Connection::ACCEPTED] # the :accepted named_scope is duplicated named_scope :accepted, :conditions => ["memberships.status = ?", Membership::ACCEPTED] end class Group < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :memberships has_many :members, :through => :memberships end class Connection < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :person belongs_to :contact, :class_name => "Person", :foreign_key => "contact_id" end class Membership < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :person belongs_to :group end I'm trying to run something like person.contacts.accepted and group.members.accepted which are two different things. Shouldn't the named_scopes be in the Membership and Connection classes? One solution is to just call the two different named scope something different in the Person class or even to create separate associations (ie. has_many :accepted_members and has_many :accepted_contacts) but it seems hackish and in reality I have many more than just accepted (ie. banned members, ignored connections, pending, requested etc etc)

  • C++ type-checking at compile-time

    - by Masterofpsi
    Hi, all. I'm pretty new to C++, and I'm writing a small library (mostly for my own projects) in C++. In the process of designing a type hierarchy, I've run into the problem of defining the assignment operator. I've taken the basic approach that was eventually reached in this article, which is that for every class MyClass in a hierarchy derived from a class Base you define two assignment operators like so: class MyClass: public Base { public: MyClass& operator =(MyClass const& rhs); virtual MyClass& operator =(Base const& rhs); }; // automatically gets defined, so we make it call the virtual function below MyClass& MyClass::operator =(MyClass const& rhs); { return (*this = static_cast<Base const&>(rhs)); } MyClass& MyClass::operator =(Base const& rhs); { assert(typeid(rhs) == typeid(*this)); // assigning to different types is a logical error MyClass const& casted_rhs = dynamic_cast<MyClass const&>(rhs); try { // allocate new variables Base::operator =(rhs); } catch(...) { // delete the allocated variables throw; } // assign to member variables } The part I'm concerned with is the assertion for type equality. Since I'm writing a library, where assertions will presumably be compiled out of the final result, this has led me to go with a scheme that looks more like this: class MyClass: public Base { public: operator =(MyClass const& rhs); // etc virtual inline MyClass& operator =(Base const& rhs) { assert(typeid(rhs) == typeid(*this)); return this->set(static_cast<Base const&>(rhs)); } private: MyClass& set(Base const& rhs); // same basic thing }; But I've been wondering if I could check the types at compile-time. I looked into Boost.TypeTraits, and I came close by doing BOOST_MPL_ASSERT((boost::is_same<BOOST_TYPEOF(*this), BOOST_TYPEOF(rhs)>));, but since rhs is declared as a reference to the parent class and not the derived class, it choked. Now that I think about it, my reasoning seems silly -- I was hoping that since the function was inline, it would be able to check the actual parameters themselves, but of course the preprocessor always gets run before the compiler. But I was wondering if anyone knew of any other way I could enforce this kind of check at compile-time.

  • Retrieving accessors in IronRuby

    - by rsteckly
    I'm trying to figure out how to retrieve the value stored in the Person class. The problem is just that after I define an instance of the Person class, I don't know how to retrieve it within the IronRuby code because the instance name is in the .NET part. /*class Person attr_accessor :name def initialize(strname) self.name=strname end end*/ //We start the DLR, in this case starting the Ruby version ScriptEngine engine = IronRuby.Ruby.CreateEngine(); ScriptScope scope = engine.ExecuteFile("c:\\Users\\ron\\RubymineProjects\\untitled\\person.rb"); //We get the class type object person = engine.Runtime.Globals.GetVariable("Person"); //We create an instance object marcy = engine.Operations.CreateInstance(person, "marcy");
