• How come my email link in drupal footer message doesn't work?

• Convert graph in to data points using Mechanical Turk?

  I looked around but did not see anyone using Mechanical Turk for this. I've heard of the service, but never used it before. I need to take the following graph and digitize it so I get a list of data points for each line (noting that there are two Y-axes, and thus depends on which line we are talking about). This is pretty time consuming for me, and I saw other posts on StackOverflow about digitizing software doing a poor job at this. Would Mechanical Turk be well suited to my task?   I am trying to initiate a OTA app install from within a phonegap iPad app. I have tried this: var url = "http://www.example.com/test.plist"; window.open("itms-services://?action=download-manifest&url=" + url, "_blank"); This works in iOS 5 but NOT iOS 6. I have also tried using the ChildBrowser plugin to point to a page with a link to the OTA app install but that doesn't work either. (If I visit the webpage directly from within the native iPad browser, it works fine) Does anyone know how I can initiate a OTA app install from within the phonegap iPad app? (must work in iOS 5 and iOS 6) I am trying to implement an auto update feature within a Ad-Hock iPad app (not through App Store). So when the app detects that there is a new update, it will prompt the user to install the new update and thats where I need this functionality.

• Facebook Connect showPermissionDialog callback fires before user can even see the dialog

  I'm doing a Facebook Connect integration for a site and when the user logs in, I need to ask for some permissions so I use FB.Connect.showPermissionDialog. I use its callback to see if permissions were granted. If they are granted, I want to submit the form. • WWSAPI and setting "soapenv:Header" values

  I'm trying to connect to a web service from a C++ app using WWS. I got the base connection working just fine. My XML message has two parts though, a header (soapenv:Header) and a body (soapenv:Body). the generated functions only fill in the body. How do I set the Header information? I assumed it has something to do with WsSetHeader() or WsAddCustomHeader() but can't seam to find the right values to use in the parameters. Can someone point me in the right direction here? I've been googling and trying to research this now for several days and am finding many sources for basic help with WWSAPI, but nothing seams to go deeper into how to use it for more advanced applications. any good links or resources to find more advanced help on WWSAPI? • Fix for iframe calling location.href

  I'm trying to embed a mapquest direction page such as http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Ann+Arbor&1s=MI&1a=1440+Hubbard+St&1z=48109-2083&1y=US&1l=42.293437&1g=-83.724491&1v=ADDRESS&2c=Ann+Arbor&2s=MI&2a=930+N+University+Ave&2z=48109-1055&2y=US&2l=42.278558&2g=-83.737969&2v=ADDRESS using an iframe. The problem is at least one of their javascripts calls location.href which is causing the script to hang. If I'm not mistaken this is because the page I'm embedding the page on is in a different domain. Are there any ways around this?

• synchronizing audio over a network

  I'm in startup of designing a client/server audio system which can stream audio arbitrarily over a network. One central server pumps out an audio stream and x number of clients receives the audio data and plays it. So far no magic needed and I have even got this scenario to work with VLC media player out of the box. However, the tricky part seems to be synchronizing the audio playback so that all clients are in audible synch (actual latency can be allowed as long as it is perceived to be in sync by a human listener). My question is if there's any known method or algorithm to use for these types of synchronization problems (video is probably solved the same way). My own initial thoughts centers around synchronizing clocks between physical machines and thereby creating a virtual "main timer" and somehow aligning audio data packets against it. • Setting the content-type of requests performed by jQuery jqGrid

  I am using the latest version of jqGrid: 3.6.4 This seems like a simple problem (or at least it did before I spent a few hours on it): When the grid sends a request to the server (to a controller action), its content-type is always: application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8 and I would like it to be: application/json; charset=utf-8 but I can find no way of setting the content-type (there is no contentType option as you would find on a $.ajax call for example). So just to clarify, I am not asking how to set the content-type on a jQuery server request, but specifically using jqGrid, which does not provide an obvious option for doing this. Thanks, Nigel.

• Spry Collapsible Panel within Collapsible Panel, inconsistent errors.

  Hello everyone it is me again with another question. The booking system located here http://www.divethegap.com/scuba-diving-programmes-dive-the-gap/divemaster-training.php?cat=16 There are 3 main collapsible panels controlled by the spry framework. There are then over a dozen more inside the first collapsible panel as you can see on that page. When you open one of those by pressing one of the 'learn more' buttons you will see that the main collapsible panel that it is in also expands to fit that content and the contracts if you close the smaller panel again. However as soon as you go to the next main collapsible panel 'summery and quote' and then go back to the first main panel by pressing the button that says 'back' there are problems. Now if you open up one of the smaller panels inside the first main panel you will see that the main panel does not expand to fit the contents and in fact the content of the smaller panels spreads over the other content, floating above it.   Hi all, I'm creating a firefox add-on, and I have a situation where if someone clicks on a specific item in my toolbarbutton menupopup, I want to display some text to appear beside the mouse for a couple seconds. I don't mean mouseover text, because when they click on the item, the I close the menupopup. I mean something like what's shown at this site: http://www.kingsquare.nl/cursormessage The normal way of doing this would be with javascript and a div that would have the text I want to show. Unfortunately, I've discovered that the toolbarbutton can't have an effect on the main window, which is where I'd need to place the div to show. I've tried getting JQuery to work and haven't been successful either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

• Using Twitter OAuth for automatic status update

  I want my website to automatically post status updates to a particular twitter account using OAuth in PHP. I test this using a URL www.mysite.com/update_status but it asks me for "user name" and "password", which is fine when I am testing it. But my website will not be able to insert this user name and password before posting the status update. So the question is how can a website which is in the server, automatically post a status update to an account without user filling out the user name and password. Is there any way to bypass this? I tried saving oAuth tokens, but it's not working. Thank you for your answer in advance!

• Scipy sparse... arrays?

  Hey, folks. So, I'm doing some Kmeans classification using numpy arrays that are quite sparse-- lots and lots of zeroes. I figured that I'd use scipy's 'sparse' package to reduce the storage overhead, but I'm a little confused about how to create arrays, not matrices. I've gone through this tutorial on how to create sparse matrices: http://www.scipy.org/SciPy_Tutorial#head-c60163f2fd2bab79edd94be43682414f18b90df7 To mimic an array, I just create a 1xN matrix, but as you may guess, Asp.dot(Bsp) doesn't quite work because you can't multiply two 1xN matrices. I'd have to transpose each array to Nx1, and that's pretty lame, since I'd be doing it for every dot-product calculation. Next up, I tried to create an NxN matrix where column 1 == row 1 (such that you can multiply two matrices and just take the top-left corner as the dot product), but that turned out to be really inefficient. I'd love to use scipy's sparse package as a magic replacement for numpy's array(), but as yet, I'm not really sure what to do. Any advice? Thank you very much!

• Problem serving video to iPad from Mongrel 1.1.5 , RoR 2.0.2 on Mac OS 10.6.3 Server

  I am working off the Final Cut Server Integration sample provided by Apple that is a Rails app using 2.0.2 and runs on Mongrel 1.1.5. I can have a basic non-Ruby directory on my boot volume (Mac OS 10.6.3 Server) and can serve up video files just fine to iPad. However, when I drag the same video file into the 'public' area of the app running on -p 3000 it will not play on iPad, but will in Safari 4.0.5 desktop version. Images work fine so I know it's not a permissions issue. I'm getting the crossed-out play icon on iPad so it is not an issue of waiting on a large file to download before playing. I suspect it is a Mongrel/Snow Leopard issue but why would Safari on desktop work fine and not Safari iPad?   Hello, everybody!!!! I have just successfully installed TWILL on my computer with the help of one very supportive member of "StackOverflow" (you can check it out HERE) and have tried to run one of the simple examples on the twill documentation page (you can see that page HERE). Here is that example: Let's say my username on www.slash.org is lynxye and my password is mammal. When I try to enter that example code into my Python prompt, I can only type and enter the first line of the code because when I click on "Enter" to start a new line, I get some error messages right away: The same happens when I try to enter this code into my terminal: I think I miss out on some basics here. Perhaps, I need to create a file that would contain that code and then run that file somehow, but I really don't know where I need to create that file and with what extensdion. Can anyone, please, help me with this?
