• When does post-update get called (GIT)

  My git setup was working beautifully, then stopped cooperating today. Right now, I can git-pull, git commit just fine from my local machine. When I git push, the push goes through, but the server files don't actually get updated. Now I wonder, is my post-update file even getting called anymore? I've checked the permissions, and they are all group +x, and I'm a part of the group... any other suggestions?

  I have an application that displays some HTML in a QWebview, which references images on the local file system. This works fine directly running the python. When compiling via py2exe, the images no longer load. Google doesn't seem to know the answer, any ideas?

Currently I want to separate the app server and db server, so I create a jdbc datasource to point to mysql server, but it doesn't works as expect, by the way, when I create datasource to point to local machine (glassfish app server and mysql db server in single machine), and It works well. Is there any configuration I need to care of when pointing datasource to different machine which I use to host my database (MySQL 5.1)?

• Heroku + Yii "Application runtime path is not valid"

  I'm trying to deploy a Yii webapp into Heroku but, it keep throwing at me a weird error: Application runtime path "/app/www/protected/runtime" is not valid. Please make sure it is a directory writable by the Web server process. Makes no sense and I know is something to do with Heroku because in my local machine it works fine. Does anyone what does this means? what do I need to do in Heroku ti fix this?? Many thanks.

  I often use VS 2008 to debug a .NET C# component of an application. Sometimes, I want to quit debugging and continue running the application. Stop Debugging kills the process I was debugging. How can I achieve my aim? This is not a web app, it's a local process that runs managed and unmanaged code. I don't see any "Detach" or "Detach All" option in the Debug menu (is it enabled in some option?).

  I need to get the path (not the executable) where my application is running from: System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory() When I run the above statement with & "/images/image.jpg" on my local machine it works fine but when I install the application on another machine it says it cannot find the file and there is a lot of extra path information some.   I frequently upload CSV files to a MySQL db. It is very convenient to use LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE to upload the data, but I can't use this to create the table itself. As of now, the best method I have is to use PHP to get the field titles from the first row of the file and then put together a CREATE table query. Is there a more convenient way to do this?

How can you compare the current state of the remote repository (with the 3 changesets checked in) vs. the current source (on your local machine)?
