  • SQL Server varchar to datetime

    - by Dezigo
    I have a field varchar(14) = 20090226115644 I need convert it to - 2009-02-26 11:56:44 (datetime format) My idea. use cast and convert.. but I always have errors. Conversion failed when converting datetime from character string. I made this, but don`t like it.. SELECT SUBSTRING(move,1,4) + '-' + SUBSTRING(move,5,2) + '-' + SUBSTRING(move,7,2) + ' ' + SUBSTRING(move,9,2) + ':' + SUBSTRING(move,11,2) + ':'+SUBSTRING(move,13,2) as new -- FROM [Test].[dbo].[container_events] where move IS not null Result :2009-02-26 11:56:44

  • typical memory usage of an iphone app

    - by climbon
According to Instruments 'Net Bytes' of my app are never more than 2MB yet sometimes I receive memory warning and the app crashes because some views on the stack are unloaded by force. I'd like to know what is the typical memory footprint where system would not send you memory warning and unload the views ? I have so far tried this on OS 3.1.2 on iphone 3GS and 3G and with 3G giving warning almost 80% of the time I test the app on it.

  • High accuracy cpu timers

    - by John Robertson
An expert in highly optimized code once told me that an important part of his strategy was the availability of extremely high performance timers on the CPU. Does anyone know what those are and how one can access them to test various code optimizations? While I am interested regardless, I also wanted to ask whether it is possible to access them from something higher than assembly (or with only a little assembly) via visual studio C++?

  • How can I set a default sort for tables in PHPMyAdmin (i.e. always "Primary key - Descending")

    - by jeremyclarke
Even though its obnoxious in a lot of ways I use PHPMyAdmin all the time to debug database issues while writing PHP. By default it sorts tables by primary key ascending. 99% of the time I would rather have the newest data (my test data) shown at the top by default rather than the useless first few records ever saved. Is there a way to configure PHPMyAdmin to show the newest records by default? To alter similar behavior?

  • Use textbox value on submit as a query string variable

    - by Eric
How would I take a text box value and use it in the query string on submit? I'd like it to start as this, /News?favorites=True and end up something like this after the user enters in a search and clicks search. /News?query=test&favorites=True The controller action looks like this public ActionResult Index(string query, bool favorites) { //search code } This question is something close to what I'd like to do, but I'd like to use the query string and maintain the existing values in the query string. Thanks.

  • Get all revisions from CVS repository

    - by Heinz
Hi, I have set the correct CVS Root, within this root I have a repository which contains a number of files. In particular, I am interested in the revisions of one of the files, lets call it test.tex. Now I would like to get ALL different versions of this file, from the repository. Is there somehow a command that I could use to do that? Or do I need to extract them one after the other? Many thanks!

  • How do I verify my EF4 Code-Only mappings?

    - by Tomas Lycken
In NHibernate, there is a method doing something like ThisOrThat.VeryfyMappings() (I don't know the exact definition of it since it was a while ago I last tried NHibernate...) I recall seeing a blog post somewhere where the author showed how to do some similar testing in Entity Framework 4, but now I cant find it. So, how do I test my EF4 Code-Only mappings?

  • Tips / Resources for building a Google Chrome plugin

    - by David
After test driving Google Chrome for 30 minutes or so, I like it, even if it seems bare-bones at the moment. The obvious way to add a few things I can't live without would be through plugins. Does anyone have any links to resources on how to get started building a plugin/addon for Chrome? Thanks.

  • C# Attributes Aren't Supposed to Inherit

    - by Adam
    Since attributes don't inherit in C# (at least I didn't think they did) - how does the following code still display the Hello popup when the MyTestMethod test is run: [TestClass] public class BaseTestClass { [TestInitialize] public void Foo() { System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox.Show("Hello"); } } [TestClass] public class TestClass : BaseTestClass { [TestMethod] public void MyTestMethod() { Assert.IsTrue(true); } }
