  • Empathy chat limits the number of contacts displayed?

    I'm using Empathy Chat with these accounts: GTalk & Facebook. I just noticed now that from my GTalk friends only 6 appear online (including me) and in reality online are 14 (checked on GMail). And from Facebook it displays 44. So is Empathy Chat limited to display only 50 contacts? I looked through the settings and didn't see anything like this :| The worst part is that I have 1 GTalk contact as Favorite and it's not in the list... Is it a bug? PS: I'm using Ubuntu 10.10

  • problems using evolution Contacts with an DavMail LDAP Proxy for an Exchange server

    i have an davmail proxy setup for accessing an Exchnage 200x server. eMail works fine in Thunderbird and Evolution (IMAP...) LDAP Contacts/Address Book works in TB, but not on Evolution. It seems that Evolution does not try the given credentials. The entered LDAP Auth is never send to the DaVMail Proxy. anonymous access to ou=people forbidden davmail.ui.tray.DavGatewayTray.displayMessage(DavGatewayTray.java:96) It the same conf for TB and in Evolution so i looks like an issue with Evolution to me. Does it take some different cponfig than TB for the credentials? Anybody got this conf workin an can give me some hints? Thanks, WegDamit

  • Evolution has no access to couchdb

    Evolution gives the error "Cannot open addressbook". "We were unable to open this addressbook. This either means you have entered an incorrect URI, or the server is unreachable". "Details: Operation not permitted". (rough translation from Dutch). Enabling verbose logging in (desktop)couchdb tells me roughly the same: [info] [<0.7875.1>] 127.0.0.1 - - 'PUT' /contacts/ 400 [debug] [<0.7875.1>] httpd 400 error response: {"error":"invalid_consumer","reason":"Invalid consumer (key or signature method)."} It seems that evolution tries to fetch the contacts, then couchdb denies access, and then evolution fails to do a proper oauth. This is on Ubuntu 10.10, with its default dektopcouch 1.0.1. Any hints on where to start would be most appreciated :)

  • How to generate SPMetal for a specific list (OOTB: like tasks or contacts) with custom columns

    SPMetal is used to make use of LINQ on a list in SharePoint 2010. By default when you generate SPMetal on a site you will get a code generated file for most of the lists and probably more. Here is a MSDN link for some info on SPMetal.http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee538255(office.14).aspxBut what if you want only to generate the code for one list?Well it is quite simple once you figure it out. You need to add an xml file to override the default settings of SPMetal and specify it in the /parameters option. I will show you how to do this.First create a Folder that will contain two files (GenerateSPMetalCode.bat and SPMetal.xml).Below is the content of the files:GenerateSPMetalCode.bat "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\BIN\SPMetal" /web:http://YourServer /code:OutPutFileName.cs /language:csharp /parameters:SPMetal.xml pause SPMetal.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Web AccessModifier="Internal" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SharePoint/2009/spmetal"> <List Name="ListName"> <ContentType Name="ContentTypeName" Class="GeneratedClassName" /> </List> <ExcludeOtherLists></ExcludeOtherLists> </Web> You will have to change some of the text in the files so that it will be specific to your SharePoint Server Setup. In the SPMetal.xml file you need to change ListName to the name of your list and the ContentTypeName to the name of the content type you want to extract. The GeneratedClassName can be anything but perhaps you should rename it to something more sensible.Adding the following line: '<List Name="ListName"><ContentType Name="ContentTypeName" Class="GeneratedClassName" /> </List>'  makes sure that any custom columns added to an OOTB list like contacts or tasks are also generated, which are missed out in a regular generation.So now when you run it the SPMetal command will read the SPMetal.xml list and override its commands. ExcludeOtherLists element makes it so that only the code for the lists you specify will be generated. For some reason I got an error if I had this element above the List element.You sould now have a code file called OutPutFileName.cs that has been generated. You can now put this in your SharePoint project for use with your LINQ queries against that list.I will soon write a LINQ example that uses the generated class. UPDATE: Add the /namespace parameter to add a namespace to the generated code.   • Cant delete more than 200 contacts in HTC HERO

    I'm working on security application which will copy all contacts to some other database and delete all contacts from phonebook. I'm testing this on android HTC HERO. I'm successful to delete contacts from phonebook and create new contact info database, Till 200 it is working, but after 200 contacts its not working properly. After tht application starts throwing error. There is one Sync with Google Option in MenuSettingData Sync, I think that is creating problem. There is notification that "Too many contacts deleted" n if i click tht there will b a dialog with title "Delete Limit exceeded". Is there anything i can do to stop syncronization or any other ideas by which i can achieve required output? Please Help me on this

  • Outlook keeps forgetting safe sender domains and ignoring contacts

    I get a large number of quite similar emails from a particular address, most of which Outlook 2010 identifies as spam. None of these are actually spam. I have Outlook's junk email proection set to Low, and have told it to trust email from my contacts. I have added the address to my list of safe senders, and I have also tried adding it to my contacts. However: it keeps dropping the address from my safe senders list - I add it, it stays there for a while, but eventually I'll have a legitimate mail identified as spam, and the address will have been dropped from the list. Meanwhile, despite adding that sender to my contacts, it is still classifying their mail as junk. Any ideas of how to fix this?

  • Recently used contacts getting corrupted Outlook 2010

    We are using Microsoft's Identity Integration Feature Pack to sync contacts between two separate domains at two separate branches of our company. Recently we have run into an issue with a few of the contacts being pulled/synced from this remote location. When people in our organizaion are sending emails to certain contacts that are being synced from the remote location, the message delivery fails. After looking into the issue we are seeing that this failure is the result of the email being sent to some obscure email address rather than the correct email address. For example, the email address is getting changed to IMCEAEX_O=NT5_ou=44C5AE1BBEE0ED499F607407769311BB_cn=2F31FA0CA187314FA8D6A99BEFC52C36@domain.com rather than [email protected] Clearing the recently used contact list seems to solve the issue, but it does not solve the underlying problem. Because this issue is starting to happen to several different people I would like to solve the underlying cause. Does anyone have any input on how to start troubleshooting this issue? Also, we are using Exchange 2010. Thank you for taking the time to look at this.

  • Database design grouping contacts by lists and companies

    Hi, I'm wondering what would be the best way to group contacts by their company. Right now a user can group their contacts by custom created lists but I'd like to be able to group contacts by their company as well as store the contact's position (i.e. Project Manager of XYZ company). Database wise this is what I have for grouping contacts into lists contact [id_contact] [int] PK NOT NULL, [lastName] [varchar] (128) NULL, [firstName] [varchar] (128) NULL, ...... contact_list [id_contact] [int] FK, [id_list] [int] FK, list [id_list] [int] PK [id_user] [int] FK [list_name] [varchar] (128) NOT NULL, [description] [TEXT] NULL Should I implement something similar for grouping contacts by company? If so how would I store the contact's position in that company and how can I prevent data corruption if a user modifies a contact's company name. For instance John Doe changed companies but the other co-workers are still in the old company. I doubt that will happen often (might not even happen at all) but better be safe than sorry. I'm also keeping an audit trail so in a way the contact would still need to be linked to the old company as well as the new one but without confusing what company he's actually working at the moment. I hope that made sense... Has anyone encountered such a problem? I looked at Opencontacts.net and i used opencontacts.dll in my asp.net web application but i can't able to make it work... It shows an error Could not load file or assembly 'Utilities, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.....     Currently our environment is migrating from Groupwise 7 to Outlook 2003 and we have multiple users with mission critical outside contacts in their frequent contacts that will have to be imported in Outlook. Currently our only solution is to export GW contacts to a .nab, import to excel to scrub out the contacts in our own domain (to avoid double entry) and convert to .csv. This current solution will require a lot of man hours for hand holding because most of our users are not technically savvy AT ALL and are frankly too busy to do this themselves. Anyone know of any kind of tool or script to assist with this?

  • How do I export Outlook 2003 distribution lists to Gmail?

    I have several distribution lists in Outlook 2003 that I need to move to Gmail. While transferring contacts in the main folder is fairly easy—all one does is export to CSV and import—it's not as easy with the distribution lists. I can't (don't know how to) copy the contacts from the lists to the main contact folder so they can be "normal", and the "save as" options don't include a CSV. There are several of these to do, containing maybe ~100-200 contacts altogether, so I'd like something that's not very tedious.

The other user has assigned many different categories, but I do not get those categories added to the list of categories I can choose from when adding/editing contacts, I can see certain contacts have those categories.
