    By default (at least in my installation), pinned items on the taskbar will be "icon only" when they have no active windows, but when there are active window, the icon expanded to include text (typically some portion of the title text). I'm looking for a way to either: A (preferred option): For any single pinned item, force this pinned item to always display as just the icon even if it has active windows. OR B (acceptable option): Force ALL pinned items to always display as icon only in the taskbar

  • Why is the Active Directory security setting for "Write Personal Information" automatically reset?

    In my Small Business Server 2003 environment, I would like to be able to have users manage their own delegate permissions for their Exchange mailboxes. By default, the Outlook delegate feature will not work unless I go to the user object in Active Directory and grant Allow on "Write Personal Information" to SELF. This will work temporarily, but something seems to reset this value shortly afterword. What would cause this automatic reset?

    I'm using WordPress to manage my site and when the site does a re-direct, it slows down performance. For example, WordPress allows you a single default site, www.mycompany.com. If a user goes to mycompany.com, WP will re-direct it www.mycompany.com. Is there a way to configure WP so that it will listen on both www.mycompany.com and mycompany.com without redirects. The redirects are causing performance hits to the site.

    In windows7 how do I request a new dhcp lease ? What I need in the equivalent of the button "repair" on windows XP. The button "diagnose" seems to do a few things but not request a new dhcp lease if one is already available. Disabling and re-enabling the card does the trick but messes up any program capturing traffic on the interface.

There are a lot of pages online on how to do this using a tool that was hosted at http://workspaces.gotdotnet.com/quotamsgsvc. However, this site has been discontinued, and Microsoft do not appear to have migrated this bit of code over. Does anyone know an alternative option, or where the QuotaMSGSvc might now be found?

    Is there on windows any default timeout for tcp connection? So when no answere is received the connection would be closed. Why im asking is that on one machine the connection is closed afther 5 minutes.(Windows XP) Running the same client - server connection on other machine the connection is kept open forever like it should be. However, there are some apps that I have paid for that are only from the iTunes app store where there is no good alternative on Andriod systems (eg. language learning apps with thousands of words, "references" applications).     Goal: Install firefox and chrome with a default set of bookmarks on Windows 7 x86. The immediate need is for freshly imaged machines to have bookmarks. So I'm looking for an msi /flag or something to either import bookmarks for a file or import settings from IE. Another possibility it seems is push installers/import actions from GPO on the domain. Seems like this might be best since if stuff changes in the future I can update as needed. I'm open to other options as well.

    Does anyone know how I can get YouTube to default to playing music videos in the highest possible quality setting? If for example 480p is available I’d want that automatically selected before the music starts playing. I changed the video playback option to ‘Always choose the best option for me, based on my player size.’ But the quality always defaults to 360p on page load.

    I'm going to be installing Visual Studio 2010. I already have my source code on the SSD. For best performance, especially time to open the solution and compiling time, would it be better to install VS 2010 on the SSD or install it on the HDD. If both were on the SSD, loading the VS 2010 files would be quicker, but there would be contention between loading the source and the program files. Thanks!

We do not usually see these errors. For the moment we cannot change the application. Is there anything we can do to the IIS config which will help to reduce or stop these errors occurring ?     I am trying to run sendmail in tandem with qmail. Presently there is a symlink in the /usr/sbin/ directory pointing to the /var/qmail/sendmail binary. What do I have to change in the qmail configuration if I remove the symlink and rename sendmail.sendmail (I think this is the present name for sendmail's binary) to sendmail so my program can call it. What do I have to do to isolate the two installations aside from selecting a different port in sendmail's configuration?

    I use Rackspace CloudFiles CDN. Apparently the way that Akamai works (company that backs CloudFiles program) is that the mime-type is an image and will force the user to download it - I can still use the image within HTML tags like the <img src="//cdn.com/image.jpg"/> but copying it in the URL or clicking the image will always prompt the download I want to view that image within the browser - this happens with IE, Google Chrome and Firefox.

When I change the mode to windowed via the .ini file, however, it starts the game with the window shoved into the upper left corner of my screen. Clicking the title bar of the window just clicks back into the game program. So how can I move it to the center of my screen? I am using Windows 7 professional 64-bit.
