  • custom domain point to tumblr blog

    My domain mydomain.com is registered with godaddy. I wish to host my tumblr blog on this domain with nearlyfreespeech.net hosting. My active nameservers at godaddy already point to my authoritative ones at NFS.net which is working. However i'm baffled of the correct configuration to set to point to my Tumblr. Preferably id like (A) my domain http://mydomain.com to host the blog and have http://www.mydomain.com redirect also to http://mydomain.com If this is too difficult my next preference is (B) to have http://www.mydomain.com host the blog whilst http://mydomain.com redirects to http://www.mydomain.com My 3rd preference is to have (C) a sub-domain like http://tumblr.mydomain.com or http://tumblr.mydomain.com to host the blog and i guess have http://mydomain.com and http://www.mydomain.com both redirect to it. I've tried having two aliases mydomain.com and www.mydomain.com pointing to my permanent NFS ip at mydomain.nfshost.com and when i try to add: (1) an A record pointing mydomain.com to the ip 66.6.44.4 as per Tumblr's instructions it tells me i already have the bare domain as an alias so i cant do that. (2) the A record on the www.mydomain.com alias. I can do this with either www.mydomain.com set as an alias or not. But when i tried this with mydomain.com set as the canonical name the result when visiting either mydomain.com or www.mydomain.com was them both continually redirecting to eachother until an error was thrown. So i was wondering if there is a ninja that could save me some hairpulling and tell me the correct way to config A, or else B, or else C.

    I would like to add a new Field (Select list of all menu-items) to the menu item-edit form. To do so I was setting up an system plugin with the following directory structure: languageroot/languageroot.php languageroot/form/form.xml As you can see in the posted code, that is all very basic to try out. Only after adding the following lines: <li <?php echo $this-form-getLabel( 'langroot-text', 'main' )? <?php echo $this-form-getInput('langroot-text', 'main' ); ? </li to: /admininstrator/components/com_menus/views/item/tmpl/edit.php a textfield shows up. Is it possible to inject the field without touching the edit.php? Is there anywhere a good tutorial about the JForm api? Is a system-plugin the right kind, or could it be a content plugin, or should it even be a component?

  • Bullet Physics implementing custom MotionState class

    I'm trying to make my engine's camera a kinematic rigid body that can collide into other rigid bodies. I've overridden the btMotionState class and implemented setKinematicPos which updates the motion state's tranform. I use the overridden class when creating my kinematic body, but the collision detection fails. I'm doing this for fun trying to add collision detection and physics to Sean O' Neil's Procedural Universe I referred to the bullet wiki on MotionStates for my CPhysicsMotionState class. If it helps I can add the code for the Planetary rigid bodies, but I didn't want to clutter the post.   • How to map code points to unicode characters depending on the font used?

    The client prints labels and has been using a set of symbolic (?) fonts to do this. The application uses a single byte database (Oracle with Latin-1). The old application I am replacing was not Unicode aware. It somehow did OK. The replacement application I am writing is supposed to handle the old data. The symbols picked from the charmap application often map to particular Unicode characters, but sometimes they don't. What looks like the Moon using the LAB3 font, for example, is in fact U+2014 (EM DASH). When users paste this character into a Swing text field, the character has the code point 8212. It was "moved" into the Private Use Area (by Windows? Java?). When saving this character to the database, Oracle decides that it cannot be safely encoded and replaces it with the dreaded ¿. Thus, I started shifting the characters by 8000: -= 8000 when saving, += 8000 when displaying the field. Unfortunately I discovered that other characters were not shifted by the same amount. In one particular font, for example, ž has the code point 382, so I shifted it by +/-256 to "fix" it. By now I'm dreading the discovery of more strange offsets and I wonder: Can I get at this mapping using Java? Perhaps the TTF font has a list of the 255 glyphs it encodes and what Unicode characters those correspond to and I can do it "right"?   • Tumblr Custom URL Not Working

    I have bought a domain that I want to use as a unique Tumblr website but I can't get the url to pick up on Tumblr settings. The domain is a .com registered with 123-reg. I've set the CNAME to the correct tumblr url and also set the A record too. When I visit the url I get the Tumblr error page so I know that the domain is pointing, however when I go to settings in Tumblr and "Test" the url it says that it's not pointing and I can't save it. What could be the problem?

    I have a little problem with the icon in lwjgl, it doesn't work. I google about it, but i haven't found anything that works for me yet. "No se ha creado el icono" : "Se ha creado el icono"); The png file is a 128x128px with transparency. PNGDecoder is from the matthiasmann utility (de.matthiasmann.twl.utils).     I had the following situation: main application has app.xaml, which sets the style for TextBox controls a custom control is implemented in a separate DLL, and uses several TextBox controls The main application's TextBox style is applied to the custom control's TextBox controls. Cool! My problem comes in because I need to use a class derived from TextBox in the custom control. Now the main app's TextBox style is no longer applied. Can the custom control DLL have something like "app.xaml" where I can set the style for all my derived TextBox controls? Or can the main application somehow set the style for all TextBox-derived classes? Thanks!

  • Reinstall Ubuntu on Custom Partitions

    I am attempting to reinstall ubuntu 13.04 without losing my installed software and /home docs. I have read countless threads on this same topic, but nothing seems to apply to my situation. When I originally installed, I had created a separate partition for /home, but I am now unsure of which partition that was. Based on the picture below, where should I be installing the new copy? Also, will I run into problems since I am now running 13.10 and want to put 13.04 back on it? Should I grab 12.04 or 13.10 for this reinstall?   • Custom page sizes in paging dropdown in Telerik RadGrid

    Working with Telerik RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX is actually quite easy and the initial effort to get started with the control suite is very low. Meaning that you can easily get good result with little time. But there are usually cases where you have to go a little further and dig a little bit deeper than the standard scenarios. In this article I am going to describe how you can customize the default values (10, 20 and 50) of the drop-down list in the paging element of RadGrid. Get control over the displayed page sizes while using numeric paging... The default page sizes are good but not always good enough The paging feature in RadGrid offers you 3, well actually 4, possible page sizes in the drop-down element out-of-the box, which are 10, 20 or 50 items. You can get a fourth option by specifying a value different than the three standards for the PageSize attribute, ie. 35 or 100. The drawback in that case is that it is the initial page size. Certainly, the available choices could be more flexible or even a little bit more intelligent. For example, by taking the total count of records into consideration. There are some interesting scenarios that would justify a customized page size element: A low number of records, like 14 or similar shouldn't provide a page size of 50, A high total count of records (ie: 300+) should offer more choices, ie: 100, 200, 500, or display of all records regardless of number of records I am sure that you might have your own requirements, and I hope that the following source code snippets might be helpful. Wiring the ItemCreated event In order to adjust and manipulate the existing RadComboBox in the paging element we have to handle the OnItemCreated event of RadGrid. To keep the actual modification and exposure of possible page size values flexible I am filling a Dictionary with the requested 'key/value'-pairs based on the number of total records displayed in the grid. As a final step, ensure that the previously selected value is the active one using the FindItemByValue() method. Of course, there might be different requirements but I hope that the snippet above provide a first insight into customized page size value in Telerik's Grid. The Grid demos describe a more advanced approach to customize the Pager.
