  • C# 4.0 'dynamic' and foreach statement

    - by ControlFlow
    Not long time before I've discovered, that new dynamic keyword doesn't work well with the C#'s foreach statement: using System; sealed class Foo { public struct FooEnumerator { int value; public bool MoveNext() { return true; } public int Current { get { return value++; } } } public FooEnumerator GetEnumerator() { return new FooEnumerator(); } static void Main() { foreach (int x in new Foo()) { Console.WriteLine(x); if (x >= 100) break; } foreach (int x in (dynamic)new Foo()) { // :) Console.WriteLine(x); if (x >= 100) break; } } } I've expected that iterating over the dynamic variable should work completely as if the type of collection variable is known at compile time. I've discovered that the second loop actually is looked like this when is compiled: foreach (object x in (IEnumerable) /* dynamic cast */ (object) new Foo()) { ... } and every access to the x variable results with the dynamic lookup/cast so C# ignores that I've specify the correct x's type in the foreach statement - that was a bit surprising for me... And also, C# compiler completely ignores that collection from dynamically typed variable may implements IEnumerable<T> interface! The full foreach statement behavior is described in the C# 4.0 specification 8.8.4 The foreach statement article. But... It's perfectly possible to implement the same behavior at runtime! It's possible to add an extra CSharpBinderFlags.ForEachCast flag, correct the emmited code to looks like: foreach (int x in (IEnumerable<int>) /* dynamic cast with the CSharpBinderFlags.ForEachCast flag */ (object) new Foo()) { ... } And add some extra logic to CSharpConvertBinder: Wrap IEnumerable collections and IEnumerator's to IEnumerable<T>/IEnumerator<T>. Wrap collections doesn't implementing Ienumerable<T>/IEnumerator<T> to implement this interfaces. So today foreach statement iterates over dynamic completely different from iterating over statically known collection variable and completely ignores the type information, specified by user. All that results with the different iteration behavior (IEnumarble<T>-implementing collections is being iterated as only IEnumerable-implementing) and more than 150x slowdown when iterating over dynamic. Simple fix will results a much better performance: foreach (int x in (IEnumerable<int>) dynamicVariable) { But why I should write code like this? It's very nicely to see that sometimes C# 4.0 dynamic works completely the same if the type will be known at compile-time, but it's very sadly to see that dynamic works completely different where IT CAN works the same as statically typed code. So my question is: why foreach over dynamic works different from foreach over anything else?

  • SharpPcap - A Packet Capture retring seding messesge problem.

    I trying to capture packets using SharpPcap library. I'm able to return the packets details but I'm having problem to get what the message content inside the packet. the packet using .Data to return the message and when I use it it is returning (System.Byte[]). here is the library website: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/IP/sharppcap.aspx here is my code: string packetData; private void packetCapturingThreadMethod() { Packet packet = null; int countOfPacketCaptures = 0; while ((packet = device.GetNextPacket()) != null) { packet = device.GetNextPacket(); if (packet is TCPPacket) { TCPPacket tcp = (TCPPacket)packet; myPacket tempPacket = new myPacket(); tempPacket.packetType = "TCP"; tempPacket.sourceAddress = Convert.ToString(tcp.SourceAddress); tempPacket.destinationAddress = Convert.ToString(tcp.DestinationAddress); tempPacket.sourcePort = Convert.ToString(tcp.SourcePort); tempPacket.destinationPort = Convert.ToString(tcp.DestinationPort); tempPacket.packetMessage = Convert.ToString(tcp.Data); packetsList.Add(tempPacket); packetData = "Type= TCP" + " Source Address = "+ Convert.ToString(tcp.SourceAddress)+ " Destination Address =" +Convert.ToString(tcp.DestinationAddress)+ " SourcePort =" + Convert.ToString(tcp.SourcePort)+ " SourcePort =" +Convert.ToString(tcp.DestinationPort)+ " Messeage =" + Convert.ToString(tcp.Data); txtpackets.Invoke(new UpdatetxtpacketsCallback(this.Updatetxtpackets), new object[] { packetData }); string[] row = { packetsList[countOfPacketCaptures].packetType, packetsList[countOfPacketCaptures].sourceAddress, packetsList[countOfPacketCaptures].destinationAddress, packetsList[countOfPacketCaptures].sourcePort, packetsList[countOfPacketCaptures].destinationPort, packetsList[countOfPacketCaptures].packetMessage }; try { //dgwPacketInfo.Rows.Add(row); countOfPacketCaptures++; //lblCapturesLabels.Text = Convert.ToString(countOfPacketCaptures); } catch (Exception e) { } } else if (packet is UDPPacket) { UDPPacket udp = (UDPPacket)packet; myPacket tempPacket = new myPacket(); tempPacket.packetType = "UDP"; tempPacket.sourceAddress = Convert.ToString(udp.SourceAddress); tempPacket.destinationAddress = Convert.ToString(udp.DestinationAddress); tempPacket.sourcePort = Convert.ToString(udp.SourcePort); tempPacket.destinationPort = Convert.ToString(udp.DestinationPort); tempPacket.packetMessage = udp.Data.ToArray() + "\n"; packetsList.Add(tempPacket); packetData = "Type= UDP" + " Source Address = "+ Convert.ToString(udp.SourceAddress)+ " Destination Address =" +Convert.ToString(udp.DestinationAddress)+ " SourcePort =" + Convert.ToString(udp.SourcePort)+ " SourcePort =" +Convert.ToString(udp.DestinationPort)+ " Messeage =" + udp.Data.ToArray() + "\n"; string[] row = { packetsList[countOfPacketCaptures].packetType, packetsList[countOfPacketCaptures].sourceAddress, packetsList[countOfPacketCaptures].destinationAddress, packetsList[countOfPacketCaptures].sourcePort, packetsList[countOfPacketCaptures].destinationPort, packetsList[countOfPacketCaptures].packetMessage }; try { //dgwPacketInfo.Rows.Add(row); //countOfPacketCaptures++; //lblCapturesLabels.Text = Convert.ToString(countOfPacketCaptures); txtpackets.Invoke(new UpdatetxtpacketsCallback(this.Updatetxtpackets), new object[] { packetData }); } catch (Exception e) { } } } }

  • Opposite method of math power adding numbers

    - by adopilot
    I have method for converting array of Booleans to integer. It looks like this class Program { public static int GivMeInt(bool[] outputs) { int data = 0; for (int i = 0; i < 8; i++) { data += ((outputs[i] == true) ? Convert.ToInt32(Math.Pow(2, i)) : 0); } return data; } static void Main(string[] args) { bool[] outputs = new bool[8]; outputs[0] = false; outputs[1] = true; outputs[2] = false; outputs[3] = true; outputs[4] = false; outputs[5] = false; outputs[6] = false; outputs[7] = false; int data = GivMeInt(outputs); Console.WriteLine(data); Console.ReadKey(); } } Now I want to make opposite method returning array of Booleans values As I am short with knowledge of .NET and C# until now I have only my mind hardcoding of switch statement or if conditions for every possible int value. public static bool[] GiveMeBool(int data) { bool[] outputs = new bool[8]; if (data == 0) { outputs[0] = false; outputs[1] = false; outputs[2] = false; outputs[3] = false; outputs[4] = false; outputs[5] = false; outputs[6] = false; outputs[7] = false; } //After thousand lines of coed if (data == 255) { outputs[0] = true; outputs[1] = true; outputs[2] = true; outputs[3] = true; outputs[4] = true; outputs[5] = true; outputs[6] = true; outputs[7] = true; } return outputs; } I know that there must be easier way.

  • PopulateOnDemand does not work on data bound ASP.Net TreeView

    - by Shay Friedman
    Hi, I have a TreeView that is bound to a XmlDataSource control. I've added some TreeNodeBinding elements to define how I want the XML data to be shown. I have also added PopulateOnDemand=true to these TreeNodeBindings. However, doing so didn't change a thing and the entire XML tree is displayed. Moreover, the TreeNodePopulate event is not fired on node expand as well. Important information: I'm using ASP.NET 4. This is an example that reproduces the problem (very straight forward): <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" %> <script type="text/C#" runat="server"> protected void TreeView1_TreeNodePopulate(Object sender, TreeNodeEventArgs e) { // This method is never called... } </script> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head runat="server"> <title></title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div> <asp:TreeView ID="TreeView1" runat="server" DataSourceID="XmlDataSource1" OnTreeNodePopulate="TreeView1_TreeNodePopulate" ExpandDepth="0"> <DataBindings> <asp:TreeNodeBinding DataMember="#" TextField="#" ValueField="#" PopulateOnDemand="true" /> </DataBindings> </asp:TreeView> <asp:XmlDataSource ID="XmlDataSource1" runat="server" DataFile="Sample.xml" /> </div> </form> </body> </html> The Sample.xml can be any xml file you want, it doesn't really matter. I tried to put a breakpoint within the TreeView1_TreeNodePopulate method and it was never hit. I also tried to: Set a TreeNodeBinding for each possible data member with PopulateOnDemand="true". Via code, go through all tree nodes and set their PopulateOnDemand property to true. Nothing worked. The only way the populate-on-demand thing worked was when I added nodes manually to the nodes instead of binding it to a data source. What am I doing wrong?

  • Android - Display HTML Formatted String

    - by Soren
    I need an example of how to display the strings that I have marked up with simple html into a TextView. I have found "Spanned fromHtml(String source)", but I don't know how to plug it into my java code. Here is my Java: package com.SorenWinslow.TriumphHistory; import android.app.ListActivity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.widget.ArrayAdapter; public class TriumphHistory extends ListActivity { String[] HistoryList; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); ArrayAdapter<String> adapter; HistoryList = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.history); adapter = new ArrayAdapter<String> (this,R.layout.historylistlayout,HistoryList); setListAdapter(adapter); } } Here is a sample of history: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <resources> <string-array name="history"> <item><b>1883</b><br/>Some stuff happened</item> <item><b>1884</b><br/>Some more stuff happened <i>before</i> the other stuff </item> <resources> Here is my historylistlayout.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <TextView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@android:id/text1" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:textAppearance="?android:attr/textAppearanceLarge" android:gravity="center_vertical" android:textColor="#ffffff" android:background="#000050" android:layout_marginTop="5px" android:minHeight="?android:attr/listPreferredItemHeight" android:padding="3px" android:textSize="8pt" android:layout_gravity="top|left"/> And here is my main.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:textColor="#ffffff" android:background="#000080" android:isScrollContainer="true" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:scrollbarStyle="insideOverlay"> <ListView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@android:id/list" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:clickable="true" android:dividerHeight="1px"/> </LinearLayout>

  • Android: manifest targetSdkVersion change resulted in: icon not visible, widget no longer works, and

    - by Casey
    I recently upgraded my Android app to support multiple resolutions. Previously, my Android.manifest file had a line: To support multiple density and resolution devices, I changed this to: <supports-screens android:smallScreens="false" android:normalScreens="true" android:largeScreens="true" android:anyDensity="true" /> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="3" android:targetSdkVersion="4" /> I then added a couple of new directories, like drawable-hdpi-v4 and drawable-long-hdpi-v4 that includes the high-res versions of the graphics. That's about it. Ever since releasing this update, there have been a decent number of users complaining about various problems: - the app icon doesn't appear (I did not create a high res version of the icon) - the home screen widget no longer works, even if they delete and re-add it (this code did not change with the update). I've had a user send me their error log, which shows: 03-19 20:59:41.617 W/ActivityManager( 1854): Unable to launch app com.alt12.babybump/10078 for broadcast Intent { action=android.appwidget.action.APPWIDGET_UPDATE flags=0x4 comp={com.alt12.babybump/com.alt12.babybump.WidgetGirl} (has extras) }: process is bad There is one questionable section in my existing widget code that may be relevant: @Override public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { // v1.5 fix that doesn't call onDelete Action final String action = intent.getAction(); if (AppWidgetManager.ACTION_APPWIDGET_DELETED.equals(action)) { final int appWidgetId = intent.getExtras().getInt( AppWidgetManager.EXTRA_APPWIDGET_ID, AppWidgetManager.INVALID_APPWIDGET_ID); if (appWidgetId != AppWidgetManager.INVALID_APPWIDGET_ID) { this.onDeleted(context, new int[] { appWidgetId }); } } else { super.onReceive(context, intent); } } And perhaps most troublesome: the sqlite database is no longer accessible/writeable for some users so their data is no longer available. I did add the WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission to the manifest. This is only happening to certain users and it tends to be HTC Eris users. In that error log I see things such as: 03-19 16:00:56.173 E/FlurryAgent( 4791): java.io.FileNotFoundException: /data/data/com.alt12.babybump/files/.flurryagent.-2333f5cb 03-19 16:00:56.173 E/FlurryAgent( 4791): at org.apache.harmony.luni.platform.OSFileSystem.open(OSFileSystem.java:231) 03-19 16:01:09.393 E/Database( 4791): sqlite3_open_v2("/data/data/com.alt12.babybump/databases/uitematmamad.db", &handle, 6, NULL) failed 03-19 16:01:09.393 W/System.err( 4791): android.database.sqlite.SQLiteException: unable to open database file It's as if the update has caused a new process and it can't access the old process's data, or something. Any help appreciated!

  • Import problem with PyCrypto in Jython

    Hello, I am currently trying to get python bittorrent tracker running inside of jython and i encountered this problem: the tracker uses PyCrypto library which i compiled for my platform and added into the python path. • Zoom to fit region for all annotations - ending up zooming in between annotations

    Hey everybody!! I have a problem with fitting all my annotations to the screen... sometimes it shows all annotations, but some other times the app is zooming in between the two annotations so that none of them are visible... • Search Display Controller Crashes When Returning Results

    - by Convolution
    I have a tableview with a search display controller. It has been working fine in the past, but recently has started crashing for certain search results. Here my code searches a Golfer based on their Name, Age and Handicap. The data is correctly loaded into the table, I can access and drill down to receive further information. However when I type in a search query for either Name or Age, the app crashes, while the Golfers Handicap is returned fine. Note: dataSouceArray is the data source for the tableview, dataSourceArrayCopy is the mutable copy of the data used to add and remove objects in the search filter. - (void)filterContentForSearchText:(NSString*)searchText scope:(NSString*)scope { /* Update the filtered array based on the search text and scope. */ [self.dataSourceArrayCopy removeAllObjects]; // First clear the filtered array. /* Search the main list for products whose type matches the scope (if selected) and whose name matches searchText; add items that match to the filtered array. */ for (Golfer *golfer in dataSourceArray) { if ([scope isEqualToString:@"Name"] || [golfer.golferName isEqualToString:scope]) { NSComparisonResult result = [golfer.golferName compare:searchText options:(NSCaseInsensitiveSearch|NSDiacriticInsensitiveSearch) range:NSMakeRange(0, [searchText length])]; if (result == NSOrderedSame) { [self.customerListCopy addObject:golfer]; } } if ([scope isEqualToString:@"Age"] || [golfer.golferAge isEqualToString:scope]) { NSComparisonResult result = [golfer.golferAge compare:searchText options:(NSCaseInsensitiveSearch|NSDiacriticInsensitiveSearch) range:NSMakeRange(0, [searchText length])]; if (result == NSOrderedSame) { [self.dataSourceArrayCopy addObject:golfer]; } } if ([scope isEqualToString:@"Handicap"] || [golfer.golferHandicap isEqualToString:scope]) { NSComparisonResult result = [golfer.golferHandicap compare:searchText options:(NSCaseInsensitiveSearch|NSDiacriticInsensitiveSearch) range:NSMakeRange(0, [searchText length])]; if (result == NSOrderedSame) { [self.dataSourceArrayCopy addObject:golfer]; } } } } - (BOOL)searchDisplayController:(UISearchDisplayController *)controller shouldReloadTableForSearchString:(NSString *)searchString { [self filterContentForSearchText:searchString scope: [[self.searchDisplayController.searchBar scopeButtonTitles] objectAtIndex:[self.searchDisplayController.searchBar selectedScopeButtonIndex]]]; // Return YES to cause the search result table view to be reloaded. return YES; } - (BOOL)searchDisplayController:(UISearchDisplayController *)controller shouldReloadTableForSearchScope:(NSInteger)searchOption { [self filterContentForSearchText:[self.searchDisplayController.searchBar text] scope: [[self.searchDisplayController.searchBar scopeButtonTitles] objectAtIndex:searchOption]]; // Return YES to cause the search result table view to be reloaded. return YES; } Any help would be appreciated, thank you for taking the time to read this.

    I am trying to compile this simple program with android-ndk-r8b: jni/hello_jni.cpp #include <iostream> #include <thread> void hello() { std::cout << "Hi i'm a thread!!!" << std::endl; } int main() { std::thread th(hello); th.join(); return 0; } jni/Application.mk APP_OPTIM := release APP_MODULES := hello_thread APP_STL := gnustl_static jni/Android.mk LOCAL_PATH := $(call my-dir) include $(CLEAR_VARS) LOCAL_CPPFLAGS += -std=c++0x -frtti LOCAL_MODULE := hello_thread LOCAL_LDLIBS := -L$(SYSROOT)/usr/lib -pthread LOCAL_SRC_FILES := hello_thread.cpp include $(BUILD_EXECUTABLE) ndk-build returns me an error arguin that 'thread' is not a member of 'std'. I issued ndk-build -n to get the compilation command and issued it alone in my shell: /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/toolchains/arm-linux-androideabi-4.6/prebuilt/linux-x86/bin/arm-linux-androideabi-g++ -MMD -MP -MF /home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/obj/local/armeabi/objs/hello_thread/hello_thread.o.d -fpic -ffunction-sections -funwind-tables -fstack-protector -D__ARM_ARCH_5__ -D__ARM_ARCH_5T__ -D__ARM_ARCH_5E__ -D__ARM_ARCH_5TE__ -march=armv5te -mtune=xscale -msoft-float -fno-exceptions -fno-rtti -mthumb -Os -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-strict-aliasing -finline-limit=64 -I/home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/include -I/home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/libs/armeabi/include -I/home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/jni -DANDROID -Wa,--noexecstack -std=c++0x -frtti -O2 -DNDEBUG -g -I/home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/platforms/android-14/arch-arm/usr/include -c /home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/jni/hello_thread.cpp -o /home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/obj/local/armeabi/objs/hello_thread/hello_thread.o Compile++ thumb : hello_thread <= hello_thread.cpp In file included from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/platforms/android-14/arch-arm/usr/include/stdio.h:55:0, from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/platforms/android-14/arch-arm/usr/include/wchar.h:33, from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/include/cwchar:46, from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/include/bits/postypes.h:42, from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/include/iosfwd:42, from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/include/ios:39, from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/include/ostream:40, from /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/sources/cxx-stl/gnu-libstdc++/4.6/include/iostream:40, from jni/hello_thread.cpp:4: /home/evigier/android-ndk-r8b/platforms/android-14/arch-arm/usr/include/sys/types.h:124:9: error: 'uint64_t' does not name a type /home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/jni/hello_thread.cpp: In function 'int main()': /home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/jni/hello_thread.cpp:14:5: error: 'thread' is not a member of 'std' /home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/jni/hello_thread.cpp:14:17: error: expected ';' before 'th' /home/evigier/eclipse_workspace/hello_thread/jni/hello_thread.cpp:15:5: error: 'th' was not declared in this scope I read a lot of threads/questions about POSIX threads and C++ threads, but still cannot find my answer. My arm-linux-androideabi/include/c++/4.6/thread file defines class thread in std only: #if defined(_GLIBCXX_HAS_GTHREADS) && defined(_GLIBCXX_USE_C99_STDINT_TR1) They don't seem to be defined in my sdk (c++config.h). But how can I possibly turn them on safely? Do i need to compile my own toolchain to use (non-p)threads?   • UITableViewCell rounded corners and clip subviews

    - by Brenden
    I can't find anything anywhere(search engines, docs, here, etc) that shows how to create rounded corners (esp. in a grouped table view) on an element that also clips the subviews. I have code that properly creates a rounded rectangle out of a path with 4 arcs(the rounded corners) that has been tested in the drawRect: method in my subclassed uitableviewcell. The issue is that the subviews, which happen to be uibuttons with their internal uiimageviews, do no obey the CGContextClip() that the uitableviewcell obeys. Here is the code: - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); CGFloat radius = 12; CGFloat width = CGRectGetWidth(rect); CGFloat height = CGRectGetHeight(rect); // Make sure corner radius isn't larger than half the shorter side if (radius > width/2.0) radius = width/2.0; if (radius > height/2.0) radius = height/2.0; CGFloat minx = CGRectGetMinX(rect) + 10; CGFloat midx = CGRectGetMidX(rect); CGFloat maxx = CGRectGetMaxX(rect) - 10; CGFloat miny = CGRectGetMinY(rect); CGFloat midy = CGRectGetMidY(rect); CGFloat maxy = CGRectGetMaxY(rect); [[UIColor greenColor] set]; CGContextBeginPath(context); CGContextMoveToPoint(context, minx, midy); CGContextAddArcToPoint(context, minx, miny, midx, miny, radius); CGContextAddArcToPoint(context, maxx, miny, maxx, midy, radius); CGContextAddArcToPoint(context, maxx, maxy, midx, maxy, radius); CGContextAddArcToPoint(context, minx, maxy, minx, midy, radius); CGContextClip(context); CGContextFillRect(context, rect); [super drawRect:rect]; } Because this specific case is static(only shows in 1 specific row of buttons), I can edit the images being used for the buttons to get the desired effect. HOWEVER, I have another case that is dynamic. Specifically, a grouped table with lots of database-driven results that will show photos that may be in the first or last row with rounded corners and thus needs to be clipped). So, is it possible to create a CGContextClip() that also clips the subviews? If so, how?

  • How to update a user created Bitmap in the Windows API

    - by gamernb
    In my code I quickly generate images on the fly, and I want to display them as quickly as possible. So the first time I create my image, I create a new BITMAP, but instead of deleting the old one and creating a new one for every subsequent image, I just want to copy my data back into the existing one. Here is my code to do both the initial creation and the updating. The creation works just fine, but the updating one doesn't work. BITMAPINFO bi; HBITMAP Frame::CreateBitmap(HWND hwnd, int tol1, int tol2, bool useWhite, bool useBackground) { ZeroMemory(&bi.bmiHeader, sizeof(BITMAPINFOHEADER)); bi.bmiHeader.biSize = sizeof(BITMAPINFOHEADER); bi.bmiHeader.biWidth = width; bi.bmiHeader.biHeight = height; bi.bmiHeader.biPlanes = 1; bi.bmiHeader.biBitCount = 24; bi.bmiHeader.biCompression = BI_RGB; ZeroMemory(bi.bmiColors, sizeof(RGBQUAD)); // Allocate memory for bitmap bits int size = height * width; Pixel* newPixels = new Pixel[size]; // Recompute the output //memcpy(newPixels, pixels, size*3); ComputeOutput(newPixels, tol1, tol2, useWhite, useBackground); HBITMAP bitmap = CreateDIBitmap(GetDC(hwnd), &bi.bmiHeader, CBM_INIT, newPixels, &bi, DIB_RGB_COLORS); delete newPixels; return bitmap; } and void Frame::UpdateBitmap(HWND hwnd, HBITMAP bitmap, int tol1, int tol2, bool useWhite, bool useBackground) { ZeroMemory(&bi.bmiHeader, sizeof(BITMAPINFOHEADER)); bi.bmiHeader.biSize = sizeof(BITMAPINFOHEADER); HDC hdc = GetDC(hwnd); if(!GetDIBits(hdc, bitmap, 0, bi.bmiHeader.biHeight, NULL, &bi, DIB_RGB_COLORS)) MessageBox(NULL, "Can't get base image info!", "Error!", MB_ICONEXCLAMATION | MB_OK); // Allocate memory for bitmap bits int size = height * width; Pixel* newPixels = new Pixel[size]; // Recompute the output //memcpy(newPixels, pixels, size*3); ComputeOutput(newPixels, tol1, tol2, useWhite, useBackground); // Push back to windows if(!SetDIBits(hdc, bitmap, 0, bi.bmiHeader.biHeight, newPixels, &bi, DIB_RGB_COLORS)) MessageBox(NULL, "Can't set pixel data!", "Error!", MB_ICONEXCLAMATION | MB_OK); delete newPixels; } where the Pixel struct is just this: struct Pixel { unsigned char b, g, r; }; Why does my update function not work. I always get the MessageBox for "Can't set pixel data!" I used code similar to this when I was loading in the original bitmap from file, then editing the data, but now when I manually create it, it doesn't work.

  • How can I reliably check client identity whilst making DCOM calls to a C# .Net 3.5 Server?

    - by pionium
    Hi, I have an old Win32 C++ DCOM Server that I am rewriting to use C# .Net 3.5. The client applications sit on remote XP machines and are also written in C++. These clients must remain unchanged, hence I must implement the interfaces on new .Net objects. This has been done, and is working successfully regarding the implementation of the interfaces, and all of the calls are correctly being made from the old clients to the new .Net objects. However, I'm having problems obtaining the identity of the calling user from the DCOM Client. In order to try to identify the user who instigated the DCOM call, I have the following code on the server... [DllImport("ole32.dll")] static extern int CoImpersonateClient(); [DllImport("ole32.dll")] static extern int CoRevertToSelf(); private string CallingUser { get { string sCallingUser = null; if (CoImpersonateClient() == 0) { WindowsPrincipal wp = System.Threading.Thread.CurrentPrincipal as WindowsPrincipal; if (wp != null) { WindowsIdentity wi = wp.Identity as WindowsIdentity; if (wi != null && !string.IsNullOrEmpty(wi.Name)) sCallingUser = wi.Name; } if (CoRevertToSelf() != 0) ReportWin32Error("CoRevertToSelf"); } else ReportWin32Error("CoImpersonateClient"); return sCallingUser; } } private static void ReportWin32Error(string sFailingCall) { Win32Exception ex = new Win32Exception(); Logger.Write("Call to " + sFailingCall + " FAILED: " + ex.Message); } When I get the CallingUser property, the value returned the first few times is correct and the correct user name is identified, however, after 3 or 4 different users have successfully made calls (and it varies, so I can't be more specific), further users seem to be identified as users who had made earlier calls. What I have noticed is that the first few users have their DCOM calls handled on their own thread (ie all calls from a particular client are handled by a single unique thread), and then subsequent users are being handled by the same threads as the earlier users, and after the call to CoImpersonateClient(), the CurrentPrincipal matches that of the initial user of that thread. To Illustrate: User Tom makes DCOM calls which are handled by thread 1 (CurrentPrincipal correctly identifies Tom) User Dick makes DCOM calls which are handled by thread 2 (CurrentPrincipal correctly identifies Dick) User Harry makes DCOM calls which are handled by thread 3 (CurrentPrincipal correctly identifies Harry) User Bob makes DCOM calls which are handled by thread 3 (CurrentPrincipal incorrectly identifies him as Harry) As you can see in this illustration, calls from clients Harry and Bob are being handled on thread 3, and the server is identifying the calling client as Harry. Is there something that I am doing wrong? Are there any caveats or restrictions on using Impersonations in this way? Is there a better or different way that I can RELIABLY achieve what I am trying to do? All help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Andrew

  • Using Microsoft.Office.Interop to save created file with C#

    - by Eyla
    I have the this code that will create excel file and work sheet then insert same values. The problem I'm facing that I'm not able to save the file with name giving ten colse it. I used SaveAs but did not work: wb.SaveAs(@"C:\mymytest.xlsx", missing, missing, missing, missing, missing, XlSaveAsAccessMode.xlExclusive, missing, missing, missing, missing, missing); this line of code would give me this error: Microsoft Office Excel cannot access the file 'C:\A3195000'. There are several possible reasons: • The file name or path does not exist. • The file is being used by another program. • The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook. please advice to solve this problem. here is my code: private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application xlApp = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application(); if (xlApp == null) { MessageBox.Show("EXCEL could not be started. Check that your office installation and project references are correct."); return; } xlApp.Visible = true; Workbook wb = xlApp.Workbooks.Add(XlWBATemplate.xlWBATWorksheet); Worksheet ws = (Worksheet)wb.Worksheets[1]; if (ws == null) { MessageBox.Show("Worksheet could not be created. • Keeping the DI-container usage in the composition root in Silverlight and MVVM

    - by adrian hara
    It's not quite clear to me how I can design so I keep the reference to the DI-container in the composition root for a Silverlight + MVVM application. I have the following simple usage scenario: there's a main view (perhaps a list of items) and an action to open an edit view for one single item. So the main view has to create and show the edit view when the user takes the action (e.g. clicks some button). For this I have the following code: public interface IView { IViewModel ViewModel {get; set;} } Then, for each view that I need to be able to create I have an abstract factory, like so public interface ISomeViewFactory { IView CreateView(); } This factory is then declared a dependency of the "parent" view model, like so: public class SomeParentViewModel { public SomeParentViewModel(ISomeViewFactory viewFactory) { // store it } private void OnSomeUserAction() { IView view = viewFactory.CreateView(); dialogService.ShowDialog(view); } } So all is well until here, no DI-container in sight :). Now comes the implementation of ISomeViewFactory: public class SomeViewFactory : ISomeViewFactory { public IView CreateView() { IView view = new SomeView(); view.ViewModel = ???? } } The "????" part is my problem, because the view model for the view needs to be resolved from the DI-container so it gets its dependencies injected. What I don't know is how I can do this without having a dependency to the DI-container anywhere except the composition root. One possible solution would be to have either a dependency on the view model that gets injected into the factory, like so: public class SomeViewFactory : ISomeViewFactory { public SomeViewFactory(ISomeViewModel viewModel) { // store it } public IView CreateView() { IView view = new SomeView(); view.ViewModel = viewModel; } } While this works, it has the problem that since the whole object graph is wired up "statically" (i.e. the "parent" view model will get an instance of SomeViewFactory, which will get an instance of SomeViewModel, and these will live as long as the "parent" view model lives), the injected view model implementation is stateful and if the user opens the child view twice, the second time the view model will be the same instance and have the state from before. I guess I could work around this with an "Initialize" method or something similar, but it doesn't smell quite right. Another solution might be to wrap the DI-container and have the factories depend on the wrapper, but it'd still be a DI-container "in disguise" there :) Any thoughts on this are greatly appreciated. Also, please forgive any mistakes or rule-breaking, since this is my first post on stackoverflow :) Thanks! ps: my current solution is that the factories know about the DI-container, and it's only them and the composition root that have this dependency.

  • Attempting to extract a pattern within a string

    - by Brian
    I'm attempting to extract a given pattern within a text file, however, the results are not 100% what I want. Here's my code: import java.util.regex.Matcher; import java.util.regex.Pattern; public class ParseText1 { public static void main(String[] args) { String content = "<p>Yada yada yada <code> foo ddd</code>yada yada ...\n" + "more here <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe> etc etc\n" + "more here again <2004-09-24> bar<Bob Joe> <Fred Kej> etc etc\n" + "more here again <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe><Fred Kej> etc etc\n" + "and still more <2004-08-21><2004-08-21> baz <John Doe> and now <code>the end</code> </p>\n"; Pattern p = Pattern .compile("<[1234567890]{4}-[1234567890]{2}-[1234567890]{2}>.*?<[^%0-9/]*>", Pattern.MULTILINE); Matcher m = p.matcher(content); // print all the matches that we find while (m.find()) { System.out.println(m.group()); } } } The output I'm getting is: <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe> <2004-09-24> bar<Bob Joe> <Fred Kej> <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe><Fred Kej> <2004-08-21><2004-08-21> baz <John Doe> and now <code> The output I want is: <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe> <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe> <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe> <2004-08-21> baz <John Doe> In short, the sequence of "date", "text (or blank)", and "name" must be extracted. Everything else should be avoided. For example the tag "Fred Kej" did not have any "date" tag before it, therefore, it should be flagged as invalid. Also, as a side question, is there a way to store or track the text snippets that were skipped/rejected as were the valid texts. Thanks, Brian

  • Objective-C wrapper API design methodology

    - by Wade Williams
    I know there's no one answer to this question, but I'd like to get people's thoughts on how they would approach the situation. I'm writing an Objective-C wrapper to a C library. My goals are: 1) The wrapper use Objective-C objects. For example, if the C API defines a parameter such as char *name, the Objective-C API should use name:(NSString *). 2) The client using the Objective-C wrapper should not have to have knowledge of the inner-workings of the C library. Speed is not really any issue. That's all easy with simple parameters. It's certainly no problem to take in an NSString and convert it to a C string to pass it to the C library. My indecision comes in when complex structures are involved. Let's say you have: struct flow { long direction; long speed; long disruption; long start; long stop; } flow_t; And then your C API call is: void setFlows(flow_t inFlows[4]); So, some of the choices are: 1) expose the flow_t structure to the client and have the Objective-C API take an array of those structures 2) build an NSArray of four NSDictionaries containing the properties and pass that as a parameter 3) create an NSArray of four "Flow" objects containing the structure's properties and pass that as a parameter My analysis of the approaches: Approach 1: Easiest. However, it doesn't meet the design goals Approach 2: For some reason, this seems to me to be the most "Objective-C" way of doing it. However, each element of the NSDictionary would have to be wrapped in an NSNumber. Now it seems like we're doing an awful lot just to pass the equivalent of a struct. Approach 3: Seems the cleanest to me from an object-oriented standpoint and the extra encapsulation could come in handy later. However, like #2, it now seems like we're doing an awful lot (creating an array, creating and initializing objects) just to pass a struct. So, the question is, how would you approach this situation? Are there other choices I'm not considering? Are there additional advantages or disadvantages to the approaches I've presented that I'm not considering?

  • How do i rotate a CALayer around a diagonal line?

    - by Mattias Wadman
    Hi. I'm trying to implement a flip animation to be used in board game like iPhone-application. The animation is supposed to look like a game piece that rotates and changes to the color of its back (kind of like an Reversi piece). I've managed to create an animation that flips the piece around its orthogonal axis, but when I try to flip it around a diagonal axis by changing the rotation around the z-axis the actual image also gets rotated (not surprisingly). Instead I would like to rotate the image "as is" around a diagonal axis. I have tried to change layer.sublayerTransform but with no success. Here is my current implementation. It works by doing a trick to resolve the issue of getting a mirrored image at the end of the animation. The solution is to not actually rotate the layer 180 degrees, instead it rotates it 90 degrees, changes image and then rotates it back. + (void)flipLayer:(CALayer *)layer toImage:(CGImageRef)image withAngle:(double)angle { const float duration = 0.5f; CAKeyframeAnimation *diag = [CAKeyframeAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"transform.rotation.z"]; diag.duration = duration; diag.values = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble:angle], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], nil]; diag.keyTimes = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:1.0f], nil]; diag.calculationMode = kCAAnimationDiscrete; CAKeyframeAnimation *flip = [CAKeyframeAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"transform.rotation.y"]; flip.duration = duration; flip.values = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:M_PI / 2], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], nil]; flip.keyTimes = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.5f], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:1.0f], nil]; flip.calculationMode = kCAAnimationLinear; CAKeyframeAnimation *replace = [CAKeyframeAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"contents"]; replace.duration = duration / 2; replace.beginTime = duration / 2; replace.values = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:(id)image, nil]; replace.keyTimes = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], nil]; replace.calculationMode = kCAAnimationDiscrete; CAAnimationGroup *group = [CAAnimationGroup animation]; group.removedOnCompletion = NO; group.duration = duration; group.timingFunction = [CAMediaTimingFunction functionWithName:kCAMediaTimingFunctionLinear]; group.animations = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:diag, flip, replace, nil]; group.fillMode = kCAFillModeForwards; [layer addAnimation:group forKey:nil]; }

But I'm getting the following exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: could not find input codec id at com.xuggle.xuggler.IContainerFormat.establishOutputCodecId(IContainerFormat.java:393) at com.xuggle.xuggler.IContainerFormat.establishOutputCodecId(IContainerFormat.java:327) at com.xuggle.xuggler.IContainerFormat.establishOutputCodecId(IContainerFormat.java:300) at com.xuggle.mediatool.MediaWriter.addStreamFromContainer(MediaWriter.java:1141) at com.xuggle.mediatool.MediaWriter.getStream(MediaWriter.java:1046) at com.xuggle.mediatool.MediaWriter.encodeAudio(MediaWriter.java:837) at com.xuggle.mediatool.MediaWriter.onAudioSamples(MediaWriter.java:1448) at com.xuggle.mediatool.AMediaToolMixin.onAudioSamples(AMediaToolMixin.java:89) at com.xuggle.mediatool.MediaReader.dispatchAudioSamples(MediaReader.java:628) at com.xuggle.mediatool.MediaReader.decodeAudio(MediaReader.java:555) at com.xuggle.mediatool.MediaReader.readPacket(MediaReader.java:469) at <package_name>MediaFile.convert(MediaFile.java:66) at <package_name>.MediaFileTest.shouldConvertExistingFLV(MediaFileTest.java:32) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) at org.junit.runners.model.FrameworkMethod$1.runReflectiveCall(FrameworkMethod.java:44) at org.junit.internal.runners.model.ReflectiveCallable.run(ReflectiveCallable.java:15) at org.junit.runners.model.FrameworkMethod.invokeExplosively(FrameworkMethod.java:41) at org.junit.internal.runners.statements.InvokeMethod.evaluate(InvokeMethod.java:20) at org.junit.internal.runners.statements.RunBefores.evaluate(RunBefores.java:28) at org.junit.internal.runners.statements.RunAfters.evaluate(RunAfters.java:31) at org.junit.runners.BlockJUnit4ClassRunner.runChild(BlockJUnit4ClassRunner.java:73) at org.junit.runners.BlockJUnit4ClassRunner.runChild(BlockJUnit4ClassRunner.java:46) at org.junit.runners.ParentRunner.runChildren(ParentRunner.java:180) at org.junit.runners.ParentRunner.access$000(ParentRunner.java:41) at org.junit.runners.ParentRunner$1.evaluate(ParentRunner.java:173) at org.junit.internal.runners.statements.RunBefores.evaluate(RunBefores.java:28) at org.junit.internal.runners.statements.RunAfters.evaluate(RunAfters.java:31) at org.junit.runners.ParentRunner.run(ParentRunner.java:220) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit4.runner.JUnit4TestReference.run(JUnit4TestReference.java:46) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.TestExecution.run(TestExecution.java:38) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.runTests(RemoteTestRunner.java:467) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.runTests(RemoteTestRunner.java:683) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.run(RemoteTestRunner.java:390) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.main(RemoteTestRunner.java:197) The unit test is the following: @Test public void shouldConvertExistingFLV() throws IOException, InterruptedException { String str = "C:\Program Files\Wowza Media Systems\Wowza Media Server 2\content\Extremists"; //"c:/temp/corneta.flv" boolean result = MediaFile.convert(str); assertTrue(result); } So, why can't he find the codec, since I'm testing for a simple flv to mp3 conversion?

  • Error when compiling code with the Protege API

    - by Anto
    I am new to Protege API and I have just created on Eclipse a small application which uses an external OWL file. Also I did import all the necessary libraries. import java.util.Collection; import java.util.Iterator; import edu.stanford.smi.protege.exception.OntologyLoadException; import edu.stanford.smi.protegex.owl.ProtegeOWL; import edu.stanford.smi.protegex.owl.model.*; public class Trial { public static void main(String[] args) throws OntologyLoadException{ String uri = "C:/Documents and Settings/Anto/Desktop/travel.owl"; OWLModel owlModel = ProtegeOWL.createJenaOWLModelFromURI(uri); Collection classes = owlModel.getUserDefinedOWLNamedClasses(); for(Iterator it = classes.iterator(); it.hasNext();){ OWLNamedClass cls = (OWLNamedClass) it.next(); Collection instances = cls.getInstances(false); System.out.println("Class " + cls.getBrowserText()+ " (" + instances.size()+")"); for(Iterator jt = instances.iterator(); jt.hasNext();){ OWLIndividual individual = (OWLIndividual) jt.next(); System.out.println(" - "+ individual.getBrowserText()); } } } } When I do compile however I get the following errors: WARNING: [Local Folder Repository] The specified file must be a directory. • iPhone SDK: TextView, Keyboard in Landscape mode

    - by Arnold
    Hello. How do I make sure that the textview is shown and the keyboard is not obscuring the textview, while in landscape. Using UICatalog I created a TextViewController which works. In it there are two methods for calling the keyboard and making sure that textView is positioned above the keyboard. his just works great in Portrait mode. I got the Landscape mode working, but on the textView is still being put to the top of the iPhone to compensate for the keyboard in portrait mode. I changed the methods for showing the keyboards. Below is the code for this methods: (I will just let see the code for show, since the hide code will be the reverse.. - (void)keyboardWillShow:(NSNotification *)aNotification { UIInterfaceOrientation orientation = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] statusBarOrientation]; if (orientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait) { // the keyboard is showing so resize the table's height CGRect keyboardRect = [[[aNotification userInfo] objectForKey:UIKeyboardBoundsUserInfoKey] CGRectValue]; NSTimeInterval animationDuration = [[[aNotification userInfo] objectForKey:UIKeyboardAnimationDurationUserInfoKey] doubleValue]; CGRect frame = self.view.frame; frame.size.height -= keyboardRect.size.height; [UIView beginAnimations:@"ResizeForKeyboard" context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:animationDuration]; self.view.frame = frame; [UIView commitAnimations]; } else if (orientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeLeft) { NSLog(@"Left"); // Verijderen later CGRect keyboardRect = [[[aNotification userInfo] objectForKey:UIKeyboardBoundsUserInfoKey] CGRectValue]; NSTimeInterval animationDuration = [[[aNotification userInfo] objectForKey:UIKeyboardAnimationDurationUserInfoKey] doubleValue]; CGRect frame = self.view.frame; frame.size.width -= keyboardRect.size.height; [UIView beginAnimations:@"ResizeForKeyboard" context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:animationDuration]; self.view.frame = frame; [UIView commitAnimations]; } else if (orientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight){ NSLog(@"Right"); // verwijderen later. CGRect keyboardRect = [[[aNotification userInfo] objectForKey:UIKeyboardBoundsUserInfoKey] CGRectValue]; NSTimeInterval animationDuration = [[[aNotification userInfo] objectForKey:UIKeyboardAnimationDurationUserInfoKey] doubleValue]; CGRect frame = self.view.frame; frame.size.width -= keyboardRect.size.width; [UIView beginAnimations:@"ResizeForKeyboard" context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:animationDuration]; self.view.frame = frame; [UIView commitAnimations]; } } I know that I have to change the line frame.size.height -= keyboardRect.size.height but I do not seem to get it working. I tried frame.size.width -= keyboardRect.size.height that did not work. Losing the keyboardRect and frame all together work, however off course the keyboard obscures the textview........
