  • Cannot access client pc remotely due to time/date issue xp win2k3 environment

    - by Flotsam N. Jetsam
When I run psexec to the user desktop (xp pro) I get "There is a time and/or date difference between the client and the server." I also get "access denied" when I run the at \clientname time /interactive "net time \server /set /y" command. I cannot access the machine from my win2k3 server's AD Users and Computers utilities. Is going to the machine the only way to remedy? Clarify: Going to the machine and doing the net time command works, but I want a remote solution please.

Thanks!

  • Why isn't the backup file created when running sqlcmd from remote machine?

    - by Ed Gl
I tried running the sqlcmd from a remote host to do a simple backup of a sql 2008 database. The command goes something like this: sqlcmd -s xxx.xxx.xxx.xx -U username -P some_password -Q "Backup database [db] to \ disk = 'c:\test_backup.bak' with format" I get a succesfull message but the file isn't created. When I run this on the sql manager on the same machine, it works. I thought it was permission problems, but I'm using the same username in both cases. Any thoughts?

  • Apache returning text/html on some png files

    - by Oren
I have an Apache web server that has a sub folder for images. For some reason, a few of the .png files are returned as text/html and not as image/png. There is nothing indicating a permission problem and the files return with code 200 and with full size. I made sure that image/png is set and even tried forcing it with .htaccess Any idea where to look next? Edit: looks like an .htaccess configuration problem on a parent directory.

  • Build a server in KVM linux

    - by Lai Yu-Hsuan
I owned a linux server. Now there are several users want to build web services on it, but they require different enviroments. For convenience I give a KVM virtual machine root permission to each user. But obviously the linux server has only one IP. How can I deliver the external requests to corresponding virtual machine? (I expect it's somewhat complicated. If so I want at least some docs/websites I can start reading.)

When I click continue, it does something but the Read-only box is still partially checked. How do I take control of Windows\Temp?

  • Citrix printing permissions

    - by ANervousTwitch
Im trying to get some users printing from a remote citrix server at another company. It seems as though they require local administrator privileges to do so, however Ive been instructed not to give them that. They can print normally from their desktop without issue. Is there some special permission to allow citrix to print through to local/network printers short of granting local admin to these users?

  • Why can't I share a folder on Vista?

    - by Ken
On Windows Vista, I right-click on a folder, Properties, Sharing tab, and either "Advanced Sharing" or "Share"-"Share" causes an error: Windows File Sharing This program will not run Access is denied. Close My user account is an "administrator" on this machine. I think this behavior changed since my computer was added to the new domain recently. I have other folders shared (from long ago), and they continue to be shared just fine.

  • Make a SAMBA file system visible to all users with mount_smbfs

    - by vy32
We have a Macintosh OS10.6 server and a big storage system accessible via SMB. Right now we can mount partitions, but when we mount them they are only accessible to the user that did the mount. All other users get "Access Denied." It there any straightforward way to mount so that all users will be able to access the files? (We want all users mapped to a single SMB UID.)

  • seaudit report detail

    - by user1014130
I've just started using selinux in the last 6 months and am getting to grips with it. However, using sealert on a new CENTOS 6 server, Im not getting the level of detail I was with CENTOS 5. To illustrate: Running sealert -a /var/log/audit/audit.log On CENTOS 5 I get: Summary: SELinux is preventing postdrop (postfix_postdrop_t) "getattr" to /var/log/httpd/error_log (httpd_log_t). Detailed Description: SELinux denied access requested by postdrop. It is not expected that this access is required by postdrop and this access may signal an intrusion attempt. It is also possible that the specific version or configuration of the application is causing it to require additional access. Allowing Access: Sometimes labeling problems can cause SELinux denials. You could try to restore the default system file context for /var/log/httpd/error_log, restorecon -v '/var/log/httpd/error_log' If this does not work, there is currently no automatic way to allow this access. Instead, you can generate a local policy module to allow this access - see FAQ (http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/selinux-faq-fc5/#id2961385) Or you can disable SELinux protection altogether. Disabling SELinux protection is not recommended. Please file a bug report (http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/enter_bug.cgi) against this package. • share git rep access on unix machine with ssh

    - by Daniel
at my school we have a student unix server with our accounts. i have installed git on my account, created a repository, and created the acl permissions on the folder repository so other users can access the repository # file: tp1 # owner: my_account # group: groupxxx user::rwx user:friend_account:rwx group::--- mask::rwx other::--- default:user::rwx default:user:friend_account:rwx default:group::--- default:mask::rwx default:other::--- but friend_account cant even cd to my tp1 directory (permission denied), so i think the problem should be in unix acl permissions..
