  I am running a 6.5 version of Teamcity on a Debian Squeeze server and I use OpenLDAP to authenticate users. I know I can use SSL to be able to use encrypted password authentication, however this has been deprecated by the OpenLDAP developers, see: http://www.openldap.org/faq/data/cache/605.html I would like to know if there is a way to configure LDAP authentication in Teamcity to use TLS on port 389. • Monitor LSI 3ware raid controller on ESXi

  This concerns a server that runs ESXi (v. 4.x or 5.x) installed on drives that are configured into a raid10 using an LSI 3ware 97050 raid controller. I would like to know if there is a way to monitor the LSI 3ware series of controllers, in particular the 9750, through ESXi. And to hopefully also run the monitoring daemon LSI provides. I know you can set up a cronjob to execute tw_cli through ssh on the ESXi server. However that's not really ideal. I am not using vcenter by the way. It would be nice to have more than just monitoring working, since the 3ware software has a very useful web client, besides tw_cli.

• How to encrypt disk transparently without destroying data

  On a Linux system, be it Debian, Redhat or any distro, I would like to encrypt the disk on the fly. That is, encrypt the disk transparently to the OS whilst it is running, reboots, shuts down etc. In addition it should not destroy data. I know there is (commercial) software for windows that does it. But I need a Linux solution. The solutions I know of do not support this as far as I can see (luks, truecrypt...). Maybe there is some hack or work around available?

• After installing Ubuntu how do I get rid of unity and go back to gnome?

  After I have installed the newest Ubuntu LTS release (12.04, still in beta though) I am greeted with an unfamiliar and difficult to use desktop environment. I believe it is called unity. However I have used gnome for a decade and a half and I would not like to move to this new and (for me) unusable desktop environment. What is a quick and easy way to remove (most) of unity and bring back gnome, as well as configure my display manager to load gnome by default with the environment as close as possible to the way it was before?
