• Why Mac OS X is referred to as the developer's OS? [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: Why do programmers use or recommend Mac OS X? I have heard people referring to Mac OS X as the 'developer's operating system' and I was wondering why? I have been using Mac OS X for years but I only see Mac OS X as a developer's OS if the developer tools are installed, without them it's not really a developer's OS. Also, the Terminal is obviously a huge plus for developers but is this it?

• Beta Testing iOS Application

  I was wondering if it is advisable to get a small team of beta testers for an iOS application that will be released to the App Store. I am developing an iOS application and I have setup a beta application form however I was wondering if it is advisable to even do beta testing considering I am actively testing and using my application on all of my own iOS devices (iPad 2, 2 iPod Touches and an iPhone 4 (plus, of course iOS Simulator)) - all running various versions of iOS 4. My question is: would you advise someone to get beta testers for an iOS application and, if so, how would you advise them to go about getting testers. • What does 'Nightly Builds' mean?

  I have been using open source projects for a while and been developing upon the open source applications and every so often I come across the words 'Nightly Build' and I have always been curious as to what it actually means. Does it literally mean the projects are done purely as side projects (usually at night after everyone has finished their day jobs) and there's no true contributor/dedicated development team or is it more complex than that?

• A colourblind member of our team...

  We rely a lot on colour within our code within our team to outline features that need working on and what needs attention, we we think can be improved (we mainly colour the line of the code) for the application we're developing, however we have a close friend that is colourblind and he wants to join our team despite our heavily reliance on colour. Do you have any other recommendations as to how a team can highlight what needs work on without the use of colour - our team is about 25 people that are all accustom to the line colouring system and we have found it be most efficient.
