  • Excel 2007: Exporting more than 100 columns to a .prn file but data is concatenated

    - by Don1
I want to export an Excel worksheet to a space delimited (.prn) file. The worksheet is pretty big (187 columns) and when I set the column widths and try to export the worksheet to a .prn file, the data gets cut at the 98th column (i.e. about 200 characters wide for my data) and the rest is placed directly underneath. It's like I ripped a page in half from top to bottom and placed the right-hand side directly under the left-hand side. How would I get it to export everything without getting concatenated?

  • Why does TrimStart trims a char more when asked to trim "PRN.NUL" ?

    - by James
Here is the code: namespace TrimTest { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { string ToTrim = "PRN.NUL"; Console.WriteLine(ToTrim); string Trimmed = ToTrim.TrimStart("PRN.".ToCharArray()); Console.WriteLine(Trimmed); ToTrim = "PRN.AUX"; Console.WriteLine(ToTrim); Trimmed = ToTrim.TrimStart("PRN.".ToCharArray()); Console.WriteLine(Trimmed); ToTrim = "AUX.NUL"; Console.WriteLine(ToTrim); Trimmed = ToTrim.TrimStart("AUX.".ToCharArray()); Console.WriteLine(Trimmed); } } } The output is like this: PRN.NUL UL PRN.AUX AUX AUX.NUL NUL As you can see, the TrimStart took out the N from NUL. But it doesn't do that for other strings even if it started with PRN. I tried with .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.0 and the results are same. Are there any explanation on what causes this behavior?

  • Bash Array Problem

    - by Deepak Prasanna
I wrote a bash script which tries to find a process and run the process if it had stopped. This is the script. #!/bin/bash process=thin path=/home/deepak/abc/ initiate=thin start -d process_id=`ps -ef | pgrep $process | wc -m` if [ "$process_id" -gt "0" ]; then echo "The process process is running!!" else cd $path $initiate echo "Oops the process has stopped" fi This worked fine and I thought of using arrays so that i can form a loop use this script to check multiple processes. So I modified my script like this #!/bin/bash process[1]=thin path[1]=/home/deepak/abc/ initiate[1]=thin start -d process_id=`ps -ef | pgrep $process[1] | wc -m` if [ "$process_id" -gt "0" ]; then echo "Hurray the process ${process[1]} is running!!" else cd ${path[1]} ${initiate[1]} echo "Oops the process has stopped" echo "Continue your coffee, the process has been stated again! ;)" fi I get this error if i run this script. DontWorry.sh: 2: process[1]=thin: not found DontWorry.sh: 3: path[1]=/home/deepak/abc/: not found DontWorry.sh: 4: initiate[1]=thin start -d: not found I googled to find any solution for this, most them insisted to use "#!/bin/bash" instead of "#!/bin/sh". I tried both but nothing worked. What am i missing?

  • Save File Contents to Variable in Python3.3 [migrated]

    - by Neo_Programmer
I have a Python3.3 script that seems to not work. The script will search for an XML pattern and then print the results to the screen. I am using Ubuntu 12.10 (AMD64) and python3.3. I prefer to use regex with XML, so please disregard this unconventional form of programming. #!/usr/bin/python3.3 import io, re openfile = open('./temp/xaiml/temp_db1.xaiml', 'r') TEMPDB = openfile.read() OUTPUT = print(''.join(re.findall('<cgy><prn>.*_.*<\/prn>.*<\/cgy>', TEMPDB, flags=re.I)))

  • Oracle Tuxedo JCA Adapter 11gR1

    - by deepak.goel
As part of Tuxedo 11gR1 release, we introduced Oracle Tuxedo JCA Adapter. Tuxedo JCA Adapter is based JCA 1.5 specification and should be deployable on any JCA 1.5 compliant application server. I am saying "should" as we have tested Tuxedo JCA Adapter with WebLogic Server, IBM WebSphere and RedHat JBoss only. This adapter provides bi-directional service invocation and transaction and security context propagation from app server to Tuxedo. Basically Tuxedo JCA Adapter provides similar functionality to WebLogic Tuxedo Connector (WTC), if you are already familiar with it. One question we often receive is whether Tuxedo JCA Adapter 11g will interoperate with Tuxedo versions prior to 11g. Answer to this question is yes. Tuxedo JCA Adapter uses Tuxedo domains protocol, is deployed on application server and can interoperate with any current Tuxedo version, starting from version 8.1 and above. You can find datasheet, product binaries and documentation for Tuxedo JCA adapter at OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/tuxedo/index.html. Also, there is a sample application at http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/products/tuxedo/index.html to get you started. Deepak Goel

    - by Deepak Konidena
Hi, I am new to the Web services scene. I currently have access to a RHEL5 box and i need to deploy a java web service on it. • ODI 12c - Loading Files into Oracle, community post from ToadWorld

    - by David Allan
There's a complete soup to nuts post from Deepak Vohra on the Oracle community pages of ToadWorld on loading a fixed length file into the Oracle database. This post is interesting from a few fronts; firstly this is the out of the box experience, no specialized KMs so just basic integration from getting the software installed to running a mapping. Also it demonstrates fixed length file integration including how to use the ODI UI to define the fields and pertinent properties.  Check the blog post out below.... http://www.toadworld.com/platforms/oracle/w/wiki/10935.loading-text-file-data-into-oracle-database-12c-with-oracle-data-integrator-12c.aspx Hopefully you also find this useful, many thanks to Deepak for sharing his experiences. You could take this example further and illustrate how to load into Oracle using the LKM File to Oracle via External table knowledge module which will perform much better and also leverage such things as using wildcards for loading many files into the 12c database.

  • USB External HDD NOT spinning down on Windows Vista / Windows 7

    - by Deepak
I have 3 external 2.5" USB HDDs - all from different manufacturers and with different capacities. I also have access to multiple Windows Vista / Windows 7 / Windows XP computers. My problem is that with the Windows Vista and Windows 7 computers, the external USB drives DO NOT spin down when I do "Safely remove hardware". Windows will tell me that I can safely remove the device, but I can see (and feel the rotations of the disk when I touch the casing) that the disks are still spinning and NEVER spin down. They also never go into their suspended state (which is generally signaled with a slow flashing of the activity LED). However, with Windows XP, when I do "Safely remove hardware", I can see that the drives do indeed spin down without any issues and go into their respective suspended states. I notice that this behaviour is consistent across all my 3 drives and on different hardware. Has anybody else noticed the same issues? Is there any way we can have the same behaviour as Windows XP on Windows Vista and 7, because I feel on the long run, disconnecting the drives while they are still spinning will have a negative effect on their life span. Thanks, Deepak.
