  Hello ! I am really curious about how does the JVM work with threads ! In my searches in internet, I found some material about RTSJ, but I don't know if it's the right directions for my answers. I also found this topic in sun's forums, http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=513&threadID=472453, but that's not satisfatory. Can someone give me some directions, material, articles or suggestion about the JVM scheduling algorithm ? I am also looking for information about the default configurations of Java threads in the scheduler, like 'how long does it take for every thread' in case of time-slicing. And this stuff. • How long does it take each thread timeslice in Windows XP ?

  I am trying to find out how long does it take each thread timeslice (quantum) in Windows but the only information that I found out is about the clock ticks being from 15 to 20ms or 20-30ms. How can I find this information ? I think it may vary from OS to OS, but I am not certain. I appreciate any suggestion on this subject. Thank you.

• What are the design patterns for HTML and CSS ?

  I know that is a very embracing question, but I have just started with Ruby on Rails, and still have a long way with CSS and HTML. There are lots of books about CSS and HTML patterns, but I would like to know what is really applied to actual webpages. For example, what's the best way of doing a simple webpage with a lateral menu, a logo on the top, and some text below? Ok, it seems stupid, but there's lot of ways of doing that, or not ? So, how can I learn this patterns and what are the real patterns ? Would appreciate suggestions of books, articles, etc.

• What database to use with Ruby on Rails, based on actual Hosting services ?

  Hello ! I've been looking for hosting services and I still don't know what kind of database is the most commom. It seems to be MySql and PostgreSql. So, I'm not sure about how much traffic and data my website will have (it's just a project), but I would like to be prepared. I've worked in some projects with Oracle (PL/SQL) and I know something from MySql. Based in this facts, What database to use with Ruby on Rails, based on actual Hosting services ? Thank you !

• How to setup network for Android Honeycomb in VirtualBox?

  I have been trying to setup Android Honeycomb (3.2) with VirtualBox according to this tutorial: http://androidspin.com/2011/01/24/howto-install-android-x86-2-2-in-virtualbox/ but using this iso instead: http://code.google.com/p/android-x86/downloads/detail?name=android-x86-3.2-RC1-tegav2.iso&can=2&q When I type netcfg if gives me: 127.0.0.1/8, so apparently it is not connecting in the network. I tried setting the network to NAT and Bridge, but no results.. Is there anything I am missing?
