• Error while installing joomla on iss

  Hello Guys i have a server on that server iis 7 ,php(5.3.13),.net and mysql is installed and i can easily connect with the mysql but when i am installing joomla and enter DB configuration then hit enter or press Next button then nothing happend and url changes from http://localhost/joomlatest3/installation/index.php to http://localhost/joomlatest3/installation/index.php# i have install fresh stable package 2.5.7 And i have tried joomla 1.5 and 3.0 but the same problem persist any idea why this error is coming Thanks in advance Anand Neema

• how to get category value from xml params?

  I have the following field in xml: <field name="cat1" type="category" extension="COM_CONTENT" label="MOD_ITEM_CAT1" description="MOD_ITEM_CAT_DESC" /> Now, I wanted to get selected value: echo $params->get('cat1'); Which shows me 8 (the value of selected option) not it's title. I've category title people and it should show people instead of 8. So, how to extract the title of the category?

  I have saved value like this in my component table fields params. unique=1 default_value=Default validate=Validate validate_error_msg=Validate error messag searchable=1 Now i want to get value in my component.So I am passing values in my component's view.html.php in this way $params = new JForm($row->params); but its not working. Now I want to get value so I am taking like this $this->params->getValue('default_value'); But its not work where as in Joomla 2.5 ,we can get value like this $this->params->get('default_value');

• Joomla 2.5 disable and remove Smart Cache

  I am maintaining a Joomla 2.5 based magazine website with 3-4 new, long articles every day. Smart Search was enabled by default and now I've got a few "finder" tables full of indexed phrases and therms. I wonder if there are any disadvantages if I'd: Disable the Smart Search plugin Remove these 'finder' tables completely Aha, we're using a Search field, which works fine, but I'm not sure what's going to happen if I disable the plugin and remove these tables. Will it then search for phrases in content Joomla tables or simply break w/o missing 'finder' tables Has anyone tried this before?
