  • dovecot main process terminated with status 89

    - by G. He
I'm trying to configure dovecot/imap to run without SSL. I set ssl = no in 10-ssl.conf in /etc/dovecot/conf.d. However, with this setting, dovecot dies right away when it is started. I checked the log file and found the following: dovecot main process (4895) terminated with status 89 What does it mean? Is there a way for dovecot to run without ssl? The reason I do NOT want ssl is that my outlook complains the certificate cannot be verified. It is really annoying. And I only run the server on a very small lan and don't need that extra security.

  • SQL Saturday #89 in Atlanta!

    - by Most Valuable Yak (Rob Volk)
(Yeah yeah, technically it's in Alpharetta, but it's close enough.) Saturday…Saturday….Saturday…. September 17th.  TWO THOUSAND ELEVEN! OK, it's not a tractor pull, but it's even better:  FREE SQL SERVER TRAINING!  They have a bunch of great speakers lined up, and for some reason, me.  (Protip: be good friends with the program committee, have sufficient bribe funds, and if all else fails, lots of alcohol, drugs and a camera.  Ba-ZING!  You too can speak at SQL Saturday!) I will be presenting Revenge: The SQL! in a new and improved SQL Saturday themed presentation.  Actually, it's the same ol' presentation, I just updated the slide theme to match the new SQL Saturday website design.  (Yeah guys, thanks for changing that a month ago.  So much for coasting on the old format.) Of course, you have your choice of three other SQL Saturdays in other cities that day, but come on, you really want to go to this one. #sqlsat89 #sqlsaturday #sqlkilt #sqlpass

  • Google Chrome 4.0.249.89 not working

    - by tommieb75
Good day to you, I am running Google Chrome 4.0.249.89 and noticed a weird behavior with it. It loads but I get this error, notice there is an absent of commonly used pages in the display itself and displays the message. Upon closer inspection within the directory which I've captured here on pastebin.com Has google chrome ceased to function after a certain limit...? I have tried the setup --rename-chrome-exe trick which did not work...I just don't want to lose my bookmarks... Thanks for your help, Best regards, Tom.

  • Could not connect to wireless unitl reboot (nl80211)

    - by user107410
    I'm using Samsung NP900X3C. I have problem with occasionally connecting to WIFI, with Ubuntu 12.10. Sometimes my computer could not connect to WIFI "blab", neither after reboot computer. Only solution is to restart WIFI hotspot. It's public WIFI, used by many users, that don't have that problem. My /var/log/syslog: Nov 12 10:09:39 k15 wpa_supplicant[1308]: wlan0: SME: Trying to authenticate with 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 (SSID='blab' freq=2427 MHz) Nov 12 10:09:39 k15 kernel: [ 8.908610] wlan0: authenticate with 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 Nov 12 10:09:39 k15 NetworkManager[1004]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: scanning -> authenticating Nov 12 10:09:39 k15 kernel: [ 8.915032] wlan0: send auth to 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 (try 1/3) Nov 12 10:09:39 k15 wpa_supplicant[1308]: wlan0: Trying to associate with 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 (SSID='blab' freq=2427 MHz) Nov 12 10:09:39 k15 kernel: [ 8.916753] wlan0: authenticated Nov 12 10:09:39 k15 kernel: [ 8.916839] wlan0: waiting for beacon from 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 Nov 12 10:09:39 k15 NetworkManager[1004]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: authenticating -> associating Nov 12 10:09:39 k15 NetworkManager[1004]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: associating -> disconnected Nov 12 10:09:39 k15 NetworkManager[1004]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: disconnected -> scanning Nov 12 10:09:42 k15 wpa_supplicant[1308]: wlan0: SME: Trying to authenticate with 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 (SSID='blab' freq=2427 MHz) Nov 12 10:09:42 k15 kernel: [ 12.386212] wlan0: authenticate with 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 Nov 12 10:09:42 k15 wpa_supplicant[1308]: wlan0: Trying to associate with 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 (SSID='blab' freq=2427 MHz) Nov 12 10:09:42 k15 kernel: [ 12.389114] wlan0: send auth to 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 (try 1/3) Nov 12 10:09:42 k15 kernel: [ 12.391021] wlan0: authenticated Nov 12 10:09:42 k15 NetworkManager[1004]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: scanning -> authenticating Nov 12 10:09:42 k15 kernel: [ 12.391332] wlan0: waiting for beacon from 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 Nov 12 10:09:42 k15 NetworkManager[1004]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: authenticating -> associating Nov 12 10:09:43 k15 NetworkManager[1004]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: associating -> disconnected Nov 12 10:09:43 k15 NetworkManager[1004]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: disconnected -> scanning Nov 12 10:09:46 k15 wpa_supplicant[1308]: wlan0: SME: Trying to authenticate with 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 (SSID='blab' freq=2427 MHz) and after restart WiFi, I could connect: Nov 12 10:11:51 k15 NetworkManager[1004]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: inactive -> scanning Nov 12 10:11:55 k15 wpa_supplicant[1308]: wlan0: SME: Trying to authenticate with 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 (SSID='blab' freq=2427 MHz) Nov 12 10:11:55 k15 kernel: [ 144.445154] wlan0: authenticate with 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 Nov 12 10:11:55 k15 kernel: [ 144.453994] wlan0: send auth to 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 (try 1/3) Nov 12 10:11:55 k15 wpa_supplicant[1308]: wlan0: Trying to associate with 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 (SSID='blab' freq=2427 MHz) Nov 12 10:11:55 k15 NetworkManager[1004]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: scanning -> authenticating Nov 12 10:11:55 k15 kernel: [ 144.455860] wlan0: authenticated Nov 12 10:11:55 k15 kernel: [ 144.458681] wlan0: associate with 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 (try 1/3) Nov 12 10:11:55 k15 NetworkManager[1004]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: authenticating -> associating Nov 12 10:11:55 k15 kernel: [ 144.462799] wlan0: RX AssocResp from 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 (capab=0x431 status=0 aid=9) Nov 12 10:11:55 k15 kernel: [ 144.486368] wlan0: associated Nov 12 10:11:55 k15 wpa_supplicant[1308]: wlan0: Associated with 64:70:02:89:7c:d7 Nov 12 10:11:55 k15 kernel: [ 144.487435] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): wlan0: link becomes ready Nov 12 10:11:55 k15 NetworkManager[1004]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: associating -> associated Nov 12 10:11:55 k15 NetworkManager[1004]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: associated -> 4-way handshake This problem is appearing regulary.   • Is it possible to make a MS-SQL Scalar function do this?

    - by Hokken
I have a 3rd party application that can call a MS-SQL scalar function to return some summary information from a table. I was able to return the summary values with a table-valued function, but the application won't utilize table-valued functions, so I'm kind of stuck. Here's a sample from the table: trackingNumber, projTaskAward, expenditureType, amount 1122, 12345-67-89, Supplies, 100 1122, 12345-67-89, Supplies, 150 1122, 12345-67-89, Supplies, 250 1122, 12345-67-89, Misc, 50 1122, 12345-67-89, Misc, 100 1122, 98765-43-21, General, 200 1122, 98765-43-21, Conference, 500 1122, 98765-43-21, Misc, 300 1122, 98765-43-21, Misc, 100 1122, 98765-43-21, Misc, 100 I want to summarize the amounts by projTaskAward & expenditureType, based on the trackingNumber. Here is the output I'm looking for: Proj/Task/Award: 12345-67-89 Expenditure Type: Supplies Total: 500 Proj/Task/Award: 12345-67-89 Expenditure Type: Misc Total: 150 Proj/Task/Award: 98765-43-21 Expenditure Type: General Total: 200 Proj/Task/Award: 98765-43-21 Expenditure Type: Conference Total: 500 Proj/Task/Award: 98765-43-21 Expenditure Type: Misc Total: 500 I'd appreciate any help anyone can give in steering me in the right direction.

  • How to start dovecot?

    - by chudapati09
I'm building a web server to host multiple websites. I got everything working except the mail server. I'm using linode to host my vps and I've been following their tutorials. FYI, I'm using Ubuntu 11.10. Here is the link I've been following, http://library.linode.com/email/postfix/dovecot-mysql-ubuntu-10.04-lucid. I got up to the part where it tells me to restart dovecot, so I tried "service dovecot restart". But then I get this "restart: Unknown instance:". I'm logged in as root, so I'm not using sudo. Since that didn't work I tried "/etc/init.d/dovecot restart" and I get "dovecot start/running, process 4760". So I try "/etc/init.d/dovecot status" and I get "dovecot stop/waiting". So I tried "service dovecot start" and I get "dovecot start/running, process 4781". So I tried to get the status, so I tired "service dovecot status" and got "dovecot stop/waiting" Then I tired "/etc/init.d/dovecot start" and I get "dovecot start/running, process 4794". So I tired to get the status, so I tired "/etc/init.d/dovecot status" and got "dovecot stop/waiting" Just for kicks and giggles I tired to kill the process, I used the PID that I got when I did "service dovecot start", this was the command "kill -9 4444" and I get this "bash: kill: (4805) - No such process" Am I doing something wrong? --EDIT 1-- The following are logs that were found in /var/log/syslog that involved dovecot dovecot: master: Dovecot v2.0.13 starting up (core dumps disabled) dovecot: ssl-params: Generating SSL parameters dovecot: ssl-params: SSL parameters regeneration completed dovecot: master: Warning: Killed with signal 15 (by pid=1 uid=0 code=kill) dovecot: config: Warning: Killed with signal 15 (by pid=1 uid=0 code=kill) dovecot: anvil: Warning: Killed with signal 15 (by pid=1 uid=0 code=kill) dovecot: log: Warning: Killed with signal 15 (by pid=1 uid=0 code=kill) kernel: init: dovecot main process (10276) terminated with status 89 kernel: init: dovecot main process (10289) terminated with status 89 kernel: init: dovecot main process (10452) terminated with status 89 kernel: init: dovecot main process (2275) terminated with status 89 kernel: init: dovecot main process (3028) terminated with status 89 kernel: init: dovecot main process (3216) terminated with status 89 kernel: init: dovecot main process (3230) terminated with status 89 kernel: init: dovecot main process (3254) terminated with status 89 kernel: init: dovecot main process (3813) terminated with status 89 kernel: init: dovecot main process (3845) terminated with status 89 kernel: init: dovecot main process (4664) terminated with status 89 kernel: init: dovecot main process (4760) terminated with status 89 kernel: init: dovecot main process (4781) terminated with status 89 kernel: init: dovecot main process (4794) terminated with status 89 kernel: init: dovecot main process (4805) terminated with status 89 --Edit 2 (/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf)-- The following is the dovecot.conf file protocols = imap imaps pop3 pop3s log_timestamp = "%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S " mail_location = maildir:/home/vmail/%d/%n/Maildir ssl_cert_file = /etc/ssl/certs/dovecot.pem ssl_key_file = /etc/ssl/private/dovecot.pem namespace private { separator = . prefix = INBOX. inbox = yes } protocol lda { log_path = /home/vmail/dovecot-deliver.log auth_socket_path = /var/run/dovecot/auth-master postmaster_address = postmaster@[mydomainname.com] mail_plugins = sieve global_script_path = /home/vmail/globalsieverc } protocol pop3 { pop3_uidl_format = %08Xu%08Xv } auth default { user = root passdb sql { args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-sql.conf } userdb static { args = uid=5000 gid=5000 home=/home/vmail/%d/%n allow_all_users=yes } socket listen { master { path = /var/run/dovecot/auth-master mode = 0600 user = vmail } client { path = /var/spool/postfix/private/auth mode = 0660 user = postfix group = postfix } } } -- Edit 3 (/var/log/mail.log) -- The following is what is in /var/log/mail.log dovecot: master: Dovecot v2.0.13 starting up (core dumps disabled) dovecot: ssl-params: Generating SSL parameters postfix/master[9917]: daemon started -- version 2.8.5, configuration /etc/postfix dovecot: ssl-params: SSL parameters regeneration completed postfix/master[9917]: terminating on signal 15 postfix/master[10196]: daemon started -- version 2.8.5, configuration /etc/postfix dovecot: master: Warning: Killed with signal 15 (by pid=1 uid=0 code=kill) dovecot: config: Warning: Killed with signal 15 (by pid=1 uid=0 code=kill) dovecot: anvil: Warning: Killed with signal 15 (by pid=1 uid=0 code=kill) dovecot: log: Warning: Killed with signal 15 (by pid=1 uid=0 code=kill) postfix/master[2435]: daemon started -- version 2.8.5, configuration /etc/postfix postfix/master[2435]: terminating on signal 15 postfix/master[2965]: daemon started -- version 2.8.5, configuration /etc/postfix

  • 500 Metro Style WP7 Icons

    - by Bil Simser
I was inspired by The Noun Project, a project that offers up “Metro-style” icons in SVG format. The project is licensed under a public domain license and while it’s a great project, all of the content is in SVG format. Jon Galloway has a great post (from 2007) talking about the differences between SVG and XAML so I highly recommend that for some background. I thought it would be helpful to the WPF/Windows Phone 7/Silverlight community to provide the content in alternative formats for use in your applications. The Goods I’ve put together a package of the 500 icons (502 actually) in PNG, XAML and the original SVG format along with a couple of sample projects so you can see them in action. There’s a WPF desktop app: And a Windows Phone 7 app: Building It To get all the content first I wrote up a quick program to suck the original SVG files. Luckily they’re all in a common path just named 1.SVG, 2.SVG, and so on. Easy sleazy to grab the contents. Once I had 500 SVG files I used the latest copy of XamlTune, an open source CodePlex project that has a command line conversion tool to convert the directory of SVG files into XAML (the tool also created a PNG file of each SVG so that’s just icing on the cake). Conversions The conversion from SVG to XAML isn’t 100%. While you can just drop the content into a WPF app, it doesn’t work that way for WP7. There are just some small adjustments I made to each format so you’ll have to do the same. Follow the information below or refer to the sample applications. As a sample, here’s an icon we want to use: Here’s the original SVG file: <svg version="1.0" id="Layer_1" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" x="0px" y="0px" width="100px" height="94.616px" viewBox="0 0 100 94.616" enable-background="new 0 0 100 94.616" xml:space="preserve"> <path d="M25.076,15.639c4.324,0.009,7.824-3.488,7.82-7.82C32.9,3.512,29.4,0.012,25.076,0c-4.313,0.012-7.814,3.512-7.821,7.819 C17.262,12.15,20.763,15.648,25.076,15.639L25.076,15.639z"/> <path d="M4.593,43.388h6.861l4.137-15.135h1.716L13.22,43.388h24.318l-4.389-15.135h1.817l2.32,7.415 c1.08,3.131,3.852,3.851,6.003,1.162l8.375-10.142c2.651-3.42-2.104-7.021-4.844-4.035l-4.993,5.952 c0.007,0.095-0.96-3.278-0.96-3.278c-1.135-3.978-4.918-7.903-10.595-7.922H19.576c-5.071,0.019-9.043,4.434-9.888,7.214 L4.593,43.388L4.593,43.388z"/> <polygon points="56.206,22.753 56.206,7.163 49.192,7.163 49.192,22.753 56.206,22.753 "/> <path d="M79.87,15.738c4.332-0.014,7.831-3.516,7.82-7.82c0.011-4.332-3.488-7.833-7.82-7.82c-4.306-0.013-7.806,3.488-7.821,7.82 C72.064,12.222,75.564,15.725,79.87,15.738L79.87,15.738z"/> <path d="M89.759,89.556v-43.19h5.751V22.804c0.007-3.079-2.757-5.448-6.71-5.449H70.436c-3.65,0.001-4.539,1.186-5.551,2.168 L49.597,37.889c-3.098,3.848,2.428,8.333,5.55,4.743L69.88,25.226v64.43c-0.019,6.475,9.06,6.686,9.081,0.201v-36.58h1.765v36.379 C80.748,96.109,89.772,96.13,89.759,89.556L89.759,89.556z"/> <polygon points="100,54.035 100,45.155 0,45.155 0,54.035 100,54.035 "/> </svg> Here’s the XAML that XamlTune created. You can just as easily use the PNG files in WP7 but if you want the crispness of vector graphics, go for the XAML version. Of course with XamlTune being open source you could always modify the output of that program to cater it to your app. If you do make a change that’s worthy please consider submitting a patch to the project so everyone can benefit. I'm trying to set up a medium sized Drupal 7 website on my miniserver but I keep getting a 500 error message. This is what I found in Apache's error log: [Wed Sep 12 15:02:04 2012] [notice] SSL FIPS mode disabled [Wed Sep 12 15:02:04 2012] [warn] No JkShmFile defined in httpd.conf. Any help would be much appreciated, and if there's need of any other information please let me know and I'll update the question. I compiled apache with tomcat because I intend to use Solr... not sure if this is relevant or not.

  • What is the most effective and flexible way to generate combinations in TSQL?

    - by SDReyes
    What is the most effective and flexible way to generate combinations in TSQL? With 'Flexible', I mean you should be able to add easily combination rules. e.g.: to generate combinatories of 'n' elements, sorting, remove duplicates, get combinatories where each prize belongs to a different lottery, etc. For example, Having a set of numbers representing lottery prizes. Number | Position | Lottery --------------------------- 12 | 01 | 67 12 | 02 | 67 34 | 03 | 67 43 | 01 | 89 72 | 02 | 89 33 | 03 | 89 (I include the position column because, a number could be repeated among different lottery's prizes) I would like to generate combinatories like: Numbers | Lotteries ------------------- 12 12 | 67 67 12 34 | 67 67 12 34 | 67 67 12 43 | 67 89 12 72 | 67 89 12 33 | 67 89 . . .

  • sql: Group by x,y,z; return grouped by x,y with lowest f(z)

    - by Sai Emrys
    This is for http://cssfingerprint.com I collect timing stats about how fast the different methods I use perform on different browsers, etc., so that I can optimize the scraping speed. Separately, I have a report about what each method returns for a handful of URLs with known-correct values, so that I can tell which methods are bogus on which browsers. (Each is different, alas.) The related tables look like this: CREATE TABLE `browser_tests` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `bogus` tinyint(1) DEFAULT NULL, `result` tinyint(1) DEFAULT NULL, `method` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `url` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `os` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `browser` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `version` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `created_at` datetime DEFAULT NULL, `updated_at` datetime DEFAULT NULL, `user_agent` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB AUTO_INCREMENT=33784 DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 CREATE TABLE `method_timings` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `method` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `batch_size` int(11) DEFAULT NULL, `timing` int(11) DEFAULT NULL, `os` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `browser` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `version` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `user_agent` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL, `created_at` datetime DEFAULT NULL, `updated_at` datetime DEFAULT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB AUTO_INCREMENT=28849 DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 (user_agent is broken down pre-insert into browser, version, and os from a small list of recognized values using regex; I keep the original user-agent string just in case.) I have a query like this that tells me the average timing for every non-bogus browser / version / method tuple: select c, avg(bogus) as bog, timing, method, browser, version from browser_tests as b inner join ( select count(*) as c, round(avg(timing)) as timing, method, browser, version from method_timings group by browser, version, method having c > 10 order by browser, version, timing ) as t using (browser, version, method) group by browser, version, method having bog < 1 order by browser, version, timing; Which returns something like: c bog tim method browser version 88 0.8333 184 reuse_insert Chrome 4.0.249.89 18 0.0000 238 mass_insert_width Chrome 4.0.249.89 70 0.0400 246 mass_insert Chrome 4.0.249.89 70 0.0400 327 mass_noinsert Chrome 4.0.249.89 88 0.0556 367 reuse_reinsert Chrome 4.0.249.89 88 0.0556 383 jquery Chrome 4.0.249.89 88 0.0556 863 full_reinsert Chrome 4.0.249.89 187 0.0000 105 jquery Chrome 5.0.307.11 187 0.8806 109 reuse_insert Chrome 5.0.307.11 123 0.0000 110 mass_insert_width Chrome 5.0.307.11 176 0.0000 231 mass_noinsert Chrome 5.0.307.11 176 0.0000 237 mass_insert Chrome 5.0.307.11 187 0.0000 314 reuse_reinsert Chrome 5.0.307.11 187 0.0000 372 full_reinsert Chrome 5.0.307.11 12 0.7500 82 reuse_insert Chrome 5.0.335.0 12 0.2500 102 jquery Chrome 5.0.335.0 [...] I want to modify this query to return only the browser/version/method with the lowest timing - i.e. something like: 88 0.8333 184 reuse_insert Chrome 4.0.249.89 187 0.0000 105 jquery Chrome 5.0.307.11 12 0.7500 82 reuse_insert Chrome 5.0.335.0 [...] How can I do this, while still returning the method that goes with that lowest timing? I could filter it app-side, but I'd rather do this in mysql since it'd work better with my caching.
