• The danger of changing the domain of your portfolio

  So I have a online portfolio that is available at mervin-ux-portfolio.com but I am planning to change hosts since the current host I am hosting it with is hitting me with a very high yearly renewal rate. When I was inquiring about domain transfers ,,they told me that since I had not initiated the domain transfer within 14 days of the expiry of the domain ,they cannot do it immediately and it would take about two weeks to to release the domain name. Since I dont like the idea of my site being down for like 2 weeks ,I was wondering if I should start afresh with a new domain on a new host and what were the potential dangers of that ( I have the entire site backup,so creating a replica of the site on the new host wont be hard) I also wont be losing any business or work since I work full time currently but I was just wondering about the challenges in terms of getting my domain name back to the top of search results and basically getting it out there assuming I go the new domain name approach. I know this is strictly not an UX question but I was hoping people could give some suggestions on what I should do

The genesis of this interview goes back to 2009, and the original Red Room blog, on which Sean, Richard, Mervin, and other Red Roomers published a 10-part series of posts that, taken together, form a kind of SOA best-practices guide, presented in an irreverent style that is rare in a lot of technical writing. It was on the basis of their expertise and irreverence that I wanted to get a few of the Red Room bloggers on an Arch2Arch podcast.  Easier said than done. Trying to schedule a group interview with very busy people on the other side of world (they’re actually 15 hours in the future, relative to my location) is not a simple process. The conversations about getting some of the Red Room people on the program began in the summer of 2009. The interview finally happened at 5:30 PM EDT on Tuesday March 30, 2010, which for the panelists, located in Australia, was 8:30 AM on Wednesday March 31, 2010. I was waiting for dinner, and Sean, Richard, and Mervin were waiting for breakfast. But the call went off without a hitch, and the panelists carried on a great discussion of SOA issues. • wmic output well formed xml on remote queries

  I want to use the WMI command line tool (wmic) to get information about windows computers on the network and output it as valid xml. However, I can't seem to find the right way to do this as the outputted xml currently contains invalid tokens for which I think I should use the /TRANSLATE:basicxml switch. The command: wmic /NODE:"tech-demo" /IMPLEVEL:Impersonate /USER:MyUser /PASSWORD:MyPassword /PRIVILEGES:DISABLE /AUTHLEVEL:Pkt /AUTHORITY:"ntlmdomain:companydomain.local" PATH Win32_LogicalDisk GET * /FORMAT:rawxml This command runs but returns invalid xml tokens ('<' and '' I think? edit: it appears to fail parsing at ‹) When I add the translate switch I get the message: Can not use credentials for local connections a bit strange that it tries to query the local pc when I add the switch.. Help would be greatly appreciated.

• How can I place a SurfaceView inside one or more scrollviews ?

  Hello, I'm making a 2D game for Android and I've encountered the following problem: - I have made a class that extends SurfaceView and draws my graphics (the size of the canvas that I use has to be 1664x864). This is ofcourse too big for the screen so I needed scrolling, I chose to use google's ScrollView and HorizontalScrollView (nested) for this, But whenever I add my SurfaceView to a ScrollView (whether it's 1 or 2) via AddChild it only draws the ScrollView , SurfaceCreated() isn't even called on the SurfaceView. (Drawing the SurfaceView in a layout without adding it to a ScrollView does work.) I realize that there are other options for scrolling like a screen-sized canvas and bitmap offsets but this would really be my preferred way to go. I would really appreciate some help to make this work.

  I'm new to Java (have experience with C#), This is what i want to do: public final class MyClass { public class MyRelatedClass { ... } } public class OtherRandomClass { public void DoStuff() { MyRelatedClass data = new MyClass.MyRelatedClass(); } } which gives this error in Eclipse: "No enclosing instance of type BitmapEffects is accessible. Must qualify the allocation with an enclosing instance of type BitmapEffects (e.g. x.new A() where x is an instance of BitmapEffects)." this is possible in C# with static classes , how should it be done here?
