  • How to restore a VirtualBox image given the .vdi file

    Background I have VirtualBox on Linux and recently the drive with the system files failed on me. I'm able to use the Live CD to view the files of the storage drive, and through this, I can copy my data files to another computer while I work on this one. How do I load the .vdi in another computer (or in this case, the fresh install of Ubuntu)? I see many samples online of how to export it, but it assumes the host is currently working. Thanks!

  • Juniper not working on Windows 8.1

    I recently upgrade my laptop to windows 8.1 and now I can't run the Juniper terminal to connect to the company VPN. At the moment to click on the virtual machine it launche the terminal and afetr a few seconds a messages popup appears saying: juniper terminal services client has stopped working When I had windows 8 I was able to run Juniper without any problem. But in Windows 8.1 seems there are compatibilities issues. Any suggestion, solution or workaround? Thanks in advance

Recently one of the other administrators accidentally deleted the Facebook fan page. We have tried to fill out this form: http://www.facebook.com/developers/developer_help.php And have yet to receive a response. We are desperate to have the fan page restored.   • Don't see job schedule added by sp_add_jobschedule in SQL Mgmt UI

    I'm running a script like below on a SQL Server box and, even though it finishes correctly, then when, on SQL Mgmt UI, I right click on that job's properties, go to Schedules, I cannot see the schedule just added... what am I missing? (I'm using the right job_name param, etc) thanks!   • Pidgin to pidgin, what protocol to chose?

    Hi I and a friend need to start to use some instant messaging and it seem like pidgin is a nice program to use. However it supports quite a lot of different protocols. So my question is witch to choose? Since both parties can use the same program we don't have to use the same protocol as "all the rest", but can focus on what is best to use.     Hello everyone, I am using scp command to copy file from a MacBook Pro OS X 10.5 to another Linux box (Red Hat Linux Enterprise 5). I am using the following command on Mac, sudo scp ~/.ssh/mykey.rsa [email protected], there is no output from Mac command line. I am not sure whether the scp is success or not. Where is the location the file mykey.rsa on remote computer 10.10.100.101? thanks in advance, George

    Hi, I am running the site at www.euroworker.no, it's a linux server and the site has a backend editor. It's a smarty/php site, and when I try to update a few of the .tpl's (two or three) they don't update. I have tried uploading through FTP and that doesn't work either. I have no knowledge of how servers work or anything, please help? It runs on the livecart system. Thanks!

  • How to restore using DriveImage XML image if unable to make a BartPE CD

    I have a Windows Vista laptop that won't boot at all. On the D: drive I have DriveImage XML images of C: drive, but I don't have a BartPE boot CD and I don't have a Vista install CD. How can I image the C: using the images on D: if I can't make a BartPE CD because I can't boot to Windows? Is there a BartPE (with DriveImage XML plugin) iso I can download from somewhere, or what can I do? Thanks.

    Could anyone explain to me why is it that producers of processors claim that their processor can perform so many thousands (or millions) operations per second and yet typical program (Word, VS etc.) on my machine with 4GB, 3500hz starts with no less than 10 sec. Have to mention that I've just formatted disk and tick any necessary boxes to optimize my machine. So if for example outlook starts in 10 sec I wonder how many millions of operations have to be performed to run such program? Thanks

  • Using Openfiler inside a virtualmachine and VmWare Fault Tolerance

    Hello, currently I have 2 servers with Fault Tolerance working with another server with openfiler as a iSCSI server (looks like without that Fault Tolerance does not work). I would like to remove that server and put the openfiler distribution as another Fault Tolerance protected machine. Is this possible? This way i could save one server and also have faster HD access.     As question, I have found online that backupify offer shifting from their S3 to user's personal S3, I have a backupify account but I can't find this options, besides, I don't prefer having my email being processed by somebody else. Is it possible to use my own personal amazon s3 account to backup gmail? Preferably as incremental backup, as I don't have to use too much of bandwidth to load redundant data back to S3. I am using ubuntu, so script is OK for me. Thanks!
